Visited this store on a quiet day. There is a sales person by name Dina who was very arrogant, rude and insulting to the point of being obnoxious. Upon enquiring about price of a side table she acted was selling Lamborghinis and said she doesn't tell us approximate prices but only interested in design aspects. What a wierd argument. Anyway she has difficulty speaking English, was shouting loudly for no good reason and tried to insult my wife and me multi times just for asking the price of certain items. Too bad for the store manager, Dina's attitude costed them a few thousands worth of business that we gladly took it to nearby competitors. I'll preface this by saying I have had no issue with this store specifically or its staff, but I will never buy from this or any Ashley Furniture again as they refuse to stand behind their own products. TL;DR: Buyer beware - Ashley does not consider the internal trampoline support in my 2 year old couch (which is only used by myself and has not suffered from excessive or abusive use) to be a "part" that is covered under the warranty and is refusing to cover a repair. Full story: I bought my couch in the summer of 2018. By the summer of 2020 it was clear there was something awry with the internal support. My couch was out of the one year total warranty but still within the five year warranty on parts, so I tried to call the customer service number on my invoice. That number didn't work at all. I called the store and was given an entirely different number. This set off seven months of back and forth with Ashley's customer service team. Beyond general terrible service (there's no direct number for each CS person, even managers, and no email addresses, so you can only call and wait on hold for ages hoping someone will pick up; I was talked over, told I was rude when I got frustrated, and hung up on multiple times by multiple representatives), I was told a litany of conflicting stories from multiple people at both the base customer service level and those that were apparently management. Just some of the stories I was given: -The couch was discontinued so it was no longer covered by any warranty, -If it was a part failure and they still had the part(s) available they would be replaced, but first I needed to pay $150 to have a service person to come out and inspect the couch to determine if it was a warranty fix. That cost was not refundable even if there was nothing that they could do. -That if it was a part failure and they no longer had the part to fix the couch, they would give me a gift card for a prorated amount of the value of the broken part. I finally gave in and scheduled the service call after they agreed to reduce the cost by 50% (FYI: to schedule a service you need to call the customer service team to process the request, then go to the store you bought the item from because the store can't take payment over the phone, then call the customer service number back to confirm you paid, and then they'll have some random third party repair company contact you to actually schedule the appointment). The actual appointment was less than 10 minutes. The serviceman took the cushions off, pressed on the fabric underneath, took some pictures and left. I was told it would be 3-5 days before I heard any results. After almost 2 weeks of repeatedly trying to get a response I was first told that someone had already called me (false, the rep essentially told me I was lying when I said no one had contacted me) and that it was determined to be user caused damage and Ashley wouldn't cover any repairs. Later I was told that the damage was the trampoline support which was not considered a "part" under the warranty and that's why the repairs were not being covered. I'll say that again: The internal trampoline support on a couch is not considered a "part" per Ashley Furniture's warranty. Also, despite repeated requests, they would not release the report from the service center to me so I could review it. I'll say that again: Ashley would not give me a copy of the report of the service I paid for. I tried to reach out to the corporate office and was just bounced back to the same customer service team I'd been dealing with for months so now I'm stuck with a 2 1/2 year old couch that I need to either replace of spend more money on to get it repaired, all because Ashley won't stand behind their own products. About the only good thing was that they eventually refunded me the cost of the service call. Even at half of what I went through (despite the length of this review I haven't even covered everything) I would easily have considered this to be the worst customer service experience of my life. This is in regards to the Ashley's Furniture store in North Brunswick, NJ. We purchased 2 bedroom sets including the beds, side tables, dresser mirror, drawer chest, and 2 sets of lamps worth $3265.99/-. No bargains, no haggles. They were delivered to my house on the date promised (the delivery guy attitude is an all different issue). Regarding the 2 sets of lamps, I was asked to wait as they did not have those 2 sets of lamps onsite, so they promised me they will order it in store in a weeks' time and I can come pick it up. No calls, no emails no status of the lamps. When I call they say they have