Lesson learned not to order thai food in Chinese restaurant. The pad thai I ordered is all chopped and it tastes just sweet and bland. I will never ever order this from here. Another dish, shrimp with lobster sauce was okay. There were enough shrimps in it. Depends on the dish you order, you will like it so much or you will be disappointed here! My family ordered takeout from this location, twice. Sadly, the food is truly mediocre at best. Anything with breaded chicken will resemble a grocery store frozen dinner. There is a serious lack of flavor in every single dish we tried. As a family of 4, we spent $70 each time we ordered. The quality of the food does not match the cost. When deciding where to order food from this is always our favorite and first pick! Sometimes when calling it does take a minute if they're busy to get through to their hostess they don't have call waiting so if the lines busy just keep trying! Everyone I have talked to is always very nice and knowledgeable about their menu. My order has always came out correct and hot. Pick up is a quick and has always been ready on time if not a little sooner! I love the Asian Grill! It's my favorite to go by because it's near my house and they have a great menu. I am always welcomed by a smile. The food is fresh. I enjoy their vegetable gyoza's and vegetable shrimp spring rolls. The food is always at a great temperature and appears to be cooked as ordered. They also have really great portion sizes. Customer service is also very good. The staff is always friendly and greets customers. I've observed the one of the owners speak to customers and even remember their my name or favorite items to order. Asian Grill is in the shopping center near the 24 hour fitness and a pizza restaurant. I would recommended Asian Grill because it is authentic fresh cuisine. MONUMENTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!! First time we tried this restaurant based on a recommendation. Picked up an order with won ton soup, egg roll, crab rangoon, scallops with garlic sauce and pineapple chicken. We selected fried rice with each main dish. One of the worst culinary experienced in my 68 year lifetime. We placed the order online and when we went to pick up the food, there was a $0.60 higher price being charged. They blamed it on their own website and refused to honor the lower price. It was not the minor price discrepancy but the principal of not standing behind their own error. I turned to my wife and said the food better be exception since this already left a sour taste. None of the food had flavor or was pleasing to the palate. The scallops were rubbery, We were astonished to open the fried rice and find that it was plain. No vegetables and no meat in the fried rice; just rice!!! Unless we hit this restaurant on a bad day, I cannot imagine how anyone could give this a high rating. My wife and I would like to know what we are missing. We ate a little of the food because it was late and we needed to have dinner. Then we threw out all of the leftovers. read more

A little disappointed. Tried to order on line, didn't work so called and they readily took my order. Order ready on time and staff were nice and pleasant. Got home, fried pot stickers were decent, fried rice just bland with nothing added, just rice that had no flavor. Kung Pao chicken was really small pieces of battered fried chicken but mainly celery and bell peppers. Sauce was just ok I had house special egg foo young which had some pork in it that was rather tough and chewy. Brown gravy had almost no flavor. We've been in Waxhaw for 11 years and have tried EVERY Chinese restaurant in the area. We FINALLY have a favorite! We ordered several dishes to share and we loved everything. The ingredients were all very fresh, the servings were generous, and the service was very friendly. My only minor complaint (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is the fried rice....it was dry and bland. It was fine with other items mixed in, but (in my opinion) fried rice should be able to stand on it's own. I do wonder if the rice is different if it's ordered by itself than when it comes as the complimentary side with an entree. First time there last night... food was good, price was reasonable ...but I did not get the fabulous service that everyone else has gone on about. We got our drinks but they were brought to our table quickly and the kids were not given straws - I couldn't make eye contact with anyone and finally they just took the lids off and drank- happy to report that there were no spills despite this. A table seated after us got their food before us (and we ordered simple dishes). Our wait for food was long enough that the kids were complaining but overall wasn't a bad experience and I'd be willing to go again. read more

The staff was friendly and was happy to see that they had face mask and hand sanitizer to use. Ordered General Tso' , chicken and broccoli, and pork lo mein. Food was fresh and delicious. I ordered late night a few weeks back and the woman who owns the place was very nice. I felt like the customer service is there. I ordered a noodle soup dish and honestly, I won't order again. I am quite fond of the Bang Bang Chicken, General's White Chicken, Fantasy Shrimp, Black Pepper Chicken, and the Teriyaki Chicken appetizer. I am giving this rating for the bad treatment I received on my last visit at the Asian Grill. I purchased Seafood Lo Main on Saturday July 31,2021. When I got home and started to eat I notice there were no scallops in my dish. I called and was given a credit for another Seafood Lo Main. On Monday August 2nd I placed my order for the Seafood Lo Main. When I arrived to pick up my order I was told by a young lady who works there that they always check their orders and they have cameras. I told her that everyone makes mistakes and I suggest she check her cameras before insinuating that a customer is lying. Best Chinese food in Waxhaw! This place is a short walk from where I walk, so I eat here a lot on my lunch break! They are always very prompt, they always have my food ready in under 15 minutes and they are just really nice people. My favorites to get are either sesame chicken or chicken and broccoli and I would highly recommend either one! Good and fresh flavors, and they give you good size portions. The restaurant itself is cozy and clean, but they always manage to find you a table even when they are slammed. Great place, highly recommend! read more
