What a fun place! This studio is about a half an hour away from me, but is my favorite studio so it's very worth the trip. Most pottery places have both a studio fee in addition to the price of the piece. At this studio, however, you only pay for the price of the piece. The "No studio fee" makes me want to spend more on a piece to work on. The workers have been the same for years and are all very helpful. A petite girl with brown hair helped us and was very patient while I decided what mixed media project I would choose. My boyfriend painted a pottery piece while I painted a butterfly and then added mosaics to it. Aside from pottery and mosaics, other crafts include candle making and glass infused pieces. A wide selection of paints, mosaics, pottery pieces, etc. It's perfect for a get together with friends or a date activity. I began visiting as a teacher on school trips with my job years ago. Therefore, I had my daughter's birthday party at this place in May 2024. The lead woman tasked with the party was incredibly rude and condescending toward the children. My daughter and her friends are about 3-4 years old. Many of my guests were taken back at the way she spoke to the children and conducted the party. (I don't think this age group was her strong suit.) After a horrible party, the clerk at the register did not realize I was still in the store and stated, "Thank God they left." I was incredibly hurt and taken aback as all we did was play music from 'Trolls" and the children were so well-behaved. After the incident, I proceeded to call the owner, Karen. I was met with resistance from the staff to get access to her. When I finally reached her, she listened to my concerns and asked how she could make it right, I asked her to think about it and call me back with what she thought was appropriate. I am still waiting for that call two months later. I have tried the store several times afterward and she obviously is dodging my calls. My aunt and I went here twice. The first time we painted a saramic of our choice I painted a fairy tale mushroom.The second time we did mosaic art. I made a picture frame. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Whenever we needed help or had a question they came over with our hesitation. They have meter parking. The location is very nice. Visit Date: March 20, 2021 I was wondering what to do with my son for the day and he had previously mentioned he wanted to paint at a ceramics place because we had visited a few before. I called Artrageous because it's right by where I'm living now and I got a reservation for my son, myself and my dad. My dad didn't want to paint, I chose a coffee mug to paint my son chose a bank and a little kitty cat. We had fun painting our pieces and can't wait to pick them up when they're glazed in a few weeks. I've gone here a good amount of times and bring/recommend family/friends. I really like all the options with paint, stamps, brushes, and the pottery. I appreciate the employees always asking if we're familiar with the process and or giving us a detailed explanation. Tables are already set since you call ahead to come in, which is convenient. The pottery is very nice, at first glance it might seem pricey but considering there's no sitting fee, it's understandable. Every piece I've made and brought home has made me very happy. This is a nice place to visit for children (in my opinion) 5 years old and above. There is a decent selection of pieces to choose from and the price is based on the item you select to paint. The assistants are very friendly and helpful. You will need to paint your item three times so make sure you have at least an hour to spare. It can be a bit pricey depending on the piece you're painting. The place is kept clean and orderly. I think it would make for a great adult paint night, if they cared to offer that. I had no idea this art activity would be so calming for me. We (a friend and our combined three girls) booked a 3 hour table and used every second of it. Staff were super helpful and there's so many choices. We had a secret mission making Father's Day gifts disguised as an all Girls Play date! So for those that don't know they offer a space to paint clay pottery and /or glass. They have a large selection mugs, trays, cups, plaques, etc to choose from. You pay for your selection then have access to paints and tools to beautify in your own way. They then schedule your artwork to be sealed by baking it for pick up at a later date. Ours are expected in 2 weeks. We had a great time! Looking forward doing this again and maybe inviting the boys. read more

Staff does not like customers! Several are very rude, they seem annoyed when people come in. They r very unorganized, we waited to be rung up a very long time and asked how they were supposed to know whose ceramic was whose... we said, "probably the names on the back..." ‍. We had to make several follow up visits to the store to pick up our ceramics because the first time they couldn't find them, the second time they mixed them up with another families ceramics. We would have been willing to overlook the very overpriced pieces (compared to other ceramic places in LI) for good service and fun had by our children but obviously that's not the case. Call before you go to make sure they're taking walk ins. Their schedule changes so even if it says they're open/closed - give a call to make sure. The wall of pottery to paint is huge. They're doing a sale on ornaments buy 2 get one free. They range like $20 and up. There's a