not come to the warehouse and will call me once they come to the store. I call up again after a week, same story. Then finally I get a call that one set of lamp has arrived and will have to wait for a week more. I said I will pick both up when they arrive. No contact till 2 weeks. I called again the rep said that no lamps have arrived yet from the warehouse. (Earlier the rep said there is one set, now there are none). Finally I told them I will give them one week and if they cannot deliver then please take it out of the total bill and finish it. I tweeted @Ashleyhomestore and voila, I get a call from the store that both the lamps are here and you can pick it up whenever. So 3rd may I pick up both the sets and I sign the paper and leave. (It's almost a month and half before I received my lamps). So finally last week I decided to open the boxes and set it up. So I open the first set and it turns out one of the lamps is damaged. The shade is damaged, and the bulb holder is broken. The lamp works but the bulb holder is broken. So I call all the store they said call our client relations. I called the client relations and they said it's a store issue not ours call the store. I call the store and they say the client relations handle it and not us. So I called the client relations again and a rep called JARED answered and took my info and told me I will take care of the issue. He said I will email you so please attach the pictures for proof and expect a call from me after 10am the next day. I wait for the email. No email whatsoever. So I called again the next day and some girl this time said we don't handle that and to call the store. I told her again the store said they do not handle this matter and should call you. So the rep said I will call the store right now and tell them that they, the client relations do not handle this and it's theirs stores responsibility and she HUNGUP. I called back again and guess what, Mr. Jared answers, no hello, no welcome to Ashley's etc. nothing. He knew exactly who I was before I could even say anything. So I said we spoke yesterday what happened to your email. He says that it's an accessory and we do not do any repair or exchanges or in short we cannot do anything for you and I have to call the store. So I call up the store and this lady I don't know her name, asked me did you sign the paper before you picked up the lamps? I said yes. So she said you should have read the paper before signing; it clearly says that "check your merchandise before leaving the store". Once you step out of our store we cannot do anything about it. SERIOUSLY? She said it's your responsibility to check before leaving and we cannot do anything about it. She said if you would have called them immediately then MAYBE they MAY have done something. She also added that just as every company have a customer/client service dept even we have one so call them. I told her but the rep Jared said he will take care of it but cannot now because he realized it's an accessory. She said talk to his manager if you have an issue with him not here, here we do not take care of all this. I understand that everyone is busy here. When I get time I will open the box and set it up. I have a job, and family and we just recently moved to a new township. It takes time to settle down with a new area, new life, new school, and new schedule. Don't expect me to just go and open a box and call them. It was a trust thing. I don't have time to read thru the disclaimer and sign. You gave a word I took it, I pay, you deliver and if something is wrong then please respect and honor your customer, your commitment and take care of the issue. I mean do they not stand by their brand? Their commitment towards their customers? I paid close to $3,500/- I don't have time to argue over a $100 lamp. This is not a 3rd world country, where you can cheat your customers and get away with it. read more

Don't go here at all. My family and I ordered a couch and bed frame in august. It's December and all we have is an ottoman. Their first delivery to us was a broken bed and an ottoman, no couch. Then two weeks later the bed frame was delivered and assembled, but still no couch. We were told the couch was in stock at the store, and tried contacting them multiple times and they never picked up the phone for almost a month. When they finally answered the phone we were told another two weeks and we will get the couch. that was in the end of september. With everything going on with delivery and product shortage we understand some of it is not in control of the store. The reason we got the couch to begin with is because we were told it was in stock by the store manager. so he lied just to get a sale. Then they have been unprofessional, and have been lying ever since we walked in the store. If they would have been honest and said the couch wasn't in stock when we were in store, we would have picked another one. Every time we call, and lucky enough for them to answer, they continue telling us two weeks. It's been three months. They are extremely unprofessional, and just want your money. They keep telling us different numbers to call, just bouncing us around. Seriously do not go to this store. Unprofessional and just want your money like I said earlier. Sorry to say, I