I had a problem with a GFCI breaker and after looking at other 5 star reviews, I called Craig. He gave me a few pointers on trying to diagnose the problem and asked me to call him back if I couldn't figure it out. I called him a day later and he showed up on time. The breaker had tripped and I just had to push it (hard) to the "off" position before turning it back on. It took him all of 30 seconds to "fix" the problem. He didn't charge me and took the time to explain how GFCI breakers are different than regular breakers. Feeling guilty for having wasted his time due to my ignorance, I asked him to charge me, but he didn't. I will reach out to Craig for any/all electrical problems in the future. read more

I called Craig in the afternoon to test and replace a GFI outlet in my master bath for home inspection. He called me back immediately and was at my house within 30 minutes ready to work. Craig tested the outlet, found it to be faulty during testing and replaced the outlet with professionalism and efficiency. If you need an electrician, Craig's the guy for you. He was quick and knowledgeable. A true professional and 6 stars would be appropriate. We needed a circuit breaker upgrade from 30A to 40A -- he knew exactly what to do and got it all done perfectly. Craig was very pleasant, and accommodating to my schedule .I texted him a photo of my current light so he could pick up another fixture. He said would be at my place at 8am the next day. He arrived when scheduled, and quickly assessed the situation, and got to work. He provided an accurate quote for his work, and completed on time. He also performs his own dry wall repair which is an added bonus, as many electricians require you to hire a dry wall contractor to do that task. Ashburn Electric is also licensed and insured, so you can rest assured that the work he performs meets or exceeds the standards. His prices were very reasonable. I will be hiring him for additional projects in the near future. He added additional lighting in my garage and a duplex GFI outlet, and installed a ceiling fan. We received a personal recommendation for Craig of Ashburn Electric from an online plea for help due to a potential fire risk and being without power for an entire day (on a weekend no less). We called him at 8pm on a Saturday and, despite being after hours, he not only returned our call, but was at our house within 30 minutes to help. We explained that we had heard from only one other company that had quoted nearly $4000 to replace the entire panel and we would be without power possibly another day. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had our power restored in under 90 minutes and at less than a tenth of the cost. So nice to meet an honest technician especially after the outrageous quote and information we had received earlier in the day from another local company. He was straight-forward in explaining everything and how he would fix it. He eased our concerns over any fire risk and saved us money as well as the loss of food, etc. from potentially 2 days without power. Craig came out and fixed a ceiling mounted light which lost power after my kids were jumping on the floor above it. After he diagnosed the problem and replaced the defective light switch, he asked if there was anything else because I still had some time on the hourly rate.
