My experience with Ashley's Fredericksburg delivery team: - They lied to my wife about my couch being able to fit in the room. - They complained the whole time, saying the couch was too heavy. - They made almost no effort to have my wife understand what she was inspecting before they had her sign an acceptance form. - They hung up on me when I called them and refused to answer when I tried to call back. - I call to complain and the customer service people pretended to care at first and make no mention of my wife signing a form until I ask for documentation that a complaint was filed. Then Joe starts to get defensive and I knew I was right. They were just listening to me and planning to not file that complaint. - I get home to move the couch myself and the bottom frame was poorly assembled and scraped up my hardwood flooring. Extra parts that shouldn't have been there alongside fragments of wood wedged in between for some reason. - They send me a "CYA" form they essentially tricked my wife into signing to try to avoid being financially liable for their terrible service. -- Delivery is the worst I have ever seen. Took a week to arrange delivery (They ship from North Carolina for some reason) and when it happened the delivery men were complaining about how heavy the furniture was and made excuses. They also lied to my wife and said our new couch wouldn't fit in our living room despite the fact that the new couch was half the size of the couch that was sitting in the room for years. I called them to ask why they lied and they disconnected and refused to answer when I tried to call back. They were scam artists plain and simple and Ashley stood up for them. They promised to address my complaint but when I asked for written documentation to prove my complaint was filed Ashley started making excuses and backtracking. They defend lazy lying delivery men at the cost of the customers hard earned money. EDIT: I have done the impossible! I fit my couch into the room the delivery men assured my wife could not fit into the room. At great strain to my already injured back, I was able to move it into the room by myself. They said it wouldn't fit. My wife took them for their word because she assumed they were professionals who knew what they were doing. She was wrong. What's more, I have come to find the delivery crew (or whoever assembled the couch) were absolute morons. They included the extra parts into the bottom frame and did so poorly. Take a look at the photos. They had the extra parts - screws - protruding from the frame and when I went to push the couch it scraped up my hardwood flooring. Oh! But rest assured! The team of liars sent me a signed form immediately after I called to complain which shows my wife signed for the couch and didn't have complaints at the time nor did she see the crew damage our home. See, this was supposed to get me to say "aw shucks. My wife is happy with terrible service, being lied to and paying people for it. I am also okay with it!"No. These are con men who will prey on people not knowing they are full of crap and trusting they know what they are doing. They will shield themselves from the consequences of their amateur work by having them sign forms without giving a real effort to ensure the job is or was done right and then hide behind a form signed behind deception and lies. I ordered a set of sofa/love seat and dining table on 2/24/2020, So I was told by the sales ref. Juan from woodbridge that the items that we selected to but was available and will delivered to my house with FULL SERVICE. So The next day The drivery driver called"Emerson cabrera. he is really unprofessional, rude and arrogant. My delivery time frame from my email was 1pm-4pm. 3rd stop. He came in the area at 7:25 am. he was rushing and talked very rude to me . I understand that they have delivery but I don't I think Indeserved as customer to be talked rude and unprofesional. my sofa wasn't delivered, 4 dining chairs not level. EMERSON CABRERA delivered the furniture carelessly. i'm so dissapointed to his attitude and being unprofessional. RE:Claim ID: PM2052393 filed on July 15,2019.  I reached out to the Care2 team on September 25th following 2 denial letters for the aforementioned claim and I asked the representative on the line at the time the reasoning behind the claim being denied and it was stated cracked or peeled leather; and soiled leather. In actuality I accidentally ripped it with my knee scooter, I broke my foot and required a knee scooter to get around the house. I highly displeased with this entire "claim" process. Not only did I have to wait a month before a technician was assigned to my case, but we waited an additional hour and half outside of the already, unreasonable, 4 hour scheduled window of time. To add insult to injury, when the technician arrived he made comments like "did this just happened, are you all moving?", with smugness and condescending tones. I'm highly confused at the purpose behind a 5 year extended warranty? I did not ask for a total replacement of the product, I wanted the portion that was damaged by my knee scooter fixed, but instead I got nothing. This extended warranty has been a complete waste of $500 additional on top of the $2000 recliner couches that we purchased at Ashley Furniture. This really makes me question the quality of not only Ashley furniture's products, but additional the Montagefs warranties. Ashley furniture salespersons during the sell and purchasing process continuously pushes this warranty without the disclaimer that regardless of what your claim is they will not properly investigate your claim in a timely manner and based on the additional services that you are paying for will at least give you an alternative to assist you. Moving forward I will more than likely not purchase any more furniture from Ashley furniture and not recommend anyone who is purchasing Ashley Furniture to not waste the money on Ashley furniture or warranties through Montagefs. read more

