This is one of the smaller Asian grocery stores in town. I've only been here once. We had some trouble finding what it is we needed. That's kind of typical of our trips to Asian grocery stores... but we totally gave up looking for one item. I will return if I am again in that area, but I'm closer to other such markets. read more

I stop by Asian Market every now and then because it is conveniently located for me. The inside feels much less crowded than some of the Asian grocery stores further east on Olive. You can find most items you would need for Korean cooking here. They offer some items for other East Asian cuisines (Japanese somen, sauces, furikake, curry packets; Thai curry pastes; a couple brands of fish sauce), but if the recipe you have in mind isn't Korean, you might have to stop by another store. Still, they are very friendly and polite here, so I will be shopping at this store whenever I am low on kimchi. read more

Stopped by here to just check it out... I would recommend you check the expiration date before buying and when you buy fruits, be mindful of your selection... we wanted to buy the concord grapes, but while the top looked fresh, the rest looked nasty. We picked one cart up and saw moldy grapes, beware of those fresh fruits!! Yeah, we put the box back, not worth spending $18 for moldy grapes. Outside of that, they carried all your Korean needs. Asia Market is a destination store for me since I don't live that close, but they regularly have Japanese mochi for New Year good luck. I was there today for some. The staff is helpful to point out where to find what you want. The store is small and mostly Korean, but I find almost everything I want for Japanese cooking. Plus rice crackers and candies. Vegetable selection is small, mostly some Asian vegetables. It's fun to look around at the kitchen and personal care items. Today the selection of dishware was shockingly slim - usually I end up buying a cute little dish or bowl. Plenty of parking in this almost hidden strip mall pocket and there's a boba tea shop and Korean restaurant at the plaza, too. read more

There are 3 Korean grocery stores all right in this area. Asia Market has quite a nice selection of fresh items as well as Korean and other Asian nonperishables. Today I bought 2 sets of Sujeo (the Korean Chopsticks with matching spoon), a great Tupperware container with 4 sections, some pickled ginger, pickled radish, and a roll of kimbap made in the store. Asia Market is another staple for the Korean community in St. Louis. Conveniently located in a strip mall on Olive and Fee (Creve Coeur), the grocery store sits quietly in the back corner right next to a delicious Korean restaurant. The staff are always super friendly as I've found them to be extremely helpful when I send my husband to pick up ingredients (he can't speak or read Korean). From what I'm told, they'll usher him to what ever he needs and do their best to offer substitutes if they don't happen to have the product in stock. My wife and I live in northeast Missouri, so we don't have access to the best variety of food or supermarkets. We got tons from Asia market (meat, marinades, produce). It was all fresh and delicious. I don't have much free time, but this market is worth going out of your way to get the good stuff. Asia Market has a great selection of Asian foods along with other ethnic varieties such as Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, and of course Korean! It is definitely worth a visit! I found my rice cooker and other trinkets for my house here and very reasonably priced. A few of my favorite things to get at Asia Market includes: their grandmother's homemade side dishes (banchan), rice cakes, and kimbop. They have changed a lot since last owner and will be happy with your grocery shopping here! The fresh vegetables and fruits are a hit and the bulgolgi is delicious!!! Great selection of seadweed, tofu, dumplings, tea, noodles, and rice! After visiting Kim's Bakery and Wudon all in one afternoon it was only fit we end out day at Asia Market. Our friends who shop here regularly needed to pick up stuff and I was in after I heard they sell Soju. I grabbed 3 bottles and got talked into some plum wine. The Soju was about $6.99 a bottle. We also grabbed some pocky sticks, instant coffee (actually pretty good), and some different instant noodles/ramen that my SO likes. The store itself is fun to explore if you're looking to try some new things. As far as I know, Asian markets are the only places in STL that retail Soju. I'll probably stock up again after my next trip to Wudon. read more

Here's a tip. Korean BBQ is quite easy to make with a simple recipe. All you need is the meat and the pre-made marinade which is quite damn good. The short rib cuts you can't find at a normal store but you can buy them here at this asian store or any other asian store. I also recommend the korean chicken marinage if you grill chicken at a bbq. I'm telling you, if you marinade these two meats, then the next BYOB bbq you go to you will be the SUPERSTAR. anyhow, this store is a korean mecca. If you want korean ingredients, then its a 5 star store. However, they lack in other asian cultures for sure. The noodle section is very diverse. you can try all kinds of stuff. Mochi balls can also be found here with ice cream delights inside. While your at it, go to Hangook Korean restaurant next door. read more

There is a wide selection of different Asian-ethnic foods ranging from noodles, rice, spices, drinks and even Japanese candies. If it's Asian and you need it, they most likely have it. And on your way out, grab a traditional Korean sushi-like seaweed roll called "kim-baab" for like $2.50. I know; "seaweed roll" doesn't sound so tasty, but trust me, it's delicious! :) Also, if you're into different juices, there is a grape drink called "Bon Bon," which has real grape bits in it! Not a bad Korean market for the Midwest. They have pretty much everything you're looking for and the prices are decent (obviously more expensive than the larger cities, but not by much). I live in the CWE and make the trek here every so often and it's completely worth it if I want to make Korean food at home. Their kimchi tends to be a little less fermented than I want so after I buy a jar, I unscrew the top a bit and let it rest in my sink (or on a plate) for 1 - 2 days. read more

This has been one of my favorite markets. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. There's a wide selection and they even have fresh kimbop at the register. There's a wide selection of fish and vegetables that you wouldn't find at an American market so it's a nice change of pace. Plus there's a Korean restaurant right next door! read more

It's a little Korean market with a decent selection of dry goods, some frozen items, and a small section of produce. Depending on the time you go, some of the produce can be a little old. It's also wise to check the expiry dates on some goods, as some are past their expiry dates. I usually come to this store mainly to buy the dry goods since it's the closest to where I live. Prices are in the moderate range. read more

Maybe it's because I came from Chicago my expectations were a little higher but it was a bit dirty, most of the tofu was expires by a couple weeks (not just days) and it was expensive. Just make sure you check the dates before checking out. read more

This is the best Asian Market in the St Louis, Metropolitan Area for Korean Food. Located in a Mall Complex I do believe. There is a Asian restraunt nearby and it is always busy in the evening. Located in a small mall so plenty of free parking. This market is small but they really pack in the stuff. You can get everything from Paki to Kem-chi. Lots of varieties of frozen fish, Rice cakes, bulgoki, Korean Short Ribs, Pot Stickers (Ya-chi-man-du), To-po-ki, and everything in-between. I like their big bags of Currey Mix and their odds and ends. They have all of the korean and asian spices you might need to make whatever you want from pickled raddishes to Kim (Sea Weed), Hot bean paste, Dried red Peppers, Roasted Barley, Sesame Seed Oil, etc. I guess if you have seen one asian market you have seen them all. This one is extremely well stocked and every shelf is packed to the brim. Just dont get run over by the regular customers. read more

They use to carry the HIkari Organic Miso soup and stopped. In its place is some mediocre Miso filled with additives. Very Disappointing. Will be shopping elsewhere read more
