The prices in store are astronomically higher than online and when you try and get them to price match, they act as if you're taking money out of their own pockets. I had to put up a fight with their customer service desk because they were telling me they couldn't honor the pricing cause it was "less than the furniture costs to make." Yeaaaah.... Okay. Then I'll cancel my order and place it online instead. They state that their customer service is better than if you were to place an order online and that's far from the truth. You can't even get through to the direct store via phone and no one responds to emails so I'm dealing with the same customer service their website provides unless I go in store and deal with the sales reps that have an attitude. We bought a table from Ashley Furniture on a Monday. At first, we ordered the doorstep delivery service where they would drop off the furniture and we would assemble it. We changed our minds and paid the difference between that service and the threshold service which includes set up. The set up was scheduled for Tuesday and when the delivery guys came, they just dropped it off and told us that we only paid for the delivery drop off. Well, we had to call the store to have the delivery changed and they couldn't even find our payment for the threshold delivery service. So the threshold delivery service got scheduled for a Friday. The delivery guy shows up and goes, "Oh, you already have a table?" They didn't relay the message that we already had one! And when I called and expressed my concerns to the store manager they offered us a measly $20 compensation. Would not recommend anyone buys from Ashley Furniture. read more

Like so many others, my experience with Ashley has been less than stellar. I ordered a dining set on line and paid $119 for "premium in home delivery." Turns out this was for 1 of my 6 items. They were here for all of 5 minutes. The rest is coming via UPS that I have to put together myself. Had I known this I would not have paid $119! My other 5 items should have been delivered days ago, yet here I am with only a table. They were very quick to charge me yet can't seem to get me the items I have paid for. When I ask where my items are, their response is that they don't know. Wow, that is really helpful. I have spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this. Multiple transfers, calls disconnected. Shareen, a Supervisor was supposed to return my call one day later. She did not, so I called again. Another hour on the phone for them to tell me she should not have told me she would call me back in 1 day, but rather 3 days. Another hour wasted. I purchased a dining room table and other furniture when they reopened after being closed due to COVID 19. They would not allow pick up so it cost me $300 for it to be delivered and I agreed to that. They had a promotion going according to Angelina who helped me and said the I would get rebate checks in the mail for the items I purchased and never got them. I've tried calling but they do not answer their phone so you get routed out is state to a rep that cannot help you. My mother and I placed a HUGE order and everything was arriving damaged and not how it looked in person when I placed the order. I didn't sign for the damaged stuff and the delivery men their self said that Ashley Furniture doesn't care about the customers all they care about is making money. Hence the poor delivery service and conditions of shipment. The second time they delivered AGAIN damaged and they said a tech would come and fix it if not another probably damaged items would get delivered. My experience with Ashley was at first okay, but then went down hill. I purchased the 14 piece living room set along with "Premium Delivery" . They delivered it, but refused to do any assembly. I called the store and after being on hold for 37 minutes the lady finally told me that someone would be at my house within 30 minutes to assemble the furniture. That did not happen. I received a text stating they would be back the next day. Well, I cannot take another day off work for this. Tried to contact customer service again and no response. Bought a new bunk bed for my kiddo. The installers came out took 4 of them 3 hours to build a bunk bed. over tighten a bunch of screwed causing the wood to crack. Called to complain they said they would send someone out to look at it. took over a month to get someone out to look at it say how dumb their installers are and how they mixed up a bunch of boards and didnt fully attach the top rail correctly (major safety issue for KIDS). The guy that checked it out said they would be in contact to setup a time for a full replacement bed. waited 4 weeks no call. we called got an automated response saying we were already setup for the July 1st. New installers show up take down the old bed after we point out the mess ups from the last installers pull the new one out of the box to find that there is broken part. They call the warehouse, then the warehouse randomly calls us saying we hear you need a tech onsite. we are like no you have installers here. They say it will take 4 to 6 weeks to get the 2 boards. we say no we would like a refund, we are told the warehouse cant touch money and to call the store. sit on hold for over 45 minute to no one answering. Get another call from the warehouse saying they have a bunch of new beds in stuck and they can have it to us next week. BUT they cant set a time until they get the second broken one back and wait 48 hours. WTF why cant you give us at time your installers have the product. ask for a manager, put on hold for 20 minutes to them coming back and saying the manager is in a meeting and they want our info to call us back. still no call back will be going in to the store to demand a full refund I will go to IKEA its the same shitty wood. read more

