I should have read all the reviews before buying a sofa from this store. Customer service is absolutely atrocious. Upon delivery, which was a day later than originally promised, the wedge was irreparably damaged. I was told I was going to get a phone call which never happened to replace the part. Manager told us that it would be replaced three weeks later. Now they told me they are going to try and repair a structurally damaged wedge before replacing the piece before shipping the wedge and actually replacing the piece. Now we are going to have to host Thanksgiving with half a couch and they are not compensating anything for the delay on delivery if they ever deliver an undamaged sofa. We are never buying from this place again and telling all of our family and friends to never buy from this store unless they want to deal with a headache. read more

Tony La is the absolute best! I had some issues with my furniture being able to fit through the hallway during delivery and when I spoke to Tony he gave me multiple options that would help me!!! He also went above and beyond to track my order and ensure it was delivered exactly when I needed it. He was very responsive even in his days off and it was truly appreciated. What do I have to say. Well we are from California and the gps directed us to park in the back of the building. We had mike (associate) greet us at the door letting us know the main entrance was in the front but he no problem walking us in and speaking to us on why we are here. We had a wonderful conversation then he explained the layout of the store then let us adventure. Mike then found us a few min later checking up on us we did not find much yet but few moments later I was waiting for mike to find me knowing he will knowing he would provide great customer service. We had issues with our credit but mike made us feel comfortable with helping us get through the process. I will be coming back and will recommend to friends and family. The showroom was great. The sales people were friendly.....but the important part was neglected. After purchase and walking out the door, with the guarantee of delivery 3 months down the road the nightmare began. First Strike. Delivery day came, sofa bed didn't fit the apartment elevator or the normal sized staircase of which this building has two of. Second Strike. Was charged additional $250 for redelivery and for a technician to come and assemble. Was told that it was in the RECEIPT; they are NOT RESPONSIBLE, we are responsible that they couldn't deliver into the apartment. Third Strike. Waited entire day of supposed reassembly day (16hrs). Pieces of the couch was delivered early in the day but no technician. They lied. Supposedly....the technician was on his way. NO call and never showed up. Very unprofessional. Fourth Strike. A $600 accent chair I bought was defective, had it for less than one week and the legs cracked. Called customer service multiple times and was told they never received the emails and documentation. Finally we had enough and drove to the store, desk person asked us to send via my phone to her email ..... she received it right away with no issues. I saw a comforter set that I loved online and wanted to see if they sold it in the store. We were greeted immediately by a very helpful and nice gentleman named Tom Villalva. He waited patiently as I looked through my photos of the screen shot. When I couldn't find it he took us over to this giant display that brings up the items for sale at Ashley furniture. We looked up the bedroom set it was on and at the same time I noticed the bedspread and pillow cases on the show room floor. Tom had told us when we walked in if it's not in stock we can buy it off the show room floor. Tom made us feel so good even though we were not buying furniture. He gave us his full attention. He got us a discounted price for the floor model bedspread set. The other sales people were also warm and friendly and the person who checked us out was very nice. Minority Customers Beware!!! On November 19,2021 My mother and I came to Ashley HomeStore looking to purchase a dining set. At 6:30pm, we spoke to Tom (who was excellent) and he gave us the price of $2,926.86 for the Porter 7 piece Dining Set, which included tax & delivery. We were about to pay for the Dining Set at 8:17pm when MASCOD MIZRA, General Manager, comes and tell Tom that he gave us the wrong price. Mascod then looked at us and said "I'm going to give you my price take it or leave it". We followed him to the nearest computer. I was having a side conversation with my mom and mentioned to her if Mascod's price is a huge difference we'll check out the Ashley's in Linden, NJ. Mascod turns around and says, "you can go somewhere else that can give you the better price". As I took a phone call, Mascod said the final price is $2,980 and walks away and goes to the back. He did not offer an explanation, just walked away! I would not have left and not purchase the dining set for only $54! However, I did leave due to Mascod's demeaning, disrespectful, and unprofessional tone and approach. As the General Manager of the North Brunswick Ashley Home store, he lacks BASIC customer service skills. How do you leave a customer sitting there and not complete the sale for $54!?? This was a horrible experience from start to finish. Ordered my dining room table in November, knew I wasn't getting it anytime soon. That was fine with me , totally understandable. I call in April, they were waiting on the table top , still not a problem. It gets delivered in March, 2 weeks later the veneer starts peeling off in 10 places. I try calling the furniture protection that I purchased separately, (never again) and the come a month later and make me wait 2 weeks for them to tell me it's my fault for not maintaining it. So I call Ashley because I find out it's under manufacturer warranty for a year. I send them pictures and they get right on the phone, ( fastest reply ever) to tell me nope it's my fault. How the shoddy