I came here to get my wedding dress altered. The adjustments I needed were to tighten my straps on my dress, add a bustle, and add a glitter layer underneath the top lace layer. On my actual wedding day none of my bridemaids could figure out how to actually bustle it. I ended up having to carry my train in my hand. That's another story though. I went to pick up my dress about 3 times thinking it was ready to go. Turns out it wasn't ready, and I wasn't even given a call to save myself the drive. The glitter layer that was added had an uneven trim that would show if I turned a certain way. The women were really nice. Great personalities, but the actual service itself was OK. I went in for a simple request to my sons Halloween costume. I understand the quality of the material is cheap (it was 20$ on amazon) but I explained how much he loves it and I just wanted a simple panel sewn onto either side because it was too small around his midsection. The lady who was there was argumentative, combative, and said she doesn't have anything that would work. I told her just plain navy blue would be just fine. She proceeded to tell me that it wouldn't look good. Again, I told her it's more about his comfort less about how it looks. She then said it would be at least 2 weeks until she'd even get something that MIGHT work, into the stock. And she said how they have so many boxes to undo in the meantime (Um, ok?). She then asked if I wanted to leave it over the weekend to see if she could even find something that worked. I told her no thank you. You're telling me an alterations shop doesn't have a simple navy/blue/light blue (i wasn't picky) piece of fabric that they could sew into my sons costume on either side?! Craziness. She seemed to be "above" my request and made me seem like a waste of time. So I went elsewhere. I dont know the lady's name but she had long hair and was not the most pleasant to work with at all. read more

My daughter's expensive wedding dress was ruined by a different seamstress, who had shortened the bodice at the last minute and changed the whole look and fit of the dress. Just 2 weeks from the wedding, we had to scramble to find someone who could fix it. Everyone I contacted said they were too full, and that it couldn't be done in the short amount of time left. I had had some custom sewing done by As You Wish Clothiers in the past and liked what they did, so I decided to call them. I am so glad I did! Not only were they kind and understanding and willing to take on the challenge, but they did such an amazing job the dress actually looked better than the original when they were finished! They were able to lengthen the bodice and return the fit of the dress to what it was when my daughter first bought it, and they also fixed several other things the previous seamstress had done wrong! And in record time, too! I can't express enough how talented and amazing these two ladies are! They turned a fiasco into a beautiful creation! Highly recommend! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I made a wish... I wished for a simple alteration. Specifically, I wished for a pair of designer jeans to be hemmed - and, as any qualified seamstress does, I wanted the original hem removed and put back on. Despite the name of the store, my wish was far from granted. Instead, the seamstress was argumentative, disrespectful, and flat out refused to accommodate my request. Worse still, the owner backed the poor attitude of her employee. Needless to say, we walked away without an alteration, and we're headed elsewhere. I'd have given zero stars if I were able. Sadly, Yelp wouldn't accommodate my wish either. read more

Back with an update on that family heirloom piece. Just FYI, it is a traditional Chinese wedding skirt, all silk, heavily hand-embroidered. And it's almost 100 years old. It had some loose stitching where someone had tried to maintain pleats. They were all over the place (and even in different colored thread). I'd asked that the stitching be redone. When I came back for it, Casey explained that the better alternative was to do something less than what I'd requested. She was right of course-- came out beautifully! And with far less risk or wear-and-tear to the fabric. And of course, less cost. How often does THAT happen?!?! WOW. Love these guys (and btw, every time I'm in there, someone is fitting a beautiful dress...obviously a lot of people trust As You Wish for their most important work!). read more

When I took a vest in to have it altered the staff was very knowledgeable and I had high hopes. That was almost three months ago and I still do not have the vest. Each time I have stopped by the shop I have been told that due to Bridal emergencies my vest wasn't done. I tried to call them but they do not allow me to leave a voicemail, but rather I have to send an email or drive out there. 2 weeks ago they told me I would have it last week and that they would call when it was done but I have not received a call. I could not be more disappointed in the service. read more

Not as you Wish - When it takes more than six weeks to fix a zipper with no phone call letting you know it will be 2 weeks longer than quoted...no thanks. This place needs more help as they cannot keep up with the orders they have. read more

It took over a month to replace a zipper. Also, the button they added was too big for the buttonhole making it unusable. Luckily it's the extra button to the right of the main button, so it wasn't a necessary one. I would think a button would be something basic for a tailor. I would have brought it back to get fixed, but I didn't want to wait another month for my work pants. I also asked to have a pair of pants made, but the female never called me back. I called her three times with each time being told she was looking for the material I wanted. After my third follow-up call, I gave up. They were friendly people, but they just didn't provide quality service or speedy service. read more

If you need a seamstress or tailor, look no further. I've been using the services of As You Wish Clothiers for a few years now and can't imagine going anywhere else. The quality of their work is impeccable and for such reasonable prices! I moved to Denver a few months ago but was not satisfied with the tailors down here so when I went back for a visit, I visited As You Wish Clothiers with a couple suits too. They have tailored several suits for me and you can never see evidence that the suits were worked on. Their craftsmanship is truly outstanding. read more
