For anyone who is debating whether to visit Ashleigh, GO! My first visit with Ashleigh was in the beginning of June to get extension installed. For starters, to get extensions installed is an investment but it is completely worth it. Her salon is super cute and very relaxing, she is also welcoming and it is obvious that she is passionate about what she does (the plus side is that she's really good at what she does). She's talented, and worked a miracle on my hair. The hair she recommends is amazing quality, I can style it dye it, wash it. It feels like my own hair which is super comforting. The first couple days are usually the days you have the most discomfort but I didn't feel anything, my head did feel a little heavier but nothing hurt. My head wasn't sore at all and I slept perfectly fine. Showering was a little tricky because I wasn't used to such long and thick hair but it didn't bother me. She recommended a leave in conditioner which is a MUST to help keep the hair in its silky condition. I had sooo many people ask me how I grew my hair out so fast, and I had to tell them they were extensions. Everything blended so nicely, felt so real. I wore my hair straight, curly, in a high pony, and braids and nothing tugged or pulled everything looked 100% NATURAL! My second visit was in the beginning of august to get my extensions removed. After months of washing, blow drying, styling, and dying my hair; my hair still felt smooth and looked glossy just like the first day I had them installed. I LOVED them! I loved waking up every morning with super long amazing luscious hair! I would definitely get extensions installed again with Ashleigh, it is pricy but it's worth every penny! Had a terrible experience with this person as a new customer. First, she acts as if she is busier than God, barely can text back, get texts days later, no follow through. Second, she took $50 from me. I canceled my appt after I found out she charges $80 a row on install, which is absurd. I've gone to a dozen other people and this is about 10x the market price, since they take 10 mins each to put in. And I've had extensions about 10 years now. Also, just her bad attitude in general is a complete turn-off when looking for a stylist. Also, if you look through all her bad reviews, people say the same thing and she always tries to come back with some excuse for her poor customer service. I've received so many private messages, asking about the new salon I mentioned in my previous review, that I've decided to just update it. It was Dollhouse in San Jose, and my stylist was Stavroula (I call her Stav because I have no idea how to pronounce that!). Also, in response to the owners feedback, only when I decided to take my business elsewhere did she mention a "no show" fee (not on her website at the time). She also threatened to keep my purchased extensions as collateral until I paid it, which was illegal, and when I mentioned that, she finally just refunded me. She's so sweet, fun to talk to while she's doing your hair, she's super organized and gets back to you promptly AND she offers her services in emergencies and is super nice when it comes to rescheduling. She's been pretty busy and it's very understandable. Because she's great at what she does! She put extensions in my hair and I love them. She works diligently while doing so. She's fast and careful. First off, apparently she does different types like the clip ins and the sew in and.. Maybe another you'll have to ask her.. She color matches your hair or can even dye your hair the day you plan to put the extensions in to match them. (She told me she had one client that was going from black to red like Eva from total divas with extensions too) Ok so the juicy part- The way she does it is she puts in these little micro beads in small sections of your hair and weaves the extensions in nice and tight with a string a hooked needle it's really cool. The hair she uses for the extensions is real human hair so it can be pricy depending on the lengths but it's really worth it considering how long they last and how good they look. All of my friends thought it was my real hair! ; ) and it looks GORGEOUS when curled. After a time they slip down about a half inch over 5 or 6 weeks. When this happens she makes an appointment which takes about 15 mins for her to push up the rows and straightens anything else she sees out. She asked if I was having any problems with them. I had a little tangle problem for a while but she gave me a little blue bottle of some spray that breaks up the chlorine and other chemicals that caused the extension hair to get tangled and rough and it worked like a miracle. No more tangles and they're nice and smooth again. She also gives you so much information before she puts them in to make sure you're prepared and 100% about them. And even after she has all the answers to your questions about little things like the tangles. I honestly love her work. If I dyed my hair I would have her do it without second thoughts. I've seen her work she's stylish, she listens, she knows her colors and her hair. I highly highly highly recommend seeing her! Next time I get my extensions redone I'll post some pix of before and after too. But I think the ones that are up now give you a good idea of her work. read more

Nothing is better than transforming your hair into long beautiful locks in a little over an hour. I remember the old techniques that would take 8 hrs. Who has time for that? I have really thick hair so I actually prefer the hair extensions over my own hair. I live a busy life style and my hair is sometimes up in a bun and other times down and curly. If I could give this salon 20 stars I would. I followed Ashleigh from Strada to her place on Lincoln Avenue downtown Willow Glen. I am a licensed cosmetologist but not practicing in the field , however I am very picky and I know a little bit about color, cuts etc. So with that said the reason why I like Ashleigh is because she is spot on when doing color and she's a very good haircutter. I mean she is excellent! I've always just had her cut and color my hair but when I'd be sitting under the dryer I would see numerous women come in to get hair extensions. They would look so amazing when they left her salon. I always thought maybe I'll get them some day and I'd tell Ashleigh that "yeah someday I'll get em" but it took me over a year to actually bite the bullet. During that time she never ever pressured me about getting them, no big sales pitch etc. So anyway I did it, I love them, she did an excellent job. I'm so happy I got extensions. Nobody can tell, the color matching is perfect it just looks like my regular hair. I don't think I've ever stayed with the same hairstylist as long as I have stayed with her! Along with being very good as a cosmetologist she is such a sweet person and I love how she remembers conversations that we had in the past and will ask questions about things I might've told her on my last visit about my personal life or things I just want to share with her. One of the things I also really like about Ashleigh is that I can call her up after hours ask her questions, she gets back to me in a timely manner. She's more than just a hairstylist she actually cares about your hair and takes the time to tell you what you need to do to keep your hair looking good. One Saturday night I had a hair emergency ( my doing) at about 8 PM. I contacted her and she helped me out. I don't know too many hairstylist that would do that. The only con that I have about this is that she is SO good and SO popular that you really need to get on her books as soon as possible and book as far down as you can. So I got my extentions 5 weeks ago and it has taken me this long to yelp. The reason was I need to find the right words so everyone who ever is looking for extentions go to Ashleigh. Over 10 years ago I had waxed in extentions, they were the worst! 2 days to install and everytime I brushed my hair they came out. With that said, ladies Ashleigh has perfected her own style and by doing so she has the best, hair, time, & technique out there. I just read a posting from a Teresa, wow she is so far off that I felt that everyone who has actually had the extentions done should be heard from. The hair is like your own, the time she spends is minimal, (which is awesome),, and how she installs them is effortless. Teresa's yelp said so many incorrect things I wanted to set the record straight. If extentions are what you are seeking, Ashleighlyn's salon is the place to go. As for the deposit, listen my time is valuable, so is Ashleigh's, I was told the same speel and I kept my appointment so that $50 was applied to my service.
