Additional Information: I contacted STIHL directly and explained the situation. STIHL, whose products I've used for years and have no problems with, contacted the store and instructed them to give me a refund. The store was made aware of the problem within hours of purchase and I purchased a replacement of the defective product at that time which worked well. The manager the next day refused to give me a refund on the defective unit. When I asked her to inspect the product to verify that it was in new condition, she refused saying that she does not need to and that I broke it. The product was in new and completely unused condition. Occasionally there will be defective products and the purchaser and the merchant should handle this in an honorable manner. read more

I have never been treated so rudely walking into a business establishment in my life. I say this with 20+ experience in Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and Branding Management. I would NEVER hire anyone on my team who talked to potential customers the way this woman did. We are brand new to the area and referred by a person at church to refill propane tanks at this location. We walked in and my husband walked toward the counter directly in front of us. I immediately heard the elderly woman at the left counter who began shouting toward me. She was very aggressive and it was unnecessary. She said it so loudly the people were in line staring at us. It started with YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT IN HERE! YOU NEED TO GET THAT OUT OF HERE NOW! YOU TELL HIM TO GET THAT OUT IF HERE. I apologized and explained we are new here and haven't been in this store before. A customer in line kindly told us that the propane is outside at the end of the building and you push a button for service. Why couldn't she have given us this same information and maybe a smile and welcoming attitude? He clearly felt bad for us for our treatment. I will never step foot in this store again. We will drive further and pay more for anything we need because I will not be treated this badly where I spend my money. Management should be aware of this person. We have friends who own an Ace Hardware and I know this would be completely unacceptable treatment of customers. read more

Tried to buy a fire extinguisher that had multiple $10 off SALE (with membership) signs all around it. It did not ring up with the discount and membership. The cashier shrugged and said, "It's ringing up at $24.99 no discount." I walked back, found a discount sign, attached it to the box and walked over to another sales person telling him it wasn't ringing up correctly. His reply, "That's not my department," as he turned his back on me. So I set it down, walked out and paid $14.99 online for it (the "sale" price). ACE PV this is why you are losing business. Large beautiful Ace , visible from street. Not the friendliest of locations that I've been to in USA, while traveling. Stopped in to get some stuff for grandma while visiting. Not a single employee acknowledged us, or said hello. (Which isn't typical, compared to the 50+ I've been to while traveling) Young guy at register was annoyed when I asked if I could use my Ace rewards $5 coupon, sharply informed me they don't take other stores coupons. Never had heard that at ANY other store I've used them at, but okay. Anyhow store is cute and tons of stuff, big and small. read more

I went today to get some small items. Well my points say I have $5 off. I asked the gentlemen for that off. I offered my number. He said I can't do anything with the points as far as money off. He didn't seem to care. I know this hardware store is small. However why do you have a point system to save money you can't save??? After visiting the Ace Hardware store in Prescott Valley, I noticed their price was five dollars more for the same item that the others Ace hardware stores nearby. I asked for a manager and the manager refused due to store policy to match the other Ace Hardware stores lower price. With this type of business practice, I will not be returning to this Ace Hardware store and recommend others to consider their options. read more

Prescott Valley, Ace Hardware is a store where you can ALWAYS find Staff who are interested in helping you!! I needed my sliding screen door re-screened and a protective screen added to the bottom so my dog will not continue to ruin my sliding screen door! Jim, who is the most amazing "re-screener", did an incredible job. He even came up with a way to keep my large dog from getting around the "dog guard" and continuing to put holes in my screen. I cannot say enough about the quality of the job, the kindness, the interest in problem solving, and the fair price. I know where I can go to find the tools, and the people to answer my questions. I was having a problem with a GFI outlet. Talked to Gary in Electrical about it. My GFI is 15+ years old in my garage and keeps tripping. We talked and due to age and weakness from tripping replaced it. So no more false Tripping. Gary has helped me several times before. Service is king here. Hardware shopping can be very complicated--intimidating--but the staff at Ace Hardware are friendly, understanding and exceptionally competent. They never fail to get me what I need, and with outstanding advice. Sure, you might pay more here than you would at Home Depot or Lowe's--that is, if you know what you want and can find it right away. But, Ace Hardware is a a real, neighborhood, friendly business. OK I'm crazy happy with PV ACE again but this time it was the Stihl Service Dept. Took in a weed whacker and chain saw. Repairs done rapidly and didn't charge too much. Great results, both now work like a charm. I used to shop the bigger stores but Ace has forced me to place more value on advice and great customer service over saving a few bucks. OMG! Gary in electrical made my day recently. What a great experience shopping for dimmers for my home. We are doing a complete remodel on our own, even though I have no experience with this type of thing. My husband is constantly sending me out to get things I have no idea on. Gary was such a help! He asked the important questions, recommended brands and other items we would need for our home, saving me return trips and time. My husband was overjoyed with the things I brought back.