I am not going to talk about the exact issue I am referring to as I'd rather stay anonymous in this situation but I would definitely advise that, "buyer beware," of this place. In addition, their website prices the exact same items for much less and they justify it by saying that you don't get the service online you get from a store. Very long story. My wife ordered a bedroom set and it took literally forever to finally get it. This was after having to go i to the store where we thought all was handled. While at the store they inform us that the company who sells is totally a different entity from corporate. After finally getting a hold of corporate through the manager of the store my wife is treated so poorly on the phone that I took over where I was equally treated poorly. The manager (who was standing right by) apologized and gave a discount for the issue. Keep in mind my wife was very pregnant at the time and didn't need this stress. We had to order through the store again. Long time later we finally get the furniture but it wasn't what we ordered. Totally different model. I go back to the store and get a totally different manager who passed me off to another employee. After explaining the situation she said she could fix the problem but it would take more time. I wait an extra day from the time they tell me and call corporate looking to just get a date to get the wrong furniture and a refund. An order for bother was put in. 3 weeks later we are back on the phone with corporate. My wife has been on hold 20 minutes now. All in all, the furniture isn't even that nice to go through this much trouble. Every time we have called we have been on hold at a minimum 20-30 minutes, every time! The calls always end with "...it'll take a couple weeks to process and go to higher corporate" or to some effect. Wow. I have to hand it to Ashley Furniture. It takes real effort to make a situation worse, but they somehow managed to do so. After being contacted by corporate customer service I talked to I don't know how many people, including my salesperson and James at corporate customer service. Apparently my salesperson also talked to her manager at the store. Everyone I've talked to has been very apologetic and assured me that they would make this right and get my order delivered. For the last 2 days I've been told that they want to deliver my order tomorrow. I have told everyone that I talked to that I can only take a delivery tomorrow after 3:00pm due to work commitments and everyone has assured me that they would make note of that and they would get it right. Guess what? To say they failed would be a huge understatement. They make the guys at Enron look like business geniuses. All day today I have received notifications that my order would be delivered tomorrow between 8am and 12pm. I have again, all day, told multiple people that was not going to work. And yet I still got a call at 4:15pm wanting to confirm my delivery for tomorrow morning. Now, I have to take some responsibility here. I'm responsible for trusting these guys again and hoping that they could actually do what they promised. So that's on my. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I have, for real cancelled my entire order and told them that I don't want to talk to anyone anymore. Here's a piece of advice for Ashley. Everyone I've talked to needs to go back to college and take Communications 101 because your people do not know how to communicate properly. Everyone has promised to keep me updated. NOT. Terrible Terrible EXPERIENCE, communication and customer service. Ordered a couch, only half came on my delivery day (I took a full day off work for my 9:30-1:30 pm slot). The delivery guys said my recliners that go with my couch are on back order...wait what?? No one told me that. I have no paperwork indicating that was the case or communication from Ashley. I call the Customer Service number and the women assured me that my 2 recliners would be there by 1:30 pm. I asked her 4 times...ARE YOU SURE?! Yes, I am. Ok great! Blood pressure down. It's 1:30 and no recliners. I call customer service again. Wait on hold for 35 min only to be told, have to call the store and the recliners are going back to the warehouse which one was on the truck and the other wasn't. And I have to wait 48 hours in order to reschedule my delivery. WTF? So I have to take off another day of work, so that I can do another day of a delivery? I expect to be compensated. Well ma'am you have to speak with the store. Fine, connect me. The store guy I spoke with gave me false