Yum!! The meal was so refreshing! I'm generally more nutritionally efficient so prioritized protein but the salad with the salmon was a nice balance! The flavors were all so perfect. I'd definitely come back to because it's really peaceful and they have calming music playing. Nice atmosphere for solo dates too if you're like me and eat out alone sometimes!

My 7 year old daughter and I walked into Wild Ginger for the first time this evening. When we sat down, she said "I give this place 5-stars. The music sounds French. It was just nice dinner music. Our server was very attentive and gave us suggestions. We enjoyed the General Tso's Chicken -Not Spicy (because even mild has a little spice). It was delicious and possibly the best General Tso's Iwe've ever eaten. We also ordered the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Rock and Roll. I preferred the Rock and Roll. My daughter tried both rolls but didn't care for either. I'm just proud that she tried something different.

Wild Ginger is one of the better rated Asian restaurants on the west side of Columbus, so we gave it a try for lunch when we were in the area. They have a huge menu, including lunch specials from 11am-3pm Monday through Saturday. I tried the lunch portion of the wok-glazed ginger sauce with chicken. Lunch specials come with miso soup or salad and white or brown rice, so I went with the house salad and brown rice with mine. My SO got the wonton soup and the two roll special for $15, electing to try the crunchy California and shrimp tempura rolls. The food was ready quickly, and the portions were much bigger than I'd expect for the typical lunch entree. My wok-glazed ginger chicken was alright, and loaded with vegetables. In hindsight, I would've tried a different sauce. My SO really enjoyed the wonton soup and sushi though, so I'm splitting the difference and giving Wild Ginger 4 stars.

Came back for dinner the other. And it was crowded but we got seated within 10 minutes. I love their shrimp tempura roll and I also got their pad Thai. It was so flavorful and the portion was very big!

This was a disappointing outing. Food did not live up to expectations at all. House salads were drowning in dressing. Sushi did not taste very fresh. Both Sichuan and Kung Pao chicken entrees had rubbery, flavorless chicken. Fried rice was also very bland. Maybe it was an off night, but would not be back to find out.

Everyone enjoyed their different entrees & apps of spring rolls & edamame. Everything was fresh and tasty, but sauces can overwhelm main ingredients. Entrees include soup or salad with too much ginger dressing. Lots of sushi options. The service was great on a busy Saturday evening. All staff and manager were friendly and welcoming. Would come back.

My wife and I were slightly overwhelmed with the selection of restaurants to pick from in this part of Columbus while passing through on our drive to the west coast. After checking Yelp, we selected Wild Ginger for dinner and we're very happy we did. On the outside, it looks like any other restaurant in your typical strip shopping center but there is a vestibule you pass through to enter another world. The interior is very warm, refined and up scale. The folks working here are super friendly and it starts from the moment you pass through their doors. We got a comfortable booth across from their full service bar that I don't think was open to sit at. It was a convenient spot to stage the plethora of carry out orders they processed. Our server was awesome. She helped us navigate their extensive menu of several styles of Asian food. My wife ordered chicken Szechuan with white rice and I opted for beef Szechuan with fried rice. Our entrees came with choice of soup and we both picked Hot and Sour based on our server's suggestion. She was spot on as it was very delicious. We both polished it off. Our entrees showed up shortly thereafter. Both were served temperature hot and spicy hot. I'd recommend backing off a notch on the spiciness unless you like it really hot. It is kinda funny how we both started sweating as we were eating it. The rice was served in a side bowl to easily mix in and help tone it down. All in all we were very happy with our choice to dine here. Everything was great and I have no suggestions on anything to improve. The only thing I'd do differently is order one entree to share as the portions were very generous and we couldn't take any back to the hotel with us.

I highly recommend the yellowtail jalapeño. (not pictured here) The sushi taste fresh and it's tasty. The respectful and polite staff made my personal experience even better.

We were the only ones in the restaurant bedides a bar tender and hostess. The grill was immediately turned on but they asked us to wait 10 minutes to see if anyone else would arrive. We agreed, placed our order and received our salad. The restaurant was bright, open and clean. This is our first visit. The ginger dressing was very mild, heavy on the Mayo and thin. Yet still very good. Our chef arrived a few minutes later and my husband's fried rice was the first item prepared. We both agreed it was excellent. Our chef's mastery if the twirling utensils was fun to watch! The salmon was heavily seasoned but delicious and still pink inside; just how I like it! Hubby's shrimp was lightly seasoned and delicious. Food was spot on, service was great and we were happy. Negatives: Egg yolk sauce rasted more like a fried egg not the artery clogging butter and egg yolk rich yumminess we were expecting. Sticky floors: As I was leaving the table, I noticed my shoes were really stinking to the floors. I stopped in the restroom and the stickiness was much worse. I noticed that the walls are stained black for the first 3 inches off the floor telling me they have been mopped using dirty water over and over again. The person mopping slops that dirty water against the edge of the floor/wall. That stain also appeared in the front entry. Other than the floor, the bathroom was fairly clean. We would return next time we travel to this side of town.

