So this time I doubled up on my favorites. I had an egg and cheese burrito and ordered fried zucchini for the table. Since there were a few of us eating I ordered the zucchini with one extra ranch on the side. Their ranch is thick and creamy . They have a drive thru, but there's also a dinning room available. The dining room has self serve condiments available.I decided to eat there so when I needed a fork for guacamole, I had to go back to the window. This place is old school & does it right! I use to come here all while I was a young kid. They've changed the layout and bit, but it's still the same, the food is awesome. I've been going to this sweet little gem since my now adult kids (36, 33, 31 and 27 ) were little beach rats in Junior lifeguards. Great cheeseburgers if you want to be naughty ; but their salad with fish on top rivals any fancy restaurant. Great fried zuke with homemade ranch. My favorite thing here are the bean and cheese burritos. Go figure? I'm not sure how they do it; but they taste so delicious. And their salsa is very unique- unlike anywhere else! Whenever I visit Dana point, it's always Nice to grab some delicious fried zucchini! I also got a chorizo egg burrito, and family members got hamburgers. It's just a really cool atmosphere/vibe here. This place is great if you're looking for a hangover meal. The burgers and burritos are big and greasy. The taste is so/so but it'll definitely fill you up. We got a coffee as well (regular drip) and I didn't enjoy it. The milk and sugar were out for people that wanted to add it, but the milk was warm and sugar covered in flies. I would love to give 5 stars because their food is always great! However, I took my son to A's this morning for his first time and there was a "fly" in his lemonade drink. He showed the worker and the response was, "it's part of the lemonade." Omg! Anyhow, the worker gave him a new lemonade minus the "fly." I didn't deceive who the worker was bc it's irrelevant and don't want anyone in trouble. Just know this was the response and this persons work ethic. That's all. Still great food! read more

Whenever I go fishing in Dana Point I stop by this little gem. They have amazing breakfast burritos and burgers. It's a small joint but it has a nice vibe to it. Great idea for lunch. We has the Mahi plate and the A's combo with onion rings and a side of zucchini. Everything was delicious. The onion rings and the zucchini were HUGE. I passed at least half of the rings to a group of surfers. The zucchini went home for later and so did half of the Mahi. Fresh brewed ice tea. Great service for fast food. Everything was piping hot. Let me preface this by saying that I have been eating at A's Burgers since the mid to late 80's so this is a fairly informed review. Let's start with my one negative point... The burgers aren't great anymore. They used to be fantastic, but now, just so-so. And it saddens me to say that. Patties are small, usually overcooked and other than char, they have little flavor. :-( Their breakfast burritos, on the other hand, are the stars of the show. They offer ham, bacon, sausage and chorizo. All are good on their own, but (pro tip #1) do yourself a favor and request one with B,S, and H. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Pro tip #2 is try the chorizo with no potatoes, add beans. So good! Their fried zucchini (I like mine well done) is excellent and A's has one of the best Ranch dressings in Orange County. The staff is always friendly and offers service with a smile. And if you need anything, they are willing to help. As for the decor, it's a little gated, but still gives you the laidback beachy vibes one would expect from a mom & pop burger joint in a beach town. Also, in a tourist town like Dana Point, A's is totally a local favorite. read more

I drove by A's Burgers in Dana Point today and started craving one of their burgers. Unfortunately for me previously I went and ordered a burger and one of their enormous orders of Onion Rings. I requested them to throw a couple of my rings on the burger. They said NO. I looked around and then asked if they were pranking me. Again they said NO. I said Thank you and please cancel my order. Lucky for me, a differently owned A's burger in Mission Viejo where they knew about customer service said of course. Yes, even better than In 'N Out, mostly because their burgers taste better, they are priced less and their fries, onion rings and fried zucchini are DELICIOUS. (Pro tip; you can split an order of fried items with something else like half zucchini and half onion rings and don't forget the RANCH!) The ambiance is true fast-casual where you order at the window and eat there, in your car or down the street at the Harbor. Don't worry if you don't have shoes!
