The problems started during the sales process. The sales approach was excessively persistent and, in my experience, became uncomfortably high-pressure and coercive. I was repeatedly pushed toward making a purchase, and the experience became uncomfortable enough that I now believe this is the point where a customer should simply walk away. A furniture purchase should not feel like you're being pressured into making a significant financial decision before you've had adequate time to evaluate the product and price.Unfortunately I was not on my 'A game' the day I visited Z&R - and the sales team AND OWNER took complete advantage. My strongest advice: do not sign the sales receipt until you are absolutely certain you are ready to purchase. My experience was that once the sales receipt was signed, Z&R would not allow me to cancel the purchase even though they did not provide the documentation they promised. Knowing that beforehand would have significantly changed how I approached the transaction. I was also led to believe that I was receiving a substantial discount on the furniture. After eventually obtaining the actual product information and doing my own research into the specific Southern Motion models and configurations, I have serious concerns that the price I paid was not consistent with the level of discount that was represented to me at the time of purchase, nor was it comparable to other companies who openly place their purchase price online. This is where the lack of timely product information became a major issue. I repeatedly requested the actual manufacturer model numbers, SKUs, and product specifications for the furniture I had purchased. That information was not provided in a timely manner -- and by "not timely," I mean I literally did not receive the information until the day before my furniture was scheduled to be delivered. That delay was particularly problematic because without the actual product specifications, I could not independently research the furniture or compare prices with other Southern Motion dealers while I still had an opportunity to make an informed decision about my purchase. Had I been given the model numbers and specifications when I requested them, I could have researched the exact furniture, compared legitimate dealer pricing, and evaluated whether the discount I was being offered was actually competitive before the furniture was delivered. There was also a significant problem with communication surrounding delivery. My furniture was delivered outside the estimated timeframe I was originally provided, yet I received no proactive communication or follow-up from Z&R explaining the delay or providing an updated delivery timeframe. I had to pursue the information myself rather than receiving the level of communication I would expect after making a substantial purchase. To be fair, I want to make an important distinction: the Southern Motion furniture itself appears to be high quality, and the delivery team was professional and did a good job. My concerns are with Z&R's sales practices, pricing transparency, communication, and customer service, not with Southern Motion or the people who ultimately delivered the furniture. My experience has left me with the impression that Z&R is much more focused on closing the sale than taking care of the customer after the sale. If you're considering purchasing from Z&R, my advice would be: Do not let yourself be pressured into making a decision. Do not sign the sales receipt until you are completely certain you want to purchase. Get the manufacturer's exact model numbers, SKUs, materials, colors/leathers, and specifications in writing before signing. Research the exact products and compare prices with other dealers before committing. Get a realistic delivery timeframe in writing and ask how delays will be communicated. Don't assume that a large "discount" necessarily means you're receiving a good price -- verify the actual market price yourself. For me, the biggest lesson is simple: when a sales process becomes excessively persistent or makes you feel pressured into buying, walk away. You should have enough time and information to make an informed decision about a major purchase. I really like the Southern Motion furniture and had a positive experience with the delivery team. Unfortunately, those positives don't overcome what has been a very frustrating experience with Z&R Furniture's sales practices and customer service.

First off my first of (4) yes I said (4) deliveries went like this. Oct 4th, 2021 the delivery team came to take away my old mattress and box springs. Mind you the first red flag was they did not wear masks or boot coverings which I thought was the norm now. Unless the owner (me) tells them it's ok. But I let that slide because I was just happy to finally be getting a new mattress after having my old one for longer than I should. (I want give the years...lol but it's been a long time coming). So they take the old one out and bring the next box springs up first. That's when I seen the first of the issues which was some torn areas (pics included) on the box springs. So I ask that needs to be replaced so I called the store back. I got a female sales associate who said that I had to first refuse them and they would have to bring back up my old box springs. Now I live in a 3-story townhome so that's about 50-plus stairs and the delivery guys was already looking worn out. Then one of them was saying that I can keep those torn ones and they will still be replaced. I had the mattress firm associates on speaker and she was saying no they being lazy and that I would have to pay a $99 restocking fee if I didn't send the torn "new" box springs back. So there was a lot of back and forth between them which I thought was unprofessional AF. So I got off the phone with her and I was assured by the delivery guy after they called their warehouse manager that I would get a call in the next few days to set up the exchange. So I was like ok I'm believing you over the sales associate. As you guess that call never came. So I called mattress firm about a week or so later and explained about the box springs he quickly set up a delivery date for them to bring me some new ones. So a few days later the (2nd) delivery team came out and when they flipped the mattress over to get the box sprigs that's when we seen the extra big whole in the box of the mattress now!! (Pics included). I was like you have got to be kidding me! So for a 3rd time I had to call mattress firm and send pictures of the damaged mattress. The sales associate got me another delivery date (delivery #3). Delivery #3 comes around where I basically waited up all day after working the entire night shift before they came in flipped the mattress over and was looking confused. They called their manager and was told they couldn't take the mattress because of the damage they could be charged for it. I'm confused because that's the reason why you are here is to make a replacement. So AGAIN I had to call mattress firm for hell I don't lost count...3/4th time and tell them what happened. They going to tell me someone didn't put what the delivery was about in the paperwork so the warehouse workers would know there was a defect in the mattress. Really!?! This is getting entirely ridiculous!! So finally delivery #4 Nov 8th over a month since the first delivery guys came out came and went without a hitch. I say all this and gave them a 2-star because this is just unacceptable! Fussing in front of customers, no communication between the store and the warehouse on what to tell customers when there is an issue with a product, and just the numerous times you had to come out wasting my time. I would not recommend them to anyone. Mattress is good FINALLY but never again will they get my service unless they given out really good discount ls!

