I must admit I was skeptical about making a purchase here after all the horrible reviews but my experience was great! In store: I already knew the bed I wanted when I came in. Yesi confirmed that it was in stock and helped me select a mattress. He wasn't pushy but he did offer extras such as the extended warranty through Guardsman but I shut him down and we moved forward. Delivery: The delivery was scheduled for a Monday then I ended up having to reschedule to a Tuesday, again I was nervous. They told me they would be there Tuesday between 8:30am and 12:30pm. After spending 7k on a mattress and adjustable base that I was not pleased with upon delivery and set up, they refused to exchange or return any piece citing after it has been delivered we can't take it back.....And this was on the same day it was delivered! The dresser they delivered was damaged too. After a week they eventually sent someone out to adjust the bed that was not set up properly which I had not slept in since it was delivered. This location is so unprofessional. I ordered a bed and dresser with a mirror from this company over a month and a half ago. So the delivery was scheduled for this last Saturday and they moved the original time from 8-12pm to 2pm-6pm. Okay not a big deal. So 6 goes by 8 goes no call. I call them they said closer to 9/9:30. Not too happy about it but what can I do? 11:15pm the help comes and they come upstairs and 10 Mins later come back upstairs and says we are not taking it off the truck it is too late. So we go to the store the Sunday morning as soon as they open ask to speak to a manager. She helped us to the best of her ability. The deplorable service provided by Ashley furniture has nothing to do with Covid delays. In fact, Ashley's process for handling issues increased Covid exposure for their customer, employees and technicians by refusing to simply exchange items that were delivered damaged for new items. My brother in and law had me find bedroom sets for his sons for Christmas. The purchase was made on 12/21 at the Hawthorne location on Ocean Gate. We understood the furniture would not arrive until after Christmas. However, when it was delivered the mattresses were not. The delivery guys broke one of the headboards, one dresser and a lamp and also damaged one of the box springs. It took two more deliveries to get the mattresses and multiple visits and phone calls regarding the dresser and headboard. We just wanted the new furniture we paid for but we were told we had to let them try and repair it first. My brother in law lives about 75 miles away from me and driving back and forth is no small task. We have taken days off work, travelled back and forth and disrupted stay at home instruction for my nephew to allow Ashley ample opportunity to simply replace the two items. To no avail. I would not advise anyone to purchase anything from them ever. The ladies in customer service at the store are very helpful but they are at the mercy of the corporate offices. Please, save yourself the headache and frustrations. DO NOT pay for the extra furniture warranty with Protectall. It's incompetence at its best. They have scheduled 3 appointments with me to have a technician come out to replace the USB modules on the recliner/sofa and loveseat. First apptment, the technician wasn't given the correct address on the work order, so he just left instead of waiting to receive the correct address with his dispatcher. Second apptment, technician arrived but just took pictures. Ok, I took pictures when I filed the claim. He said they take pictures because they don't carry the parts with them, Protectall has to order the parts....WHAT! So the technician leaves. I follow up 5 days later, after not receiving a phone call and now I'm being told that the parts would be delivered to me (how do you know I'll be home) and once they are delivered, I'm to call back and someone will come out again. Wait, let me not forget the part about, when scheduling an apptment, they don't give you the time, they call you the day before the apptment and tell you what time they will be there. So I feel sorry for working people, you will either have to lie and call in sick or tell your employer the day before that you will be off the next day. The online Price Match Promise is not honored at this location. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to expose this bait and switch mentality being practice at this location under the Manager Charles. I went in to purchase a bed that I saw advertised at a significantly lower price than price-tagged in store. I was led to believe the bed retailed for $1,199.99 with a 40% discount. Except it was significant cheaper online at other retailers selling the Ashley brand. The sales person told me that the store only prices matches Ashley online prices. Which IS NOT what the Price Match Promise states. I left the store to research the Promise as I had believed I understood it. I was given incorrect information in store and was basically lied to. I called to speak with the manager who I learned was Charles. Charles attempted to educated me on Ashley being a manufacturer as well as retail store (which I knew). His point...I guess...was that Ashley is a distributor and may sell at prices contrary to competitors. Which means nothing to me. In fact, the manufacturer should never be undercut by his vendor, but that's Ashley's inhouse issue. The consumer issue is that Ashley does not support its own Promise and does not properly train its employees. I can purchase from the competitor, but I have never met a well run business that was successful with this behavior. Shame on you! Also note, when my daughter and I walked in we were not provided assistance. We were made to walk around the store to look for a bed which I was fine with. But, it shows their lack of care. The manager didn't do much just offered some discount on the same mattress I purchased in 2018. Ignorant, why would I want the same mattress again. Spoke to a lady today as they were to deliver my furniture today But, they didn't . Now they said it will be April 15th . The first delivery when I paid for the furniture was to be April 2nd, They never delivered it , so I called for the furniture that I paid in full, the person on the phone stated, the delivery will be April 5th . No one showed , so I called , the furniture will now be delivered on April 15th even though they have my chair in stock . The hassock is not available presently . One of the worst experience shopping for furniture. The 1st sales rep that assist us(husband and myself) was not happy that we wanted to buy a full size bed. She said "I don't know why adults would want a full size bed". She was or is on the heavy set, so I guess she uses a queen or king size bed. She wanted to sell us a $2,000 plus bedroom set. When I said no, she got up and had another sales rep assist. We should of left the store then. We really needed a bed, we stuck around. Once they had our money, the sales rep Eric, didn't return my husband's calls regarding the pcs we bought. It turns out we were not getting all the pcs we had agreed . So, we refused the order and got our money back. We had purchased $1,550 worth of furniture. I guess they don't care about customers. I wished I had read the reviews before we went. Unfortunately this has been the worst experience for me and my family. We went into the store and purchased a dining room set in December. They told us it would be delivered in January. A few days before our scheduled delivery, I reached out since nothing had been communicated with me. They let me know that the anticipated delivery was updated to May, 5 months later. Our new delivery date was set for tomorrow. I called today to inquire as no info was sent to me. I was informed that the deliver is now set for August. I understand that things are back ordered for many reasons but communication has been so terrible. It has been on the customer to reach out to find out if deliveries would be taking place. I would expect that Ashley would proactively reach out about deliveries, especially is there are extreme delays. I regret ordering with Ashley and I feel terrible leaving this review. Do not buy the protection plan or make sure you clearly understand what's covered and what's not. You must report any damage immediately. Salesperson led me to believe that when I paid for the $150 coverage, that it would be fixed. BUYER BEWARE If you purchase an item from Ashley Furniture anywhere in the country I recommend you go elsewhere. This was the worst experience. I ordered a dining room set and when it was delivered the marble table and one barstool was damaged. The delivery guy tried to tell me that the table was in good condition and try to get me to keep the item which I refused. They said someone will reach out to me the next day and discuss replacement which never happened. Two days later I called and was told I was placed on VIP status and the table will be examined before it leaves warehouse but was not given a delivery update and was told someone will call me back. One day later I received a call and was told another option was to go into the store and make an additional purchase and they would refund my order which was absurd. When asked to speak with a manager they won't let you, your told managers are not available and will not disclose why. Call center for delivery finally called me after four days to tell me I can receive my table December 8th which would make it 10 days in waiting which is unacceptable. They stated this was the earliest date on the calendar and no exceptions can be made. When asked to speak with a manager I was told there isn't one on duty which is a recurring statement from all employees. Employees must be trained to tell consumers managers don't exist only line staff. I was hoping yelp offered a different rating system because I would not have give any stars based on my experience. read more

We never felt pressured or up-sold, and Brian even worked with us to cut an extra deal on top of their 50% off sale. I would recommend the store to anyone in the market for some furniture. First time in an 'Ashley Homestore' and also the last. I was here the weekend of June 21st with my girlfriend on a whim, and right as we walked in were greeted by an over-eager salesman who was trying to push us toward items that were part of a sale (I don't remember exactly what he said, here we thought we were going to just be walking around, but were instead hit by a man spouting 'sales-men vernacular with the force of a train' the moment we entered). Had we been "Yes people" and had been any more timid, we probably would have been coaxed into his overbearing-ness and joined him on whatever it was he 'wanted to get us started on' (I think some sort of card) but we told him "we were browsing", (as we were, though that doesn't mean our minds wouldn't change later on, for I wanted to look at bed frames and possibly other furniture). Thinking that was enough, that answer clearly wasn't a good ending point for him and he proceeded to talk for another 15 seconds (I forgot about what) without even asking if we were interested in anything specifically. Or maybe he did? I think at that point we just wanted to get away, and again, said "no thank you" (what we meant to say was "hey buddy, we just met, let's let this friendship ferment a bit, yeah?"). In my head I was thinking "maybe we should leave, because chances are everyone else in this store is going to flock to us with the same questions and brevity", but I figured maybe we wouldn't be approached again. Maybe 3-5 minutes passed as we made our way around the right half of the store, when we came upon the back room, which was (much to my satisfaction) completely filled with mattresses (and maybe sellable bed frames? We never found out). As we were about to traverse this room, I noticed the same employee who overtly greeted us at the door was lingering behind us, talking to his fellow sales folk. I had an inkling he was going to approach, but was hoping he would vanish if we didn't acknowledge him or face his general direction. But of course, luck is arbitrary, and he zipped his way over, asking in a salesmen-esque trance if we needed anything, and I think again, mentioning the sale. At this point, we were both annoyed, for based on how he greeted us the second time, it was as