Played a round here recently and had a decent time, but it didn't quite blow me away. The course is pretty flat and on the shorter side, which makes it a bit more forgiving for beginners or those looking for a relaxed round. Not a ton of elevation change or dramatic holes, so if you're into more visually dynamic layouts, this might feel a bit plain. The pace of play was kind of slow, which was a bit frustrating. We found ourselves waiting on quite a few holes, and it definitely dragged the round out longer than expected. Could've used a marshal or two to keep things moving. That said, the course is well-maintained, and the staff was friendly. It's a solid option if you're nearby and want to get a round in without too much hassle, but probably not worth going out of your way for. You do have to be military or know someone who is to get you on though, so not accessible to everyone is kind of a bummer. read more

As a family with young kids who like going to the driving range as a family. If the kids are well behaved, is that such an issue to bring them!? I understand there is an age limit on the course but at the range.. really.. or at least approach us a little nicer. Other than that, the range is beautiful. read more

Honestly a beautiful golf course. But came to the pro shop 15 minutes early to check in and was told that they canceled my tee time because they had other people on stand by waiting to go on the course. I thought if I book a tee time I would have priority over standby, I guess I was wrong. Here's the kicker, I was told I needed to be 20 minutes early and I looked up if they have a rule that mandates arriving early and they don't have one. read more

One of our favorite courses on the island, beautiful grass and well kept tee blocks, fairways, greens, sand. There is one par three without water and it looks a little yucky, but we just hit the green and drive on by. Awesome places to practice putting and chipping as well as driving range (mats most of the day but you can hit off grass on the weekends). The employees in the pro shop are nice and efficient, they keep the pace of play moving along without making you feel rushed either. Some courses has such close tee times, no matter how quickly you play you're still getting hit into which is no fun. Twilight hours after 2pm (nine holes only) but for 1/2 the cost so it's a great deal! Grab some besties and get out here! TIPS & TRICKS: * Keep an eye out for the fighter jets that will fly overhead, you'll be feeling super patriotic by the end of your round! read more

Golf course is nice and decent shape. They don't Marshall slow groups. We had a group in front of us that took 3+hrs to play the front nine. We had to skip 4 holes after 10 and just play the last 3, which took a total of 4 hrs. The ridiculousness is.... they have a Marshall who came out, but never tried to speed up play. The course was empty. The grip of Hawaiians in front of us refused to let us play through. It was the most unbelievable thing I've witnessed on a course. Absolutely disgusting. Definitely won't play here again. The staff treat military and retirees like second rate guests. So so so goofy! 2 stars for the course as it was in decent shape to play. read more

I guess I would call Navy Marine Golf Course my home course on the island, I've played it enough to call it home. I can't believe I have never written a review for this course, shame on me. The course is complete with an amazing pro shop that sells everything you need, driving range that is perfect for practicing driving and chipping, putting green and 604 Mangiamo Italian Restaurant on the second floor. It's definitely one of the best golf courses in the DoD and a fun course to play and you can't beat the prices. The course can be challenging at times, focus on one shot at a time. You need to have a DoD or military ID card to play or have someone sponsor you in order to play. The staff does an amazing job keeping this golf course in great shape, from the greens to the fairways. The staff also do a super job keeping play moving. It's often crowded, but they do everything they can to get you out on the course. Twilight starts at 3:30 and during the week not very crowded. Weekends and early mornings recommend making a tee time. If you haven't played Navy Marine yet, definitely give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. read more

Navy Marine Golf Course in Honolulu provides an excellent open 18 hole golf course great for finding your ball when it doesn't fly exactly straight. Note you do a need a military sponsor to play on this course as it is a military golf course. Located right near Daniel K. Inouye International Airport Navy Marine has open fairways which offer varying amounts of difficulty depending where the pin is located. Great for hitters who can blast the ball past 250 yards leaving you 165 - 180 yard shot for most of the par 4s. Conditions are always great as the grass is well maintained. This course as compared to most muni's and all other military courses has them all beat. Hands down. The new club carts are great. Ok no built in gps and BS. But who needs it if you have a smart phone or watch or range finder. The course condition is darn near perfect. And has been for many years. Ok all courses have to punch the greens fairways etc. but they at least tell you before or while you make your tee time. The staff are great. And polite. I Grew up around this area most of my younger years, and then after joining the Army at 18, I was driving by weekly when the N.E.X opened in the early 2000's. I was one of those guys who Drove by hole 11 & 12 blowing my horn at whoever was teeing off or putting lol and now I'm on the receiving end lol I've since moved to the west side, but if I was still living in town, I'd be golfing here every week. I've been to all the military courses on the Island and in my opinion it's one of the best. Klippers has hole 13 with that beautiful ocean view but all around Navy Marine. It's Well maintained and flat. If you slice a lot like myself, your still in play, just on the wrong fairway lol. Also not as much O.B like Barbers Point hehe, and always easy to get on, unless RIMPAC is in town then good luck lol. guys at the front desk are awesome, then you have 604 at the turn so not bad. read more