hope that I would even get my couch that Saturday but nope someone already took the spot. I can deliver on Thursday which is an entire week. So what am I supposed to do with a half of a couch? Are my guests are coming this weekend supposed to sit on the floor? I worked mostly with the manager and got exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted to pay (actually less than I wanted to pay). I had on my purchase list a new desk with filing cabinet and a new mattress. I went in to browse like I have in many furniture stores. This time however I purchased both items on my list. The service is great in store but delivery from them has always been a nightmare. The delivery came 1.5 hours early and said they will not wait for us past 15 min.... I mention they were early and they gave us a time frame to be their. They were not able to be their on the time they said and then reschedule for today from 3-7, called at 5 and they said we were never on there schedule from the delivery people, my advise for Ashley's is to hire a delivery company that is professional and not to waste peoples time as most people live a day to day bases and can't afford to miss work. If you are in need of some new furniture, Ashley Furniture HomeStore is absolutely top notch when it comes to accepting your money. The part where they provide you with your purchased items however, is a skill they have not developed. I purchased a couch at the beginning of December and was told the delivery would happen as early as Christmas time, but no later than mid January. I have contacted Ashley more than 10 times and each time I am either ignored, told my item has been delayed an additional week, or they schedule me for a phony delivery date that they will cancel the day before. This store is nearly impossible to reach via phone, and the Ashley customer service line is useless. I highly recommend Ashley if you have money you want to give away for free. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH ASHLEY HOME FURNITURE!!! I WILL NEVER EVER SHOP HERE AGAIN AND I SUGGEST YOU DON'T EITHER! I bought 2 couches, a loveseat, a dining room set, and an occasional table set(coffee table set). EVERY SINGLE ITEM EXCEPT 1 couch. How is it that everything is made poorly or damaged. The staff is very nice and says they are going to fix everything or make it right but it has been months and nothing has been taken care of. I was brought a replacement kitchen table and it was even damaged. I had to ask a delivery driver of one item to get out of my house multiple times he was extremely rude and damaged the table even worse. I had another delivery driver damage my carpet my walls and a couple pictures that were on the wall. I am still in the process of at least getting some of my money back because I do not want any more of these people in my home. It is obvious that I will continue to get damaged furniture even if it is replaced, so I want nothing more from this business. Five years ago I shopped with them and I got great furniture. I had no complaints whatsoever. I was told that I would have a delivery in 12 days from my original order 12 days ! 2. When the 12 day came the delivery service came early to my house I had to leave work early to meet them or they would leave with out delivery remember I have been waiting 12 days for this with no furniture and let me tell you I was the last stop so the delivery company could have totally waited for me to get there 3. They offered me a $200.00 gift card that they were going to mail to me cause I wasn't going to go back into the store so I said sure thanks . ( never got it ) still waiting for it it has been almost a month and still haven't gotten it. 5. The next week Again they were early to my house not in the time frame I was expecting and I had to make arrangements to have my children picked up from school by someone else they called me and told me they forgot a piece and would have to come back after they had already called me and told me they were 10 mins away so they went back to where ever they get the stuff from and just didn't come back so I checked on line to see where they were at and it said it was undeliverable so I called the store again and at this point I am pissed beyond pissed they told me the same exact thing and I said why didn't you take it off the truck in the first place and they claimed they didn't have that order to take it off the truck and put it on a smaller truck that they would have to come back another day the following week in a Tuesday morning well who in there right mind is available on a Tuesday morning unless your retired well I am not ! So I told them they needed to work around me and make this right so they came on a Tuesday and 22 days later !!!!! 