The food was really great, and warm, I'm pretty sure they have sushi. Mostly everything was self serve, the workers are nice and polite. The environment was really well, they have pretty good decorations, and have tvs. The bathroom and floors were clean. They even have dessert which is amazing, I would recommend this to people who are craving any type of asian food.

I came for the lunch buffet, which was around $17 after tax. There is a good amount of selection! I risked it and tried the sushi and my stomach was not upset afterwards. I like their chicken On a stick, and seaweed salad. The service was fast and friendly. Inside was clean.

I liked their mongolian grill a lot. You can grab raw ingredients and they will grill all of it for you fresh. I also liked their sushi quite a bit. They had a wide selection which I appreciated but didn't get to try all of it. Their dessert bar was quite extensive and I liked their cake and mango jello from there. The service was quick, they came around a lot to pick up plates and they were always nice. The buffet area was a bit overstimulating because there were just so many options but the seating area was nice and felt clean.

This is not my first time here, and it's definitely not my last! Great food and even better customer service!! This is your very fast-paced, quickly set buffet. All the normal quisine would expect and plus sushi and Mongolian Grill with steaks after 3:30 pm. The restaurant was amazingly clean, as was the bathroom. The server bussed our table very frequently our drinks were not ever empty. The food was turned over very quickly. Everything was quite fresh and seasoned very well! Their sushi bar seemed to be replaced very frequently. The person was actively making it behind the area when we were here for our visit. I believe my favorite items were the chicken dumplings and egg rolls. The dumplings were very tasty and crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The egg rolls were jist perfectly stuffed with cabbage, noodles, chicken, and veggies, then fried to perfection. My husband really enjoys sea food, and since I have an allergy, I can bring him here to get good and tasty sea food from crabs to shrimp to fish as well. I will be coming back again!

Our family usually go here for weekend dinners! We love Asian Star Super Buffet because it's affordable, casual, and the food selection is pretty good. For three adults and two kids, our bill was $80.04 including one drink, which is pretty reasonable for the amount of food. We always tip in cash to show our appreciation for the staff! Some of my favorite dishes are the fried pork, Singapore noodles, salmon sushi, avocado rolls, honey shrimp, mushrooms, and seaweed salad. Even though it's usually busy with big groups and parties, the wait is never too long. The only things I'd say need improvement are the seasoning on the Mongolian beef. It can be a bit bland. Sometimes there's a bit of sand in the clams. But overall, we are usually satisfied with their dinner and price.

The quality of the food is not what it use to be. The egg drop soup was oily and lacked taste. They only offer one fried rice now. The service was still good. Their selection in their buffet area and stir fry area is smaller than before. I payed $20. for a to go plate and they refused to stamp my points card. Which, I thought was a disrespect to the customers. We are still paying for our to go meals stuffed into a regular sized container. That's another story.

Nothing to write about. Everything was mediocre. Just another buffet. They did have a Mongolian wok which was ok. Doubt we'll be back.

However, you need to make a reservation, if you plan on coming for a Friday night dinner though. The restaurant and parking lot is usually packed and for good reason. It's been 25 years since we walked the streets of Tokyo, but the freshness here brings me back to those days. I'm sure you will agree that not only will you get amazing service, but will also get to experience one of the premier sushi places in town. It's great for meeting with friends, as the staff will not rush you at all. For tonight's adventure, we ordered a variety of delicious items to share among the other couple, family style. The Spicy Edamame is a good starter. It's tasty and light enough to get the taste buds fired up for what was about to come next. Since the sushi chef was backed up a bit, having the Pan Roasted Airline Chicken arrive early was a fantastic way to take flight. With its mouth watering chicken, noodles and veggies, it's a must. If you want to increase the heat somewhat, dip the chicken into some wasabi and soy sauce. When the rolls finally started picking and rolling in, The Duncan Roll, was money as is Timmy's bank shot off the glass. The Blue Tuna roll left me anyways but blue and was one of my favorites. The grilled octopus was so good, that it made me second guess if Ursula was indeed, a bad witch. Overall, the choice selections are very wide, and you literally can't miss on any of them. If you are overwhelmed trying to choose, then ask the waiter to help guide your selections. Hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did and till next time, Mata ne!