felt like I was played by the Store Manager and his behavior made sure I was out of the store within 5 minutes of talking with him. I asked for the final price so I can discuss with my wife and he gave me so much attitude and treated me I was nothing. I am shopping for a Sofa recliner and I will shop around to get the best price and the product. Just like anyone else. I will report him to the Ashley Customer Service as he is the leader of the store and he is creating bad environment for rest of the employees. I was planning to spend ~$1500 for the sofa.. OH well.. If it weren't for my salesman C.J. and the manager Meesha, I would have rated this place a 1. I first stopped in for a quick look on the sales this store had going on. C.J. greeted me with a warm welcome and made me feel like I was an actual customer right away. I was wearing a tshirt with paint all over it, my hair a disaster and exhausted from doing work on the house all day. C.J. took his time and answered every one of my questions, as if I would buy something right away. He spent time with me, didn't pressure me but made sure I felt comfortable with my questions on pricing and deals, etc. Not once did he seem annoyed by all of my questions. After all the time he spent, I told him I wanted to see what Bobs and Raymour and Flanigan had as well. Everyone was having a sale for Columbus Day. So, I left, went to Bobs and Raoymour was closing. So, I actually came back to the store because of how I felt comfortable with the first impression. As soon as I walked in, C.J. was there to greet me. He was busy but still made sure he greeted me from a distance. He went back to what he was doing as I walked around and made my final decisions. He finished up and came right back to help me. He took his time with me even though it was as they were closing. I felt bad coming back 30 minutes before closing but I wasnt able to return again tomorrow due to my two jobs. So he followed me through the store, made sure he answered my million questions, gave me pricing, split things up, bundled different furniture with different pricing and made me feel like my money was being spent in the right place. It was after closing time but he still helped me like it was opening time which I genuinely appreciated as a customer. Not once did I ever feel like he wanted to go home and rush me out of there. As C.J. was helping me shortly after closing time, I was the last customer. The desk ladies were being VERY rude across the store to C.J as he was trying to finalize my transaction. They were making loud, obnoxious comments yelling ,"C.J. your invoice is not done yet", "C.J. there are no comments on your invoice yet." He ignored their degrading comments and continued to do his job with entering in everything I purchased accurately as well as going over my order to make sure it was correct. He said ,"I want to make sure this is done correctly, so I apologize for the comments." It made me feel very uncomfortable and pressured when the desk ladies were degrading C.J. I kept apologizing to C.J. for putting him in that situation due to my questions and figuring out my budget and making him stay later. I apologized to all the desk ladies as well, since I was the one holding everyone up, not C.J. He finished my transaction and brought me over to Meesha who also apologized to me for the desk ladies actions since they were sent home. She was fantastic and took her time as well to go over everything. It was about an hour after closing but she still took very good care of me. I appreciated her time and professionalism as well. I did not appreciate the tension I felt walking over to the desk due to them wanting to leave and go home. It was pathetic and distasteful for a customer service desk. read more

Great service and knowledgeable staff. I came into the store looking for a mattress after leaving another furniture store feeling frustrated. Mo Ziq, my sales rep, provided so much information not only on the different types of mattresses, but also on how they support your body/back when you sleep, etc. I ended up purchasing a Tempur-Pedic mattress based on this experience. I had the worst experience! I was set to move into a new place on May 28th.. I placed my order on May 7th with a delivery date of May 28th. perfect! I get a call 2 days before saying all of the parts weren't in yet so they had to reschedule for June 1st. Ok, no problem. I make arrangements at work to leave early so I can be home in time for the new delivery date.. I get another call a few days later saying that we need to push it back to June 8th. Ok, now I'm beyond frustrated. I call and they say that they are going to give me some money back on the delivery charge for the hassle. I have yet to receive it in my account or a phone call regarding the refund. Fast forward to today.. I got my bed and they came at a decent time but the kicker was, the delivery men used my shoe that was sitting next to the door as a door stop. I have been getting deliveries the past 2 weeks at my new place and most delivery men go outside to get a large rock or use something from the truck. I was just speechless! Im shopping for a couch and had purchased a dining room set a number of years ago at ashley that i have been super happy with