    3 Piece Fish & chips
    Nichole M.

I stopped by Tug Boat because I was seriously craving some fish and chips, and this spot did not disappoint. I placed my order over the phone, and the person who helped me had great phone etiquette, friendly, clear, and quick. By the time I arrived, my food was ready, hot, and super fresh. I ordered the 3-piece fish & chips, and let me tell you... these pieces were not small. You definitely get your money's worth here. The portions were generous, the batter was crispy, and everything tasted like it came straight out of the fryer in the best way. The inside could use a little updating, but honestly the quality of the food and the solid customer service more than make up for it. If you're craving classic fish and chips, this place hits the spot!

Stopped by early in a whim at 10:55am. I was pleasantly surprised by my greeting, seating and order taking. The fish and prawns were very good ( I did add salt). And there was a nice onion ring on top- next time I probably ly will order onion rings! Hot and fresh - really a great value!

Tried this Tugboat & it's great! Service fast & friendly. Nice small place with great food. Give it a try!

This place delivers. I think they're Korean owned? The batter was light, fish was perfectly cooked, clam chowder was hot and full of clams. A bit sad that fish tacos are only offered on Tuesdays. Tacos should be for everyday occasions. Please make fish tacos a staple. I really enjoyed this.

Ordered the fish and prawns whuch came with fries and some beer battered onion rungs and zucchini. Called in my order and it was ready and being pacjed up as soon as I walked in the door 10 mins later. Everything is good! Seriously some of the best I've had in a long time. The beer batter is perfect, the seafood tastes fresh, and the fries are tasty. Excellent service at the front counter too. Got the sense the guy who help me is the owner. I'll def be back

Best fish chips in town! Fish is always fresh, flakey, and crispy. I also really enjoy the fried mushrooms and zucchini.

Love this place. Great fish n chips but the hidden gem is the fried bananas. I like that they aren't stingy on the tartar sauce either.

We went here with a group last night and had the best experience. The quality and preparation of the food was beyond excellent. The ambience is great here, we love the old time, romantic feel. This is so rare in these times. Seems like we can't find anywhere really good to eat anymore. My only complaint on this Sunday, June 21st, is that after the initial basket of bread (which had exactly four pieces for the 4 of us) we were told by Reece that the restaurant charges $2.00 for each extra piece of bread! I was shocked, and frankly, it's an insult in my opinion, that Rudy's is so "cheap" about the bread! For all we pay for our dinners, asking for extra bread should not be a problem nor an extra charge! That really is a shame because now I am hesitant to consider bringing friends to Rudy's. I hope management will reconsider its' position on the service of bread.

They have an amazing happy hour menu that goes until 10 Pm. The prime rib tacos were SO amazing, not spicy, so flavorful and the texture of the corn salsa added so much to the whole bite. The garlic fries were fantastic, loaded with chopped garlic (jarred kind), parsley and parm. We also tried the loaded potato skins, they were great but I was pretty full by the time they came so we left a wounded soldier. The tumbleweed onion straws were also fantastic! My friends ordered prime rib, kabobs and the filet mignon and were nice enough to share! The prime rib is served on a sizzling plate with au jus, and was fantastic! The filet was well seasoned and the kabobs were good, although I prefer a little more rare. The appetizer happy hour menu had $6 and $8 items, food and drinks. The howdy beer was $4 and was pretty decent! My friends loved the $6 raspberry lemon drops! Above all of this though, our server was amazing. She worked her butt off for us and really made our visit Amazing. I'm the worst and only caught that her name started with a J, and she'd been there for 20 years. She was so attentive and recommended amazing dishes. I can't wait for our next annual trip, this place just became part of my tradition!

For a moment, we thought we had walked into Ruth's Chris! I honestly wanted to leave, but I didn't want to embarrass my other half. She ordered the 16-ounce prime rib dinner for $48 and asked for it as rare as they were willing to serve it. I ordered the smoky bbq bacon Burger for $23 and requested it medium done. The first prime rib they brought out was surprisingly small, extremely fatty, and well done--not even close to what she ordered. My burger was also cooked well done. I ate it because I didn't want to wait for another one, but she sent the prime rib back. The replacement was much better and properly cooked, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. The service was disappointing as well. My water glass sat empty for the last 30 minutes we were there, and nobody offered to refill it. She also tried the mashed potatoes for the first time, and we both thought they were terrible. They had a strange sweet, mayonnaise-like flavor that did not belong in mashed potatoes. Our bill was approximately $100 for one prime rib dinner, one burger, and no drinks other than water. At those prices, the food and service should have been much better. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to this location again.

