My husband and I were shopping for a reclining chair.We were helped first by a lady that was very helpful while we were deciding she sent over a gentleman Thang Tran to complete our purchase.The problem was when we went to pick up our recliner and Kevinnwas trying to force our recliner through a small single door.When we said it was not going to fit he became agitated with us and had a attitude. When we were loading up the chair he removed the power cord . BUYERS BEWARE!!! home delivery team came on wrong day, put no flooring protection down, damaged brand-new hardwood floors. Ashley then pointed to the contract for delivery that everybody signs without thinking, basically stating they can do anything to your house and have no responsibility for the damages. Ashley has a class action lawsuit that they lost, regarding deceptive sales tactics, they're still using these tactics in the store. Be prepared to spend a lot more money than you think you're spending because they're hiding cost. The only reason they are not one star, is because the furniture is high-quality. probably nobody's really willing to spend $5000 in quality furniture, so they deceptively make it seem like it's $3000, just keep in mind. We have been doing business with Ashley for over 20 years. However after this recent experience we will look elsewhere for our home furniture and would never recommend them to anyone! We purchased a cocktail table and two matching end tables for $720. (Also a sofa and loveseat, total invoice $2,517.71) The salesman sold us the 5 year extended warranty protection at $289.99, telling us IT COVERS EVERYTHING on these pieces for 5 years, no matter what the reason for the damage. Over the the last couple of months the laminate around the edges of the cocktail table began peeling off. I called the warranty company and told them what was happening to the table. She proceeded to tell me that it wasn't covered because you have to notify them within 30 days of the damage occurring AND it only covers ONE AREA OF DAMAGE ON THE PIECE OF FURNITURE! I asked to speak to a supervisor and got the same answer! I then called the Ashley's store and the manager said they couldn't help me, it has to be the warranty company to make any exception. He was so welcoming and personable; talking with us about family and smiling in our faces. He promised us a "five year, zero interest" financing option which he and my husband talked about multiple times during the interaction, and again during purchase. It's one year later and we get a $700+ interest charge. Looks like he got us!! When he checked the contract, we realize he snuck it in that we would only be on a "12 month no interest" plan. It's already been sent to the credit agency and they "can't do anything for us" except promise to have the store manager call us (which of course also never happened). I would give this Ashley Home store in Huntington Beach a 0 rating if I could. My husband and I bought a sofa this past Sunday in person from salesperson, Bruce. He gave us a delivery date of today, Thursday. Ashley delivery dept. texted me on Monday to reply YES if Thursday delivery was good. I replied yes. And they responded that delivery would be Thursday, today Then, yesterday afternoon I got a message to call the store as the delivery got pushed out. I called back and spoke with Michelle who said my delivery was not confirmed with me and they could not deliver it til Saturday. I said the delivery was confirmed for Thursday via text from them. She said she would check on it and call me back. As of 11am today I had not received a call. I called the store but no answer, was transfered to customer service, Kim at corporate, she was not at H.B. store. She looked up my order and said the sofa was NOT in stock and backordered til 6-3-24. I told her the local store NEVER mentioned it was on backorder and never called back. Don't buy from this store. The worst! Bought three items here and was told they were all in stock. Delivery was scheduled for three weeks after purchase. Two days before the delivery date they called to say only two items were available and did I still want delivery I said yes although they could not tell me when the third item would be delivered. They call/text every few hours and update on delivery. 10 minutes before they pulled into my house they told me they only had one item on the truck and did I want to refuse that item and wait for all three. I asked them to deliver the one item they had and immediately got on the phone with customer service at the dispatch center. The dispatch assured me all items were available in the warehouse and they did not know why my items were not delivered but I would be on a VIP delivery for the rest of my items in three days. Nothing but crickets ever since. Called the salesman (Zac) who sold me all of it twice. No return call ever. Since nobody will answer the phone at the store I had to drive to the store on Edinger to find out why I still don't have my items. Nobody seems to know anything!!! In person at the store (after waiting to talk to a manager who verified the delivery