so thought id check out Ashley. Mary gets a special shout out. She was informative, had a sense of humor which i appreciated since i dragged my husband with me and lastly i did not feel pressured which i am glad about since i dont like a hard sell. I found a couch i love there but i am a comparison shopper so im still looking around. Ashley has really great styles that look like can be out of a designer magazine. I went to Ashley HomeStore in search of some ideas for a guest bedroom. I was greeted by Michael Tierney who gave me the latest sales flyer, asked what I was looking for and suggested how I navigate the store. He said he would catch up with me after I had some time to look around. Michael was helpful when I asked about several pieces and whether items could be purchased separately. He made suggestions but there was never any pressure. And yes, I did find a bed and nightstands that I really liked-and purchased. Michael made the experience fun!! read more

If I could give them NO Star that would be suitable for this place!!!!!! We should've learned our lesson from last time we ordered from them. We ordered a dining room set and we were assured (100%) it would be delivered on time and manager even was involved. We were told it would be here today a Saturday and now, we call and they tell us it's not scheduled until the 19th which is a Wednesday! This place is a joke! I bought a dining table set with 4 chairs which was a floor sample. After Kennys team delivered the furniture I noticed that the side of the dining table was cracked. I called the store who told me that all sales are final and they cant do anything and I should call Kenny direclty. I called Kenny and he basically told me that there is nothing they can do. I understand that I bought a floor sample and that all sales are final however I would not have spend 700 dollars on a table that was cracked. Another complaint about delivery. First, the salesperson told me that there were no worries about getting a delivery after 5PM during the week...first lie. When I got a call from the delivery company they said that they give 4 hour windows that must include before 5PM. So we rescheduled for a Saturday...4 hour window goes by and no furniture. I call and they said that they are on their way....2nd lie. Hour later, no furniture, and they said once again that they should be there in 15 minutes....3rd lie. I try to cancel and they said that they would have to charge me a fee...I went crazy on the customer service staff until they gave in. Now I am rescheduled for today and the 4 hour window is almost up, and still no furniture...I guess it is Raymour and Flanigan for me in the future. read more

Absolutely awful experience with Ashley Furniture customer service. Sofa arrived damaged. Good luck trying to get someone on the phone to assist you. Most of my phone calls were disconnected after waiting 15-20 minutes for someone to answer. Forget the email system because you never get a response. Now I am trying to make arrangements for a technician to come out to repair the sofa and every number that I call, I either get no answer or I get referred to another number. Apparently Ashley changed owners and that is the excuse that I am getting for the lack of assistance. I've recently bought a brand new bed set here along with a new mattress. Slept on the mattress for a week but didn't really dig it. Went back to ask a few questions and a lot of back and forth ensued. Fortunately, I've found the right guy to talk to and he's Michael Tierney. He's one of the managers who's there most days. Mike has the right attitude for the job, he patiently listens to my frustrating situation and offer me suggestions plus solutions. What's more impressive which can sounds very basic is that the guy actually follows up on his work. Something that's so common but same time lacking in everyday life. Bought a 2 piece sofa at the beginning of March. They said one part of it was on back order so the soonest they could deliver was beginning of April, we wanted to pick it up from the store ourselves but they pushed us for letting them deliver it and charge $100. We found it for cheaper online and went to price match and they wouldn't meet us at the exact price (so technically not a price match). They then told us that BOTH parts are on back order so they have to push delivery back to the end of April but then they changed their minds and said only one part was on back order and they will definitely get it by the end of April. We asked for more money off for inconvenience and they only agreed because we threatened to cancel. We called today to check the status and they said it's now set to deliver in MAY. Absolutely horrible experience. First their prices are way to high. I found things as much as 40% cheaper. they will price match. So I went with them for convenience. Long story short, they never deliver on time. 4 changes in delivery time, i picked up a product that was defective. Customer service was of little use. They reordered tried to make me happy with a week and change for a new one. til I get a call that they dont have it available and it could be weeks before it is available. Then I call to complain and suddenly they have it and can be delivered this week. Just as long as i keep moving my life around their schedule. If something is wrong with the quality of your furniture and it breaks or begins to fall apart THERE ARE NO EXCHANGES allowed expect in "extreme or exceptional cases." The customer device answers their phones but they WILL NOT follow up with you if you have a claim. They need to ship "parts" to your home if your bed is "not holding up right" and then have a tech make a separate visit. It's highly inconvenient and I regret having bought my king sized bed there. The base began falling apart two weeks later. 1.5 months later, I still have not resolved the problem with Ashley. read more