Negatives: Interacting with the staff at this course was one of the worst experiences at a business I've ever had. If you're not in the good old boys club then you can't have certain "privileges". An example would be playing by yourself, taking a cart out for 18 after 1:30, playing with a fivesome. To clarify, whoever is running the clubhouse makes up rules as they go, playing favoritism towards individuals and loosing money for their business. They should be fired. People who work are punished if they want to play 18 holes. They state, "if we let you take the cart out for 18 you won't finish before 6". I left the location, drive to another course, hit two buckets of balls and played 18 holes all before 6pm the same day. They expect people there do not know common golf courtesy, I.e. allowing smaller/faster groups to play through. If you're not apart of the old boys club then you're talked down to and treated awfully. This clubhouse needs to hire in people that understand golf and understand running a business. If I could I would give 0 stars. Final note: Every new person arriving in island, I tell them to take their money and time elsewhere. read more

My wife gave me golf lessons for Christmas. We have talked about golf lessons for at least a few years when she and the kids gave me golf clubs for Father's Day. I finally took them out of the packaging to have my first golf lesson, and took my son with me for his first as well. We met with Joey who gave us instruction on how to hit the ball with a Pitching Wedge. It was very insightful to learn about form, technique, etc for about an hour, being able to ask questions and understand how we can improve. My son and I walked away with a better appreciation for golf and look forward to our next lesson. We finished with Joey and went on the driving range to hit another bucket of balls. I felt like I did better on the driving range for whatever reason. $4 for a bucket of balls at the driving range. 18 holes of golf varies in cost by rank. I look forward to my next lesson and getting on the golf course with family and friends. read more

Right off the H-1/Nimitz Highway. + Ample parking. + Service. Smooth Sailing getting checked in and started. + Course was well kept. + The price of a round with a cart was under $60. A win for me. + Military History/Heritage on the hole markers honoring Medal of Honor recipients from December 7, 1941. Love this course. One of the hardest places to get a tee time on the island, so if anyone invites you, GO! It is a great mix of challenges. Over water, dog leg lefts, slight rights, short holes, long holes, and just enough slight elevation changes to make it a great walking course without killing you. Take into account the wind when playing, makes a big diff. And knowing how fast the greens are, expect "perfect" shots to the green to kick to the back if the wind is with you. Plain microwaved hot dog will set you back $4 on the course but that's kinda expected locally. 6 beers for $15 is the deal. 604 is pretty good for 19th hole pupus. read more

Probably my favorite military course on the island. Yesterday was my first time here and let me tell you, it was amazing. Lush green fairways, pace of play was reasonable. Few of the holes you hit the ball over the water. Koi fish, turtles, and birds. I did lose one pro-v1 going over the water but if I had to choose a way to lose one, that would be it. I absolutely love love love this golf course. My son is part of the Blue Jackets Junior Golf club run here by Assistant Golf Professional, Galahad "Gally" Carreira, Jr. He incorporates the basic skills in development for each week but he makes it fun and entertaining. He gives the kids the opportunity to be comfortable first. He engages them to learn to understand the fundamentals of the sport and then focus on skill and technique. He has several othe rassistant coaches who are also at the professional level to assist. He makes sure while the beginners and advanced are recognized in some ways the group as a whole learn and grow together. I am really thankful that my dad was able to meet and talk with Coach Gally. My son had a really bad experience with another local Jr. PGA golf team and it was so bad we almost thought he would never pick up a club again. Thanks to Coach Gally and the other coaches, my son has revived his light and love for the sport. Go Blue Jackets! read more

Navy Marine is my second favorite military golf course. They are centrally located near Hickam AFB and Pearl Harbor. What I like about this course is that it is very forgiving with wide fairways. So if you have a bad slice or crazy hook, this course is perfect for you. The greens are well manicured and some can be challenging. Navy Marine is also fairly flat making this course walkable with a push cart or if you are a fitness junkie like me you can carry your own clubs and walk.....what a great workout. No beverage carts, but at numba five and numba fourteen hole there is a snack shop where you can get your munchies. The driving range is open till 9pm to even non DoD card holders. For $3 you can get a basket of balls (between 25-30 balls). Tokens are needed for the ball machine and can only be purchased at the pro shop. read more