bargain wall I wish I would have seen where you can find "out of season" molds. Anyway! The day trip was a hit! I selected a cereal bowl because I like to have useful household items instead of decorative ones but by all means choose as you please! They're a little pricier than some other paint shops I've been to. But none the less they're very accommodating! You chose your own table which is already stocked with supplies; paint brushes, sponges, napkins and pallet. If you're particular- be ready to spend a decent chunk of time painting every little crevasse a different color. I easily spent 4 hours on one bowl! I did see some child made molds that another client was picking up and I have to say they were adorable. So even if you can't paint well and your colors mix into each other and you're not creative at all- your piece will still glaze over to be the cutest creation! I think this is perfect for a first date, birthday party, girls night. It's so much fun! And you get something everlasting out of it. Wait time is roughly 2 weeks to get your glazed piece back. Staff was not the most helpful. They were pretty hands off. I felt a little put off when I called to make a reservation and was told that they were making an "exception" for me to come at a certain time. I said I was more than happy to come at a normal appointment time but I just didn't know. They told me know but went on and on about how they were making an exception for us. They were in the back the whole time and not there to assist when paint was clogged etc. Prices are VERY expensive. Don't expect to go there and spend less than $50 a piece. Two things I love: 1. Art (Pottery) 2. Wine Pottery+Wine+Friends= my Friday night. I couldn't think of a better way to catch up with my friends from home. ARTrageous! is an adorable find in the heart of Rockville Center. It's a fun alternative to the other sorts of debauchery we find ourselves in while visiting RVC. Friday is BYOB* night. Call ahead of time (day of is fine) and reserve a table. They want you to come at 6:30pm-9:30pm but if you walk in a bit later that's fine. They offer a hearty selection of snacks. We had pizza, strawberries, cake, veggies, etc. Don't be shy about grabbing seconds**... they basically come to your table telling you to take more. When you walk in, to your left you'll see an array of different pieces to choose from. Yes, some can get pretty expensive. But the average piece is about $20-$30. A little mug may be like $10 and the giant platter may cost $45. So plan accordingly. Once you pick your piece, bring it to the register where you can pay. They have a wall of paints that you can choose from (hardest decision of my day, no joke) and they display what each of the colors will look like once fired. Very convenient. Grab as many paints/brushes as you like... you can bring them to your table so you don't have to keep getting up for more. ARTrageous! played fun, upbeat music throughout the night. I was glad to see that even on a reallyyyy cold day (thanks polar vortex) it was packed. There were people of all ages (above 21 of course) and both men/women. My friends and I brought some Riesling and had a blast. The staff members were so nice and said that if we didn't finish, we can always take some of the supplies home. And it takes about 2 weeks, (depending on how busy they are) till you can pick up your finished piece. I ended up painting a chip/dip plate (see pic) which was very fun. If you're looking for a relaxing night out, I'd highly recommend coming here. I can tell people think it's pretty pricey... but for the amount of supplies, food, atmosphere, space, service and selection of pieces... it's worth it. __________________________________ *People don't mess around with their drinks. I painted a mug for over $30. when you have a little kid that finishes painting one item within 5 minutes, this is a pricey activity for an hour of your time. they also leave you on your own and don't provide creative instruction or ideas. they say you can ask for help but they're always in the back, making it awkward to ask about anything. read more

First off, can Rockville Centre be anymore fun outside of the wicked bars and restaurants? The answer is YES.... ARTrageous brings arts and crafts to a friendly and playful level for all ages. From the window display all the way to the back wall of the store, my eyes wandered back and forth from the cute pottery, mosaics, and glass projects. I was set on the wall of mosaics. If you're anything like me, you might be a little overwhelmed with options and new directions to follow. There were so many templates and tiles to choose from. Luckily I just went with something I love which was this cute giraffe! The staff of girls made the process so easy to follow. All the utensils were easily accessible and safe. I saw groups of kids painting ceramics, grandparents with their grandchildren working on projects, and even a group of young adults having a cheese & wine party along with their art work in the back! Considering the amount of materials used to complete one project, the prices listed in the store are more than reasonable. For my mid-sized mosaic, the cost was about $35. I used a template, tiles, tile cutter, glue, and grout. Buying all the materials in a crafts store would probably be more than what I paid so I was very content with my final payment. Small painting projects tend to cost less than those in the mosaic and glass fusion projects. Second of all, everything in ARTrageous is worth a