workmanship is my fault I'll never know. I will never buy anything from Ashley again, I would never recommend Ashley again and I'm telling all my friends and family to stay away from them. They were nice enough to offer to replace it, but they choose when it works for them and charge you a 25% fee if it didn't work for you. We bought a sofa for $1200 4.5 yrs ago and were told it was leather. About a year ago I noticed some small tears in the fabric, which was NOT leather. The tearing kept getting worse and my husband discovered a class action suit against the company for this sofa. It is not leather, it is garbage! He emailed the company and received nothing. Today I went to the store and was told they never received our email, so I showed them the pictures and my receipt and was told Joe would contact me, which he did. I used to think these reviews were exaggerated and a small of monthly customers a store sees. Man I wish I listened, I had/having a horrible experience with this store. I ordered furniture Sunday on Labor Day weekend . I was told to expect to have the furniture sep 21st or sooner 2.5 weeks seemed pretty reasonable for a bed and small dresser. Fast forward September 21st arrives. No furniture. I call the store and they have caller ID so they dnt need any information to look up your account they automatically use your phone number. So the employee at first didn't want to help me she kept sending me to a customer care number that's always busy . I eventually called back and finally she decides to look into where my furniture was. She says, "we have been calling you to schedule delivery but u haven't been picking up." I say we'll what number have you been calling . She proceeds to read me a wrong number... Keep in mind she used my actual number from the caller ID to look up my account. So how does my real number have a wrong number saved under the account!? Moving forward I schedule delivery for the only day they had available Saturday (they dnt give you an option in time of day they deliver , you will get an automated call the day before which will relay a 4-5 hour gap window for delivery (Also the automated call tells you if you are not home during the time of delivery you will get charged a re delivery fee!!! They make that loud and clear). You can't dispute it's be there or cancel delivery. I got a automated call Friday and they said the furniture would be delivered between 11-4 ish I believe. Saturday comes around 1245 I get a call my delivery has arrived . I only ordered a bed and 2 small dressers. So I go downstairs and the delivery guy asks me do I have the piece of bed they are missing .. lol no why would I have that . He states they forgot to load the foot of the bed so he is unable to make the delivery. He said I can take the two dressers though if I want which I excepted and called the delivery supervisor tony who acknowledged the era.I rescheduled delivery for Tuesday. I get a call later that day rescheduling too Wednesday , the employee stated she overbooked Tuesday. Ok I agree I have no choice I want my bed been sleeping on a couch. Fast forward Tuesday I get the automated call telling my delivery will arrive in between 11am and 3pm and IF I MISS THE DELIVERY I WILL GET CHARGEd A RE DELIVERY FEE. Ok cool I took off work . Wednesday come I get a call from a delivery guy AND HE ASKS ME DO I HAVE PARTS TO THE BED ALREADY!!!! I say no why would I have what your supposed to be delivering . He say yikes I'm sorry I will call you back. I receive no call back . Around 250 I call the store and janine stated she will check up on delivery for me. A hour goes by I call back janine stated she can't get in contact with them and she will keep calling. I'm writing this review and when I'm done I'm going to call back to receive more b.s. I took off 2 days off work and still dnt have my bed . The first failed delivery tony told me he couldn't compensate me in any way and rescheduling was my only option. I know this time I will get the same news. I find it hilarious they give you an automated call the day before delivery that says if you miss delivery YOU WILL GET A RE DELIVERY FEE. But if the mess up delivery you the customer are beat. It's September 28th and I still dnt have a bed I ordered September 4th. Not going to say dnt order from this place cause maybe they just having a bad month . But I will say this has been the worst customer service/ furniture experience I have ever had . So he step away, go back after 2 minutes and said he will help us and said dont wait for Kyle cause his with 2 other customers and said Kyle didn't even write anything anything yet. He was so insisted and pushy wanting to help us! So I told him what we need to buy and told him about the deal Kyle gave us. Kyle promised us 48 months finance with no interest and 55 percent off discount since they have Black Friday deal going on today, but we have to spend $5000 or more. We were okay to spend $5000 btw! Since from the start i told Kyle I need the 72 months or 60 months finance with NO interest but Kyle can only offer us the 48 months and we agreed with that. But when we told steven about the deal we were offered from Kyle, he rudely with a tone said there is NO way I can give you 48 months no interest with 55% discount! So he basically said I was lying???!!! He also said Kyle cannot authorize that! If I were the manager cannot offer you that what do you think that kyle can offer you that?! The way he say it was very rude!!! I told him I have the same finance offer with other furniture store too but I decided to come to Ashley store since ashley have a good discount going on, my friend said they have good quality and my husband already being APPROVED with Ashley credit card . He said he have to ask his manager???? What the hell, i thought you the manager????? WOW so the guy was lied to us just to steal other sales customer???? I want to start by saying I understand that with Covid it is difficult with inventory. Having said that, I ordered