22 days later I got furniture and still no $200.00 gift card still waiting they owe to more then a 200.00 gift card for all of this crap they put me through. Ok, first of all, let me just say the service in the store while making a purchase was just fine. I had no issues with it whatsoever. Alright, now for the rest. I waited to post this review because I don't like bad mouthing a business based on a single bad experience, but now days have passed, and I still get annoyed, so here goes. I went in to buy a couch in late january on MLK weekend (Sunday the 26th I think(?)) to have in time for the Super Bowl, to host some people. Like I said, the purchasing part was fine. The people at the store even worked with me and set up a delivery date for 1/30, which was perfect. So, I set up the text alerts for the delivery and all that and got it all set up. In the days following I got the updates like you're supposed to - "Confirmation of delivery date" type things and all that. Cool. The delivery date was confirmed and the time of delivery was set for the time frame of 1215- 4pm. Which was really convenient, as I had an appointment that would take all morning. Fast forward to the day of delivery. I'm at my appointment at 930 in the morning or so and my phone is going off like crazy. Now, I'm in the middle of my thing and I can't answer it. I walk out at 12 and there's a voicemail from Ashley customer service. Apparently the delivery guys were at my house that morning trying to make the delivery. Well, since no one was home they left, and were now too far to turn around. I called the number back and the lady on the line basically told me that the delivery time was reassessed and it was found the delivery could be made at an earlier time, and so they tried to do it that way. Welllll I was never notified of any changes. Long story short for the call I got nowhere and decided to drive down to the store in the early afternoon. The manager seemed shocked, and told me to give him a couple of hours for the truck to get back, reinventory my couch, and work out a delivery time for the next day, and that he'd give me a call back. That call never came. The next day, I call customer service again, saying that I was told to expect a delivery, a call, *something*, and all that. They told me the earliest I could expect the couch was on February 4th, which was ridiculous. Again, I drove back to the store. A different manager again, seemed shocked this had all happened. She basically told me there was nothing she could do about the delivery date, but if I really, really wanted my couch, that I could go to the Lathrop warehouse and pick it up myself. Honestly, I should have just cancelled the order and gone elsewhere, but I had to work and needed the stupid thing by the time the game happened. So, my happy self rented a Uhaul, drove an hour and half to Lathrop, and got the thing myself. As far as any compensation goes, the second manager refunded me $350...but man. That just isn't worth the headache or hassle. Never again. Useless customer service hotlines and horrific delivery. read more

I understand that there is a requirement to wear a mask but your corporations needs to AT LEAST PROVIDE MASKS for customer. We were not greeted with a 'Hello' upon entry. Instead, we were scolded and instructed to go get a mask from 'Joannes Fabrics' then come back to shop... it's 100 degrees outside and you really expect my pregnant wife to hunt for a mask? I would give them zero stars if it was an option. We ordered a couch and were told it would be 4 to 6 week to come in. With all the COVID delays we were okay with it. 10 weeks later and no word. So I go into the store and explain the problem and the customer service lady doesn't apologize or look into what was the reason for the delay. Her only reply was," I can't help you because your ordered the couch from a different location." I told her all I want is a refund. She said I had to go to the Folsom store where I ordered the couch. I asked why would that be since you are a chain store? She got snotty and said I can't help you. I would never go to this store again. Unfortunately, I have had quite a nightmare experience with Ashley Furniture. THE GOOD: the actual store, the sales person we worked with, the furniture. THE BAD: EVERYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH DELIVERY. We spent $11,000 at Ashley. Multiple pieces of furniture were delivered DAMAGED. Sent them back. Came back damaged again, and they neglected to bring an item. Mind you, they changed the delivery window times on us 3 times in a 24-hour span and then showed up an hour outside of the final window they gave us. The third time they finally got it right. That was 3 days of delivery that should never have happened. They offer some sort of "red tag special" where they check the items to make sure they are perfect before putting them on the truck; laughable because that was delivery attempt #2 where items were severely damaged. One of the times the deliverers wouldn't even show us a nightstand because they admittedly damaged it in the truck!!! We asked for compensation for them hijacking 3 full days of ours and having to live without furniture for multiple weeks (keep in mind each delivery was at least a week after the previous!!) and they offered $200. I went in the store to collect and take my business elsewhere, to find out that customer service would call within 5 days nooooooope, its been 8 and no word. I asked my salesperson (she is fabulous, no complaints there) wth is going on, and she gave me the direct number to collect the $. Guess what?!?! Its a non working number. I am beyond frustrated. A beautiful store, excellent in-store service, and thats where it ends. We will never go back. Sad, because we still have 3/4 of the house left to furnish (and we are tempurpedic lovers) but hell of delivery and reimbursement is NOT worth it. read more