Wow I cant believe I hadn't read these reviews before wasting my time here! I walked in today and was greeted warmly by an associate. We walked through the store and found two couches that seemed nice. I have to replace my current set because they've done their time 10ish years 4 moves! I had an amount I could spend and dimensions that needed to be met. Wasnt unreasonable. Online at about 4 different places the prices were lower, with free shipping! I asked for a final quote with delivery and warranty it came out to one price. When I asked how much the warranty was I was given a number and subtracting that number from the total was totally doable. I was ready to make the purchase! Then comes back the pricing was incorrect. Ok talk to the manager he did not want to budge on $50. For those $50 I went and bought literally the same set at VCF on a whim! I only walked into VCF because its next to target. ITS 99% THE EXACT SAME SET! Names are different but come on! I was well prepared to buy the Ashley set online for about $100 less. But they made it so easy to buy at VCF how could I not. What a shame. I feel sorry for the sales associate as she was 1 week into the job and was super sweet but ultimately her manager was not able to close the sale. Horrible, horrible experience. Purchased two chairs - once they take your payment then they have you sign the paperwork stating there are NO returns. I tried to cancel my order since it has been almost a week since I made the purchase and the items have not been delivered (apparently they failed to tell me that it wouldn't be delivered until the following week, I could have saved myself the delivery fee and picked them up from another store). I spoke with a sales supervisor who was a TOTAL JERK, he tried to cut me off on several occasions before I told him that if he is a supervisor then he needs to have customer service skills. I will NEVER shop with Ashley furniture again and I will let everyone I know this is a crooked, unprofessional company. Received a call from customer services, both ladies we're extremely nice and helpful, however when you are told you would be contacted within 24 hours and it's been a week later, that's unacceptable. I have reached our again, twice and customer service has not called me back. I still do not have my furniture and it's been 2 weeks since I placed my order. I wish I read reviews prior to making a purchase. I went into Ashley on March 23rd to buy a sectional sofa. I was told it would be delivered the week of April 16th. That week rolled around with NO phone call. I followed up with customer care where I was told it was on back order and would arrive the week of April 30th. Again, no phone call. I reached out again where I was told the sofa would be delivered to Woodbridge on the week of the 3rd (same week I was calling about). Long story short... do NOT rely on any delivery dates. I will NEVER purchase from Ashley furniture again. The is by far the WORST customer service experience I have ever experienced. On Black Friday, I purchased a sectional, a sofa, a recliner, and a chair and a half, totaling over $3k. After I paid, my salesman told me that my expected delivery date was 12/29/18. Um, what...? Keep in mind, I have just moved into my home and have minimal furniture for my family of 5. However, he told me that my furniture would likely be delivered before that date, since everyone was making purchases, the delivery date was skewed. It is now, 12/20/18 and I have not a single piece of furniture and my ESTIMATED delivery date is 1/9/19. I tried calling and cancelling my order, while they tell you that all sales are final, in their terms and conditions it states and you can cancel an order for a full refund if your delivery is not scheduled within the next 48 hours. Seeing has how my delivery was estimated for weeks away, I attempted to cancel my order. The lady became combative on the phone and then I was told that someone would call me back. I received no call back. I have been in tears multiple times over this whole ordeal. Their staff is insincere, unkind, and defensive. I received a call on Saturday, 12/15/18, saying that some of my furniture was going to be delivered to the store the following week and I should expect a call from the store to schedule a delivery. She stated that the only thing that was still on back order was the sofa. I called the Woodbridge store this morning, 12/20/18, to get a status and they are still telling me that nothing is in stock and my estimated delivery date of 1/9 has not changed. 7 weeks from the date of purchase. 