I love the food here. I also love the couple who own the place. They are always there working everyday and are so friendly. I am a regular and they know my name, also my dad, brother, aunts and uncles. Whenever I feel like trying something different she will suggest dishes to try and I've always been happy with the recommendations. Also you can ask them to make Any dish or specialty dish that isn't on the menu. The prices aren't bad and hey are large portions I always have left overs, or you could split a combination meal with someone. Things that i think they do the best are, egg rolls, egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, and beef and broccoli. read more

So I have read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. Called in my order, and was told 40 minutes. I went 40 min and the order was only 5 more minutes. This place is a small hole in the wall, with only two people manning the shop. One cooking the other handling the counter and phones. She had a pile of orders on the counter and the wait she was telling people was one hour. Ordered the chicken lo mein spicy as others said is a must. I haven't yet experienced this restaurant with the new owners, but I'd give the old owners 1 star. Their food was ok, but they were certainty not customer focused and the place is a hole in the ground. Just go in and you'll see exactly what I am saying if you dare. There are not restaurants that looks worse than this one. It's a small space, partitioned off from the adjourning building in the middle of a very rural area at the intersection of a 4-way stop. read more

The old owners who did such a great job are gone. I've been told they retired, while happy for them, I'm sad for the downriver area they served. The new owners have not maintained they quality and taste that made this place so good. Still decent, but not what it was. read more

Diamond in the rough! This place is owned by a wonderful couple and they use only fresh ingredients. The soups are all made to order as are the meals. No standing food or pots with day old food in them. The egg rolls are the best!!!! Hot and Sour soup is great also. I like that a lot of their dishes are made Chinese traditional as well as American style. Friendly and welcoming owners. read more

This was without a doubt the best Asian food I've had in Michigan and possibly ever. Watched jeopardy while they made the food and it just felt like a authentic human experience, not just culturally, -- having it prepared the way they do is great. A friend told me about this place so I decided to try it. Usually I'm skeptical about new Chinese restaurants, but this is by far the best Chinese food I've had. Me and my fiancé eat here all the time, he even goes inside to talk with them while they make our food, which they make fresh and by hand. After reading all the glowing reviews, I decided to give it a try. I called and wanted two orders of egg foo yung. But was told they only make it twice a week. Got the egg drop soup, egg rolls, shrimp lo mein and chicken chow mein. The soup was OK but not great. The shrimp was more noodles than anything else. The chow mein was mediocre at best. I can't recommend this place. It was only OK. IMHO, Shong Hay in Trenton is still the best Downriver. Feel free to disagree. read more

New owners. We ordered a few items and after several bites we all agreed the new owners are an improvement. Egg drop soup had a better consistency, the Crab Ragoon had more than a drop of filling, egg rolls had great flavor and probably the best lemon chicken I've had in a long time. The chicken was lightly breaded with decently sized breast meat vs all breading with chicken hiding in there. We'll be back. read more

My first time trying this place was tonight, it's pretty good but I've had Better. I ordered the sesame chicken Combo, TSO General chicken combo and the shrimp lo mein Qt. My grand total was $28.00. They cook with REAL chicken unlike some other places but, I wanted to substitute the veggie fried rice for shrimp fried rice and she said that I couldn't which was a first for a Chinese restaurant. My wait time was at least 45 min or more because I couldn't get through on the phone. The rice was kinda dry and the chicken pieces were soggy but the flavors were pretty good. Overall I thought this place was Ok ...not bad but not the best. Judge for Yourself. read more

Best food around!! I live downriver and work in Monroe County and would drive from anywhere to get the food from Asia Express. It may not be an up to date restaurant as far as decor goes but it's take out anyway so who cares. read more

Food is fantastic. Unfortunately the owners decide to open whenever they please, and answer the phone only when they please as well, so if you're planning on ordering your food when they open (11am) you should probably not waste time calling until 11:30 or noon. I've lived in the area for 2 years and I've driven by this place many times. Its a small carry out located in a small strip mall in the middle of nowhere. The sign is small and you can easily drive by it. I decided to stop in and give it a try for the first time tonight. I've been searching for 2 years to find a Chinese restaurant that makes general tso's chicken the way I like it. I had a favorite place before I moved here but going there is no longer an option. Most of the restaurants around here make it very sweet (almost like brown sugar sweet) and not very spicy. The lady behind the counter said that most people that have tried their general tso's chicken do not want any other. She was right. It was just the right amount of spice (not over powering) and tangy the way I like it. The food was excellent. The building condition resembles what I'm used to for authentic Chinese restaurants which is a little run down and cluttered but that is part of the character that comes with good food. read more
