This home depot feels like any other home depot. Has the same products and prices as the other home depots. But the biggest problem is the customer service. Most of the employees at this location are very rude and grumpy or grouchy. They also sound like they have no clue how to help when you're confused or can't find what you're looking for. Had a major issue with the delivery of our wine fridge this morning. We paid for delivery, unpacking, testing of equipment, installation, and removal of the old fridge and packing materials. What we got was a seemingly rushed and uninterested rep who pulled out the old fridge and basically said he was done. The new fridge was still in the box! When I said something they pulled the fridge out of the box, left all the wrapping on it, never tested it and left. Leaving all the hard to get off sticker material. Thank God the darn thing worked!!! I like Home Depot overall, but this delivery experience was pathetic to say the least. I hope they call me after reading my initial survey so I can request a refund of the installation portion and to hopefully get the crew trained properly or relieved of their duties. My main issue is with their website. We saw that the floors we wanted were available so we had our crew remove our old flooring so that we can coordinate with our contractor to purchase the floors and install the next day. I get a call from my contractor the morning after informing me that they do not have the floors in stock despite what it said online and that he'd have to order them which will take over a week to deliver. We were extremely irritated because most of our flooring was removed since we believed that the floors were in stock and had someone did their job properly and updated the site we wouldn't have had this issue. What made the matter worse is that the employee at the store admitted that the website is not always accurate which is baffling since nobody is bothering to address the issue despite knowing it's an ongoing problem. Please wake up and do better, Home Depot because otherwise your competitors will be getting our business instead. read more

I had a problem with some items I had purchased and scheduled for delivery, when the items arrived some were damaged and the policy was to accept and return damaged items or decline whole order. I declined the order and then I contacted the store manager Scott and explained what happened he said that was unacceptable and he personally took care of the problem and went above and beyond to resolve the problem and make sure I happy with the resolution, so this is how business should be conducted. read more

I don't know what was in the air today but the customer experience was definitely not it at this store. Our experience was such a bummer because my bf and I have spent thousands of dollars with Home Depot over the last few months but it looks like we'll be taking our business to Lowe's. After driving 45 minutes into town to get some last minute supplies we needed to complete our deck, we were walking aimlessly around the store without so much as a hello from any of the staff. When we couldn't find what we were looking for I asked an employee who was nearby if they happened to work in the tool section. With an attitude reminiscent of shrek in his bog days- he made it very clear he did not work in tools by exclaiming, "no- I'm plumbing" followed by a scoff. My bad! I then asked him if he could call someone over and with even more attitude and annoyance as if I'd just taken his last water bottle on a hot day- he responded with "I guess I'll try." Sorry for inconveniencing you? When the girl arrived to help us in tools she must have caught whatever contagious tude this fella had cause with utter annoyance and discourse she pointed at the wall with "what I have is here- that's it" then walked away. We decided to not impose on anymore employees when a lovely angel of a woman by the name of Gemini greeted us. She clearly hadn't gotten bit by the grump bug because she was happy and eager to help us. She then called over the manager for us, but as luck would have it- it appears that assistant manager "spike" had his quills out fresh with grump juice over them because nothing g in his face screamed that he was taking any of my feedback seriously and that we also inconvenienced him from whatever he was doing. It's clear the lack of management is what seems to mitigate the acceptable behaviors here because as we were checking out- still cheery and kind after just facing three levels of turds- we were met with the ultimate boss of rudeness, "Jill." When I explained that a few scrap pieces of wood were free from a trash bin and marked "free" she replied with a hasty tude and "whatever." I thought we were cool until she decided to imply we were lying and double check with another employee clearly peeved at our sweet deal. Luckily the girl in the back that had offered us the pieces walked by and acknowledged they were in fact free which sent Jill on a tirade of how even they don't get pieces for free and how unfair it was. Sorry again? ‍ most definitely not a place I'll ever spend my change again. I'd suggest taking your business over to Lowe's who were all to happy to greet us and take our business. Dwayne, in the Home Depot (on Hwy 69, Prescott, AZ) plumbing department, saved the day! I had a drippy shower spout and let Dwayne know what I needed. He said "that's a Delta product and Home Depot doesn't carry Delta, but..." Dwayne reached down and grabbed an item from the bottom shelf and announced that Home Depot had received this (Delta) product in error, and it wasn't worth returning to the supplier. It was exactly what I needed! He also told me the drip was due to a faulty cartridge. Who knew that showers even had cartridges? He pulled the exact cartridge that I needed, amongst a variety and showed me the difference between them. He then opened another box. He showed the complete cartridge assembly, and what I would need to do to swap it out. What started out being an intimidating repair, following Dwayne's show-and-tell, was completed correctly and quickly. I was SO grateful I dropped off a thank you card, which I hope was shared with HD management, along with a gift card for coffee. Dwayne is my "go to" guy and he really knows his stuff. read more