7 weeks MAYBE is when I will be getting my furniture. I bought a tall table in Dec 2021. I was reluctnat to purchase the table because it's chairs were on backorder until March. We are now at the end of Mar and the chairs remain on backorder until May! So, for the past three months, I have been eating on my couch due to the lack of chairs and now they expect me to continue eating on my couch for two more months? If you value your sanity, DO NOT order furniture from this Ashley Furniture store. I wish there were a score lower than one-star! I ordered furniture in November 19th. I returned the following week to schedule a delivery for Dec 8th and paid the $39.99 fee. The warehouse called and said that all the pieces were not in the warehouse. At that time, I requested that all pieces be in the warehouse before I receive deliver. On Dec 11th, I retired to the store. The customer care rep said that the furniture will not arrive in the warehouse until Dec 25th with a delivery likely on either the 26th or 27th (pending availability). I spoke with the floor supervisor and requested, at that time, for the order to be cancelled. I stated that had I known, when signing the contract, that the order would be scheduled for delivery AFTER Christmas, I would have NEVER signed the contract. The floor supervisor said that the store cannot cancel merchandise and that I have to talk to the Distribution Center. I called the Distribution Center and they informed me that Store Managers have the authority to cancel orders. I call the store back and talk to the customer care rep. She said that she didn't know why the Distribution Center told me that because the store cannot cancel orders. She said that she could email corporate. On Dec 14th, I return to the store and talk to the manager. I explained the sequence of events and he referred me back to customer care so they could research the issue. He also came back to customer care after being paged by the rep. I was informed that Ashley Furniture expedited my request and was able to get the furniture in before Dec 25th. THAT was NOT what I requested them to do. I asked that they send and email to CANCEL the order. From their standpoint, the manager felt as if they did everything they were supposed to do. On the *printed* form, it said that delivery was scheduled for Dec 25th. On the *electronic* form that I signed, that information was not present. He said that they would contact corporate regarding my request to cancel the order even though the contract states the order may be cancelled by seller upon refund of any deposits. On Dec 15th, I called the store, and talked to another manager (who was rude, talked over me, and didn't try to listen). He said that A&R got involved to expedite the furniture and that corporate WILL NOT cancel the order. I asked for them to forward the email to me and they said that they could not. I DO NOT want this furniture in my home! This saga is ongoing. I WISH that I had read the Yelp reviews on this store BEFORE stepping into their show room. So please be warned. Our furniture took forever to get delivered and during the delivery they damaged our house. We attempted to file a claim and because Ashley Furniture uses a contractor, who sub contracts out it is impossible to get the damage fixed. Poor Customer services. Furniture ( bedroom set and Dining Set) delivery dates were poorly coordinated with us. We were suppose to get it delivered in a week but got it 2 weeks late and it was partially delivered. The Delivery and assembly person forgot to bring the hard ware to assemble the bed. Now they will mail us the hardware in a week. The remaining portion of the furniture will be delivered by the end of the month. The bed is not assembled and yet and we did not hear back from the driver as to when to expect them to be back to assemble. Plz save your pretty pennies (more like thousands) and don't buy mattresses from here and if you do, make sure you have a bulletproof return policy. We got two mattresses from them which were very unsatisfactory so we asked for a return. They said they don't do returns and gave us two replacement mattresses. We again found the new ones very unsatisfactory as they caused back pain and discomfort for the people sleeping on them. We told them if they can't give us return, give us store credit and we will still be buying something from their store. They would not budge. Moreover, we had to go through countless phone calls with their store in Fredericksburg where they would tell us they would get back to us and would not. This process dragged on for 3 months. At the end of the three month they told us they basically could not do anything about it, too bad, pay your mattress installments and no store credit. The corporate store in Fredericksburg is mismanaged, nobody is on board as to what is happening (had to fill in every employee who would pick up my phone call as to why I'm calling), and a ripoff. Save yourself! Note: additionally they said that the mattress seemed to be problematic and that is the fault of the manufacturer. In a nutshell, I ordered a furniture set on April 2, 2018, it is now November 7, 2018 (7 MONTHS LATER) and I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY FULL FURNITURE SET!!!! Experiences like this I REALLY wish I could give a ZERO. I came in with my family ready to buy a new family