Ashley has been doing my hair now for a few years. I have very fine hair that can be difficult to style or show volume. She has been the only person who knows exactly how to work with my hair. Most of the time I have no idea what I want when I come in and she knows exactly how to walk through the different options and comes up with the best ideas not only for that appointment but also for the next several visits. She's cut, colored, and styled my hair. I've also been to a curling workshop taught by her and learned A LOT. She also styled my friend's hair for her wedding and it was gorgeous and lasted the entire night. I can't say enough great things about Ashley and her salon. I found Ashley on Yelp when I was desperately looking to get hair done that same day. Unfortunately, she didnt have any open appt in Ramona but did email me that they had an opening in Salona Beach but I just didnt have the time. I told her I was using box to get me through and made an appt. I LOVED the detail in the website, the survey to get to know me and knew she was the one when she refused to damage my hair by doing what I was looking for....basically going from one extreme to the other (never good) My first visit she had a cappuccino and treat, a warm welcome and what I really appreciated was the consultation which included my future plans for hair.....a plan was put in place. it's now been about 6mo. and my hair is healthy and exactly what I wanted....she is absolutely AMAZING, and knows her stuff! read more

Got my hair done at the #vixenbeautylounge ramona location. Love it there. Not only did my hair turn out amazing, thanks to Ashley Barragan, I feel like a rock star when I'm at this salon. The intimate setting and the one on one experience is super relaxing. You arrive for your appointment and get offered a beverage. Not only is ashley an amazing hairstylist she's a great barista. I've been getting my hair done with her for well over 10 years. We've done red, blond, brunette, and a mixture of all over the years. I always get compliments on my cut and color. Ashley has been my hair designer for years! I will tell you why I love her: She listens to what I want and gives it to me. For haircuts-she is not scissor happy, if I ask to take a little off, she does just that. She gives you what you want not what she thinks (which most hair designers do) I won't let anyone else cut my hair except for Ashley. Ashley is such the all inclusive package for hair, she gives the best color, base or lo/hilites. Now she is using a product that is as amazing as she is, it is called Davines. I will say this, I already use nice products but I could tell these were far more superior than the ones I use - I could tell right after I shampooed my hair. Even the hair spray is amazing and I don't usually use that. I bought it all today - the shampoo, conditioner and the styling products and you can tell by looking at my hair that they are so good! This is one of the first businesses I stepped into when I moved to Solana Beach 10 months ago and I have been here every 3-4 weeks ever since. I got a great vibe from the get-go. Ashley is everything I want in a hairdresser....she will listen when I know what I want but will also mind read when I'm not quite sure ;) Her salon is so cute and she always has a nice selection of spa items...perfect for a splurge or a last minute gift. Oh and I love that you can even book waxing services (with the amazing Jen) while your color is setting. I like to make appointments in the evening when its not as busy and kick back with a glass of vino and chat a couple of hours away. Love Ashley's skills and her fun personality. Ashley has been cutting my hair for about three years and I couldn't be happier. She is a master stylist and trainer at her old salon, and I'm glad to see her moving out on her own. I have very difficult to cut hair and Ashley makes it look great. I'm an executive and need to look my best. I feel the need to write another review about Ashley since my last review was just my beginning experiences with her. Ashley has been doing my hair for almost a year now and she never ceases to impress and amaze me when she turns me around to the mirror to see the final product. I never leave Ashley feeling anything less than beautiful. On top of her talent, her professionalism and personality make the time spent getting you hair done an enjoyable experience. She uses high quality products when doing your hair, and is always able to capture the exact look I am going for. I recently had the chance to see her cut a male's hair, and I think the story of what happened says it all. My fiancé always shaves his head because he does not like the way he looks with hair; I recently convinced him to grow out his hair, and we made a deal that when it got long enough I would take him in to get it cut, and if he did still did not like how he looked with hair then he could shave it and I will never ask him to grow it out again. We went into Ashley with him extremely convinced that he would still not like it; I told Ashley what I was thinking and with her 13 years of experience she was able to make it better than I imagined! Needless to say my fiancé still has hair and he will now be keeping it for our wedding! She uses top notch products and always listens to what I want, but suggests changing it up if my hair needs it. I have been seeing Ashley for almost 8 years. I have followed her near and far and would continue to do so...although now I don't have to. I am so glad she is now firmly planted in Solana Beach. I have a ton of long hair that she has cut, colored and tamed over the years - not an easy feat. One of my best friends has been going to Ashley for years and has always spoken so highly of her, plus her hair is gorgeous, and so I finally made the switch this last spring after 16 years with my last hair dresser.
