It was the highest rated places I'd clicked on and has some good reviews so decided to stop by. What a great choice!! While small, it has charm & staff & patrons were so kind & friendly. Shed, and Art's was the perfect spot! They have so many classic Chicago favorites like burgers, Polish sausages, Italian beefs, and more. I ordered the burger with fries, and they were very generous with the portion of fries -- you could honestly share an order with a friend. We also got the mozzarella sticks, and they were delicious! I stopped by Art's for the first time on Friday night and I was absolutely blown away by my experience. My fiancé was looking for a quick late night bite and I suggested Art's since we live close by but have never been in. I was quickly surprised in the best way to find not only does Art's serve "normal" food at 11pm at night but also breakfast food which is my FAVORITE, especially at late hours. My fiancé ordered a breakfast sandwich and a shake which he went out of his way to say how much he enjoyed both (and he is typically hard to please food-wise). I only got a fresh squeezed OJ as I wasn't hungry but man, was that orange juice delightful and refreshing. Beyond the food and late night hours, I want to call out how absolutely exceptional the service was. I have never experienced anything like it, in the best of ways. The man who took our order was one of the kindest, most welcoming people I have ever come in contact with and food aside, he is the reason we will be regulars going forward. I have never felt more like family after just walking into an establishment and I am so appreciative for such awesome, 11/10 service. I work overnights in the area and decided to give this spot a try after work one day, best decision I could've made. I placed an order for a bacon breakfast burrito online and was ready by the time I got there (about 10 minutes). The ambiance and design of the place really stood out to me when I was parking and when I walked in to pick up, really reminded me of a classic 60's joint. The guy who handed me my order was delightful, making sure that salsa was in the bag and sending me off with the words "You're gonna love it!". He was right, that breakfast burrito was one of the best ones I've tried in the city and will definitely be returning to try more from Art's after the quality experience I had with this place. If there were awards for outstanding customer service then Alex deserves all the accolades. It was crazy raining and we walked in, greeted with a smile and patience. He came around talked to patrons and also the kids, gave a free donut too. Waited for a seat but well worth the wait. Stopped in since I heard they reopened after a fire. It's the same layout, now just more modernized. It's under new management but still in the family. A was greeted with a hearty "Hello!!" from the guy behind the counter. I told him I just need a moment. I decided to try skirt steak sandwich. I received my skirt steak and after the first tender bite, it took me back. The garlic bread was buttery and garlicky. The lettuce, tomatoes and grilled onions all added to the taste. The fresh cut fries were salted well and really stood up the secret French fries dip. I don't know what makes up the dip, but it was so good, I put some on my skirt steak sandwich. For dessert I tried one of their doughnuts, it was dusted with cinnamon and sugar. It was superb. Light and fluffy without being too sweet. I visited this restaurant yesterday and was there for over an hour enjoying the various items on the menu. For starters, the Italian beef sandwich was like no other, the bread was not overly saturated, the beef was tender and flavorful and the amount of peppers were perfect! The onion rings and customized dipping sauce was delish! I think this restaurant skips the seed oils and uses olive oil because the taste was totally different than what I have ever had. The Greek yogurt and Greek honey was to die for, my gut microbiome was pleased as my face was glowing in the morning; zero puffiness. I finished my meal with green tea and a splash of Greek honey which I need to go back and purchase as it was like no other. The service was the best I have ever experienced. I cannot believe how lucky we were to come across Art's! We were kayaking and our tour guide mentioned it. We were hungry afterwards and it was open late so we decided to stop by. I have to start by saying, we were treated as family from the time we walked in to the time we left. The food is incredible, yes, but the atmosphere and the banter was the best part. We were immediately warmly welcomed. We ordered a hotdog and Greek fries and my husband decided he *needed* the pastrami burger as well. I'm so glad he did. The owner referred to it as life changing and he wasn't wrong. The most insane and flavorful burger and pastrami I've ever had. My husband labeled it the best burger he's ever had in his life, and I definitely agree. The Greek fries were incredible. The feta was amazing and the lemon flavoring on them was perfect. When we decided to come to Chicago for the weekend, I took HOURS researching food and restaurants. Art's was never on my list but ended up being the best food BY FAR that we had the entire trip. The steak & eggs remind me of the Golden Nugget in Vegas back in the days where they were the best in town for $2.99. One of my favorites is the Biftekia dinner which is flavorful and filling. Their salads are fresh they make hashbrowns the way I like: cut up in pieces, not like the shredded kind you find in greasy cheap diners. The Philly cheesesteak might have been the best, but the hand breaded chicken tenders, I ordered for my kid but had to steal a few since the flavor was incredible. I'm a long time customer of Arts Drive-In of the old regime and the new regime. I'm at the new owner and he was personable attentive and busy making everything run and work together. I ordered the Philly cheese steak and it was delicious. The beef was well seasoned and combined with white American cheese. Now it wasn't the best I ever had like the owner said but the sandwich deserves to be noted! Open till midnight and they serve breakfast all day long. At 11pm @ night the place was still busy. They must be doing something right. There is table sitting as well as counter-row sitting against the window. Just a friendly side note to the owner, if he wanted to hit that Philly cheese steak out the ball park. Toast the bread with some garlic butter!