Beware of the shady sales practices of this store. My wife and I purchased a few pieces of furniture for our new home. The sales price seemed good and the salesperson seemed helpful. However, he did do something exceptionally shady that I chose to ignore, but, in hindsight, it was an omenous sign of things to come. When it came time to pay for our items, he slipped in a $600 furniture protection plan without first discussing it with us. It wasn't until my wife noticed the charge, and asked about it, that he explained it to us. Although unhappy with this tactic, we decided to keep the protection plan and we let it slide. The next day I made some measurements at our new home, and realized the couch and chairs would be too big for our space. I called the store to modify the order and remove the too-big items, but kept the table and chairs on the order. I was told that I had to come in and do this in person, which is incredibly inconvenient, especially when this stuff is all done over computers anyway. Nonetheless, I came in that day. All they did was make some modifications over the computer, which confirmed that there was no reason to make me come into the store to do this. At the store they said they couldn't refund my card right then and there. They would call in two days. I had them confirm, in-person, to me that the couch, chairs, and furniture protection plan were all removed. Five days later, and still no call about my refund. I then called the customer service to figure out what was going on. Customer service told me that the paperwork for the refund was not sent over by the store. I*still* wanted the table and chairs, but having lost all faith in this store, I asked customer service to confirm the remaining order, which was when I found out they did not remove the protection plan even after they confirmed, in store and in person, to me that they did. Fed up with the shady business practice, I cancelled my whole order, but still I am waiting for the transaction to be refunded to my card. Mind you, none of the items have even been delivered yet. If I could post NO stars I would. I bought office furniture and has been the worst nightmare with any furniture store I've ever felt with. My desk I bought on 9/4/2020 that was damaged still hasn't been replaced. I called to follow up and got disconnected 3 times with everyone I spoke to very rude and not helpful at all from Mea in the Corporate Customer Care Center to other 3 people I spoke to that took me almost 2 hours on the phone. THEN I bought a bookcase that was supposed to be delivered today with no one showing up, again called with being disconnected not 1 time not 2 times but 3 times and of course they never called me back. I will NEVER buy from them again. I took an entire day off of work for this. I'm heading to the actual store tomorrow I purchased these from and raising major HELL. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LET THIS COMPANY GO OUT OF BUSINESS. read more

Amazing customer service from Christopher Lindstrom!! Christopher is very knowledgeable; he was not pushy and always there to help answer questions we had. I've been in customer service for over the last 16 years and it's very difficult to find people who are hardworking and caring. It shouldn't just be about "the sale", it should also be about making a friend and building trust; it was nice to run into Christopher when looking for new furniture. I feel like 1 star is just to much for this place! I bought a table and chairs and they delivered it,with only 2 legs and said they had forgotten the legs at the warehouse and would be back that evening with them.6 o'clock came around and no legs so I call them and they had no idea what was going on.They said they would look into it and call me back the next morning and never called.I called them and they said the legs were not in the warehouse they would have to order me new ones and it would take 7 days to get them.Now mind you I had sold my old table the day before my new one got delivered.I was upset,but I said ok as they assured me it would take no more than the 7 days. After the 7 days I had heard nothing so I call them back AGAIN and the person tells me after looking up my account that nobody had placed an order for my legs,and it will take 7 to 10 days to process the order and then they will have a date for me!!!NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE! read more

Waited for our couch & Sofa for almost 6 weeks, today the delivery guys showed without calling us ahead, surprise surprise they only had the sofa, and said they don't know when the rest will come, then they said they will leave it outside for us, I told them that the manager assured us that they will carry it inside, but the guy wouldn't believe me. I was very disappointed with the customer service we received, we bought so many things from Ashly furniture, and that's not the way to treat customers. I would give them negative stars if I could.
