I love this place, and it is so personable with Arturo and his wife always being there to great the guests. Food is wonderful, well priced so we can go often, love love the fresh salsa. I love this little hidden place in Hemet. I've lived down the street from here for 3 years but never knew about this place because it's hidden in the back, but once I discovered it I loved it and keep coming back. We have been fans of Arturo's since the early 90's when it was on Harvard Street. It is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been in, and I am a native Angelino where some of the best places are located. The best part of walking into Arturo's for me is the personalized greeting from the "man himself." And, even though he is the "boss," he's not afraid to clear a table, or serve up a meal when it gets busy. Stay strong Arturo. read more

Unbelievable disrespectful staff with terrible customer service, called over the phone to ask a question and the rude old lady laughed at me and hung up on me. Been here about 5 times and they have decent food but I'll make sure everyone I know along with myself never gives them any business. Thanks to the lady who answered the phone and laughed at me when I called back she threatened she has my phone number as if she planned on harassing me and continued calling me "little girl", you've lost all respect and potential business. Wife and I ate here last night based on a local recommendation. We were disappointed ! The food was only fair and the service was "amateurish." The beans were better than average as was the margarita and the beer was cold. We were told that the food eas authentic but it was hardly so. The musicians were a nice touch but the place had way to much lighting. We were offered free flan and rice pudding after our meal and accepted...both were fair but appreciated. Let's start by saying it was HOT outside...and it was too warm inside. Was greeted immediately in a reasonably friendly way and escorted to our table. The waitress asked us something...none of us were sure what she said. Was she trying to take our drink order? Extremely difficult communication with her, though she was friendly. I asked if they had Margaritas and she said yes so I ordered one...I didn't know they were WINE margaritas!! Had I known I'd NEVER have ordered it! All in all, it wasn't the worse one I'd ever had, but still not the same as a regular one. We asked several questions and I felt the 2nd waitress (the one who actually came to take our food order) wasn't in the mood to be there. Yes, it was hot, etc., but you're AT WORK. You have to make people as happy as possible in the restaurant industry (if you want them to return)! We received our food fairly quickly, but it was an extremely easy order. As a vegetarian, I ordered vegetable fajitas with extra rice instead of beans (they have lard). The 'extra' rice looked like an ordinary amount to me. I received a HUGE pile of onions and green peppers...was disappointed not to see tomato in there! It was ok; not great, but edible. No one offered the rice pudding (though the menu said it came with my meal). No one checked on us throughout the entire meal. When our check came, one of my friends mentioned they'd charged for guacamole and chips, though no one told us there'd be a charge for that (menu says it's free, unless you order larger sizes, which we didn't). I was kind of surprised, also, that they fully charged me for the meal...$13 for a plate of onions and green peppers with about 3/4 cup of rice! We won't be going back. We're disappointed; we were looking for a new place and had actually attempted to go here several times and found them closed (apparently they're closed on Wednesdays, for some unknown reason. As a matter of fact, the last time we'd tried to go here we'd forgotten it was Wednesday and was closed...another vehicle was there with a few people apparently trying to go there also. They must lose a lot of business by being closed on Wednesdays!). read more

My friends and I usually enjoy Arturo's but the other evening we did not receive the greatest service. Arturo's wife sat us, Arturo took our order and another associate brought out drinks and food. It was a bit chaotic. The food was not as good as usual either. There was very little red sauce on our combo plates. We had to get up to get our bill and get boxes for our food. I know that they recently remodeled a bit but the restaurant needs an update. When I leaned on the back of my booth it tipped back a bit. Not too safe. In any event. We will return and hope that this was just a bad day read more

Nice atmosphere, loved the stainglass windows. Very clean, embroidered linens under glass on the tables, condiments on the tables included oregano . We were served chips and fresh salsa along with fresh guacamole without additional charge! Prices were very fair and food was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. This was our first time and will now be our go to Mexican restaurant in Hemet. read more

Great lil hidden spot. tried all the other Mexican places in Hemet over the years. this one is very good. very affordable ( basic combo for $7 ) free GUAC with the chips and free rice pudding or flan for desert. Been twice - each time food was excellent. Hemet mexican compared to San Diego mexican believe it or not are worlds apart. I still cannot find a carne asada burrito here in Hemet that doesn't have beans and rice stuffed in it. Why is my question ruin a good carne asada burrito. My husband and grandaughter have breakfast at Arturo's every weekend on their way out of town. We decided to hold her 16th birthday party in their party room. Twenty-seven people, family and her teenage friends enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch (we did have to bring the cake). Everyone raved about the food! The owner even made a special order for a guest who is vegetarian. The service was great. When we paid the bill I couldn't believe how reasonable it was.
