Sesame Chicken - swimming in sauce and chicken pieces were tough to chew. The Hot & Sour soup was hot. No taste with whole button mushrooms. There was little else in there and no flavor - the liquid looked like backup from the kitchen sink! If I wanted noodles for the soup $1.50 - geez never ever was asked to pay for noodles. I am compiling a DNR ( Do Not Return, not a Do Not Resuscitate ) list for the ubiquitous presence of intolerable take out Chinese joints. I am sad to say this place easily makes the long list. Of course, I ordered take out by entering the premises and was greeted by the usual greasy smell that infects most Chinese take out joints in this area ( it's not unique to this region but is pervasive in Chinese take out joints) I placed my order after entering. The person who took my order was a native English speaker so, communication issues should not exist. I told the gentleman what I wanted and he repeated the order back to me verbatim and correctly. I paid and waited a few minutes. When I arrived at my car, I noted that it was odd for steamed dumplings to be packaged in a red, insulated, aluminized bag. When I arrived at my destination to start eating, I discovered that I received fried wontons instead of the steamed dumplings I ordered. Fine....I could live with this, however, the fried wontons were awful. They were over cooked and very tough...think of chewing on hot cement. My main dishes, which I ordered with the anticipation of providing me with 2 dinners and a lunch, were highly undesirable. Sesame chicken was a small portion and sickeningly sweet and utilized what I characterize as frozen chicken tenders. A chicken and vegetable dish was 95% vegetable and, by deduction, lacking chicken. I'm exhausted trying to find decent Americanized Chinese food in the Syracuse area. read more

Ok, in town for the weekend, and was in the mood for some Chinese takeout. I called my regular spot but remembered they were closed for a month to take a trip back to China. I heard this place was good, so I gave it a shot. Called my order in and on my way I went. The order was ready when we arrived and everything was correct, so that was good. No fresh hot mustard, just packets so that was a little bit of a bummer but not the end of the world. So, we got a lot for $50 so prices were good. Now, for the food. Egg rolls were very good if a little slimmer than normal but very tasty and not greasy whatsoever. Won ton soup, excellent but missing pork strips. Shrimp toast was very good as was the house lo mein. The disappointments were the sweet and sour shrimp and boneless ribs. The batter on the shrimp resulted in hard, crunchy bites. Not good at all. The ribs were a bit tough and too lean. You need a bit of fat to make these melt in your mouth tender. All in all, not bad but not as good as my regular place in B'ville. read more

I'm new to Liverpool and being that Asian food is my favorite i went looking through yelp for an inexpensive takeout place that would deliver (was super tired from moving, definitely did not feel like driving.) Unfortunately this place was just not good. The beef was very mushy and tasted questionable. The lo-mein was super dry, and the vegetables in the hunan=all soggy. The overall taste of everything was not fresh and it all tasted very generic. Each entree was about $10 which is reasonable-when the food is good. In this case it was not. Maybe new cooks, new management, new suppliers? I don't know. I have always given them another chance every few months to see if they have changed (since they were so close to where I worked). One of a few Chinese take out places in Liverpool. We wanted sushi too so I decided to order from Asian Garden. Sushi is decent, but I wasn't expecting much from a take out spot. But you can get three roles for $9, so it was a good choice. Also ordered Schezwan Chicken. This was a delight. Just the right amount of spice. The dish had big pieces of chicken and vegetables unlike others I have gotten where everything is chopped up. This is a good choice for take out. read more

Sesame chicken was like rubber, fried rice was tasteless, and all of it was room temperature at best. The egg roll and teriyaki steak was ok very thin piece of meat and not much to right home about. I have made several orders for delivery, and have been disappointed every time. The food is okay, nothing spectacular. But there are multiple entries to my building, and I ask them to call me when they get here to meet them so I don't bother other people in my building, and they never call. This past time was the first I received a detailed receipt which showed I was getting billed for delivery; on the menu it says free delivery under 5 miles. Who knows how long I was getting billed for that!! I called and asked about it, and they responded saying I was over the 5 mile mark, I GPSed it from my iphone and showed I am 4.6 miles from the store. Not impressed with the scamming. weve tried this place 3 times since theyve opened here. every time we have been disappointed and this time, we will never come back . the staff and service was great! however the food is a different story. our first few orders would taste smokey or burnt... not a pleasant flavor but still edible. this time we ordered the pepper beef and chicken with black bean and they were completely inedible. the meats were mush, the vegetables tasted rotten and were mushy and worst of all EVERYTHING had a foul fishy flavor/aroma to it. it nearly made us sick since we dont eat fish/seafood it was so potent. we really tried to like this place but enough is enough. i would not recommend anyone to this place if they want chinese food. in my opinion, this is one of the worst chinese take out places we have ever eaten. it really is a shame since the staff is so nice. read more
