Pros: store employees are great. Cons: Ashley furniture quality control standards and delivery people need serious improvement. I ordered a lot of furniture from this store recently. My first couch was damaged so I sent it back. I had to wait several weeks to get the second one. My second couch was defective. The wood for both arms of the couch was sticking out and my son got hurt on it. They had to send a tech to fix it, which took a few weeks. Also, my headboard was a different color than the rest of my bed. That went back and the second one is better, but still isn't right. It's off-white and the bed is white. The rest of the furniture and my rug is nice. Some delivery people are good and some bad. The first one gave me a really hard time. He pretended not to see the headboard color problem, and tried to minimize the couch damage. He didn't want to take back the furniture. He didn't install the doors correctly on my TV stand (which the service technician came and repaired). He also didn't clean up his mess and left packing material all over the furniture and the floor. So much for white glove service. The second delivery team was great. Based upon my experience, I will think twice before buying Ashley furniture again. read more

We had much better buying experiences at Ashley Furniture when it was owned by Barry Demeo. This new guy supposedly names "Enrique" that runs that store, is a stickler, won't negotiate, and hides in the back, unlike its previous owner. The past few purchases at the Ledgewood NJ store not so good. As much as I liked the so-called selling manager salesperson that helped us, we feel that her not disclosing to us the special deal going on with the particular dinning room set we bought , as well as, the 30% off Labor Day sale we were losing out on had I not saw the Hot deal & Sale on this exact same dinning room set we wound up purchasing the same day we went there, I might add, but we would've been overpaying for it by almost $600. After confronting the saleswomen that sold us the set , she did match the online price when I told her I found the sale online but "AFTER" we got home and paid more than we should of. So after some back & forth text to her and screenshots of the sale , again, she adjusted the invoice and matched the sale price on the dinning room but she cleverly added the full price of the protection plan back that she previously gave us for half off on after adjusting & revising the invoice to reflect the online sale price. I thought that was trickery and unfair. So we lost the $200 she originally gave us off the $400 price of the 5-year protection plan. She claimed she could not give us the Labor Day or Hot Deal discount and ALSO the $200 off the she originally agreed to give us the day we bought the set, which was only this past Sunday. So if I let the order go through , I lose the additional $150 -$50 she gave us off the PP. I probably won't shop there again, and even more importantly , I'm not happy about how that operate as far as transparency and telling potential buyers about deals and sales going on UNLESS we find it and mention it to them!! That's crazy, and something she already knew and should of disclosed to us "up front" on the day we were there!! Disappointed with how they do conduct business. Ps.. This supposed store MANAGER Jean responded but did nothing to compensate us the extra $200 we were initially given off the furniture protection plan by the salesgirl who never disclosed the Labor Day sales & offers. It was ONLY when I did my homework that that had no choice but to match the sale prices on the dining room set. Ironically , now there running even what appears to be even a better deal on this same dinning set as well as others. I WILL NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE WITH A BUNCH OF GREEDY CROOKS EVER AGAIN. Not sure what happened to my previous review from 3-weeks ago. Looks like it was deleted. Regardless here it is along with an update (no progress): ------------------------------------------------- Bought a "custom" table pad for my dining room table. Was supposed to be a hickory color (same color as the table). Returned to Ashley's in person as no one would return my calls. Ashley's accepted and had another sent to my home of the exact same WRONG color. I gave up. Finally used the table extension to accommodate everyone for Thanksgiving (immediate family only in case you are wondering). Realized not only is the table pad the wrong color, the extension leaf section is the wrong size. Started calling Ashley's again and got them to acknowledge on 12/3. They sent a note to the manufacturer and every time I call I am told they are waiting to hear back. I am out of patience with this company. Overall their furniture quality is average at best, but is OK if you only plan on keeping it for 4-5 years. But the customer service is truly horrible should you experience an issue. I have purchased well over $20,000 from Ashley's in the Ledgewood and Manahawkin NJ stores over the past 2-years, but that doesn't matter to them once they have the sale. This seems to be the only way to get their attention. 1/26/2021 UPDATE: Received a call about 2-weeks ago informing me they are "working on it". I am still waiting. If buying anything, read the fine print and have any verbal offers put in writing. My parents were told they could exchange the box spring if wanted after the mattress and box spring was delivered. A few days later, they wanted to change it and they ended up having to buy a new one. They were only allowed to decide to exchange as the delivery people were there. So now they have 2 box springs, not a nice way to take advantage of people, especially the elders. read more