We ordered the rock 'n' roll sushi roll, several à la carte tempura items, grilled tenderloin yakitori, and banana eggroll for dessert. The rock 'n' roll sushi roll was absolutely delicious. I do caution you when you order the tempura à la carte items that they are very large portions. But the tempura is crispy and well cooked. The grilled tenderloin yakitori was also a hit. Even though we were absolutely stuffed, the waiter recommended the banana eggroll for dessert so of course we had to try it. The banana eggroll was decent, but the ice cream stole the show. The server told us it was a banana walnut ice cream, and it was truly delicious.

Fast forward almost 3 yrs later and we have found some true sushi gems here. At the top of my list now is Godai after our first visit last night. I saw a post by a local SATX Foodie and even then I had no expectations despite the raving reviews, I always like to try a restaurant and decide for myself. Right when you walk in you're greeted in Japanese which I've always loved because it makes me feel welcome. The aesthetic of the restaurant is very authentic japanese; minimalist with unique touches and details like the hanging round lanterns in the center of the main dining area. The main attraction however, that you can't miss as soon as you walk in is the chef "Korean Cowboy" as he calls himself, working his magic all by himself, carefully and diligently crafting beautiful and delicious sushi. Our server was very nice and attentive. She informed us that it was happy hour and certain drinks and appetizers were half off. We started out order right away. For our appetizers we ordered spicy edamame which was the most unique version I've tried thus far. It had 2 orange slices in the center for flavor and garnish as a chili powder that blended the tangy and spicy flavors and paired perfectly. I loved both the presentation and the taste. We also ordered shishito peppers which were just as tasty. A highlight for me (recently) has been Hamachi Kama (yellowtail collar) I believe it's an uncommon item to order and highly underrated. I learned about it from my husband and anytime we see it on a menu we order it. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Next, we ordered our rolls and nigiri. The rolls we ordered were: the sunny roll and the cherry blossom roll. Both were absolutely delicious. You can instantly taste the quality of fish and experience in the craft of sushi when you've eaten enough sushi in your life. My husband is without a doubt a sushi connoisseur, or the "sushi sensei" as I like to call him. So when we agree on loving a restaurant I know we've discovered a new gem! Our entire order was delightful however, for me, what sets restaurants apart is the ones with the best service and quality of food alike. The chef, "Korean Cowboy" came to our table and said he included some Saba (Mackerel) on the house, he was proud of his craft and said he'd like our opinion. To be honest, I had not had Saba in years because in the past it was very very fishy and I did not enjoy it. This Saba was phenomenal (I'm not getting paid to say this) lol. Chef KC explained to us that Saba has to be "dressed" well in order to taste good. It wasn't good, it was GREAT! It was smoky, soft and melted in my mouth dressed perfectly indeed. I think it's safe to say this is by far my new favorite sushi restaurant and my husband concurs. We will definitely be regulars here for as long as we live in TX! Just fyi, they also offer Omakase as well as many other options like Ramen and Korean dishes. Can't wait to taste and experience it all! Enjoy! SYOY!

Never again. Godai has officially lost our business…read more We had just gotten back from traveling and decided sushi sounded perfect for dinner, so we ordered through Uber Eats to avoid driving. I ordered a spider roll and a California roll, and my wife ordered a shrimp roll. Unfortunately, everything went downhill fast. First, there was zero flexibility with customization. My wife doesn't like masago and wasn't allowed to remove it--she literally had to scrape it off the roll herself. On top of that, the avocado on her roll was brown with hard bumps. It was gross and clearly not fresh. Then there was the packaging. My spider roll, which is always premium-priced, was thrown into a regular to-go box and completely fell apart during delivery--sushi everywhere when we opened it. Meanwhile, the California roll came in a proper sushi tray. Did they run out of containers? It made no sense. Between the lack of customization, poor packaging, and questionable ingredient quality, this experience was incredibly disappointing. Needless to say, this was our last time ordering from here.