We came by for a family lunch today right at opening after youngest promotion day. I'm sure it was strategically planned as he wanted to hit up Barnes and Nobles after for some books ;) I got myself a smart book worm kid I tell yah...must be my side of the family hahaha. Anyways, back to the review...we were the first diners to arrive. My oldest son is always down for Poke! Nolan ordered a large and it was 5 scoops of protein for $25.95 (fairly small scoops imo), with a base of his choice and he chose mix rice and mixed greens. I asked him what his thoughts were and he said it was nothing special and that it was kinda pricey for what he got. He also said he was confused when he was trying to pick the fish from the buffet space as it didn't match the signs in front of them so he had to order from the menu and watch the guys put it in his bowl. Not sure if they just weren't ready for us as we were the first diners of the day. My youngest ordered the Taco trio which consists of 1 Ahi Poke Taco, 1 Salmon Poke Taco and 1 Cooked Salmon Taco for $19.99. The entree came out looking pretty appetizing but we were disappointed that the taco shells were all stale. Not crunchy in anyway. My son ate most of the filling and left the shells. We ordered the SALMON CARPACCIO which was described as 7 pieces thinly sliced fresh salmon, microgreens, sesame seeds, japanese seven spice, yuzu ponzu for 18.50 to share. When this came out, my son was so surprised that it was so tiny as it was not enough to share so my little man had it all to himself. I couldn't decide what to order. I debated on the fish and chips but was told they didn't have batter so it was a no go special today. The said the poke nacho's was popular but I wasn't craving poke personally. So my partner and I ended up ordering (2) servings of Garlic Shrimp. When I asked how many shrimps came with the servings, the guy behind the counter didn't know. It came out with 7 shrimps and a tiny bit of garlic over a ton of rice. Flavor was good, I wanted more sauce and garlic to go with the rice we were given. This place doesn't skimp on rice in their bowls. All in all, portions to prices were a bit off for us. The guys behind the counters were nice. Place was clean.

Just before noon we were seated right away but it took several minutes before our server actually showed up. I noticed the ambiance was dark and hasn't changed AT ALL over the past 10-15 years. It is showing (and smelling) it's age and really needs a freshening up to a clean and modern take on Italian decor. Outdoor seating is available and the restaurant is in a well maintained shopping area near a grocery store. We loved seeing the fresh made bread coming out of the oven which is served with an oil/vinegar dip; however, the bread was doughy in the middle and became inedible. The Fettucini Alfredo for $25 was meh. The pasta was gummy and the sauce needed A LOT of salt, pepper and extra parmesan to amp up the flavor. The Penne with sausage was good with full flavored red sauce. And the pizza and other dishes that went by looked delicious but I based on this trip I am not sure we'll be back.

The servers were nice and wished us happy birthday multiple times, which was nice. We got the Broadbent North coast Cabernet, the Stoneleigh Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc as our drinks for the evening. Hubby loved his Cabernet. I loved my sauvignon. For food we ordered the calamari as an appetizer, 6 oz Angus cut fillet and the 12oz prime top loin cut with a side of mashed potatoes, cooked medium rare. The calamari was great - light, not too greasy, accompanied by a basil aioli and a modified marinara sauce, just wonderful! We got some complimentary bread but it wasn't freshly made, so the crust was a little tough. Among our steak options, the Angus cut was beautiful - tender, juicy, melting in the mouth. The top loin cut was more chewy especially on the outside, so we think it was cooked a little more than a medium rare. The center was better. Both portions were quite heavy. The mashed potatoes were decent - creamy and smooth but could have done with more seasoning. What soured things for us a little bit was the end of our meal. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they gave us a bowl of vanilla ice cream with candles to blow on. This is a very sweet sentiment. However, we didn't really ask for it. We were then charged for this "complimentary" dessert in the check. Yes, it was only $7 but why charge us for something that we didn't ask for in the first place! Considering that this is an upscale steakhouse with dishes priced as high as $75, it left a bad taste in my mouth that they can't throw in a free dessert on the house for a celebration. We paid $200 in total for the food and tips, so obviously be prepared for a pricey meal.
