    French Toast
    Kayla S.

French Toast - 10/10 The French toast was outstanding--light and fluffy with well-balanced notes of cinnamon, vanilla, and cream. Easily the highlight of the meal and something I would order again without hesitation. Eggs & Hashbrowns - 10/10 The eggs were prepared perfectly over easy, with a beautifully runny yolk. The hashbrowns were crisp without being overly greasy, offering great texture and flavor. A well-executed classic that I would gladly reorder. Biscuit & Gravy - 5/10 This dish was average overall. While the biscuit itself was well-baked and not overly dry, the gravy lacked depth and seasoning. It was notably missing sausage and came across as bland. With improved seasoning or added sausage, this dish could be significantly better. Country Fried Steak - 3/10 This was the most disappointing item. Despite an appealing presentation, the flavor did not meet expectations. The steak had the taste and texture of a pre-frozen product, lacking freshness and proper seasoning. It was dry and underwhelming, and the gravy did little to enhance it. I would not order this again. Overall Impression While there were standout items, the experience was mixed. The pricing is reasonable and presentation is solid, but the overall meal did not exceed expectations, it barely met them. I would consider returning to try other menu options, though there are stronger breakfast spots in the area.

Wonderful people, great food, amazing prices fat portions, comfy place, old school and the OG. I've been coming here for a long time now and they don't ever disappoint. The service is fast and also the portions are huge and very filling.

We found this place while craving some home cooked breakfast. Stopped in on Sunday morning, greeted right away and sat down promptly. We ordered meatloaf and eggs with a side order of biscuits and gravy... both gravy's were amazing! Also got the California Benedict - eggs cooked perfectly. Lastly the S.O.S this plate came with homemade biscuits, ground beef, country potatoes and eggs smothered in country gravy. That brought me back to my childhood when my mom would make breakfast for dinner. They hit it out of the park! Will definitely be back oh and service - Maria was attentive and so kind.

    2. Sausage and Mushrooms Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Veggie Omelet

I came here with a friend of mine for breakfast and this is a tasty country style spot. I tried the sausage and mushroom scramble with biscuit and gravy. Super good and filling! I loved the biscuit and gravy, very savory but not overly salty. My friend got the vegetarian omelet and said that she liked it. The staff were nice and friendly, the atmosphere was chill, it was semi busy, and the prices were good.

The monte carlo & the country fried steak. With a side of onion rings , cottage cheese & peaches, Moms satisfied.

1 order of SOS split between my husband and I.

Well, what can I say - this place was such a nice surprise! We looked on Yelp to see what breakfast places were around us. Even though the restaurant itself had 4-stars, I actually read the reviews. I agree with them! The restaurant itself is clean, has a pine shiplap ceiling with nice, thick wood rafters. It is super clean, ceiling fans that make it nice and cool on this summer day. The waitress Maria was very friendly and gave excellent service. When we ordered, we were eating in about 10 minutes! We got the SOS It really hit the spot! It was enough for my husband (6'2" with a big appetite) and I. We even have left overs! This is by far the least expensive breakfast we have had - ever. We got the SOS, Diet Pepsi, one pancake. We also go extra country gravy & country potatoes to go. All of that was only $35.90!! We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area.

Stopped by here for breakfast when the place we wanted to try (Dirtbag) around the corner was closed. Kind of what you would expect for an old diner, sort of dark and dingy inside, mostly older crowd. I guess you're expecting if the vibe isn't great that the food would be better. We had an omelet, pancakes, and hash browns. Everything was just very bland and mediocre. Service was good, though sitting next to the window with the sun blasting made our seats very hot, my son was sweating by the end of our meal.

The restaurant was decorated festively and looked out on the brightly lit tree in the renovated Fair Oaks Village square. Most of the tables were full, but our party of two was promptly seated. As the owner whisked between tables taking orders, delivering food and chatting with the customers we perused the menu that is largely Italian classics mixed with flavors and methods from Peru and some Spanish tapas standards. The unique menu is a roadmap to the owner's life story, a Peruvian with an Italian grandfather and a passion for food and gatherings, trained in Spanish restaurants in the Bay Area. We enjoyed a cheese fondue to start (neither Italian nor Peruvian but delicious), then we shared a special of Italian noodles with steak bites in a cheesy sauce with aji pepper. It was so unique and truly delicious we nearly licked the plate clean! For dessert we shared a tiramisu. It was wonderful. The sponge was neither too dry nor soggy, the cream had wonderful flavor and it was the perfect amount to share. We will definitely look for a chance to return on a night they're sure to be open, and until then we'll remember fondly our surprise meal at this lovely spot!