was NEVER EVEN SCI was told they have no idea about the warehouse they can't control delivery and they suggest I tried to contact customer service at the warehouse again. How is this My Issue to track down my items??? They couldn't care any less that my items are missing. They got paid almost four weeks ago and that's all they seem to care about. Read before u buy- It's been over 2 months of run around from these people. The guy who helped us, John, nice kid, but need to be trained better, he ordered us the wrong thing a few times and didn't follow up on any of our issues. When we were in there asking about our things another sales lady told us "u should have had a more seasoned sales person." Like u got to choose my sales person. After purchasing all of a sudden a bunch of the things were on back order. We have literally been in the store once a week for since Labor Day (it's 11/16 today) trying to get this all figured out. We finally got everything and it's just bad. The mattress was on back order but they "found one in the the back of a wherehouse" should have know that would be bad, and yep, it's soft in one side and super stiff on the other, had a straight up crater in one side. Then the bed frame, I waited for months for them to tell me it's discontinued, and to pick a new one, too bad none match the entire furniture set they sold us with the bed frame. So they again "found one" they had it delivered, with no warning at 8pm, lucky I was home. It was a floor model, that they didn't disclose, and it had cracks they must have fixed in the truck because it was still wet when they gave it to us. Now one of the dressers is cracking all the way around. Instead of replacing any of it they have sent 2 guys that keep leaving my door open and letting my cats out to fix it. They had ever excuse not to fix it, but they r fixing the dresser in the most half assed way and said they can't do anything about the mattress. Google what this place is dealing with before purchasing, they have some lawsuits on them. Wish I would have check them out, they were great 10 years ago when I bought before, so I went for it, but it's not anymore. Every person I've mentioned any of this to follows up with they had an issue too. I bought 7k worth of furniture and they treat is like Shit. Are you looking for quality furniture, that is easy to put together, and non-sleazy salespeople? Then do NOT come here. Spent well over a thousand dollars on a bedroom set. I said what I wanted, then was passed off to two different salespeople. They pushed me onto other things against what I was looking for and saying whatever they could to make the sale. When I say I would rather spend 8 hours a day, for the next 365 days at the DMV, I mean it. That would leave a better experience than what Ashley has put me through, and at least they wouldn't have been as expensive. After it was all delivered, I absolutely hated it all. Half the stuff came scratched as hell and creaky. Called to exchange it, and only at THAT time did they inform me it was all final sale. Isn't that something that should be conveyed at the time of the sale?? The sales manager Josh informed me that it's stated on the RECEIPT that it is all final sale. So the only place that it says it's final sale is literally after the purchase is made. Fast forward three weeks. Three additional trips into the store. Finally Josh Somehow pulled a bed frame that looked great in pictures and aligned with what I asked for originally. (Where was this weeks ago???) I bought it. But guess what!! It costed more. So after the hassle I had an additional cost compounded with months of frustration. Whatever. It gets delivered today, and I paid for delivery and setup. I was informed that this specific frame was "customer assembly only". I asked the delivery guys why they couldn't set it up- they said "oh because it will take us (two people that do this professionally) way too long to set up. Like a couple hours. We have other deliveries to make so they don't let us help you set it up". So that means I, alone, got to just waste FOUR HOURS of my day setting this thing up. I'm no stranger to carpentry, setting up furniture, or tools. And it still took me 4 hours. Aaand guess what! This thing is louder than a jet engine when you sit on it/lay on it. Literally construction sites are quieter than this bed frame. All in all, I sincerely hope Ashley furniture goes out of business. I know that will never happen, especially from this review. However, if I can save even ONE other person from the stress, money, anxiety, and frustration that I've gone through over the last three weeks, than this review is worth it. This review is mainly about my experience with their furniture delivery and not this particular store. The staff here at this store were fine and we made a deal and their timelines were met. However, today was delivery day and I got a call in the morning giving me a 4 hour window. As the window was during our lunch time I wanted more clarity on the 4 hour window as to which hour it might be as I have a 5 year old and we needed to go get him lunch. The lady on the phone told me that I would be getting a call 30-45 minutes in advance. So I thought that's fine we'll stay around town and head home after I get the phone call. Well, my son started getting hangry so I drove out around 20 minutes away to get us all some lunch. Low and behold, the call comes through. A robotic voice says the driver is 3 minutes away. I said that it couldn't be, it must have meant 30 minutes. 