Just a couple of minutes later, our salad and soup arrived, followed almost immediately by the hibachi chef. If speed is the priority, they have that part down. The food, however, was a major letdown at best. The fried rice was especially disappointing. With five servings being prepared at the table, there was only two eggs used total! no vegetables, no seasoning, and no flavor. This wasn't fried rice so much as plain rice warmed up on a griddle. The mushrooms were burned, and the vegetables were equally bland. Worse, the smell of burned food lingered for the rest of the meal. For entrées, we ordered the filet and the Sukiyaki steak both medium. The filet arrived rare, while the Sukiyaki was beyond well done. The filet was bland and noticeably underseasoned, but the Sukiyaki did have genuinely good flavor and was easily the best part of the meal. Overall, Kobe Little Rock was mediocre at best. The service started strong, but the lack of flavor throughout most of the meal made it difficult to overlook. And while our drinks were promptly delivered, they were never refilled.
