Stopped by here to just check it out... I would recommend you check the expiration date before buying and when you buy fruits, be mindful of your selection... we wanted to buy the concord grapes, but while the top looked fresh, the rest looked nasty. We picked one cart up and saw moldy grapes, beware of those fresh fruits!! Yeah, we put the box back, not worth spending $18 for moldy grapes. Outside of that, they carried all your Korean needs. Closer to downtown and next to Korean restaurant.

There are 3 Korean grocery stores all right in this area. Asia Market has quite a nice selection of fresh items as well as Korean and other Asian nonperishables. Today I bought 2 sets of Sujeo (the Korean Chopsticks with matching spoon), a great Tupperware container with 4 sections, some pickled ginger, pickled radish, and a roll of kimbap made in the store. You never know what you're going to find here. I will be back.

    Great selection of teas!

There's a wide selection of fish and vegetables that you wouldn't find at an American market so it's a nice change of pace.

I was happy to find some fantastic canned cold brews as well, so I was covered with my "coffee before the real coffee" the next morning. I might have a problem. The vibe in here is good when you walk in, a little weird towards the back. I'm not sure if part of the back was open or storage, it got darker and more isolated. There were tons of other snacks and a lot of Asian specialty items as well. Nice to have a store anchored in a busier area and near the university. I will definitely pop in here again if staying in the Loop.

United Provisions has turned into decent place to stop for a quick snack. When I stopped by last week, I bought 2 tornado relief fundraising mystery snack boxes. What a nice idea and so nicely presented. My cat enjoyed sitting on the wrapping paper. I've only unboxed one (the other is a gift). I don't want to spoil the mystery here, but I will add that I was a little disappointed that there were no chips or crackers in the box. However, the box value seemed quite good.

This Asian grocery store is mostly what you would expect of a small grocery store. When I say…read moresmall, it's of an average smallness. Bigger than a convenience mart, much smaller than a Schnuck's. This grocery store is nestled into a very nicely kept shopping plaza. I'm rating the East East Oriental grocery store 4 stars because it's well lit, decently organized and is reasonably easy to find the things you might need, as long as you know what you're wanting. With that said, I found the selection a bit limited and some prices higher than expected. I visited this grocery store to stock up on a few things to help me make Sushi rolls. I got the Nori sheets I wanted, the primary reason I went there. However, it was from a brand that I don't normally use. That's what I mean by limited. I actually prefer the Yamamoto brand, but they don't carry it. So, I guess I get to try a new brand. I also picked up pickled Daikon, miso paste, tofu, pickled ginger and dried seaweed (Wakame). I was hoping to find some dried tofu, but they don't have it. You can get dried tofu as part of some miso soup packet mixes, but I wasn't looking for that. I also didn't need Furikake, wasabi, rice or Kewpie mayo, but they do carry these. On the flip side, they do not carry the small jars of Huy Fong Vietnamese garlic chili sauce. They only carry the larger size. I prefer the smaller size, but only because it takes me a long while to get through even that sized jar. For powdered Wasabi, I only recall seeing relatively large bags at around $20. That sized bag would last me years. On the plus side, the store does have a decent amount of dinnerware including ceramic bowls. If you're looking for larger sized bowls for Pho or Ramen, they do carry these. They also have a reasonably good selection of various Asian brand canned meat and fish. They also have a smallish section of fresh produce. As for prices, they are often on the higher than expected side. 100 sheet package of seaweed is around $25. That's actually a decent price all things considered. That makes it $2.50 for 10 sheets or $12.50 for 50 sheets. This 100 sheet package is way cheaper than buying 10 sheet packages. Furikake is around $4.50 or so, just a tad pricey. Keep in mind these are 2025 prices. Your mileage may vary. If you're looking for something specific like a sauce, there's a decent chance they'll have it here. Overall, I would definitely shop here again when I'm running low on Sushi fixings. Though, at 15 miles distance from home, it's a bit of a trek.

I ended up grabbing several bag of chips and a slice of cake as well. The lumpia were perfectly crispy with great flavor, and the cake was incredibly moist. Next time I'm back in town, I definitely want to try the ube bread!

I know it's hard to compare restaurant food to home-cooked meals, and I wasn't expecting to be wowed. "Mid" would've been fine, but unfortunately, this fell below that for us. We ordered the menudo, chicken adobo, bangus, and lechon. Both the menudo and chicken adobo were noticeably sweet and not in a subtle way. The bangus only came as half with the combo (I'm not sure if that's standard), which was a bit disappointing since I'm used to getting a whole bangus. The lechon had a slightly off taste possibly from the oil used. I ended up cutting it up and putting it in the air fryer, which helped a bit, especially with Mang Tomas. My kids were excited for the ube bread, but there was barely any ube. Thankfully, I had ube jam at home to add more. That said, I'm still glad this restaurant is here representing the Filipino community. It's wonderful that they host gatherings and bring people together. I do think there's room for improvement, especially when it comes to showcasing Filipino food well for those who may be trying it for the first time.

The prices were ridiculous! Then I remembered that in AZ, a local Indian vendor sold them as imported goods. I Googled local Indian grocery stores (this place had not yet been added to Yelp) and found Seema. I called them, and glory to the highest...they had the chips! I scurried over to the grocery store with only minutes to spare before closing time. It's located right next to Swagruha Indian Cuisine, off of Dorsett, just west of 270; they share a parking lot. Upon entering, I was greeted with a smile by the employee. The store is fairly large. There were multiple aisles filled with Indian groceries and a refrigerated section in the rear of the store. I located the snack aisle in the middle of the store and there they were! My beloved Lay's India's Magic Masala Chips! They were only $1.49 each and I grabbed almost every bag on the shelf.