if he forgot everything we had told him from our first encounter, and later on brought up how it was if he followed us from the front to the back in hopes of changing our mind. At that point I figured I should ask him about bed frames and what was available in store since the opportunity had involuntarily presented itself. He was about to lead us to said bed frames, and I was actually thinking "hey, maybe this won't be so bad and he'll unknowingly redeem himself", when he stopped and mentioned some sort of 'electronic bed frame than can adjust its incline' or something along those lines, I don't remember. I'm assuming this was part of the sale and he'd probably get commission for if he sold this thing to us? But the moment he said there was 'some sort of remote' or something like that, my brain did the math and I was aware that this transforming frame was potentially treading into 'fancy territory' and this clearly wouldn't be in my budget. We reminded him, "thats okay, we are just browsing" but before we could utter another word, in the blink of an eye (without a word) he changed his demeanor, facial expression, then U-turned and sped right out of the room. My girlfriend and I looked at each other as he jetted off, our mouths agape, and I said "did he just leave? We wanted him to show us bed frames!" I totally understand the whole 'commission' aspect of the job, but what the heck was that for? Besides, once again as I stated earlier, "browsing" doesn't mean someone one hundred percent won't buy anything. PLUS we had clearly asked about bed frames and were just not interested in getting a front row seat to seeing this 'super fancy adjusting frame thing-a-ma-bob', in no way did we drop our interest in viewing the selection of mattresses in that short amount of time. It was clear that his intentions were not in line with that of an employee who harbors an aura of great customer service, but more so one bent solely on meeting a quota. We decided to leave, and didn't explore the mattress room ourselves or the left half of the store. I don't think I've ever felt like that while shopping, and it was a great reminder of how maybe it would be best to stick to other places or online as to not have to feel the awkward pressure of a salesman trying to get you to look at stuff you don't need. Reading other negative reviews on this page also helps to drive the whole point of this review home. SCAM Store! Please don't buy anything from this company. Overpriced beyond anything. A simple pillow overpriced to $50. A little crappy plant was $39.99 and they run a insurance scam where you buy protection for your product (i e dining table) and with promise of full replacement for any reason, but when you call they don't honor it. They say that you should have called within 30 days of the purchase. What's the point of buying $99 protection plan if you are gonna use it within 30 days? I had/currently having the worst exp. with this store. I purchased a bed set and scheduled a delivery date, was told I could move the date up to sooner if I wanted. So I called to do just that and was told there were no sooner dates. So I asked should I check back later, the girl on the phone said no. ( thats odd right, there could be a cancellation). I just happen to check back later the same day and guess what, I could change the date to any day I wanted no problem. /:-( I then got the delivery they sent the wrong parts for my bed. They said no problem, we'll just come back out tomorrow. That was a LIE!!! They tried to schedule me days out even though I explained I dont have a bed to sleep in. They couldn't care less! I called and called to get to a manager, the manager at dispatch and the store didnt want to deal with me ( even though I was irritated but still polite)... I know this because when the manager from dispatched finally talked to me... as we got off the phone I heard her say, "that wasn't as bad as I thought".... really??? I just explained I have to sleep on the floor until I get my bed. The customer service was amazing. Once we had chosen our set and the sale went through, nothing but nightmares. First, our delivery was delayed two weeks. Then , I had to have them deliver our couch and love seat prior to other items that were on back order. When the couches were delivered, they sliced the couch with their box cutter. It took two weeks for a "inspector" to come by and take photos just to receive an email stating they need to send the replacement piece to me and then have their tech come by and fix it. (No mention of WHY it was on the truck when we cancelled the order four days ago.) It has to be "scanned into the warehouse" tonight and we have to go back tomorrow to get our money back. Purchased some bed sets for a new home from Ashley Furniture. When my family and I first arrived in the store, Sales associate 'Mo' immediately welcomed us, introduced promotional items, and assisted as we needed while searching for items. We love Mo and the service her provided. BUT, the delivery service 'lack of professionals' was another story. Today, two men came to deliver and set up home furniture bought from Ashley Furniture. On several occasions, items were dropped on our brand new floor, items were knocked over, walls were pushed against, and more... one person in particular had an attitude with a simple request to help put our mattress on our bed (it's heavy and she is older). Wasted hours of hours of my time for what should have been very simple- store blames delivery - delivery blames warehouse- warehouse blames some dept called hcc- then Simone tells me to call store again- no ownership by anyone in the process which is seen as a whole from the consumers standpoint. read more

Buyers beware! This place is a total scam and rip off. What I purchased and what they delivered were totally different and did I also mention all scratched up? When I called the store and the customer service line nobody was able to help me and all they mentioned was that it was all sales final. I highly recommend purchasing furniture from Wayfare as they have so much better customer service. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Do not shop here at any cost!
