This place clearly doesn't need more great reviews but I'm leaving one anyways... I feel compelled because it was that good. It's unbelievably good. During peak hours, it's loud and action packed. Exceptionally tasty. We tried the miso and tonkotsu/shoyu blend ramen. Both were delicious. We ordered half portions, expecting to get just enough for us to also sample some of the other items on the menu. The portions are HUGE and we definitely over-ordered. The half portion ramen bowl was enough to fill me but we also ordered gyoza, bao, and karaage. I wasn't a fan of the karaage or the sauce, but the gyoza was good and the bao was stupendous and something I would definitely make a point to order every time I come back. My only complaints are the (extremely) cramped seating and lack of parking. Those gripes aside, this place is a must eat. read more

This is my husbands and my favorite ramen place! There aren't a lot of tables, but they turn tables quickly so you aren't left with a long wait even when they are busy. Their portion size is great to price ratio. I like to order an extra egg with my soup as it's adds great texture and flavor-so good! This is definitely one of our go-tos as the weather dips. This place is a nice little hole in the wall ramen place. It is so close to my house which is really nice, I can essentially just drive down the road and I am there. The ramen was delicious and very comforting on a winter day before I worked a grave shift. The service was fast and quick and it is a very relaxed atmosphere. I absolutely loved this place. I have driven by in the evenings countless times and seen people packed inside so I knew it had to be worth a try. So here's the deal, it's a tiny space BUT you can get on the waitlist on the yelp app and then you don't have to wait inside or worse outside in the cold. We started with potstickers and they were great. I ordered the Tonkotsu with Karai and it was EXACTLY what I needed on a cold evening. The karai added the exact amount of spice - just enough to make it warm but not to make my eyes water. My husband ordered the Miso and I tried it and it was great too but I liked mine better! This restaurant isn't the most romantic vibe if that's what you're looking for... but it's super fun and the food is great! read more

You know when this place came out way bback before Orem started booming into a "metropolis" it was amazing. I revisited the space again wanting to try the ramen as I remember the wavy noodles, the creamy egg, and tender meat. Unfortunately the quality of food has diminished and this place has seen to just serve food for the need of feeding, not enjoying ramen. I wish them the best and hope they can improve. I'm almost never in the area so but when I had an event to go to that was nearby so I jumped at the opportunity of trying this place and I'm so glad I did. First let me tell you that the place is small and intimate, and relatively busy for a Tuesday night. Having said that we were seated immediately. We ordered the kaarage (fried pork) and gyoza as appetizers and the tonkotsu ramen (full size) and miso ramen (half size). The kaarage is a must order! The pork was super juicy and flavorful and perfectly fried. We also enjoyed the gyoza but the kaarage was the real winner. The tonkotsu ramen's broth was rich, I would have liked it a little saltier but I think the shoyo/tonkotsu offering would have solved that issue for me. I loved that their egg was perfectly soft boiled and their pork was delicious. The best part of ordering a full size was that I had basically a half size leftover for lunch the next day! The to-go container was also nice, it can be easily reused. A half size is perfect for dinner. The perfect 5 star rating is due to the amazing service. We were consistently checked on, the kaarage we ordered was removed from our bill because of a slight seating change we made earlier. We had no problems moving to a different table, but appreciated the gesture nevertheless. I guess I will have to make more trips to Orem to satisfy my ramen cravings at a reasonable price and with great service. read more

