Extremely disappointed at the complete disregard for COVID-19 safety guidelines. I came to pick up my online order but decided not to go in after witnessing a crowded restaurant with no social distancing. Two patrons were not wearing masks while waiting for their food in this small space. While my family and I have enjoyed Asia Cafe food many times in the past, we will not be returning during this pandemic. I urge the owners to consider having patrons wait for their food in their cars and to offer online payment. The current takeout environment is wreckless and unsafe. read more

To start things off, a 12 year old girl took our order and our money. Needless to say, our order was screwed up. Their fried rice is no more than yellow rice and it ha no flavor. Very nice people. Got lunch combo sweet & sour chicken, Hunan beef, and an order if mixed veggies. The lunch combo is $5.25, u have to pay $0.75 extra if you want an egg roll or soup (not clear in the wording on the menu). Been here before, food has always tasted pretty good; they advertise Hibachi plates, however if you enjoy a traditional Hibachi plate from a Japanese place, I would not suggest ordering one from here - it has a chinese flavor to it and I did not care for it. The Hunan beef was not very spicy in my opinion, it does have the red pepper next to it thou. The veggies and sweet and sour chicken were just average in my opinion. Great Chinese food for those in or near Flowers. We see many people ride their golf carts in our neighborhood to here. They have great food and it is always hot and fresh when you pick it up. My only two complaints are that they always quote 20-25 minutes and it always is more like 35-40 minutes. You always end up waiting a while in the restaurant for pickup. They also have a board up that has Christmas stuff on it from 2018 that they could definitely update or at least clean off. They take online orders and phone orders. They food is very tasty and reliable to order. Sometimes it can be a bit more spicy than normal but overall they are great and we always call there for our Chinese food. The sauce was too sweet for my liking and had a thick viscosity that wasn't pleasing for my palate. The wait was ridiculously long for no reason. Most orders were call ahead or Grub hub pick ups. We were told 10 minutes, 50 minutes later...of course we'd paid so there was no refund possible. Haven't even tasted the food yet, actually, haven't even left the parking lot yet. Never again. read more

I ordered the orange chicken and egg drop soup for dinner and it is amazing! It is the best Chinese food, from a somewhat fast food restaurant, I have had in a long time. I highly recommend them. I drove from Knightdale just to try it! They also give good size portions. I made 2 meals out of it! read more

And the mother is even more ruder, they all look and treat you like you should be thankful their doing business there. I picked up a meal with chicken with cashews, beef lomein and hot and sour soup. after waiting 20 minutes. I thought that it would still be hot when I got home less than a mile from the store. Ist time here. Prices are great, food served at such a hot temp we waited 15 min to be able to even try it. The shrimp with lobster sauce was good, large shrimp but not deveined. Good sesame chicken. This is now my family's go-to for asian food. Absolutely wonderful food. The wait time was within reason and the food was fairly priced.

Went to grab dinner with my husband tonight. They close at 10pm on Tuesdays and as we were walking in at 8:30, the chairs were being put up on the tables. We ordered our food and took it home. When we opened the bag, I was given sweet and sour chicken instead of sesame chicken. Granted, it was our fault for not checking the bag before we left, but we were the only ones there and she repeated the order back to us before we paid. I don't mind sweet and sour, but this was awful. The chicken was not good and the rice was dried out and kind of chewy. My egg roll was greasy and didn't taste good. My husband got hibachi and was disappointed with that as well. He ate his, mine is in the trash. If you're looking for good Chinese, give Sushi Iwa a try.... read more

You know it's legit when there's drinks stacked 10 feet high in one corner and the girl ringing you out is 11 years old and bilingual. The place is clean as a whistle and I've never had a bad meal here. I recommend the Chicken Lo Mein. It's better than any other place within a 15 mile radius (in my opinion). Just a heads up though, you'll wait on average 5 minutes longer for you food than most other places, but I guess better food takes more time. Enjoy! read more

For a while there, I fell out of love with Chinese food. I never thought that a little fast food joint in Clayton, NC would help me to like it again. Everything I have ordered from Asia Cafe is fresh and tasty and--most importantly--not greasy! I usually get the beef and broccoli and the beef is very tender and not chewy at all. I am also a fan of the crab rangoon. Thanks in large part to the language barrier, there have been a few order mix-ups and filling the orders does tend to take a while, so I definitely recommend calling ahead rather than ordering while you wait. The folks that work the counter aren't the friendliest in the world, but I am willing to deal with a bit of surliness for good food and leftovers for days! read more

So this is a new place in the Archers Lodge area (located in the same shopping center as the new harris tetter), and I must say the food is great. This is the best American/Chinese restaurant in Johnston county hands down This is the only place in JoCo that has cold sesame noodles, and the spice is perfect on them. This is one of the only places where I order something hot and spicy, it is actually spicy, but not over powering. They use gas burners on the wok's so they get the "Breath of The Dragon" in each dish.the prices are very VERY reasonable, and the quality is fresh top notch ingredients. I also got 10 panko breaded fried scallops for $4, and they were as tender as butter.The staff are uber friendly, and they will substitute any ingredients from a dish with no hassles. Aside of the fact that the lady that works up front is severely lacking in the people-skills department, this is possibly the best Chinese food restaurant in the Clayton area. Being a creature of habit, I can only base my review on five menu items, but those five items are great. Specifically, the vegetarian options in this town are scarce at best, unless you end up ordering something "just without the meat." Asia Cafe, however, has a vegetarian section, including the General Tso tofu and vegetarian egg rolls. I find their prices to be fair. Now, for all the detractors regarding the "little girls that work there," get over it or call CPS or the health department if you want something done. Otherwise, deal with the fact that this restaurant does the same thing that literally every. single. other. Chinese restaurant does. I've never in my life gone to a strip mall Chinese restaurant and not encountered a child doing homework who then, in turn, settles my bill. And, for those with issues with wait times; call. ahead. Seriously. It's not that hard. If your order takes 30 minutes to prepare... perhaps call the order in 30 minutes before you want it? Just a thought. Just... be prepared for the lady that answers the phone... she's the one from paragraph one of this review. I really don't think she's a mean person, but she REALLY comes across as if she is. Good food, but the wait is ridiculous. Even though we called in our order and were told it would be ready in 20 min, when we arrived there were a lot of people waiting for their food. The child (maybe 12-14 years old?) at the register had us pay and assured us that the order would be ready shortly. We waited for another 45 min to get our food, and the order was incorrect! We have experienced extra long waits and incorrect orders several times at this restaurant. The food is very good, but not worth the aggravation. We are going elsewhere from now on. UPDATE: In spite of the fact that I viewed not to order from them again, my husband loves the food and has ordered from there three times since my review. Each time the order was filled promptly. 3rd visit & second review with same result. Average food for average price. I tried the hibachi trio this evening with chicken, steak & shrimp. It came with a lot of brown rice & cabbage. To stream line the review, chicken dry & over cooked, steak was chewy and rubbery, shrimp was hard to find. Taste was good overall, but it's a common theme here for being a little skimpy on the meat portions. My previous review also mentioned lack of pork in fried rice among other things. Third visit, now I am done. Place up the street is better IMHO. read more
