Ascend has recently been selected as our HOAs plumber for the complex. Even though there's a lot of work to be done in our neighborhood, they reply very quickly. We had a slab leak. Ascend did a spot fix, hammering through the concrete and replaced the pipe. Shortly after we had a second leak. Our pipes are old and have decayed. Ascend repiped the entire house. They finished the project faster than the estimate. The new pipes look great. They even threw in a few extras. They went over and above and kept us fully informed throughout. I called Ascend Plumbing and luckily, they were able to come out yesterday. I tried to replace the Moen shower cartridge and just couldn't get it out. Had the right tool but it was difficult. Sergio was great saying they are tricky getting them out and back in. He worked it quite a few ways and all was good. Late Friday afternoon while cleaning, I wasn't getting any hot water. I tried trouble shooting myself the best I could with no luck. I was pretty sure it was the flame started. But after started to try and take it apart, I remembered a past plumbing disaster I created and decided not to try further and end up getting in over my head. Called our previous plumber from over 5 years ago and left messages on cell and business line. It was Friday night of MLK weekend. I had guests coming. I had $200 in my bank account. This single mom was in trouble. I looked through my local Santee Happenings FB page reviewing plumber recommendations. I prefer to support a local small business. Victor from Ascend kept popping up again and again. I gave him a call and he picked right up. it's been a horrible two years for me. I've been out of work due to a combination of things, but manly my daughter's mental health. Now my backup against the wall. I got a concussion the week prior and had been all emotional the last week. I was hoping I didn't start crying on the phone to him. I can't express this enough, Victor had the kindest voice and just listened. He didn't try to rush me. He let me explain(and probably over explain) my situation. And then he was so calm and told me his plan. He had a staff member right in my area Santee. He was off now and at dinner with his wife, but could come by in an hour and a half. I was fine with whenever he could come. Rafael showed up and was very kind and professional. He put me at ease right away. I showed him the hot water heater and explained the steps I tried to do. He worked on it for less than 10 minutes, if that and got it working. He didn't charge me the after hours surcharge. I was relieved. Victor messaged me the next morning to check that it was still working and no issues. I greatly appreciated the follow up. I cannot recommend these guys enough. I scheduled an time for the tech to come out and give me an estimate. I then scheduled an appt for the work to be done. They cancelled my appt and rescheduled. They cancelled again because the plumber called in sick. Now they want me to pay $150 for the time he came out to give me a quote. I'm refusing to pay. I don't know of any plumbing company that charges such an outrageous amount. I got the work done with another company and paid HALF of what I was quoted from Ascend. read more

They showed up so fast and they were informative without being condescending (which is a true skill!). They didn't do any work without making sure we were OK with it first. My tenant in a single family residence in Loma Portal at my request called Ascend Plumbing on a Saturday to unclog a toilet. This was the Saturday before Easter Sunday. The house only has one toilet and it was important to me to get it functional again for the tenant in order for the tenant to have a reasonably nice Easter. Ascend Plumbing sent Nick and he arrived early. Nick determined the problem was in the toilet trap and he used his snakes and other equipment in an attempt to clear the blockage....all to no avail. He even removed the toilet and tried to clear the trap from the bottom. Again, no joy. I observed Nick do his best, and it was more than I would have done before giving up. Nick finally had to get a replacement toilet and install it. He also installed the bidet, calked the toilet, and checked for leaks. He worked about four hours doing the total job. The cost was less than I thought it would be. Nick was professional, polite, and obliviously took pride in his work, including a good clean-up. I consider Ascend Plumbing honest, reliable, and I will use them again for my next plumbing emergency. P.S. I later took a sledge hammer and broke the toilet trap and found a bathtub stopper wedged in the middle of the trap. It turns out that a house keeper had flushed it down the toilet and all the people (me included) jamming a snake down into the toilet just very securely wedged solidly in place! read more

I waited from 8 am until 11 to hear from Victor about a pipe bursting after they 'fixed' another leak the day before. I'm not saying they caused it at all. But obviously they are connected somehow. I had to call him as he apparently had no intention of calling me back like he said he would. I have no water, I took the day off from work and frankly I'm very disappointed in their lack of professionalism. Are they reliable? No Are they worth the cost? No, it cost me a day of work Are they professional? No, but Marilee was. Plumbers, not so much. Am I pissed off? Yes New kid from Acend came. Said it was dry. Not a bit of water down there. I have used Ascend Plumbing a few different times and each time Vic and his team overachieved on their services. Vic is responsive and always available when I reached out to him, and his team is knowledgeable and great at what they do! A couple months ago they changed out a couple toilets in a rental and helped me with one at my house, after calling a few different companies getting quotes for over $1000.00 Vic was able to repair my flange quickly and at a fraction of the cost I was quoted from other companies. Having an older house there always seems to be issues and they always seem to happen at the worst time, we had an issue with my shower 4th of July week and Vic got his team on it immediately and was able to fix it so we didn't have to wait.