Employees were extremely rude from the start. We called ahead to make sure that renting clubs would be available. When we got there, there were no clubs. The worker there said, "we will figure it out." 3 hours later, it was not figured out and the employees were getting increasingly more rude with no regard for our experience. read more

Have gone the the driving range several times over the past few weeks. I should have reviewed Yelp (as I do prior to visiting most places). Went into the driving range ball machine and saw they only accept specialized coins, which is only purchased at the Pro Shop. So, I walk in no other customers (totally empty) and asked to buy the coins for the range balls. And just like most of the reviews about the staff's professional customer service...all I got was "you need anything"? More times than not, I get that approach...like they were doing us a favor!!! Then after they get your money, give your tokens; it seems like they try to find something to do just to get away from interacting with you (the customer...it seems they are failing to realize that we pay their salary, regardless if it is a just a hourly p/t or a NAF position and give them a reason to have that position available to serve the military community). Each time I walk in and get tokens for the machine, I'll ask the attendant if they do lessons and try to ask to find out which it the best of the two pros to get lessons. Each time (only one exception) I get the very minimal assistance...here is a paper with their info to call them and schedule an appointment. I've only interacted with one person that actually provided some advice to which golf pro may be best suited to my needs. Wish I got his name, but when I get it I'll definitely leave a positive customer comment for him. The others need a refresher on customer service training. As all customer service based agencies are required/recommend to perform on an annual basis. I know because I am a Manager for an AF unit that serves 90,000+ customers annually. read more

Came to sneak in a quick 9 holes at what most other courses would consider twilight. They don't have twilight and only allow you to play 9 holes. Most frustrating part was they charged me $7 to allow my child to ride in the golf cart. What a F***ING JOKE. He wasn't playing, didn't have a bag, and I just want him to be around the game while he's young to develop a passion for it and not be stuck inside playing video games like most children this generation are doing. I've been taking him to golf courses since he was 2 and this is the first place to ever have an age restriction of 8 and older also. I guess we don't want to develop our children into the next Arnold Palmer or be inspired to be the next Jordan Speith. Well maintained military golf course near Pearl Harbor NEX. Wide fairways. Flat course. Greens are in good condition. They also have a driving range. Mamala Bay at Hickam is a bit longer and the Klipper at Kaneohe has a nicer view of the ocean. But Navy Marine is conveniently located and an enjoyable course. I've golfed here more than a dozen times. I read the other reviews about the service but I've had nothing but great interaction with the staff. I will keep coming back! read more

This is the 3rd time I have went into pro shop and "Joey" was there again. Worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. Super short with me, acts like I owe him something. The other reviewer summed it up when he said the employees act like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to play on the course. I have played a few times and the attendants have a snotty attitude and make the course quite unpleasant. I went out to play as a single, and waited for about 30 minutes before I looked at the tee and realized that they were let in groups of three go out without adding me in as the fourth. After I asked, they said that the three people were a group, or that they "just missed that." This is the military course, and as a military member I feel that they are disrespectful. I don't feel that I'm entitled to special treatment, but I do feel that everyone is entitled to be respected, especially at a golf course where we choose to be there. Also, they only allow you to play nine holes at twilight. The other military courses on island allow you to play unlimited until dark. read more

As we come to the pro shop on time for our tee time the employees were instantly rude and distasteful towards my whole party (foursome). We waited and waited for us to get called up already hours past our tee time and finally we're told we were no longer able to golf because they were closing. Huge waste of time. My children aren't what I'd call "natural athletes" and after countless failed attempts to turn them into gymnasts we decided that we'd give golf a go. We've been hosting little putting contests about twice a week which has managed to hold their attention and tonight we took our golfing adventures to the driving range. Navy Marine is often forgotten about but I love it! It's not very busy and there were lots of open tee boxes on a weeknight. When you've got three kids the number one thing you worry about is one of them getting hit in the head with a golf club. The second thing you worry about is one of them hitting someone else on the head with a golf club, clearly the lesser of two evils. I'm pretty sure if we'd been at the Ala Wai or Pearlridge driving range this definitely would have happened. Anyone can use the driving range and I'm stoked that you can bring snacks and drinks. There are very clean bathrooms at the golf shack which is essential for our multiple potty and hand washing visits. My kids still aren't golf prodigies but they did have a great time and that's all that matters! I love that out little family has taken up golf as our new sport and I look forward to many more days and nights together at the driving range! read more
