Straight up standard fair here at Taqueria El Toro. Not gonna blow your socks off, but it's good. Had the 3 Street Tacos Combo. Comes with sides of rice and beans, drink, and red or green salsa. I go green as it's less spicy. Since frequenting Kalaveras, I hold them as the high bar standard for street tacos. Sorry El Toro... you're not on their level. Nevertheless, you should... Birria ramen sounded really good on a cold rainy day so I found Taqueria El Toro. I ordered a bowl of birria ramen, 2 quesabirria tacos w consome, and a large horchata. The birria was absolute fire!! The consome was very tasty!! Salsa was very hot (even for me, who has a very high spice tolerance), but i poured it all in my birria ramen which gave it an extra spicy kick that I enjoyed very much!! All of the aguas are homemade, so of course I had to try their horchata. It was so good and definitely had that yummy homemade taste!! Service was very pleasant and helpful. Plenty of outside seating, and parking is on a private lot. Prices were decent. I can't wait to come back to try other items. Birria and horchata are really, really good though. Miguel watched us come inside before closing time and told us they couldn't serve us! There were other people inside who were being served, yet he would not serve us! Don't advertise a closing time and not honor it when you have willing patrons who come to spend money in your establishment! To turn away a family while you are still open is wild as hell! Do not go there before 8pm because even though they say Open, they will refuse service! read more

Yes! Came back on Tuesday with friends from HI and the tacos did not disappoint! Appreciated the customer service from the cashier and the staff preparing the tacos. Stopped by here on a whim. It was mid morning and it was one of the few shops open. I ordered the nopal and carne asada tacos since they didn't have Lengua. My friends ordered the burritos. The carne asada was a little dry but the salsa helped a little and I wasn't too big a fan of the nopal. The service was great however and really fast. Just wish there were more options I could've chose from. There was a lot of seating as it was morning but we ordered our food to go and didn't end up eating at the restaurant. read more

We were out in the middle of nowhere (at least to us) to enjoy the desert bloom, which was really beautiful. After a couple of miles of hiking we had worked up a good appetite. I just had the sense that there had to be some good authentic mexican food in the area and started searching on Yelp. After a few other choices, this came up and I knew this was the place. If you are coming here expecting a posh atmosphere, you need to reset the expectations. Thankfully, we had in mind a place that specializes in tacos in a clean environment. This was it. We walked in and everything was clean and inviting. The individual taking our order was very pleasant and patient with us as we bombarded her with questions. We ordered several tacos - seafood, steak, etc. - and also got steak nachos. Everything was FANTASTIC. We debated what made it so good - was it the tortillas? Fresh ingredients? The cheese? All of the above? Doesn't matter. They were bomb. Best we have had since El Fogon in Playa Del Carmen. read more

Drove by this place many times and decided to stop in. Got a carnitas burrito. One of the best I have had. Supper sized, but doesn't feel like a brick in you stomach after you eat it. Must be the quality ingredients. Clean and nice people running the place. Definitely go there. read more

This spot is one of the best Mexican food restaurants I've had in the Inland Empire!! Everything is fresh and so clean! I love that it's a family owned restaurant. Will continue coming here and supporting this hardworking family! Do not let the negative comments discourage you from coming here, if you are from Hemet you know the serious issues the city faces with homelessness. Was excited to try this place after reading good reviews on Yelp. They're open for dine in or takeout. The restaurant was clean inside and they make homemade tortillas. They have meats varying from carne asada, pollo, carnitas, to more rare things like buche, tripa, and lengua. The buche was good and the carne asada has good flavor. I found the carnitas to be really dry and not very flavorful and the Birria also was fatty and lacking in flavor. The rice was good as was the horchata. Staff was friendly and prices reasonable. Kinda skimpy on cilantro, onions, and salsas though. read more

The food was very good and we thought it was very authentic considering other Mexican places in the area! Service was good, very personable, we had questions about the menu Lorenzo explain very well! Prices were somewhat cheaper than other places in the county! Had different meats which my husband tried and were excellent! The new owner own 4 other restaurants in MKE area and this is the 5th with 2 Food Trucks servicing the area and beyond. They were in Oshkosh the entire weekend at several events!! Wish them the best as we need restaurants like this in the area! I have worked in restaurants and bars, managed both so I am very critical and like to see good food, good management and GOOD service so I will give a review good or bad. Good is always the best of course but bad criticism can be helpful and actually be of help to the establishment to improve the issue. One of the best places in the city. They have the sweetest owners & they are very humble. They have good food, I Definitely love their taco Tuesday car meets! Tacos were delicious! I ordered two birria tacos with consome. It came with onion, cilantro, lime, and a red hot sauce. The sauce was pretty spicy but so delicious! The tacos were hot, flavorful, and juicy. I got them on a hard shell tortilla and the crunchiness was amazing. I also ordered a large horchata, and unfortunately it was too grainy/floury. My boyfriend ordered a carne asada torta that was seasoned well and the meat was tender and savory. They took about 15 minutes to give us our food and there was probably like one other person there. Definitely gives that authentic Mexican restaurant vibe. Giving this 3 stars and not 4 because the tacos messed up my stomach (most likely from all the grease), but other than that good flavor, might come back here again. read more

I got the pepino limon, very tasty but the horchata took the win. I got the fish taco plate which came with two tacos and a side of rice and beans. We also got the asada burrito which was massive and we tried a mulita de pastor. All sooo good. Plus the sauces they give is like the cherry on top. We left no crumbs. Service was fast and very friendly.