This was a horrible experience. The furniture quality is fine but customer service and delivery is unacceptable. It took over 2 months to get a couch delivered. They rescheduled delivery 3 times. The first because the manufacturer didn't have everything ready and they called 2 days before expected delivery. Second time same thing. The final delay was because they inadvertently changed our delivery day without speaking to us. Then we needed to return a piece and scheduled pick up and when we didn't get contacted I had to call the store - they had scheduled for almost a week later than we had agreed to when I was in person at the store a week before to schedule the pick up. I will not purchase from this store again. I am cancelling another order we had pending because it is way too much hassle. read more

As others have said, the delivery is awful. 7 week delay. Then they delivered the chair without the couch, without letting us know they were coming separately. Several days later the couch arrived at 9:30pm - after we were told we'd be "first off the truck" at 2pm. I called to complain and was offered a refund of $150. It has been two months. I have called every two weeks, and there is always an apology and a promise that the check will be in the mail by Friday. The furniture itself is fine - low budget, but it looks fine. My husband and I have shopped at Ashley's several times. No matter what we've looked at, we have always been told that, because we are great customers, the salesman or manager would take something off of the original price. The amount varied, depending on how much we were going to spend. It just seemed odd and made us feel that everything was way overpriced. We bought a bedroom set. I have to say that the quality of that seems good, however it's in a guest room that's rarely used. Would it hold up to daily use? I'm not sure. Then another time, we bought a tv/ vcr, cable box cabinet. This piece is beautiful and we have never had a problem with it. We bought a large desk set. The finish on the top started to come off ; had cracks on it within the first year. I never called them because the warranty was up. I have to say that I've never ever had the finish come off of one other wooden table I've bought anyplace else. The worst two problems happened in purchases in the past 2 years. We bought a desk chair for my husband's home office. After about 4-6 months, as he was attempting to raise the seat, it slipped down. After that, he was never able to raise it again. My husband never got to call the store. He simply wound up tossing it out. Maybe they would have repaired it if he had called. That was his fault. But why did it break in less than a year? We than bought a family room sectional with tables that were metal and glass and even an area rug. It was a great buy. There haven't been problems yet. The next purchase was a recliner. My husband bought it based on comfort. After 6 months, the mechanism stopped working . After many many calls , and months passing, we finally got a service man to come to the house. He claimed to have fixed the problem. Within a few days the same thing happened. My husband called and called. Finally he was told it was out of warranty. We tossed it out. My advice would be to beware of anything mechanical. If purchasing anything made of wood , be sure that the warranty is more than a year. Perhaps get a protection plan. read more

So upset with Ashley's! Went in and bought 2 twin bed, a dresser, and 2 sets of mattresses. All for pick up and in stock, now get a phone call that part of the bed is not in stock and wont be available until March 17th. Sooooo are my children supposed to sleep on mattresses even thought we spent $1200 on beds for them. Horrible customer service, told us we could go somewhere else if we weren't happy. If you want to save yourself stress and heartache, shop somewhere else. Very disappointing. read more