I give this reading a zero but I'm not allowed to . I purchased a dresser, a chest and nightstand, took six months to come in. I know they can't control when the items come in from overseas. Once it was delivered, the dresser had a huge crack between the drawers. First two replacements were damaged and refused. third time after signing off on it I noticed that the color was off from the rest of the set . Back and forth with service. Been told that I was wrong that the picture doesn't show it. I've asked for somebody to come out to physically look at the set with no progress on that because they won't come out . Something made me look at the tall chest, and I noticed a crack in between drawers. At this point, I don't even want the set anymore. I'd rather they take it back and I can leave out of boxes.. corporate won't help because the stores are individually owned. I bought leather reclining sofa and love seat from Ashley about 2 years ago and bought 5 year protection plan of Furniture protection care from Ashley. Leather is peeling off from all different places at the sitting area and it's embarrassing to have guests. Both Ashley and Furniture protection care do not honor protection plan and Ashley furniture leather products are piece of shit. Do not buy anything from Ashely and do not purchase protection plan because they will find ways to not honor it and decline claims citing normal wear/tear, and product is not up to standard. I should have read these reviews before making a purchase. On Oct 20, 2022 I purchased 2 reclining sofas, a coffeee table and a TV stand with a fireplace insert. I was told that the order would be here in 3-4 weeks. On the bottom of my receipt it states s/b here by 1/12/23 and I questioned that - salesman said - "they need to include a delivery date - it but it will be here in 3-4 weeks". In 4 weeks the order was delivered however, the TV stand was missing. The fireplace insert was delivered but no TV stand. This is what happened next (this location has extremly poor customer service): -I called the store and they told me that my tv stand would be here by 1/19 -I learned that my order was approved for a split delivery - something that they dont do - so why did they and why was I not told? I was told to call another customer service number 267-348-1071 -I told them to take back the inset --I was told that they were going to charge me a pick up fee because I should not have accepted the insert --then I was told that they were going to charge me a restocking fee of $175.00 -I called the main store back - and told them what I was told by this CS # and a Donna W. told me she would call the cust serv line and call me back - she never called back - I had to call her. She told me that the reason that she didnt call me back was because the people she talked to said that they would call me. If you are providing good customer service then you do what you say - you call me back and tell me who to expect a call from and what I should expect to hear from them. - I called today to speak with the store manager and I was informed that Donna W is the store manager. She tells me that there is nothing more that she can do - she got them to waive the restocking fee and the pick up fee. Really ? Should that make my day? She tells me I should be happy because technically they have till the date printed on my receipt to provide me my items or I have to pay the restocking fee and a pick up fee. - where is the clause that protects the consumer when your salesperson assures you that your order will be delivered in 3-4 weeks and the date printed at the bottom of your receipt means nothing? - And finally - let's tallk about rude - am I upset - absolutely - but Donna decides to raise her voice and try to talk over me. Well I wasnt having it. So yes, I yelled at her and she proceeds to tell me if I dont stop yelling then she will hang up on me. REALLY - so its ok for you to raise your voice and talk over me but when the tables are turned - and let's just remember who the customer is here - you are going to hang up on me ??? What did I expect? Since it was not communicated to me that my entire order would not be delivered together, causing a serious inconvenience, my expectations were that the store manager should have offered for me to pick something off of the floor in the store or cancel my order - no restockling fee no pick up fee for the insert. I am having a house full of company for Thanksgiving and right now my TV is on the floor. Instead I spent lots of time on the phone with the store and there customer service line on Friday and today. This review is for the Ashley Furniture Outlet that just opened in Randolph in the space next to Staples on Rte 10. I went inside to shop and was greeted by an associate who followed me throughout the store during my visit and would not stop talking to me. My shopping experience was distracted. The main reason that I'm compelled to post this bad review is because she was speaking to me very loudly in what I will call an " ethnic slang" that was directed at my race. I don't speak like that, and I don't gesture like that. I'm a career professional nearing retirement age. It was offensive, and made me angry and uncomfortable. I plan to update once my couch arrives.. I went in back in November - 1st time customer - knowing exactly what I wanted to it was a very easy sale. Scheduled delivery date for end of December as I was moving to a new apartment around that time. 5 days prior to delivery date, received a text confirming delivery date. GREAT! 2 days prior to delivery date, received a phone call stating my "item was no longer in stock and my new delivery date was January 23." Yea... I was a little ticked off. I called the store to find out what the heck was going on only to be offered a $100 credit certificate that would be sent in the mail. haven't received it yet This place was recommended by a friend and a family member. They take your money but you don't get your furniture for months and months! Worst furniture store on the planet! You walk in and their sales people help you pick out furniture but never once tell you that it's going to take forever before you get it. I placed a $16,000.00 order at the end of January and here it is March 17th and I'm still missing 6 pieces. I waited for 6 weeks before I had a couch! Take my advice and go someplace else. read more

Horrible service they delivered my headboard bed with scratches all over. I called them and they let me wait almost 3 weeks to replace it. On top of that they sent the wrong headboard attachments. The delivery guys very disrespectful I asked them to wait because I want to contact the store and they told us not our problem and they just left. I called again to the store spoke with Amy she let me wait and them she called me back to tell me that she spoke with her manager and she tried to give me a number of their warehouse saying you should call them to find out when they can do the delivery of the attachments for the headboard. This is horrible and unacceptable customer service they made the mistake and I have to call to try to schedule again my own delivery. PlEASE never buy anything specially in the Ledgewood store.