my sectional on July 5th and told there was one section that wasn't in but that it wouldn't take long and they would call on Monday to set up a delivery date. A week later I called to check because I never heard from anyone. They told me they had no idea when the piece would be available but that they would call me. A month later I had to call yet again and they said it would be on August 15th and they would call me to set up delivery. As expected I didn't hear from anyone. I called around the 15th and they told me it was delayed until August 28th. Repeat 2 more times. As of this morning, it was pushed back to September 15th with no end in sight. Delays I understand and have been more than patient. The lack of communication on their part is astounding since July 5th they have never contacted me first when my piece was pushed back yet again. They are rude when I call and they have not offered anything to compensate for our patience and understanding. They have not apologized once for their companies delays. I have had 2 friends order sectionals from 2 other places since I have purchased mine. One has received her couch and one they were very up front with her about the delays and gave her a reasonable delivery date. I will never recommend Ashley Furniture nor will I ever shop here again. Terrible delivery service. I purchased a bedroom set on November 23 that I wanted as soon as possible. They said the soonest they could deliver was December 3. They promised to deliver it on Dec. 5. That date got pushed to Dec. 10 because it wasn't in the warehouse. What were they looking at when they set the delivery date. On Dec. 9 they called and set the deliver time for the next day. The next day, they never showed up. No phone call - nothing. My son took off from work to be home for the delivery. When we called the furniture store blamed the delivery service. When I called the deliver service they blamed the furniture store saying the furniture only came to the warehouse that same day. They said they'd try to get it to us before Christmas. Meanwhile we are paying rent in a place with no furniture. I complained and the delivery service rescheduled for the 14th. Today they drop the furniture off and leave the platform bed in boxes and tell my son he is on his own to put the bed together. If he wants a technician he has to schedule it for the next business day. I've never heard of such a thing ever. I will NEVER buy furniture from Ashley ever again. I recommend no one ever go here I was you want sub par service and to put your own furniture together. UNREAL - and completely unacceptable. Shame on you Ashley. Once again the 5th delivery attempt - they deliver an even worse damaged footboard. Just can't get it right Ashley. Just don't care about your customers. Pretty nice showroom. Sales people slightly pushier than average for a commission based product, but nice enough. We were here ready to buy... but they kept pushing and pushing and pushing us to get this extended warranty. I was skeptical so I asked to see the contract. They handed me a glossy pamphlet. I said I wanted to see the fine print, so they gave me an enrollment form (printed on their inkjet, no fine print or details). They then told me that the only way I could see the fine print was to buy the item and the warranty and then they would mail it to me! Has all the hallmarks of a scam. Plus they kept pushing back the delivery date every time we asked- from early May (6+ weeks!!) to later and later... Our instincts told us to leave and we did. read more

I normally wouldn't mention a sales person by name but Mike did everything he could to help us out and get us the right price within our budget. The delivery date has now been pushed back 3 months and Ashley cannot provide anything but a vague ETA that changes every 2 weeks. Never been so frustrated with a store in my life. Back in August, my boyfriend and I ordered a full bedroom set and sectional through Your salesperson Moe. We ordered over a month out from delivery to ensure there was plenty of time. A week before delivery, we are told our dresser was damaged and wouldnt be coming. On delivery day, one of the sectional pieces was incorrect and the entire color of the couch was wrong (Moe confirmed it was his error). Now it's a month and a half later... we finally received our dresser after demanding they send it, and it's slightly damaged upon delivery once again. Still do not have an ETA on our sectional. Every time we call they push it back another week. It was 10/12, then 10/18, now "the week of the 23rd." Would've never ordered from this store knowing that it'd take over a month and half (or more) to get our pieces. Customer service has been of zero help so we've resorted to contacting corporate. However my wife and I replaced our living room sofa love seat and chair with products from Ashley and have found the quality to be very poor. We had issues with the cushions flattening out after only 3 months they did sent us replacement parts but of course they have not last because they exactly the same as the first ones . Also problems with the legs always come loose We are afraid to sit on these pieces,they seem to be fragile, go figure furniture that's fragile and it's not like I paid discount prices . For all the money I spent I would go some place else. Be careful about the warranty, we bought it too, it only covers ACCIDENTAL damage not the pics falling apart from poor quality manufacturing. When i came back to store to check my delivery of new dresser, they asked me to reach customer service. Customer service was unable to give me estimate of delivery. So when i went back to store, they said they dont care about delivery as customer service can only handle this situation. They were all very courteous and friendly before payment. I usually get my furniture from Ashley because they have a wonderful selection. I bought my couch in August of 2016. In October of 2017 I called to let them know that my couch which is a sofa