Do not buy an appliance from here. It's Prescott and probably at least 1/2 the population uses propane. THEY CANNOT CONNECT TO PROPANE. BUT LOWES CAN. Went twice within a span of 10 days to buy an oven. The assigned person for appliances, believe her name was Kelly, was never there. No one was around that could help me buy an appliance and help with home set up. So I bought it online. It's Prescott I assumed connecting to propane would be no issue. They delivered the new oven, but weren't able to connect it because we use propane. Half of Prescott uses propane!! They had no solutions and took the other oven. The store had no answers. When my boyfriend went to the store to try to figure it out Kelly was outright rude to him to the point that other workers apologized for her behavior. The manager stated they don't have people certified to connect appliances to Propane, and they don't have a solution for customers that use propane other than call around. Guess what our propane company doesn't do that so we're screwed. 1k oven that we can't use. Lowe's connects to propane. Go there. Also pretty sure their staff isn't rude and tries to resolve customer issues. read more

Home Depot is scamming Veterans and making it impossible for many to get the military discount! For many years I have purchased from Home Depot for a variety of products form building packages for residential construction to major remodel efforts. Many items are ok that is average quality that usually can be obtained by a more local hardware or lumber yard of far superior quality. However sometimes I'm stuck to buy at Home Depot because I prefer a specific item. Years ago I received one of their charge cards to get an additional discount but after I used it paid it off to avoid interest than tried to cancel it! And what a nightmare that was! A gimmick they have to try and keep you tied into them. So they can solicit their products to you at ease. I hate gimmicks. Well I needed an item again and being a retired card carrying veteran I asked for the military discount that they have advertised and I've used for years. Well here they go again. They informed me I would need to load their app on my smart phone in order to get my military discount! It wouldn't matter if I have an official DoD ID!! I know a lot of my fellow Vietnam vets that only have flip phones. So guess what's. HOME DEPOT Is no longer giving out military discounts except for those with smart phones and want their virus plagued gimmick app on it. Avoid these guys it's all a scam!! The staff at this location is wonderful. Super friendly & helpful. Whether you're renting a tool or trying to decide on a BBQ, the staff are patient & very helpful. Like any Home Depot, they have a ton of great DIY products. If you're in need of special wood or big ticket home appliances, do yourself a favor and goto a store that specializes in those items. If getting poor service and being mocked by the staff then this is your place. I bought a heater from them that had a short in it so I returned it. I remembered I had my receipt but when I got to the counter I couldn't find it. I had paid cash for it and the man helping me said because I paid cash for it there was nothing he could do even though his bar code was on the packed box. I also said I was going to buy something else so a gift card would be fine. This has happened once before when I didn't have a receipt. So I said it's amazing that paying with cash hurts you and that was ridiculous. He then abruptly dismissed me with a "good day sir!" And I said this apparently is why you have two stars on Yelp. He mockingly laughed at me so loud and so long that 20 yards into the parking lot I could still see him. When I got to my truck I find my receipt, it had just fell out of my pocket when getting my gloves. So I went back in and asked for the manager. I was met by a short Hispanic guy who was even ruder then the first guy having explained what happened. As I walked out I saw him walk pass the employee and smile and shake is head like I was some how unreasonable. I have used HD hundreds of times and am working on a million plus renovation fifteen minutes away. With Lowe's being 3 minutes away I cannot see myself setting food in Home Depot ever again. I will literally go to Ace, True Value, anyplace other then Home Depot. I have worked to hard to be treated with such disrespect and Mockery. I am disgusted. I ordered thousands of dollars in building materials for a large garage project on a Thursday afternoon and was told it would be delivered Monday morning. Waited all morning and it never arrived. Called that afternoon and was told "truck broke down...you're first on Tuesday's schedule." Tuesday came and went, Wednesday came and went and finally at 2:00pm on Thursday the delivery occurred. I just bought a 5x8 utility trailer at Home Depot in Kingman. It is exactly what I wanted and it only took maybe 20-30 minutes total to look at it and buy. Why drive to Kingman when my home is in Prescott? The service here is absolutely TERRIBLE! I went to this Home