Just came by the driving range this weekend, everything is in really bad shape especially for the…read moreprice! I don't think anyone flips the mats over at night so they just collect a ton of water underneath and it's deteriorating the bottom of the mats so when you go to put in the rubber plug say to hit driver, the mat is very disgusting and messy. The ball holders are falling apart, cracked, some are almost useless. The mats are worn down all the way through the bottom in certain areas... Really bad, disappointing.

As luck would have it, the person who reached out and was available at the time was the head PGA instructor Oliver. I was a little unprepared (no clubs, no gloves), but Oliver was very much go with the flow and was able to accomodate me. He asked me what I wanted to work on, and that's exactly what we did. I improved immensely, because Oliver was able to quickly diagnose the main problems with my swing and explain in an uncomplicated way (without too many "swing thoughts"). I'm excited to go home and practice/implement the changes to my swing.

We were promised a certain price from the Mizuno Rep (Russ Chong) and he told us Oliver (Island Pacific Golf Academy) would bill us and call us when the clubs came in. A week before the clubs came in, our credit card was charged $400 more than the original price. I tried to get a hold of the Mizuno rep with no response and Oliver keeps giving us the run around. To this day he hasn't given us a refund. This was a hard and expensive lesson to learn. Don't do business with Oliver Oliquiano. From other reviews I've read it seems like he has a habit of ripping people off. Shame on him! Especially in Hawaii where the golf community is so tight knit!

You have the option of either having your lesson at Newtown driving range, or at his simulator at Sports Box in Pearlridge Mall. I've chosen to do my lesson at the driving range (note: you do have to buy your own balls). But his package also includes a few hours of practice at the simulator a week (golf practice indoors in AC....yes please!). AND it includes one on course 9hole lesson a month. Such a great deal!! They should put in tees at around 5800 yds. It's either super short at 5300 or really long at 6470. Nothing in between. That's the reason for only 3 stars not 4.
