I hate and I like buffets. Back in my college days I loved them and I came here a few times but it was pricier than the cheap ones. Now it is cheaper than the other chinese buffets around this area. I made my way back to see how it is. Refills service on the buffet was pretty good as most of the stuff I grabbed was hot, not just warm. I went right at 12 on a Sunday. The choices are not bad as I like their peanut chicken entree ( a little dry but tasty), my wife likes their black pepper chicken, and they have fried corn nuggets. The low mein is also decent. They have plenty of American food options with a decent number of seafood as well. They have fish even though it looks a bit dried out. It is a buffet, you can't expect tender juiciness. All in all, this buffet works for those once every 4-6 month food gluttony splurges. They don't have Hibachi, but they are a few dollars cheaper as well. read more

Well it started off well, the appetizers like the stuffed mushrooms, egg rolls, crab Rangoon and teriyaki chicken skewers were all done right, then the Far East Buffet on the Far West Side went straight to hell. The peanut chicken which I find at other buffets to be grainy and sweet is actually quite dry as is their black pepper chicken. The garlic green beans are standard Chinese buffet fare and the white rice has always been a problem here, instead of being stored in a rice cooker it's kept in a food service tray covered in plastic wrap allowing it to dry out and become crunchy. On this wonderful evening a table right next to us featured a child eating too fast and ended up hurling fried rice all over the floor, the odor adding to the wonderful ambiance. The table attendants politely picking up used plates and refilling sodas promptly, I wish I could understand mandarin as I knew from their body language the attendants were judging everyone as they chattered in small groups or as the kids now say, spilling that tea. It's been a few years since we've been here and from the events and quality of food this evening, it'll be another few years if ever that we'll return. read more

Incredibly racist and bad service. My wife and I dined here recently. I spent over 6 years in China and can speak fluent Chinese. We were seated near a service station and could overhear the staff speaking with each other. They made incredibly rude remarks about several of the families seated nearby. I won't bring myself to repeat anything but the kindest of these remarks were calling the family "stupid brown monkeys". We were incredibly offended and left promptly. But even if this hadn't been the case, there is a complete lack of any customer service. Waitresses there actively avoid catching the customer's eye and one just turned around and walked the other way when I waved at her. Definitely not recommended. Stay away from this place. read more

If you are looking for unlimited amounts of low quality food for a cheap price this place is for you. They have the staple Americanized Chinese offerings (90% chicken), plus a few mediocre attempts at American cuisine. This type of restaurant usually has a small sushi selection, but it was enormous rolls of rice with a tiny speck of other unidentifiable ingredients in the middle. Shrimp, both hot and cold, was over cooked beyond rubbery to the point of being mush. There was a hunk of equally over cooked roast beef that I wasn't brave enough to try. Egg rolls were tiny and dry. I could go on but you get the idea. I would give this only one star, but for the low price ($11.45 including tax for one person) I believe that I got what I paid for. If you need to feed a lot of people on a limited budget this may be the place for you, just don't take a first date there if you are hoping for a second date. read more

Yeah, it's a buffet, and yeah the food isn't exquisitely fantastic, but for a buffet, it is really excellent. For $12 you get to choose from a huge range of dishes - from the ubiquitous veggie lo mein, steamed and fried rice, general Tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, salt and pepper calamari, spring rolls, teriyaki chicken etc, to more child-friendly items like pizza, corn, mac and cheese, smiley potato cakey thingies etc. If you fancy some soup, there is always two or three to choose from (the hot and sour soup is very good). They also have some slightly "nicer" items like bacon-wrapped shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp, crabs legs and stuffed clams. The salad bar isn't huge but there are enough items to assemble a decently varied veggie creation (and they have some very respectable peel-and-eat shrimp on the salad bar too). As you would expect, they have a small selection of sushi - 3 or 4 kinds of rolls, a couple of types of sashimi - but, as you would also expect, it isn't great, and is best avoided. Desserts consist of a dozen or so cookies/cakes which aren't going to win any awards but a few are actually quite yummy, also jello cubes, fresh fruit, a few freezer-burned ice creams, plus a disgracefully delicious but awful concoction of nilla wafers, vanilla pudding and bananas. Of course, some of the dishes are better than others, but overall, the food is hot, fresh, and the quality of ingredients is MUCH better than you might expect. Kitchen staff keep the buffet boards well-stocked and spotlessly clean. The staff are cute and super friendly, and tables are cleared FAST. The place is immaculately clean, and it has a neat aquarium full of koi carp. So yeah, it's a buffet but it gets 5+ stars from me! ^_^ read more