Fantastic food, and phenomenal customer service. My daughter even devoured her food and she's usually so picky! This is a great place for cheap, yummy ramen. We tried the tonkotsu and the tonkotsu/shoya. Personally I loved the two mixed together, but both were good. For appetizers the gyoza are a must get and the edamame was refreshing. I'll be back to try the boba drinks! The restaurant is very small and more of an in and out thing than an experience. GLORY BE!!! Yes, kind of a weird way to start a review, but this place is legit, and i don't know the japanese translation for it. No fancy 5 page menu at this tiny, hard-to-find-even-though-its-on-the-main-drag ramen shop. we walked into a tiny storefront, and immediately noticed the large bowl of ramen in front of the guy sitting at the counter, looks really good! Place is small and almost full. Son and I snag the second to last table, although the bar had a few spots. Menu is a two sided single sheet with ramen pictures and descriptions one side and appetizers on the other. Very nice laid out menu with simple explanations for the average non ramen person to figure out. I really appreciate that level of effort. So, it all looks good. I am intrigued by the combination tonkatsu/shoyu bowl which has both broths and the thicker noodles found in a shoyu, which sounds great since i like a real tonkastu broth but like shoyu ramen as well (heresy to the ramen snobs, but its my meal thank you!). They also had regular tonkastsu, regular shoyu, miso, and i can't remember what else. Nice Selection. I wanted an appetizer, but the giant bowl of ramen is calling my name (its raining outside). I COULD have ordered a half bowl and got one of the yummy appetizers, but i will save that for my NEXT trip, which when you read the rest of the review, will understand that it is so happening. The large bowl comes standard with two nice large pieces of braised pork, and a correctly cooked egg as well as some delicious shredded green onions, sour bamboo, and mushrooms as well as the noodles and the broth. Cool thing is they have some add-ons that are great values. At $8 something, the bowl is already a killer value, but getting TWO more pieces of the delicious braised pork, another egg, and another PILE of the shredded green onions is $2.50 total. Seriously? Are you embarrassed yet chain stores? YOU SHOULD BE. They had lots of other traditional add ins like corn and such. So, while i love getting value, and this place is a great value, nobody writes reviews praising $1-2-3 menus. People writes reviews (and epic Poetry) about Broth at good Ramen restaurants. This place deserves epic poetry. Probably a Haiku. The broth was rich, creamy, bone flavored goodness. The mouth feel was silky, and I would run my tongue around my mouth to taste it. A touch of chili paste and i was floating. Not just in my mind, but from the amount of broth i sucked up. I was seriously not making eye contact with the soy sauce. It did not need it. I added the chili paste because i am an addict, and I am sure it would have been great without it. Noodles are good and cooked well (not over cooked). maybe could be a little more stretchy but seriously good and portioned well. The braised pork was correct. Does that sound like damning with faint praise? not if you know ramen. It was juicy, tender, had a nice small well portioned fat ring on the edge, and added, not detracted from the broth. Well done! The egg was also done properly. meaning it was cooked to where the white is done, and not overly done, and the yolk is in that lovely zone where it does not leak everywhere, but is ever so slightly jelled to mix in. The egg also was slightly aged porcelained colored on the outside suggesting a brief soy bath. Well done! Green onions were obviously ice bathed, since they were crisp and bright. Service was awesome. They must get a lot of ramen noobies, since the server was kind enough to ask some non-snobbish helpful non-condescending questions about any menu questions we had. Service was lightning fast with drinks, and the food. water top offs were also prompt as well as inquiries about our meal. Just the right touch. Place packed up quickly within the time frame of us getting there, and there was a 15 people line by the time we left. I don't need to imagine why. I am almost afraid to post this review, since i want to be able to find a spot when i go back. I got the lunch special which is such a great deal. Only thing I was kind of sad about is that they didn't have tofu or really any vegetarian options. But the food I did get was great! So some updates... The queuing system has improved tremendously with the updates to an online reservation system. There are now more waiters to help out too. We were seated almost immediately, with the high chair ready for my daughter. Server was extremely polite and answered all our questions. I was also impressed with the way he handled the impromptu 18 person party. Definitely try the Karaage (fried chicken) for appetizers. The Chashu ramen is a big bowl... so you have a few options whether you're a big or small party: order half bowls of ramen and get more appetizers, or full bowls and less appetizers. If you're a food glutton just go with full bowls and appetizers all round, then take what's left home with you. read more

This was my first visit to Asa Ramen. It's a small little restaurant with big flavors. The staff explained the menu, and I went with the Tonkatsu ramen and extra noodles. It is very filling and the half portion is enough for 2 meals. The broth is delicious. I plan on stopping here again. Friendly staff, and a delicious meal for under $10 is great. read more