Would charge $150 for delivery, Ive corrected it but they still couldn't accept it so they would try to put extra charges in the total which I end up correcting but got an awful sarcastic mockery from their group of sales rep. There was guy already assisting us he had to be with another person but will be coming back for us and we were ok wth then this old guy, a little heavy limping, with beard said he is the floor manager and will help us but he gave us a hard time like he accused us that were lying as I was showing him the price thats online. The guy in the store who sold me the mattress and box spring was cool. Nice guy actually. However, I had the bed delivered today, and the men who delivered the bed were careless. First of all they were unfriendly. Secondly, they leaned the box spring against stuff in the lobby which could have knocked things over. It's my first day in the new place, so not cool. Also, they didn't set up the bed, and left the wrapping on the bed. They leaned it against the wall and hardly had the patience to let me decide where I wanted the damn bed. They practically ran with the stuff in the hallway which could have injured another tenant or broken something. I understand that they probably have a very hard job with delivery after delivery to make. Having said that, I had men yesterday who moved heavy furniture out of my apartment in NYC. They were friendly and careful, so no excuses for this crap. read more

The customer service shown by Ashley Furniture in North Brunswick, NJ is the worst I've seen in my life. They also own different locations in the area. I had my dining room set delivered on May 26, 2016. I was't home for the delivery, but as soon as I got home and looked over the furniture I noticed scratches and wood broken on the table along with 4 wobbly chairs. I called customer service right away and they advised me to send an email with pictures as I did that day as well. The next day I had received a phone call explaining a new leg was ordered and a service technician would look over the chairs when they came to my house. From May 27 to June 22 I had over 10 phone calls to Ashley Furniture in North Brunswick to see the status of everything and also find out why I paid for warranties on different furniture which that service doesn't cover. Over 7 phone calls alone to your manager Pheebe. When Pheebe finally called me back June 22, after I called 3 times that day she told me she didn't need to call me back and that was the first time she had got my message. She wouldn't give me any names to any board members or even her manager's name. I told her I needed to speak to someone highly up and she suggested if I wanted to get in touch the only way would be through this email address. I actually find it quite funny that your manager couldn't give me her direct work email or direct way to contact her but Joe in guest relations had no problem giving me his extension. Bottom Line Is Pheebe finally put in a new order for a table and 4 legs to be delivered June 30, 2016. I have contacted Verizon for all my phone call records to be printed since I find it very strange 5 different customer service reps left messages on her desk and she got none. I believe your lines are recorded as well so that should be looked into. I honestly don't know how this franchise is still in business by the way your customer service is. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT ANY OF THESE FRANCHISE LOCATIONS EVER AGAIN. Obviously this franchise doesn't care about keeping customers. I contacted Ashley Corporation and let them know everything that happened and I have no problem putting it out on social media for people to see. I paid for a dining room set and maybe this thursday, June 30 I will get the chance to use it. 5 weeks for something to come in right with no scratches or wood missing is Totally Unacceptable. I purchased a dining room table and chairs. I noticed three issues: one chair wobbled; another had a problem with the wood stain near the edge; and the table had a round stain the size of a quarter that did not match the rest of the wood. The delivery men took back the two chairs and ordered me two new chairs and a brand new table was delivered in place of the original once I spoke with customer service. While dealing with the issue initially, I spoke with several employees in customer service -- one was friendlier than the next! What could have turned into a stressful experience was just the opposite. My issues were promptly addressed and everyone was so nice. If interested in new furniture for your home, ask for my salesman, Mike T. I would definitely work with him again. What a nice guy! I was originally happy with my furniture purchase...Only thing I didn't like is when I went home and looked up the items online so I can see them again, I noticed they were the same price I just paid in the store. But in the store, they had negotiated with me for quite a while making it seem like I was getting a really good deal. I ended up paying the same in store that it was online but originally they had quoted me higher than that. ( a couple hundred more). All in all, I am still satisfied with my purchase but I probably won't go back to the store because I feel like they were dishonest with the way they negotiated my price. read more

I bought a table and chairs but when they were delivered there was water damage to the table and one of the chairs was dented. Right off the bat I was being given excuses. Horrible delivery experience! Waited basically all day for my new bedroom furniture to arrive only to find out that they only loaded the mattress onto the truck and not the actually furniture. Of course after waiting over 30 minutes on hold no one had a logical answer as why this had happened. Now I have take another day off from work and wait one more week to resolve some morons idiotic mistake! I guess I'll just sleep on the floor on my new mattress for the next week, thanks a lot Ashley! read more