We were greeted by both Vince and John but John was the one who broke down the layout of the store and gave is the "3 Little Bear" test to make sure we found the comfort we needed. Ultimately we decided on the Purple 4 mattress and decided to do the 90 day same as cash financing, we didn't intend on spending more than a certain amount and the mattress was above our limit, but both Vince and John went above and beyond to make sure we walked out with what we desired. My one star deduction comes from two things. One, the day of delivery, there was a box spring (split King) missing, which was fine because we had a foundation from our old mattress that worked just fine and it gave me time to do research (but still, one and done would have been nice). Which brings me to my second reason, which may be no fault of John or Vince. The Purple mattress cannot be used with a box spring, it voids the warranty, a box foundation is fine but nothing with springs. Which I found online and had to call and let John know. Even still, he was very accommodating and made sure to call the Purple rep to confirm and made sure we had the right foundation. Overall the experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good, quality mattress. There's something for everyone and they'll get you taken care of.

This is the worst place we have ever done business with. "DO NOT BUY THIS PLACE" We have been lied to at every step, we have gotten no help and nothing but "we'll send an email" and "we'll call you" and we never get a phone call back. My wife and I saw a king bed Ashley online and we wanted to purchase it at a local Ashley Woodbridge store. We placed the order and within 24 hours we changed our mind and tried to cancel the order. We called and no one answered. Then the next day the customer service said they will call back no one called. Then we went to the store and they said the store manager is not here and will get a call the next day but no one called. On the fifth day, I called left voice messages. Six days later, the salesperson called my wife and said she can't cancel the order. We bought a $2800 worth king set bed and our delivery date is two weeks away. Ashley online where we saw the bed clearly said you can return 48 hours before the delivery date. We even explained to them that we saw the advertisement Ashley online that should honor that advertisement. But instead, they wanted us to pay a 30% cancellation fee which is an irresponsible act. We are not recommending this place, do not buy here, go somewhere else. read more

Today marks the 15th week, that I was texted and called by a delivery company by the name of T & T Delivery; telling me that I would have my furniture delivered today. Of course, they called me at 1:00 PM and never delivered between 1-4 PM, as promised. It is amazing that companies with these sorry ethics stay in business. I am so disgusted with this entire process, I think that a phone call is made to me, on the delivery date as a guise. In other words, Ashley Furniture (Woodbridge VA) and their delivery company never intended on delivering furniture to my home today. Be aware that this company and it's delivery companies are all thieves and robbers. Nabi was right in line with the others on price, though there was another place that would have been cheaper had we been willing to deliver the rug to their plant. We didn't really want to do that, so that discount was immaterial. Nabi worked with me on scheduling a pickup that was very convenient. The two guys who showed up were friendly and professional, and gave me some good information about how much the repairs to the torn fringe corners would be. He noticed we had no pad under the rug, and had no trouble talking me into buying a rug pad -- thankfully, I had already done research on rug pads, and knew the one he was offering me was high quality and an excellent price. Easy sale :-) The cleaning took a little less than a week, and the repair took only a few days. For the return of the rug, once again it was at my convenience. The friendly folks who brought back the rug placed the pad and the carpet where I wanted them, and were pleased that we were pleased. I was beginning to think that there weren't any places left that took pride in their work and were good to their customers. But Art Underfoot has restored some of my faith in local business!