The first thing I thought was, "I could easily come here alone, grab a glass of wine or a beer, watch part of a game, and just relax for a while." They had the NBA game on at the bar, but it didn't overpower or distract from the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. The dining room is made up of small tables with couples and friends quietly enjoying their meals and conversations. It has that kind of warm, comfortable energy that makes you want to slow down a little, settle in, and stay longer than you planned. Not every restaurant has to be loud or trendy to stand out. Sometimes a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and a good meal are enough. Definitely check this place out.

I've watched many people seat themselves at tables and leave 10 minutes later because no one asked them what they wanted. Yes, the decor is stuck in the 90's, but I actually like it. The double smash burger I had was excellent. The bun they use is awesome and they charred the patty perfectly. It tasted way better than Fleming's Prime Steakhouse burger I had last week, that's for sure. The thick steak-cut fries are awesome, too. Over salted but nothing a cold beer can't cut through. Highly recommend their smash burger.

If it wasn't for this "mission," there's a good chance I wouldn't have wandered in. I LOVE Sutter Street, but honestly I don't live nearby and don't have many reasons to come here. That said, I'm thankful for the mission and glad I dropped by. It's a super cute place and the bartender had a nice relaxed chill vibe to her. This is where I'd normally drop her name and give her kudos - but I didn't get her name. I thought her name would be on the receipt, but it wasn't! I assume her name isn't "Shift Night N" anyway, which would be weird - but that's what is listed for "server". Anyway... the burger... I liked it. I liked it a lot. I was not asked how I wanted it cooked (not expected or demanded by me) - but an observation that I toss in for comparison purposes. It was cooked to a solid medium, which is fine with me. Caramelized onions were standard - nice - but the tomato and lettuce were listed as 'optional' - and the bartender (Shift Night N) asked me if I wanted them. I opted in. The bun was above average - definitely a notch above the typical mass-produced buns often used elsewhere. I opted for sweet potato fries. They had good flavor. Personal preference-wise... I would have liked them to be cooked a smidge more. If/when I come back, I'll probably ask them to be crispy-er. Overall, thumbs up! I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try other things on the menu. #burgers

Biscuit particularly not good as it was doughy, wet , chewy and tasted of too much baking powder. I did like the big chunks of meat. The country potatoes were typical diner quality, but I just don't like country style breakfast potatoes. No substitution offered. Server was efficient if a bit rough around the edges. I sat at the counter. She made sure that I had everything I needed. That's okay, I'm happy enough, don't need a smile from some one who's bringing me food. Oh, yeah just like my old sourpuss mother. Now the value for the dollar issue... The breakfast was $22, the unremarkable coffee was $4.50. After tax and a $5 tip I was out the door for $33. I recently had a wwwwaaaayyy more satisfying breakfast at Mario's Early Toast for half that price. Hot off the griddle is a big improvement over a Denny's. But that's a pretty low bar for judgement. Sorry, no return for me.

Said that she came back from going to Corner Tavern & Grill and that the food was really good and that we should check it out. Being that we wanted to check out the Hype, we made our way down to the Restaurant today since it was only 3 miles away from where we lived. After walking into the Restaurant we were greeted by a Host and our Waitress asking if we wanted to just find a place to sit down. After finding a spot and sitting down we got comfortable and started looking over the menu. Our Waitress came over and started asking us about if we knew what we wanted to drink and my wife ordered a Mr Pibb and I ordered a Barq's Root Beer. After a few more minutes later the Waitress came back and asked us if we knew what we wanted to eat. I gladly mentioned that we would like the Bavarian Pretzel with the Beer Cheese and the Spicy Mustard. The waitress then mentioned she would bring over regular Mustard in case neither dipping sauce worked for us. A little while later our Bavarian Pretzel Sticks showed up and let me tell you they were hot, and very fresh. After dipping 1 Pretzel stick into the Beer Cheese, I had noticed that it had little pieces of Jalapenos in it and let me tell you that was very delicious with just a kick of heat. The Spicy Mustard on the other hand is like your normal Dijon Mustard type with a lathering of Horseradish and when you dip your Pretzel Stick into that, WHEW.. you're going to get a kick of spice and it may even help you open your sinuses. Probably about 5 minutes later our Waitress then came back and had asked how the Pretzel Sticks were and to our response was "Very delicious" and then we put in our order for a Salad to split and the Prime Rip Stromboli. The salad came out and let me tell you that the Gorgonzola Salad Dressing was so good on top of our Salad and when the Steak Stromboli came out it was hot, fresh and the Dipping Sauce was a Marinara sauce. From the beginning of our Experience to the food, to the friendliness of the Staff, and not just our Waitress because there was a food runner who ran out the food who was just as friendly, which is the main reason why I am giving this place 5 Stars. There was a whole bunch of other items on the menu that we wanted to try but that will be for another time. And oh by the way the Prime Rib Stromboli is Huge! If you have a Salad, the Bavarian Pretzels and then that, you will most certainly be full and you will walk away from that place very satisifed. So grateful that our Neighbor mentioned this place, can't wait to come back and try other food items.
