I'm pretty sure the owner was helping us out, and both ladies working were super nice and welcoming. Since it was our first time there, they actually gave us our drinks on the house, which was really cool and definitely not something you expect. We got the iced banana bread latte and it was really good. What I liked most was just the vibe of the place. It feels like a legit local small business with a lot of charm, and you can tell they actually care about their customers. Everyone was just genuinely friendly, which is refreshing. So, i drove from Long Beach. Champagne Bakery is a small french Bakery and café. It is located in a very charming Spanish mediterranean white building with terra cotta roof tiles and a large courtyard with lots of tables under market umbrellas, reminiscent of a European small town square. The seating is almost exclusively all outdoors for the exception of a couple of small tables inside. There is plenty of parking out front. The menu has a lot to offer and is centered around french Café classics such as the French Onion soup, the Croque Monsieur and the Niçoise Salad. But they also have omelettes, paninis, savory and sweet crepes, soups, and more. They have lots of daily baked goods including baguettes, pastries, cake by the slice as well as whole cakes, coffees etc (see full menu in photos) I tried the broccoli cheddar soup for the first time. It comes with a piece of French roll. It was creamy and flavorful. I also got an omelette with spinach, mushroom and Swiss cheese. It comes with either salad or breakfast potatoes as well as a piece of french roll. I got the potatoes extra crispy. Everything tasted really good. My father ordered his all time personal favorite. The Niçoise salad and my mother ordered a soup and sandwich combo. We all enjoyed our food outdoors on a breezy and beautiful sunny day. The manager and staff members were super friendly and accommodating and Prices are reasonable. I wish we lived closer. I would visit more often. If you've never been to Champagne bakery, I recommend giving it a try.

A friend told me good things about it and I with my girlfriend decided to check this place out since we were in the neighborhood. I liked the atmosphere, live music, acoustic guitar duet singing in french. The place was packed, all seats around fire pits are taken. The service was friendly but a little slow. There were 3 orders in front of us. We got our coffees and Tiramisu 15 mins later. The total for 2 coffees and one dessert was over $16. The coffee and dessert were not as good as I expected, actually a regular Starbucks coffee and desserts are much better. I saw YELP awards on the wall received in 2011 for customer satisfaction and voted Best Coffee House In Town, but it doesn't live up to the hype created around this place. Times have changed for this place. Considering that I haven't gotten a seat and the so-so taste. I think this place is overrated. read more

I love this place: *The staff are always pleasant & accommodating; *they offer free Wi-fi; *I've never had a bad item from their menu; *we've never gotten sick from any item they've prepared; *the bathroom is kept clean and well maintained; *they light fire pits directly outside at dusk every day; *outside seating is plentiful; *their "bagel-wich" is only $3.50, is delicious and very filling; *all food items & drinks are reasonably priced; *they even stock the place with books for adults and kids to read. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. They gave me something with white bread and unmelted cheese, no grill marks. It was cold and nasty looking. Everyone around the fire pit was disgusted at the looks of the sandwich. When the girl came to pick up my tray, I told her I couldn't eat it, that it was the worst sandwich ever. She picked it up said sorry and walked away. Take my money and give me slop. She could have offered to bring the best sandwich in the house to make up for it. The owner was there. My husband and I have been coming here for 10 years and we love it. The vegan chili is delicious and a little spicy, YUM, all the sandwiches are terrific. I love the fact that they offer them on bread, bagels, wraps or croissants. the homemade pastries are awesome. I love how they are able to make all drinks hot or cold. The staffs' awesome customer service skills were consistent based on my past experiences at other locations. Just remember, you'll have to put the disk on the circle on the table so they can find you. I misunderstood and placed the disk anywhere on the table. Anyhow, that's the only location with this method which was new to me. The food was pretty good but wish my Yogurt, Fruit & Granola had more fruit to balance out the yogurt. Overall, I still had a positive experience and highly recommend Lofty Coffee to the Yelp Community :-)

But I guess I was just expecting to get more of the banana and maple flavors, especially since I was pretty excited about that flavor combination. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the ambiance was great. I love that they have their roasting machine right where people can observe and watch the process if they wanted to.