And for 4 people it was only $125 that includes 3 alcoholic drinks. I had the veggie dinner, they had the shrimp, the steak and just fried rice and salad. The seaweed salad was really worth trying. I would definitely be coming back. Thanks for a a wonderful experience.

Other people praise the sushi burrito so I got that. They make it right there in front of you, and you can choose the sushi (or beef.) I also got an Ohio roll, crab and cream cheese, etc., which they have prepackaged along with other things that look like the sushi you could get it a grocery store. It was also pretty good, and, surprisingly, reasonably priced. And a beef bowl, again made in front of you, with whatever sauce and veggies you want. Again, tasty, filling, possibly even healthy. Don't worry, I didn't eat it all at once. I had a little before work, and then the rest for lunch and breaks at work. Good quality, good flavor, decent prices, friendly service, and convenient. We spent $230 (w/ tip) and it was worth every penny. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in the city. We passed by this place multiple times on our way elsewhere. We're Mario fans, so the name Yoshi caught our eye, but the cramped strip mall exterior doesn't exactly scream culinary dream. We decided to take a chance, and let me just say--wow. It's an intimate space with just a few tables and an 8-10 seat sushi bar. We didn't have reservations (make one, they fill up fast) but managed to snag seats at the bar. The service immediately stood out. We had better attention here than at some upscale steakhouses--glasses never went empty, and their menu suggestions were spot on. One minor heads-up: at the sushi bar, staff sometimes walk behind you to talk to the chefs, which can be a bit distracting. For starters, we grabbed the gyoza and asked for a standout small plate. They pointed us to the beef tongue. It arrived hot with shredded onions and spicy mustard, delivering a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a deep, beefy richness. The gyoza was equally flawless. Instead of the overly chewy or burnt wrappers you find at most spots, these had a delicate, golden-brown sear with an intensely savory, garlicky umami filling. We paired this with Sayuri sake, a creamy, unfiltered pour that perfectly balanced sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Since we love nigiri, we ordered a spread: tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, sweet shrimp, and Japanese scallop, plus a salmon/avocado roll. The cuts were impeccably sourced and practically dissolved on the tongue. You rarely find this level of consistency. Just a heads up--they prepare it the traditional way, meaning there is a dab of wasabi tucked directly under the fish. We also tried the Wagyu A-5 roll. It's about as "meat and potatoes" as a roll can get: steak, carrots, asparagus, and rice. The seared Wagyu fat melted instantly, creating a decadent, buttery glaze over the crisp vegetables. It's one of those rare foods that genuinely forces you to pause after each bite. At $40, it was 100% worth it. I can't say enough about this experience. Next time, we're leveling up to the fatty tuna and Wagyu experience on their special menu. That's the exact culinary peak we've been looking for, and incredibly, it's tucked inside a suburban strip mall. Absolutely brilliant.

All very impressive. Not too busy on Friday at 11:30 am but it got busier. Service for drinks was very attentive but almost everyone i saw just got water. I asked about Japanese drinks and the waiter said we go to the front and grab those out of a fridge. On to the food. I started with the sushi of which there was a very large selection of both sashimi and sushi rolls, including several different toppings. I was bitterly disappointed that the taste of the sushi was not good. In fact, I could not even eat it except for the fried items which were good, although not really hot. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I did stuff a couple pieces of sushi in a napkin so that it didn't look so wasteful but really I could not eat it. Unfortunately this was my daughter's first time trying sushi so still not sure if she likes it. Onto the other hot dishes, the Asian food such as general Tso chicken, chicken with mushrooms, and beef with peppers was all very good. However, the fried rice just had some color and onion in it, no egg, no carrots, no peas. And the noodles were very basic but edible. The spring roll was very mushy again could not finish that. At this point, I was kind of over trying to find things that I liked and decided to end with some ice cream. There were just little cups of ice cream three different flavors and this was honestly the best part of my meal. My daughter tried three little cakes and she said they were excellent. I'm not sure about the salads and the fried American foods they had but overall I would just say the quality wasn't something I would go back for. There were people that had been there before, seemed like regulars and even had reward card to punch so maybe certain palletes enjoy it. I do think that the Asian protein dishes were the best part for me but not worth a return trip.

It's not that the food is bad per se...but it's not good, especially for the price. For instance, we were served only two banchan - kimchi and gamja bokkeum that tasted deep fried rather than braised. At other Korean restaurants in Columbus, I've gotten up to nine banchan. The seafood pancake, which cost a startling $18-$19, was decently crispy but not particularly generous with the fillings. The jajangmyeon was straight up not good. I've tried making jajangmyeon at home a few times and it's never turned out well; somehow the sauce is just missing an extra...something...that only seems to come through in restaurant jajangmyeon. Bonsai's sauce tasted like the sauce I made at home: simultaneously too bitter and too bland. Most irredeemable for me though, was the soggy texture of the noodles. The only dish that I enjoyed was the kimchi dolsot...but it's also the easiest to make so... In the past, I've been okay with Bonsai's steeper prices and white clientele. The food was worth it to me!
