What a great addition to the area. A large selection of freshly made food, bright eating area environment, friendly staff and large selections of foods. We ordered the bigger plate menu, 3 choices with 1 side. So I got the mushroom chicken, orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp. We watched it grow out of the bare earth and waited to visit until the "new restaurant" crush lessened. We were familiar with Panda, as it is popular on the West Coast. Seeing the always full parking lot, we anticipated parking on the adjacent road, but were surprised to find that the interior seating offered a lot of empty tables. Apparently, take-away is a huge part of their business. Very well organized menu, you order a single item bowl or a two or three item plate. Ala carte entrees and other "bundles" or ways to order are offered. You line up to pass by the hot line. You can read about the entrees from the posted board, or walk by to look at the items. There are regular, large and I think family sizes. Your server will put on your starch: plain white rice, fried rice or chow mein noodles. THAT will be half of your order. Then point to or tell which of the entrees you want. One, two or three entree choices. Drinks are fountain or bottled/canned. Pay and find a place to eat. Your order will be in take-away form, foam container and bundled plastic utensils with a napkin. Years ago, these guys used to rock and their food was great. They still serve up the food and a reasonable amount of time. It's just not as tasty and you get the feeling you just want you to get out of there after you order your food so you're not too comfortable staying there. I've been to the Indian Land location three times since they opened. Each time progressively worse than the time before. The first two visits were within 1 month of the location opening. Both were disappointing. However, recognizing that they were newly opened, I thought I'd wait awhile before posting a review. Tonight was my third, and likely last, visit to this location. Upon arriving, the place was not very busy, with most of the (dirty) tables open. My wife and I ordered our food and paid. After finding the cleanest table we could, we sat, and my wife began to eat. I went to the drink station to get sweet tea. The sweet tea was empty. Although, it took them until after we were done eating to make more, this in itself was not an issue, but part of the bigger issue which is the lack of management at this restaurant. My observations: Almost all tables needed to be wiped down, no sweet tea, and the garbage can was overflowing with trash. A customer should never have to wipe down a dirty table. Management should have an assigned team member monitoring this and all other facets of the dining area. Keep in mind, they were not crazy busy and definitely had time and manpower to take care of the restaurant better. They certainly had time to chit-chat. The worst part of the experience is that the food was not good quality. For the money they charge, they fall well short of delivering quality food or a good dining experience. I am basing this on my experiences at other Panda Express locations. If an establishment falls short in these areas, what are you paying for? My sincere message to the owners and/or management group: Hire competent, driven and engaged management, pay them well enough to care, and straighten this out or you'll likely not be open very long. If you are, you'll definitely not be as profitable as you should be at this location. As it stands, if mediocre is your thing, you've nailed it. read more

The two chicken dishes with rice were rubbery and horrendous. However the shrimp with veg was very tasted and cooked perfectly.

I'm happy to see a new restaurant in the area. I've only eaten at one other Panda Express and it was a long time ago so I wasn't sure what to expect. We got the family meal which was enough for five of us. The price was reasonable at $35. We ordered online and picked up through the drive thru. Unfortunately, even after asking the young man at the drive thru if everything was in the box, part of our order was still missing. We ended up turning around and having to go inside. Overall, I'm sure they're still working everything out since they're new. Everyone agreed the food was ok. It wasn't fantastic and it wasn't terrible, it was just mediocre. This is such a great new fast food restaurant addition to our local area. We have been going every week since they opened and every time we go it has been amazing! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly to their guests. They are patient with each guest when they are trying to decide which food items to choose for their meal. The numerous food selections are impressive and very fresh and appealing. The manager, Levy, she is fabulous! She has accomplished a superb job handling this new staff, creating a pleasant eating experience, maintained an efficient and smooth transition from the customer walking in, selecting their preferred food choices, staff preparing their meal choices and checking out with a pleasant appreciation for your purchase at this restaurant from day one.
