When I came in to exchange it with the receipt I was told by the Manager (Ray) that they did not have 1/2" in stock. Okay fine, I said. Please issue a refund for the tubing I was returning. Then he said that they did not carry the brand I was trying to return. Obviously, they did because I bought it 2 days ago off their shelf, the cashier rang up the sale and gave me a receipt. I had the receipt. The receipt showed 1/4" inch tubing, 100'. This was entered incorrectly by the cashier when I purchased it. Ray proceeded to tell me about how it was wrapped in plastic and they don't do that with their tubing. He then told me it had the wrong kind of label on it, that they don't use that label. He then told me that they don't carry that size. Obviously, he was inferring that I didn't buy the tubing from their store. Interestingly, Ray was doing something on the isle when I bought the tubing 2 days earlier and we spoke briefly. I reminded him of that. The cashier said that they would honor it, but that wasn't the point. Ray made it sound like I was trying get away with something.......in front of 2 other customers. It was insulting and embarrassing at the same time. For a lousy $11 of tubing. I'm a Chino Valley resident and have been going to that store for over 7 years. I was treated like I was being dishonest. I will NEVER go back there.

I found all that I needed so I was happy about that but when I came to getting my keys made, I had an issue. I asked the nearest associate by the name of Leslie, near the key making machine for help. She acted rudely never saying a word throughout the entire key making process. She appeared to be "bothered" by my request. She found the right blanks and finished up with the first one when I asked to check the key in the lock I brought. Again, she seemed "bothered" by my request. When she finished the second key she wanted to bag it and again I asked to check the key. She rolled her eyes and again seemed "bothered". Both keys worked well and I told her "good job, thank you". No response, just turned and walked away. I get that people have bad days at work and maybe she had issues outside of her job that she was focused on. My suggestion would be that the people who are there to help customers who are spending hard earned money get better training when dealing with the public. I have been a loyal customer for years but have now considered going down the street to Lowe's. I ask that this complaint gets to the proper supervisor and something be done. I'm sure I will get the same canned response as all the other people who wrote negative reviews and that will justify my going elsewhere. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Charlie

No, really: their store, like every other ACE Hardware store, is supplied from the same regional warehouses as everyone else... so all of them have access to the same merchandise at the same price. The excuse for high prices "We have high costs of transportation due to our distance" is pure BRAVO SIERRA. The high prices, set by the franchise owner, are egregious. They have a policy that if you fill your propane tanks, you can dump your trailer's septic tank free of charge. I needed to add some water to the freshwater tank, by put the only hose was the same one that people used for flushing their septic tank dump hose. The propane guy stood talking with someone for over 40 minutes -- knowing that we were waiting for propane. We waited... very patiently. After RVs began blocking the right lane of 89, waiting to get in, I guess someone called the store, asking if someone could wake up the propane guy. Took about six minutes to fill our tanks, at almost twice the normal price. After walking around in the wet sewage from other RVs, I didn't think I'd ever wear those shoes again. The area is not at all maintained. Or cleaned. Wear disposable boots, or galoshes. Very narrow parking area for maneuvering a trailer, especially with light vehicles zipping around the parking lot, blissfully unaware that 52' of tow vehicle and trailer don't stop on a dime. For a place that does double-duty as a church on Sunday, they aren't very friendly or hospitable. I don't know what they're in business for. Neither do they.

I highly recommend The Door and Window store. Yes, sometimes they are busy. I always take a picture or the piece of the door I need which is pain full as my doors are solid wood 32 x 80 inches and extremely heavy. I find that if you give respect you get respect. Many times I hear customers that are clueless about what they need, using improper technology and expect the staff to be mind readers. Yesterday I reserved a cargo van at the Prescott Valley Home Depot; they took a $150 deposit. Today I went to that store, presented my driver's license, and was told I first needed to scan a QR code on my phone (!!??). Then I received a text, with a magic number. Then I typed the magic number into something called "CLEAR". Then CLEAR had me take a selfie. Then present my license to my phone camera; CLEAR repeated "try again", but eventually CLEAR got it. But then it demanded the back of the license. So again I showed it to the camera. This time "No document detected" ... over and over and over. So I handed my phone to the HD employee: "here, you do it - I could have applied for a mortgage in the time this is taking". The HD employee tried and tried, always failing, until CLEAR apparently crashed (blank blue screen). BTW this is a recent Samsung phone (not an antique), with a very clear & legible license, with good store lighting. I gave up - I said "here, look at the photo on the license, then look at me - it's obviously a match". The HD replied that he can't verify it himself. I asked if he could override the CLEAR step - no. I asked him to call his manager - he said he couldn't override CLEAR either. So I said call the president of Home Depot; he said he couldn't override it either. Apparently even the Pope would not be trusted to simply look at my license, then look at me, and confirm it's the same person. I asked, what can we do? He said, nothing can be done - he could not rent me anything. If CLEAR is no important to national security at Home Depot, then perhaps Home Depot should have equipment at the register that can scan a license under controlled conditions, not relying on the customer or the customer's technology. I had people waiting for me to bring a truck for a move today. And I drove across town to this HD for this rental. You took a $150 deposit from me. And wasted a lot of my time an patience. Fortunately, there was a U-Haul not far from there, where I got a truck and did my move, quickly and easily, for less $ than the HD estimate. As far as can tell, HD does not really want to be in the rental business.
