Always a bail-out when the cravings for Fried Rice get to me. Have had several items from the Menu and I can say it is pretty decent. I usually buy take out from there, so I can't rate them on service. Have eaten there on and off for years..........love the yellow chicken curry, Po Tek, Tiger Cry, spring rolls, and they will make it to your degree of heat........mild, medium, and you better be Thai to eat the HOT! It has grown since I started eating there, but, no growing pains here, the food is impeccable, the service is great, and the friendliness is what greets you! Kinda on the high $ side, since I stated eating there, so I only go a few times a year. Their food is fresh. Wish they still had crab in the po tek, guess it was too expensive. Deplorable service everytime, I usually order over the phone and pick it up and it's always about 10-15 minutes late 100% of the time, today I find out they finally stepped into the 22nd century and are now offer online ordering....whoooa....so I tried and this time I show up 30 minutes later thinking I figured it all out....nope. Their online system gets sent to someone's damn cell phone in the restaurant?!? WTF is that a cell phone really? So if they don't hear the phone they don't cook it and you get poled in the back. Needless to say, they really poled me. No food for me. To boot they didn't even tell me any of this they just said it will be right up, 10 15 minutes after waiting I get up and inquire that's when they decide to tell me they hadn't even started cooking it yet! This is 45 minutes after ordering mind you. Again no food for me. The food is okay if they happen to get it right otherwise small restaurant trying to do big things, not worth the headache. Yelp really should offer partial stars. Thai Chili is way better. read more

Always excellent, Miss Sally, Pat and family continue making fantastic food at really reasonable prices. Naomi is doing a great job as the manager, the staff is attentive and always friendly, helpful. Lunch is always an amazing bargain, but can't get there mid day that often. I have been eating there since May of 94 and have seen the restaurant change from a market/restaurant to just expanded restaurant and will continue eating there as many times a year as I can. My family and I have been eating here for years, ever since there was a little store attached to the restaurant. The food is always great and service is always friendly. I have no problem with being offered a beverage when I walk in or a slice of lime in my water but if I did I would just say so- problem solved. This place has the best Thai food in the city. Always enjoy our meals here. I would have rated it a five but, the last three times we were there the restaurant was terribly cold. 1st timer and was to-go. Ordered chicken pad Thai, Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, pad see ew, cheese rolls and gyoza. Very impressed and will return. No online ordering but calling in was a breeze and customer service was excellent. My pad Thai was delicious. Noodles cooked just right and quality ingredients. Every piece of chicken was great, fresh bean sprouts and scallions throughout. Ordered as is to see how it's made and will probably order mild next time. Delicious but if you want a little spice, get mild at least. My husband said the Mongolian beef was the best he's ever had. Spice level-medium. He also wanted to try the Thai and ordered the pad see ew. Loved that as well. One note-he loves spice, serious spice, and ordered pad see ew with spice level of hot. The gentleman taking our order explained their medium is up to a 10 and the hot is beyond that. It was some genuine Thai and truly hot. A few tears with that one. So if you seriously love spicy, go for it. Son had the sesame chicken. Good meat, can order dark, white or combo. He had dark. Flavor was good. The sauce seemed to have soaked into the breading, but probably would have been better if not to-go. And this seems like really a Thai restaurant anyway-but has a handful of Americanized Chinese for those that are not into Thai. Cheese rolls and gyoza were good as well. They have a large variety of apps including steamed mussels that will try when dining in. Fair prices, good food (you get very big portions btw) and great customer service so far. I wish I could give Asia Kitchen a better review because the staff is nice and the restaurant is pretty cozy (hence the extra star), but the food was somewhat of a miss. The cheeserolls were super yummy - like crag ragoons minus the crab... And in spring roll form. Delicious none the less! I got the pad thai since that's supposed to be their specialty but it was waaaaay sweet. Only ate a couple of bites. Additionally, the chicken in it was very dry and it was mostly noodles - very little green onions and peanuts. womp womp. the sesame chicken was kind of icky too - the sauce tasted weird. probably wont come back, but if we do - we're getting those cheese rolls again! read more

This is one of the first places I had Thai food, so it will always have a small soft spot in my heart. I've since gone on to discover much tastier options, but this will do in a pinch. I now work in an area where this is one of the few accessible Thai options, and I never leave dissatisfied, but I also don't leave ecstatic. It's perfectly serviceable Thai/Chinese food, but nothing to go out of my way for. Service is quick and efficient, but I think the quickness is a function of having all the lunch specials pre-made and ready to go. If there were a better option for lunch, I'd take it. I absolutely love this place! I get something different every time we come but the one thing I always have to have is a large order of spring rolls as an appetizer....they are fantastic, especially with the sweet dipping sauce! I've been to Asia Kitchen 3 times; twice for dinner take out and once for lunch; dine in. This last visit I ordered Chinese Broccoli with Chicken. It was pretty good. The portion is pretty big and tastes good. Their Chinese Broccoli dish is stir fried with broccoli, baby corn, mushrooms, and water chestnuts in oyster sauce; with your choice of Beef, chicken, pork, or vegetables. The choices for Chinese takeout in San Antonio are pretty limited; so this worked out. I'd go back. read more
