I'm kinda on the fence about my rating. I'm also super picky about Mexican food and I have very high standards. I'd give it a 3.5 if I could. Here's why: Free chips and guacamole. Seriously? My regular place charges you after the first serving of chips. And who provides a serving of guacamole at no charge? This is pretty awesome. Free dessert. The flan I ordered was free. FREE! But it was also tiny. But what do I care, it was free. I love free stuff. Albondigas. Disappointing. I ordered the large, it had three meatballs. Two baby carrots and some very sad rice. No condiments provided, those only come with the menudo. Carnitas, good flavor but dry. Portion size, reasonable. No, you won't leave hungry but you can't share a meal. Value, excellent. Their prices are very reasonable. A family of four with two beers and two sodas can eat for about $50. I recommend it if you're a fan of menudo or on a budget. read more

I went to Perris to visit my aunt, and she recommended this place. The food, service, and company were wonderful. They allowed me to bring my emotional support dog inside as well, she is registered and has her license. I have been looking for a restaurant that knows how to prepare milanesa for YEARS, and I think I finally found it. The milanesa plate was prepared thin, crispy, and the perfect amount of seasoning. The plate came with beans and rice, as well as a side salad. My partner ordered tacos and my aunt got their breakfast. We were driving through Hemet, and on a whim, we stopped and dined at Arturos. We had never been there before. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered a two item combination plate with beans and rice, and the price was $9.99 per plate. The meals were served with warm tortilla chips, homemade salsa, and a side of freshly made, chunky guacamole. At the end of the meal, a complimentary, mini bowl of homemade rice pudding was also served. I observed that their menu also offered a 12 oz. t-bone steak dinner for $14.99, and a prime rib dinner for $15.99. They also offer a meal of frog legs. This family-owned business began in 1987 and is run by several generations of friendly family. If you are ever in a Hemet, stop in. You won't regret it! My only regret is that I didn't stumble onto this restaurant sooner! read more

I am a big supporter of local business so I decided to visit Arturos. I went on a Friday evening expecting it be busy but it was surprisingly open. We were seated quickly by a friendly server, drinks were ordered, my wife had a coke and I had a water. I decided on the combo platter carne asada burrito and my wife wanted to try the Arturo Enchilada Special. While we waited for our dinner our server brought a bowl of chips and salsa and a side bowl of guacamole. I was excited to try the salsa, unfortunately it had no flavor and no heat. It's hard describe but the only word that comes to mind is bad. Thank goodness for the guacamole because we had something to dip our chips in and that was just okay. Our dinners finally arrived, my burrito looked good. It had enchilada sauce and covered with cheese. Unfortunately the meat inside didn't look or taste like carne asada, when chewing it had more of a liver like texture. I was able to stomach part of it because of the cheese and sauce. My wife's enchiladas were covered in a mole sauce which to me sounded disgusting but my wife who is of Mexican descent enjoys mole but not this mole. She said it had a strong taste of burnt chiles and this did not make her happy. I thought to myself well at least we have the rice pudding to look forward to....this never came, but our bill sure did. I don't like to leave a bad review especially when the service was so good but the kitchen for lack of better word was just bad. I'm only sharing my experience and hope that everyone tries Arturo's at least once to share their experience. Maybe I went on an off night, one thing I can recommend is that they prepare their own beans and not just heat up something coming out of can. read more

You walk in and are instantly family. They start you with chips, salsa and delicious guacamole. I ordered the Carne asada burrito and it was jammed with steak. My daughter ordered the Chiliquiles and while she makes them better at home these are a close second. To end your meal they serve complimentary rice pudding that is wonderful! Went to breakfast here and after entering thru a filthy parking lot entrance we we're told to sit anywhere by the chef/ cook . The waitress arrived with menus and after drinks were brought I asked for salsa and chips as past reviews were raving about them. She explained that our rules don't serve them until 10 am! She said if you want them it is $3.50. ( It was 9:30 in the morning) . So we ordered huevos rancheros and an American breakfast of ham and eggs. The ham and eggs were delicious but the huevos ranchero were a disappointment as the red sauce was enchilada sauce and I asked for light cheese which was a blend of Jack and cheddar like you get at Winco! The sauce was bland and the salad that came with it was wet! I asked if they charge for chili's toreados and she said $ 2.50 for an order. I refused them. Come on, $2.50?? You can buy 3 lbs at Cardenas for .$.99 cents! Finally at time to pay I handed my guest check to our surly waitress and she told me next time you have to go to the cashiers stand, which happened to be right behind our table! I sarcastically apologized and said I would appreciate a rules book next time! 2 stars for the American breakfast! Won't be back, I don't know the rules, sorry! read more

Best Menudo in Town, I Love the Menudo! Wife and I stopped in for a quick pickup order, ordered menudo, tostada and 3 wet bean and cheese burritos. Placed order and our food was ready within 5-10 mins. Fed our family of 5 including our teenage boys for under $30. Not too bad considering fast food meals are at least $10 these days. Very reasonable prices. My wife said it was the best carne asada tostada she's ever eaten. Try this place and you will love the food and very good prices. read more
