Been back several times for grip installation, like kellen owner and operator who helped me check my lie angle on my set thats two years old. Easy going humble owner who is good with young golfers just starting even middle handicappers like me, good set up, ample parking. Worth a visit. Aloha golf is a fine establishment too but think here is just as good but just a bit smaller. Very reasonable prices as well. Had my ferrule on my driver shaft redone. Kellen had to pull the adapter and take off the glued ferrule. He took a picture of the tip of the shaft to show me that the person who put the adapter on did a crappy job. Tip was uneven so he informed me that he put extra epoxy and to keep an eye on it. First time coming to the store and I was impressed. The best thing about this store is that they have everything for your golf needs! From balls, to clubs, and lessons! For myself, I've needed to replace my hydro flask many times and this is one of the few stores that carries all the attachments you'll ever need for a water flask! Visiting from the Bay Area and needed a couple of grips on my driver and putter that I leave here in Hawaii at my inlaws place. Arrived just after 9am, asked for Winn cord grip for my driver but he didn't have it, decided on Winn Dri Tac that I have on a set of clubs at home. For my putter, I was just looking for the cheapest pistol grip and he recommended the Lamkin. Waited for 10 min while he did it on the fly. Quick, reasonably priced, and good service. A+ read more

So far my 1st impression is that the owner knows his stuff and is extremely helpful! I went to regrip my clubs but he was actually out the door leaving for an appointment he was clearly in a hurry to get to, but he took his time to go over the different grips, pricing and he even let me leave my clubs and pick them up at my convinience...awesome. I'm very late on this review! I'm writing this review because of the great customer service and knowledge that this shop displayed. I had an appointment. There was another customer ahead of me that wanted the same service as me, (lie angle adjustment). As they were going through the process, Kellen told the customer that he didn't need to change his lie angle because his swing was coming "over the top" and causing weak shots to the right. Kellen even showed the sole of the club to prove it. Kellen gave the customer some swing and setup tips to help fix his swing. The customer thanked Kellen for not charging him the swing tips and left the shop. Now for me, I wanted to have my stainless steel clubs bent closed to 2 degrees flat. He already told me that stainless steel clubs are hard to bend and that breaking or cracking the club is a possibility. This had we worried. I proceeded to warm up as Kellen starting to help other customers in the shop. After a few minutes, he came back to me and said that he noticed my swing would get slightly over the top at times but I was making mostly good swings. After a few swings under his view and observation, Kellen told and showed the sole of the club (sole hitting the ground towards the heel) and that my shots were mostly to the left of target. He decided to adjust my clubs 1 degree flat instead of what I requested of 2 degrees flat just to see what would happen. Kellen told me after adjusting that he was able to bent the club 1.5 degrees. I took more swings after the adjustment, perfect! This shop deserves 5 stars+. I would recommend this shop to anybody for their knowledge and great customer service! read more

They are super close to where i live so i decided to try there. Needed to have a new shaft glued into my driver. The price i was quoted when i dropped off was $2 different than when i went to pick up, the owner Kellen fixed this small error on a later visit. I had about 4 or more clubs sent there for repair/building and all of them are perfect. There was a problem with 2 having loose ferrules, one was because i had purchased off rakuten and they gave me a ferrule one shaft size larger(Kellen glued into place to fix) My other problem was because i had bought a 3rd party driver tip and the metal they used wasn't as receptive to the epoxy as an oem part, it twisted a little during play. Kellen had to rough up the inside to get it seated right and tight, fixed for free even though it wasn't really his fault that it did that. Overall, i would only trust 2 places on Oahu to get any golf work done and this is one of them. read more

I changed the shaft on a 4-wood & a wedge, along with changing two grips. Kellen was very helpful and patient with me as I made my decisions. Also, he is not judgmental and will offer his honest opinion to help you reach the desired result. My son was given a set of golf clubs but the grips needed to be re-gripped and we decided to try Asao Golf after reading the 5 star yelp reviews. At the shop we were greeted by Kellen (owner) who was very friendly and he helped my son with the selection of the new grips. The cost was affordable and the job was well done. We went back to have additional clubs re-gripped and at that time I noticed he also gave golf lessons which he conducts in his shop. My son is a beginner who is taking lessons from another coach but we decided to try a lesson with Kellen and we are glad he did. My son still goes to both Kellen (twice a month) and his other coach (who is also excellent) and his golf game has significantly improved over the last 2 months. Both coaches stress the fundamentals but have a different approach to how they teach and their instructions and services are complementary of one another. Suffice to say we are very happy with Kellen and Asao Golf. read more