room set to replace the one we currently have. Walked in and it wasn't terribly busy. The layout is nice, however that's the only positive thing I have to say about this store. The 30 mins we spent at Ashley we weren't approached once. Not a hello. NOTHING. We were walked passed numerous times. There were reps there that were available, I saw some greet other customers after ignoring us. Great customer service huh? Despite this I still considered buying a leather set that was over 3k. We sat on the couch just waiting to be asked if we needed help. NOTHING. We realized then that if this is how they treat customers they don't deserve our hard earned money. We walked out and I found exactly what I was looking for elsewhere. I am very upset with the purchase and treatment received at the Woodbridge VA store and Fredericksburg VA warehouse. We purchased a sofa yesterday 11/17 and the sales associate told us it was available at the Fredericksburg warehouse. We spent 15-20 minutes waiting in the store while she confirmed that they did have the sofa there, and told us the sofa had our sale and our name attached to it, so we needed to call the warehouse at the phone number she gave us and confirm to them we would pick it up by the next morning. We immediately called the number and a customer service representative confirmed all our information, name, phone, and email address, and told us that yes, the sofa we bought was at the warehouse and our name is attached to it, and we can pick it up in the morning. So this morning, 11/18, we drove for an hour down to the Fredericksburg warehouse, and on arrival the person at the front desk looks on her computer and says, no, there is no sofa for you. We asked multiple times and she said they have other people's names on the sofa we bought, but there is not one for us. And the woman at the front desk in Fredericksburg is completely unsympathetic, nothing apologetic or offering to try and find out what happened. Simply a cold response, no, no sofa for you. She said we had to go back to Woodbridge (an hour away) and talk to the store. As though we had nothing else better to do than spend half a day driving around Northern Virginia. We were told by the person in Woodbridge and also the person at the customer service from the warehouse on 11/17 that YES WE HAD A SOFA, and suddenly the next morning there is no sofa! So then we had to drive back another hour, go in to the Woodbridge store and now, they tell us there is no sofa. How was there definitely one attached to our name and now it is just gone? We are most upset that the people in the different locations clearly do not have good communication methods, and then send us, the paying customer, wasting hours of our day, and paying for gas to drive all over for a mistake that could easily have been avoided. The staff at Woodbridge proceeded to say that now we have to wait until another shipment arrives sometime in December, and then we have to drive all the way to Fredericksburg AGAIN! And how can they assure us that this time, the sofa will be there? or will this happen again? I will NOT recommend Ashley Furniture to anyone going forward. At the very least, your company should offer to deliver it to us for free after this terrible experience. Yet no one at the store was able to offer any kind of help to resolve this, except to say now we have to wait weeks and then maybe do the same thing again. They said we can apply our purchase price to another sofa -what good is that? We want the sofa we chose! I purchased the furniture on Sept 5th was told in 20 days they will contact me to schedule a delivery day . No one called , I had to call and there was a delay pushing it to October 11th. I reached out again on the 11th just to be told there is still a delay. There is no communication , they keep delaying it another 2 weeks . I ordered living room furniture and bedroom furniture. The delay is because of the bedroom mattress for a bunk bed. If they cared about their customers they would at least deliver my living room furniture. Please Take my advice and do no waste your money or time here, we ordered furniture and were told would be delivered by 04/28/21 which it worked for us because we told them clearly when our moving day 05/08/21 and they told us that the furniture would be delivered by that 05/08/21, almost two weeks later calling to confirm my delivery, they tell me that my furniture will not be delivered till almost 3 months later from promised day, mind you one of the items (mattress) was in stock the day we purchased them and now they told me is back order and that they don't know what happened to the items in stock that perhaps they were "defective "..my moving date is the first week of May and now I am told my furniture will not be available till late July... If you like to have a stressful, annoying and painful shopping experience then this is the place for you.THEY decided to change the delivery date without even notifying me ( their excuse was one item was on back order) but according to them everything else is ready for delivery. So, I scheduled a second delivery and what do you know, my order was not complete, a second item is on back order now ( even though I talked to them 4 days before delivery and I was told everything else is ready for delivery). I tried to talk to someone from the store ( mainly the store manager), he keeps refusing to take my call or promises to give me a call back( I'm still waiting on that call by the way). I have no idea (neither do they) when the item will be available, or if even it will be available. read more