Depot twice. The first time they sent me on a wild goose chase all over the store. From "customer service" to Contractor's checkout to special order to tool rental to another cashier then back to "customer service". Their attitudes were universally unfriendly and slightly annoyed. They were more interested in finishing their chats with each other while customer's waited. After 45 minutes of this, I decided not to interrupt their employee chats with my annoying questions anymore. I drove to PV. PV HD staff were friendly and helpful but they do not carry the trailer. I work out of town so I decided to pick one up in Flagstaff. Wrong... After 2 separate trips both taking at least an HOUR out of my time (each time I attempted to buy a trailer), I took Flagstaff HD off of my list. 1 1/2 months after first trying to buy a trailer, I was headed east and decided to drive the extra 60 miles to see if Kingman Home Depot wanted to sell me a trailer. They did!! They knew what paperwork they needed to fill out (as dealers) and quickly rang it up and I was on my way!! I have remodeled or rehabbed several homes (in WA and AZ) and swore by Home Depot. Service has never been great for handiwomen but it was passable. Maybe it's because I'm older now? I will start out by saying, I work in the service industry there for I am extremely forgiving and patient. This time I will not let it go. The store is a mess. A huge mess. Not the first time. Store manager and department managers obviously are understaffed or just don't care. Seemed liked plenty of employees. Products everywhere needing to be stocked. Clogging up isle ways. Maybe the truck just came for delivery. Who knows. Empty carts blocking every isle. Employees who are so rude. I know everyone can have a bad day but... our cashier basically was the top to this bad experience. I have her name from the receipt but I won't use it. We kindly started checking out. We asked how she was. She said I guess I'm ok. Fine. She has such a hard time with everything. Then she had the audacity of telling us to calm down, just because we asked why the piece of scrap wood was not priced correctly. And we were super polite. Not good of her at all. Super disappointed. While we have tried to buy major appliances though local stores, we fell for a $3,500 refrigerator in Home Depot to be the premier piece in our new kitchen. About 28 months after we got it, it went sour, literally. I got food poisoning from bad chicken salad. At first I thought it was from a local restaurant, as our spiffy refrigerator still made ice, the freezer was working, and stuff in the refrigerator 'felt' cold. A temperature gauge stated the internal temperature to be 57 degrees. We called a local 'affordable' repair shop (they'll get their own review!), and they wanted approximately a total of $900 to fix it. We had someone else repair it for substantially less, but the that wasn't the issue. The next repair company wouldn't touch it, as it has too many circuit boards. At that point I was able to locate our original receipt, and bowser, we had bought the 5 year extended warranty. Awesome, right? After filing a repair request, the new repair man came out and was sure of the fix. We loaded it back up with food, only to lose another refrigerator fun of food. After 4 repair attempts, he said it was unrepairable. Assurian demanded he try another fix, which delayed the repair another week. The new part did nothing. We have spent hours, totally about 1.5 days work time, on the phone and in Home Depot in Prescott AZ, trying to resolve this. We have repeatedly called the local repair company, which gives contradictory information than Assurian gives (we have no reason to trust Assurian). We have called and visited the local Home Deopot, and given empty promises. We have called Home Depot corporate offices, only to get more 'we're sorry' responses. It has been 2.5 months, and we are still a week to two weeks away from getting a replacement, but hey, Reese at Home Depot says he;s very understanding, but it's out of his hands. Why would we buy another major appliance from Home Depot? We can't think of a reason, can you? read more

Eek! Methinksnot is true! I normally LOVE home depot but NOT the Prescott Vally store. Such poor customer service - so sad. NObody asked me if I needed help even though 1 worker passed me 4 times while I was looking at weed killers - and not a word. Then I get to the register in the garden dept. and one cashier was working while the other just stood around literally dazed and seeing numerous people in line - and did nothing. I get to my car and try to pick up a large bag of soil out of my cart - struggling horribly (I have a bad back) while a young HD worker walks right past me. This town has a lot of elderly folks and the garden dept should ALWAYS have 2 or 3 available strong men to help people. Every HD I have been to in other towns always has people to help... I guess Lowes will be my new "go to" store since Home Depot doesn't seem to give a s*#t about good customer service anymore! read more