try! this place is absolutely outstanding. I did a fundraiser craft for my daughter's school and every single person in the studio was so helpful and wonderful. I did several platters with small children hand prints on the platters as auction items for the school. Kate picked out amazing colors for the platter. Joanna helped me pick the style of platter and Michelle helped me with check out and packaging. Liz was the artist who made the platters look amazing and got them to me when I needed them for the auction. Liz was so meticulous making sure each child's name was elegantly written on the platter and everything she did made these platters absolutely gorgeous. Overall, I am so impressed by everyone in this store. The place is friendly and inviting with reasonable prices for everything. It's clean, organized and well run. I would highly suggest coming to ARTrageous to anyone and made the trek from the city to get my platters done here as they were all so wonderful and accommodating. This place is super neat, organized, bright and airy, and has very attentive and kind employees my 7 year old and 3 yr old had tons of fun painting here, they are not cheap with their supplies at all which I like (but I guess that's because your paying for them ) The only thing I'd say on the negative side is that it is very costly even the smaller pieces that would take minutes to color were costly....I feel when you go to a place like this you want to spend time here but with the cost that's kinda hard to do because your kids will be done with the little pieces in minutes read more

I came here with my boyfriend on a date and we enjoyed ourselves. We painted a martini glass and I painted a wine glass. The staff was so nice and they had so many paint options. They had stencils, stamps, and so many creative ideas to help you think of artistic ideas. It was so clean and such a nice place. They also have byob fridays which is so good for a ladies night! It was totally disrespectful the way the staff treated my friends son who is 2 years old. He did not enter wearing a mask , and was told he had to ( which my friend was okay with ) however , when she went to go get her sons mask from the car , they made this poor two year old stand by the door because his mask wasn't on. The joy was totally taken out of the day for how disrespectful their tone was. Then when we finally sat and he had his mask on , it fell slightly below his nose and she came over and said to the 2 year old " put it over your nose or I have to ask you to leave . A friend and I decided to come here to see what it was all about. Hannah did a tutorial with us on how it works, where everything is, and different techniques we can try. She made is so easy for us and even helped us pick out what we wanted to do. We sat down and I noticed how clean everything was. The store was beautiful decorated with painted pottery. I was searching for for something to do with my son on the weekend that was local considering that this past weekend was brutally cold and we still had a ton of snow. I actually found this place in yelp. This place is very clean, neat and offers a nice space for families to come and do arts and crafts together. They offer canvas painting, wine bottle painting, wine glass painting and painting of pottery. I decided to do pottery painting. They have a variety of pottery and paints to choose from. The prices are reasonable. The thing that I love is that you go and pick the piece that you would like to paint and all the pieces have the prices on display. You only pay for the piece that you pick, and the paint, supplies, firing, and glazing of your piece is all included. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Another thing that I like is that if u don't finish painting your piece you can take it home and bring it back to finish it free of charge. Another plus is that the bathroom is clean. But when my wife calls me to tell me how rude and nasty she was treated, along with my two children ages 5 & 2 I had to write my first one. Yelling at young children to put their masks on when they never had them off to begin with, even after how my wife was treated she still wanted to do something fun for the kids. This place is really cute, and it is fun. However, it is extremely expensive to be treated disrespectfully. We had a mom's night out here last night, and we were all having a blast. We brought some wine and were painting our pottery, blabbing away. At about twenty after 9, they started VACUUMING while we were still sitting there, and then at 3 minutes after 930 (when our session ended) they kicked us out by clearing the table and the girl said, "Well, I would like to go home." After paying over $30 to paint a tiny ceramic ornament that I could get in Michaels for $2.99, I felt that was rude and unacceptable. All TEN of us in our group thought that as well. In addition, you paint your pottery and then have to go pick it up after it is fired.. TWO WEEKS later. Why such a long wait? I would love to do something like this again, but not here. :( read more

Nice relaxing place! Soft music and you just paint with whom ever you came with at a little table where the supplies are already set up. Good prices on pottery also expected to spend a fortune. When I went they were also having a baby shower in the party area and in the end they showed what they had made and let me just say GORGEOUS! It was the sweetest little frame where everyone got to put their personalized tile into a spot that made up one big frame.