What a great experience! We chose to go to Ashley because we bought our bedroom set from the Ashley store in Fayetteville 3 years ago. We had great service there and expected it would be the same. It was! Brian was our sales representative and he was really what you would hope for. Knowledgeable but not pushy, friendly but not in a used car salesman way. I would sum it up by saying he seemed genuine. We looked at so many sofa sets- finally settling in on one we truly love. Then a table set for the kitchen, and finally when we were about finalized on what to get I found a leather recliner that called my name and fit on me like my favorite slippers. So we had to get that- me that's when we saw the lamps... So- we found everything we were looking for- and felt no pressure at all, but felt like the manager, Brandon and his staff really took care of us. We're so glad we came here today! read more

This store is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. The delivery guys bring scratched up and damaged furniture and it takes hours on end to speak with someone who can understand you and do something about it. It takes weeks before any satisfaction is done with this crazy store. The delivery guy used a credit card to get into my son's room while i went to his school to grab the key. When you call Ashley Furniture to file a complaint, EVERYONE ask stupid and like they don't understand you. So now, I'm looking into how to file a civil suit against them for my money back. They can have the furniture. I'm so done with Ashley. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN MY ENEMY! read more

This store is owned by Trivetts furniture in Fredricksburg. After Trivetts called to set up delivery of the furniture they didn't give me but one date for delivery with no other option. I agreed seeing as how the operator wasn't willing to listen. I then called this store and spoke to a customer service rep and while I figured out what day would be best for me she called to check available dates at their warehouse. We agreed on a date that worked for me and everything was settled. Still have the issue that it took 4 weeks instead of the 2-3 that I was promised on their contract and no one called to say there would be a delay or that it was on the way but would be a little late. read more

After multiple calls and conversations with the (new) manager, problem remains unresolved a month later. I've requested an order cancellation, and while the new manager seems to be willing to help, no progress has been made over the last month. Each time I've spoken with him (four times so far) I have to explain the issue and all the problems anew. Getting a refund when a business screws up should NEVER be this difficult. A word of warning to potential buyers: Ashley's Woodbridge location is independently owned, so the corporate HQ in Wisconsin cannot assist with issues. How Ashley continues to allow this location to continue to trade on its good reputation, I'll never know. read more

Let me start off by saying that I always read Yelp reviews before I go anywhere. This review is for March: My husband suggested we look at Ashley's to furnish our new house but after I read the reviews, I put off coming here for awhile until my husband said we needed a bed frame or else we would not have a place to sleep once we moved in (we were a few weeks away from our closing date). I was very hesitant coming in but we had the best customer service ever. I forgot out salesman's name but he was very helpful, patient, and gave us space when we needed time to discuss over a few things. Our bed frame arrived in perfect shape and even though neither my husband or I were home for the delivery, my dad said they were very nice and did a good job setting everything up. They even placed our mattress on the frame for us. Fast forward to yesterday, my husband and I went back to Ashley's to check out their sofa's and what else we needed since they were extending their memorial day sale and Noor was our salesman this time around. He was also very, very patient with us and worked with us (I can be a difficult negotiator). Needless to say we walked out with 3 pieces of furniture. We bought a headboard for our mattress and we asked the salesperson if we can't fit it up the hallways stairs do we get a refund and the salesperson said yes. (We had an issue with a mattress store also where we could not get the foundation up the hallway stairs due to how narrow it was and had to go through a lot of trouble to get a refund on a foundation that wasn't taken out of the box.) So the same thing happened with the bedframe we bought from Ashley. They try to take it up our stairs, it won't fit, the hardwood floors and paint gets messed up. And so I have them send it back and I never signed for it. So I call customer service and they said no refunds. But the salesperson lied to us and said we would get one. So now we are stuck and they are saying we can get store credit but there is nothing else I want. I don't understand what is up with these stores and there no refund policy. But if we knew this upfront, we wouldn't have bought it in the first place. The problem is the salespeople are so desperate to get a sale, and their training is not up to par, so they lie to the customers to get them to buy stuff. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this. read more

NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY FROM THIS If it was possible to give negative stars I would!!! This is the worst store ever!!! I just purchased a new home and needed to furnish it. I purchased a floor piece that was a last one and was told that it would come off the floor along with it's chairs and the server/buffet that were there. Not once did anyone from management call me to discuss what was going on with my purchase or deliveries. My furniture was just "LOST" and when I did come to the store the assistant manager was the worst customer service provider I have encountered. Basically acting like I had no right to be upset or ask for my delivery fees back. I was not asking for any other kind of discount just delivery fees. He literally sat at his desk right behind the customer service representative that was helping me and started to eat his food. They don't seem to understand that they are dealing with peoples money and not just a few dollars I spent well over $4k in there!!! He told me that I don't know his job or what he is in charge of yet they told me he is the one that needed to assist with my request. This has been the worst nightmare and he then told me that they don't do returns or refunds!!!! And even tried to point it out on the small print of the back of a print out on got on Saturday while in the store cause I never received the original set of documents that were supposed to be emailed to me!! He has no idea what customer service is or how to provide it. I asked multiple times for the GM's name and number and he just kept saying he's going to tell me the same things. The GM was in the store on Saturday 8/21/2021 when I went in to ask about my delivery and if I could get an itemized print out of what I purchased. Jill the customer service representative that day and Ahmad the GM were actually helpful and did make me feel like they cared about me as a customer but today with the assistant Manager was more then the opposite!!!! There is a list of issues I have had for weeks!! 8/7/2021 delivery date between 1-4pm. No one showed up at all!!!! 8/14/2021 This is the next date for delivery I was given for my dining room items. The deliver truck came this time but not with any of what I was told was being delivered. I also purchased a sofa, nightstands, end tables, a full size mattress, chest and a painting. I got the sofa, 1 end table, and 1 nightstand. Nothing else. I spoke to the woman at the warehouse who then told me that they only have the dining chairs from the store. I went into the store due to being in the area to ask about and itemized print out of items ordered. I was then advised that the painting I wanted ordered and was told would be no longer could be and that I would have to take the floor model if I wanted it and that I would have to take it with me it could no longer be delivered. I was also advised that they don't know where the table is and the server/buffet table was still on the floor. NO ONE!! Knew that it was still there some how. Ahmad was able to talk to me along with Jill to get things sorted in order to have the dining room items for me and delivered on 8/28/2021. 8/23/2021 This is when I asked about the price of the mattress and told the gentleman who was very nice that I was told it was $299 not $399. He advised me that the only manager there at the time was the assistant manager but I couldn't hear what his name was it sounded like Harold or Arlo something of that nature. I waited since he was with a customer. I was then told by the customer service gentleman that they would credit me for the mattress. I asked about the delivery charges since I have waited multiple times, days and hours and never got any communication from the store. I don't feel that at this point I should have to pay these charges! He advised me that they already paid the 3rd party delivery service so they can't refund me. How is that my problem as the customer that has been let down multiple times!! He rolled away from me in his chair over to the assistant manager and whispered something back and forth then offered me a $100 gift card!!!! I never want to shop here again what am I going to do with a gift card?! At this point the assistant manager advised me that I needed to not raise my voice which happens when people get frustrated and get told the same thing multiple times like they are dumb. I comprehend what you said the first time!!! He was then condescending and made it seem like as a store once the sale is complete they aren't responsible for anything including customer service in anyway!!! Another woman came in while this was going on and said that I'm not the only one and was even trying to help me when it came to the assistant manager telling him that he can't dictate how I felt about my experiences with them!!! Bottom line is I have been in customer service fir a long time and there is none of that here unless the store is full of people on a Saturday!!! read more