I ordered a snowblower on Feb 4 and it was to be delivered to my house on Feb 11 then on their tracking website it was Feb 18 then it was Feb 23 then Mar 3 when it changed again to Mar 10 I went to the store and tried to get a answer to why it kept changing. Brenda at special orders called Estes who does their deliveries and after 15 minutes on hold talked to someone at Estes who was couldn't find it and was going to check the truck and get back to me. Of course no call back from Homedepot or Estes. So the order was cancelled. Either it was stolen or lost but it wasn't important enough to contact me and let me no what happened no apology either except from Brenda which is the only reason they got 2 stars and not one. We have never been treated so rude as we were by a lady named CJ at this location. Initially, I asked her where the restroom was and she shook her head for some reason and pointed to the back of the store. Secondly, my Dad and I we're waiting at the Penske truck rental for about 20 minutes when we asked CJ if there was someone that could please help us. She absolutely ignored us the first time so we gave it about 10 more minutes and then asked CJ again if she would please call someone. She then became irate and said, "You need to ask the Penske people and wait for them." She then busted open the door and walked up to two men who were just outside, she yelled at both of them and said, "These guys are yelling at me because they need help with their Penske truck." Unacceptable. If you work at Home Depot you should not become irate by customers asking for help. read more

For the sake of your home and your hard earned money, please research companies that actually care about their customers. We had carpet installed from Home Depot, and it really looks like random pieces of carpet were just glued together. They also cut away a portion of the old carpet and didn't replace it with new carpet, so there is tack strip exposed. They also covered our vent in one room. The associate also smoked beside the carpet before it was installed, and left razor blades behind. When we called to complain about the job, the manager stood by the work done. When I called Home Depot corporate, their associate hung up on me! They won't install your carpet correctly, and they won't make it right. I feel like our home has lost value from this experience, and HD keeps removing this review from their page. They do not care about what your home looks like, or that this is a long-term investment. We ordered appliances at this Home Depot in Prescott, Arizona and a couple things happened. One, when the delivery company delivered our appliances they crushed our dishwasher and obviously couldn't install it. They took it back that night. Two, when we finally got the new dishwasher delivered, the delivery/installation company damaged our old dishwasher, didn't disconnect the water line before removing the old dishwasher and caused a leak. Then they said the leak was preexisting and couldn't install our dishwasher. Obviously we were not happy after waiting so long as we had to hire another guy to come install the dishwasher. Three, when they took our old microwave out they damaged a couple parts on the microwave, leaving it pretty worthless and unsellable. Finally, we wanted to get the $50 back that we paid to have the dishwasher installed and were told we couldn't get a refund unless we went back to this Prescott Home Depot (2 hrs from our house). Needless to say, we'll never buy appliances from Home Depot again and will definitely not ever have Home Depot install anything for us. To say this was a very disappointing experience would be an understatement. read more

A recent attempt at returning some tile resining the store manager forcing me to put the return on store credit only. The Prescott Home Depot Garden Center rocks for quality inventory, reasonable prices and friendly, helpful staff. They have more trees, plants and flowers than other nurseries I've visited in the area and have frequent deliveries of new stock. I base this observation on four visits to the center over the last couple weeks. On my last visit, I was dumb enough to misplace my purse as I was loading a tree on a cart. Then couldn't find it. Thanks to Bobbie and Joe for searching all over the place, using Bobbie's cell phone to track the cell phone in my purse, which alerted a customer, who took the purse to Jacque in Customer Service. Props to Shea, the garden center cashier, who let me use her cell phone to call home for help, and also put the word out to staff. They all really cared about my problem and I am grateful for their help! read more

This is about my experience in the tool rental department. I think there were ~3-4 men working that day and all of them were extremely helpful and courteous. I needed to rent a Penske truck last minute to get a sofa I just purchased at Ashley Home Store up to Flagstaff where I live. Unfortunately, after renting and paying for the Penske truck and driving it to Ashley, I never actually left with the sofa because the legs were falling off in the store and I decided to return the sofa. So, now I thought I was out the $135 for the Penske truck, but when I drove back to Home Depot and explained my situation to the worker, he didn't even flinch and immediately started processing a full refund for me, even though I had the truck for about an hour. This Home Depot will always have my business when I'm in Prescott! read more
