Our Needs/Background: Wish to build a modest, detached 2/2 ADU Stay within a tight budget Unfamiliar with City Plan Check Process Eager to not get in our own way (though a work in progress) For us, building an ADU would meet our family needs and we began our project by contacting several Residential Architects in our general area (Ontario, CA). 6 firms responded with proposals, 4 walked our property. For the 2 firms that did not walk our lot, we did not review their proposals, obviously. Of the 4 that took the time during this pandemic to safely meet, Ramy stood out because he took the time to listen, provided thoughtful explanations to our questions, and offered a reasonable fee. He did not have to do that but did without us newbies having to ask. Our plans passed our City plan check process with only 1 re-submittal (minimal corrections at that). I met Ramy through referral from a friend. I wanted to build and ADU on my property. I interviewed a few engineers and architects to do the job, but there was no follow up on their end. I was nervous about the process and dealing with the county of Riverside and permitting a building. Ramy came out to inspect the site. I told him what I was looking to do and some reason, I felt very comfortable with him. He sent me the initial draft within three weeks. I was very impressed and extremely happy. I then approved his design with minor modifications. A month later, I got a the complete plan with the engineering ready to be submitted to the county of Riverside. After submitting there were a few obstacles to overcome like septic, water well, and location of my property. Every time I called Ramy he answered right away or called me back within a few minutes. He gave me very useful advice and always reassured me he would be there for me throughout the entire process with permits and everything. Until now I'm still in constant contact with him and he never shows any frustration. He is always very calm and helpful with all of my questions. Again this is my first time building an ADU and he is walking me through the whole process. I highly recommend him to whoever needs remodeling or new construction done on their property. I am so pleased that I entrusted Ramy with the design of my Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). I showed him some design ideas I had been working on for a small house for my mother-in-law, Nancy. When he came to visit the site, he had some marvelous suggestions for changes, including turning the ADU 90 degrees. After his first draft design was complete, he answered questions from Nancy and me, and incorporated our ideas for change. There are a number of qualities that stand out for Ramy. Chief among them is his integrity; I felt all along I could trust him fully, and he has not let me down. Another important quality is his willingness to see the project up to and through the permitting process. Ramy has been a terrific ally of mine when working with the city. He has been in touch with them personally--usually by phone--to understand their requirements and relate them to me. He has been very patient when explaining things I did not fully understand. Ramy is amazing, responded and made himself available right away for consultation for a new old home we were considering purchasing. He was thorough in his consultation, went over photos and came to the house to help us investigate. He was excited about the project, but not just for himself but for us. He was honest in his appraisal so much so that he gave us excellent ideas and suggestions but also letting us know that mostly we had a great house with good bones, and didn't really need us to have him draw out conclusive detailed plans, as it was so simple, but rather save this expense by going with a reliable contractor for our immediate needs. We hired Ramy to redo the layout of the first floor of our house. This was our first major home renovation and so we didn't really understand how to distinguish between what was possible, what was reasonable, and what was a completely terrible idea. He was able to translate our vague and crazy asks into a concrete floor plan and create solutions we couldn't even begin to imagine. He also wasn't afraid to tell us straight up what wouldn't work which ultimately saved us a bunch of time. He would clarify sometimes that what we were talking about was *possible* but that we would be better off just rebuilding the entire house. Our project was pretty intricate and involved a lot of changes to the framing of the house. Ramy provided very detail-oriented plans which were accepted at county on the first try! This was fantastic because we had heard it's not uncommon for plans to require many rounds of changes and many months of waiting before they get approved. In summary, Ramy is very nice and very good. Everything you're reading that is praise of Ramy and his team is 100% true. I've worked with investors since 2017 but my first personal purchase was a SFR in Corona with a partially converted garage on the lot. I shopped around and received quotes from 4 different architects to do the work. Ramy had the best reviews but was also on the more expensive side. Once we talked and met at the site I felt good about him being the one for the job, so I moved forward. I don't regret it at all, to make a long review short Ramy was responsive with all of my questions throughout the process and got our plans approved after two rounds of revisions. The city of Corona knew who Ramy was right away and said it themselves that he's a great architect to work with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RAMY and will be using him for all of my projects. read more

SO!!!!! I have SO much to say and not enough space to write. Artoo Design saved my business. Before hiring Ramy I hired a company called lake view designs. The so called architect was not even licensed and is a complete fraud. He completely lied about pulling permits, paying fines, and completing tasks that I had paid him to do. His name was Mike Martinez. So be very careful who you hire. Ramy at Artoo designs pulled all my permits. Met with me numerous times at the city to get things expedited. He is the most honest, brilliant, reliable, trustworthy man in the business by far. The previous company left me in a serious bind and Artoo designs was the best choice I could have ever made for the job.