I give asian buffet an average rating, az not many buffets can stand, from cold food, under cooked food, over cooked food, to not having a vast selection. These are common problems with many buffets, and i have encountered three of them at asian buffet. I will let you mind wonder to figure out what three. For the longest i came here a lot, until they closed their doors twice in a row for the same problem (not saying ), since i have returned one time, and see why i dont visit here alot. As far as Columbus Chinese buffets go (low bar), this is a pretty solid choice. They've been consistent on my 3 or 4 visits. I come primarily for the salt & pepper shrimp. The staff is quick on refills and clearing plates. They have a bottle of sriracha at each table. read more

The food sucks there was nothing good here. The crab legs were like rubber you could not open them. They had turkey it was under cooked a lot and so was prime rib you could not cut it you would have to use a chain saw to cut it . They charge 7.15 for a kid there is nothing on buffet worth it for a little kid. read more

As far as Asian buffets go, this one was fairly typical. There were some areas where they didn't do quite so well in my opinion, like the beef on a stick. However, they did excel in some other areas like the smoked chicken. Whatever they do to make that smoked chicken taste the way it does should never change. Asia Buffet is dangerously close to my house, so it's become a go-to when I want to get out for a quick lunch. It's pretty standard fare. My favorites are the Crab Rangoon and Mushroom Chicken. The soups are good as is most everything else I've tried. I tend to skip over the pizza, smiley potatoes and the like. They do have a menu, but I've never seen anyone order from it. The buffet is also available to go. The service has always been great (even by non-buffet standards) and the price is right (under $10 with drink). I can't say it's the best Chinese food I've ever had, like some have said, but it's definitely not the worst. The person who commented re: the folks refilling the buffet is spot-on, so try not to get in their way. :) All in all, this is a pretty decent spot for a cheap, quick lunch. read more

It was good, went for my second time and it was better then the first time. Food was warm but not hot, but that's what you get at most buffets. The service was nice our waiter frequently check on us and gave us refills on our drinks. The place was clean and looked well cared for. very cheap under ten dollars a person. I have been coming to this buffet since it opened. Recently, I had stopped dining in because it's usually overcrowded with trashy people.. and the servers are less than pleasent. They hover over you after they pass you the check and swoop right in the second you leave the table. If I recieve my check and decide to grab another plate, I recieve huffy attitudes snd eyerolls. Not cool. It used to be so friendly. The buffet food has gone downhill a bit in taste, but is not terrible. I actually prefer getting carry out items from the menu. The carry out food is FANTASTIC and with huge portions. It''s extremely fresh and miles above the buffet food. They raised their prices recently for the buffet. There are some things I recommend - honey chicken, peanut butter chicken, general tsos, mac and cheese, egg drop soup. When you walk in you are greeted by the light mummer of diners and water from the entrance fountains. Nice quite and beautiful layout. Kinda servers and great food. Bacon shrimp was awesome! I treated to this buffet a couple weeks ago by a friend. She said she comes all the time. So I thought it was OK. Nothing really special. It did have the basic Americanized Chinese dishes that everyone likes as well as the Appetizers, and stuff for kid. They did have a roast beef that to me was a roast beast because it was TOUGH. I do not know what part of the cow it came from, but I could not even cut it off the big hunk they had on the steam table. They also had a turkey that was a little too crispy or dry looking for me. I got mixed vegetables, lo mein, peanut chicken, some calamari and some crab stuffed mush rooms. I did get some apple turnover and fresh fruit. I am glad my friend paid for it. Because other wise I would have been a little disappointed because it was a little high for the service and atmosphere. It was kind of crowded and noisy. There were many large Hispanic families there and the children were very unruly. This may sound a little prejudice but do people know how to teach children how to act in public any more, even teach simple manners. I know all cultures have some form of teaching, or they used to. One kid stepped on my foot and looked at me like it was my fault. Then people just grab food half using tongs and such. YUCK. Oh well, I do not think I will be going there again. Every single one with its MSGish goodness. The dumplings with soy-sesame sauce was especially delocious. The wait staff is very attentive with drink refills. I'm not really a fan of chinese buffets, but in a pinch its okay. I've been here at least 10 times and it's been just mediocre at best. The last two times, today included, its been absolutely awful. Embarrassingly bad. The lunch cut off is 3, but coming today at 3:30, nothing was fresh at all. Unedible pieces of mystery chicken that's cold.....rubbery, undercooked mystery "beef"....cold, soggy, old noodles....smelly seafood.....
