    Spring Rolls

Asian Kitchen 1 - Prunedale, California. Across the way from Stevie's Restaurant in the Prunetree Shopping Center. Recently opened. Family run operation from the San Jose. They are doing both mostly Chinese Food with a few Vietnamese phö soups and fresh shrimp spring rolls. Which is pretty much what I ordered. They ran out of basil and swapped it out with cilantro. The beef broth was really good. The service was good and Seated promptly. The tea was interesting as it came in a paper cup instead of a regular ceramic cup or teapot & cup. The spring roll were large and tasty with a pre package sauce. The restaurant looks like it was remodel with nice Asian accents. Note: Closed on Mondays. I am looking to go back to try the Chinese food menu.

Drove 30 mins for Chinese and it did not disappoint. Will gladly make the drive again. Food was delicious and flavorful. Loan's Service was outstanding and so welcoming.

I'm not from the area but I cam down to visit some friends for the weekend. We decided to come to Asian Kitchen 1 for lunch and I must say the food here is very delicious. Though Chinese food consists a lot of oil, this place makes their food w just the perfect amount of oil. Not too much and not too little. After eating here it didn't made me feel icky like the other Chinese food places I've been to. 10/10. Food wise: my favorite was the WONTON SOUP!!! Wonton soup was spectacular along with Walnut shrimp. Love their stir fried noodles also!! Drinks: BOBA!! They had boba milk tea here and it was delightful with our meal :)!! Overall I had an amazing time here thanks to the Owner, Lo Ann, and Rocco! LoAnn was very nice and welcoming. Rocco was a great server and made our experience even more enjoyable

Fast to go and splendid food. Caring service. Seems to be under new ownership and it shows!

Combo plate with chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork. Side order of beef and broccoli!

Heard about the buzz on the new owners of Asian Kitchen! Decided to give it a try myself by ordering a combo plate with all the goodies! I got a chicken chow mein combo with sweet and sour pork and a side of the beef and broccoli. The vegetables tasted fresh and the meat beef was amazingly tender!

Needed something super quick before my next work session! I wasn't feeling anything "fast foodie"…read morerelated and have been wanting to increase my protein intake sooo.. ofc I naturally went for Teriyaki Madness! Did I need or want the extra veggies with the rice? Nahh.. i'm particular in how my veggies are cooked. But, just the teriyaki chicken with rice in a junior bowl was enough to fulfill my lunch slump hunger! I didn't even need the extra sauce it comes with! Ooh! a tip on adding veggies though that I think would be amazing IF they had shredded lettuce as a veggie side since it would soak up that yummy teriyaki sauce! Teriyaki madness, ya feel me on that? Lol not sure if that's already a thing here~ Definitely go here for that quick, eatery vibe! they have some other proteins like salmon, tofu, steak.. yup definitely coming here for that protein fix- and if i'm feeling wild.. maaaybe adding veggies next time hehe.

Fish You Were Here A…read moreJapanese fusion fish-centric restaurant located in Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, it has had the same owners since 1975, when it was FKA "Shabu Shabu" before receiving its current moniker in 1993. The Good: * We loved the location--down a set of stairs into a dimly lit, cozy space. * And speaking of cozy spaces, we love that every table is its own private booth. Nothing is more annoying than having to dine with strangers just inches away, in my opinion. * Service was, uhhh, interesting but passable. We actually liked the dude who was following up behind our server, as he seemed like a really cool guy with definite opinions on the food. * Make sure you order their unique take on chips and salsa! Their fried wonton wrappers paired with a deliciously unique ginger pico de gallo were fantastic. * The Fried Fish Cakes (a daily special, so they might not always be on the menu) were delicious and full of flavor. * We both loved our entrées; my Black Bean Halibut was cooked perfectly--tender and flaky--and I loved the funky fermented black bean sauce. Carissa is still talking about her Almond Sea Bass weeks later, so 'nuff said. * The Warm Tempura Banana Sundae was a bit odd but worked in a weird way. We normally skip dessert unless it's something unique, and this certainly fit the bill! The Meh: * Reservations are handled the old-fashioned way: via telephone. * No outdoor dining. The Ugly: * While being underground is part of their charm, as mentioned above, it is definitely not ADA-compliant. So if you or anyone in your party has difficulty traversing stairs, this probably isn't the place for you. Conclusion: Fantastic date-night spot with great service, ambiance, and food. Highly recommended.

The décor and ambiance is so cool. Plus since we arrive early, we were pretty much alone for most of our meal. And the service was very good. The food was unique and tasty. The chips and salsa were an interesting take and I'm glad John ordered it. I ordered the almost sea bass and it's a dish that I continued to think about for hours and days afterwards. It was so good and interesting! I tried John's dish but mine was far superior. Another highly recommended restaurant!

The…read morestaff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the outdoor patio was the perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy the Carmel atmosphere. We started with the Caprese salad, which was the perfect size for sharing between two people. To drink, I ordered a glass of Merlot while my partner enjoyed a sangria. The pours were generous and definitely appreciated! For our entrées, we ordered the shrimp Thai curry and the Gyro platter, both of which were flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. I debated a few dishes until the server let me know that the owner is from Thailand and this was her own recipe. It was amazing! The service was also exceptional throughout the entire course of the meal. We had several different team members checking on us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of. Going back to the wine pours...we closed our tab but because of the holiday pour we stayed for another round of drinks for dessert! Unfortunately, we didn't have room or time for dessert ( because we had wine for dessert ;) , but after hearing great things about it, the key lime pie is already at the top of our list for next time. This place feels like a hidden gem, and if we find ourselves back in Carmel, we'll absolutely be returning.

The patio ambiance is very nice, but other than that, the food was so basic and mediocre with not a lot of taste. I don't understand why this cafe is on so many vegetarian guides when the veggie options are actually kind of limited (hummus, lentil soup, etc.) and not very good. I don't understand the hype. Seems like other restaurants in Carmel have way more interesting and tasty vegetarian options.