3 minutes later, I get a call from a driver, says can you open the door? I said I can be back there in 20-30 minutes, but I can open the door for you now remotely. He said he needed someone there. I said I will be there, just start putting the furniture in because it's going to take you at least that much time. He gets disconnected and I unlock the door and I tried to call him back several times. Phone just keeps ringing. I sent him a text, and no reply. I check my cameras and they are not in the house. I figure it's a no go and I go into a restaurant, sit down and order food. Then I get a call from Ashley and it's some rep on the phone says they are waiting. I said just deliver the furniture. I'll come right back after I'm done. They told me that's not possible, so they can come back later. Of course I don't get this call later. I've spent some 10k or so over the last several years with them on furniture. Never had a delivery issue like this before. I get onto online chat with them and tell them just cancel the order. The delivery team is just plain incompetent. Had they have just called me 30-45 minutes in advance we would have never had this issue. I went to Ashley's Home Store, Fountain Valley, 'just to look' at their inventory on dinette sets. My mother and I were kindly greeted with a warm smile by the sales person named Willi. Without the typical sales pressure, Willi asked me what was I interested in and showed us their selection. I was impressed with what I saw and it made me curious as to what kind of bed sets they had because I was also in the market for a new one. Sure enough, I found a very nice contemporary bedroom set. Remember I went in 'just to look,' but with the great offers, great service and great financing to fit my budget-- I now have a new dinette and bedroom set. Willi also did a follow up regarding our delivery and if everything went okay. I appreciate Willi having thoroughly explained everything from start to finish. Between July 24th delivery day through today 8/6/21, I have attempted 12 different times to contact to speak to the right person, was placed on hold between 21-43 mins at a time, to just be told I need to use my warranty that came along with the purchase or call the adjustable base team who will come out and fix it, to leave a message on answering machine when I transfer you & you will receive a call back with 24 to 48 business hours. The purchasing process was fine. Purchased 06/16, went in on 06/22 to refund the order and had it put on a different card and that process went nice and smoothly. I put it on a different card because I wanted the perks the card came with. Told the sales rep, I would like it delivered on 07/17. As the deliver date came around. I was waiting for an update. Did not receive an email confirmation for a time frame of the delivery. Did not even receive a notice that the product was NOT going to be delivered. Had to call and ask, "why my product wasn't being delivered and why no one had contacted me?". Rep said one side of the couch was damaged. Understandable. But couldn't tell me why I wasn't contacted or emailed. Pretty inconvenient. Said the product wouldn't be available until Aug 11.. and that is only when they would receive it in their warehouse. That's not even including a date for delivery. Called and asked for a refund on Sunday 07/18, the store rep put me on hold and told me he's going to process the refund. Asked for the refund confirmation number. Waited 3-5 business days. Day 7 comes around, still no sign of a refund back on my card. Called today and apparently I waited for no reason because he didn't even process a refund onto my card. The rep just provided me with my previous refund confirmation and didn't even process a refund on my second card, the one that had the purchase on it. The lack of communication and carelessness made me not want to ever purchase anything from the Ashley store or recommend people here. Had a much better experience at Living Spaces. So, it's official Ashley Home Stores managed to screw up my credit in the middle of trying to refinance our mortgage which is now going to cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars because I won't get the best interest rate possible. Our credit report at all 3 agency's shows our account over the limit by $4,400. Which we never authorized. We purchased products for $8,000 and was over charged by $4,400.. Ashley has yet to refund us, months later. It just isn't fair, all we wanted to do was buy a new bedroom set and enjoy in our home. Instead I received a bedroom set that was dysfunctional, damage to our hardwood floors, negative credit report, and screwing up my refinance.