sleeper is completely sinking in the middle of the couch. This is no exaggeration... i have been on the phone with this store every single week more than one day a week since October and have YET to receive anything to fix my couch. Every time I do get a hold of someone they tell me the previous person I spoke to never put the order in, so they tell me they will handle it and call me back... no one calls back and I start the process all over again. It got to a point where I called corporate and corporate let me know that even though the Ashley Furniture name is on the building the store is privately owned and they cannot help me. On 11/16/2019, I purchased a sofa and love seat. I received great customer service from C.J Wise and Mike T. and that is why I am giving my experience a 2 and not a 1. I was excited about my purchase and was told that my furniture could be delivered any day after 11/26/2019. I wanted the furniture to be delivered before Thanksgiving so I selected 11/27/2019 as my delivery date. I was advised that this date was open and available for my furniture to be delivered. I was also told that the delivery company would notify me 2 days in advance to give a time frame of when I should expect delivery. On 11/25/2019, I received a text message confirming that my delivery would come on 11/27/2019 between 10am and 2pm. On 11/26/2019 I called customer service to see if they could notify me 30 minutes before the arrival time. I was told by 3 different reps that my furniture was not going to be delivered on the scheduled date. They said the pieces were not in. In the end, I cancelled my order because everything was very unprofessional. I received a text message saying my order was going to be delivered as scheduled and when I call I am told that the furniture is not ready. No one from Ashley Furniture called me to let me know that the furniture was not going to be delivered in advance. I did not feel that my business was appreciated. There were no solutions or offers made to me to show that the company was truly apologetic for not delivering on the agreed upon date. I had to make changes to my work schedule to accommodate the delivery that did not take place. If there was more effort put in to trying to find where things went wrong and if I was notified in advance, then I would be fine with the delivery coming at a later date. I was not happy and cancelled my credit card with Ashley Furniture as well as the furniture set. As a company, you need to do better with communicating with your customers and making sure that you deliver on agreements. Lot of stock is always on moving out Sale!. Quality is okay, customer service is not great. Received the delivery with year service warranty. Delivered the furniture with scratches, didn't notice when the trucking company was there. Called the office later and left message no one called me back. The staff was extremely helpful and assertive to assist me with all of my needs. Trever the manager on duty has incredible enthusiasm and guided me in the right direction in terms of make and style of furniture I was interested in. Nancy the floor associate also was very helpful and showed me numerous models while staying in my price range. I believe a great experience has a lot to do with who helps you. Purchasing furniture is part of making a home and I felt right at home with the staff at Ashley Furniture HomeStore in North Brunswick especially the help of Trever and Nancy. Bought some leather couches a few years ago.... they didn't hold up at all. The frames broke, the leather peeled. The warranty was a joke. The kitchen table and chairs have been fantastic though. Do Not Order from this store! Unfortunately we received our furniture with paint on the back. We wanted to put these small tables next to our couch - which we no longer can due to the paint. We called the Service department over and over and there response is: "furniture is supposed to go up against the wall, so we can't take it back." So much for enjoying my open concept living room! Please DO NOT order any furniture from this store - it is MANDATORY that it goes up against the wall. They said this is true for couches as well - so they are allowed to put anything on the back of it and you can't return it. Very disappointing! read more

If I could give this store negative stars I would. We ordered a couch in mid February to insure that when we moved in early March we would have it. The couch was originally scheduled for March 9th, but no one ever called to schedule the delivery. When we called, no one could explain where the couch was. They then told us March 21st. We scheduled the delivery and the day came and went and guess what! No couch and no phone call rescheduling it. When we finally got someone on the phone, once again they couldn't explain where the couch was and why it wasn't delivered and gave us yet another date of April 1st! We cancelled the order today and are getting a refund, we will go elsewhere. We have a 10 month old and no couch in a new house for almost 3 weeks! I give them NO stars. Purchased a sofa, loveseat and recliner a few months ago. The sofa's middle seat that does not recline is broken and sunk in. We have been calling for almost a month now. Sent pictures as we were asked which I don't know what that has accomplished because no one has returned our numerous calls. Just like other reviews when you call you are on hold for an extremely long time and no one can get you any satisfaction. I will now be calling Wells Fargo whom I financed the furniture with and demand for my money to be taken back from Ashley furniture until I have this issue resolved read more

Furniture shopping is usually followed by a lot of walking, trying and feeling overwhelmed by all the choices, until my husband and I came to this store. One of the associates there Kyle C was nothing but welcoming and accommodating. He let me explain was I was looking for and he did everything he could to help us get the best we could!
