They seemed helpful and told me that I could be seen right away as they accept walk-ins. My husband took the day off to help me due my excessive gum and tooth pain. However between the omg gag odor and the receptionist canceling the *walk-ins* for the day, I would never recommend this dental office. Went to have a broken tooth taken care of in N. Myrtle. Dentist Wouldn't see until I had a cleaning and mouth full of X Rays? I explained I was there for a broken tooth, Nothing else. I went back in 10/23 . I paid with my insurance and balance on care credit . Every Visit I went to Blair said it was all set for money . My husband and I sat down with Blair and we figured our cost to borrow from care credit and what insurance money would that I had . We did all four when doing the pricing . I only needed one done . But I was " talked into getting 4 done ". According to my husband and I we were told all set . Upon leaving on my last visit when getting ready to leave and put my coat on Blair says in front of everybody in office out loud do you want to pay balance on your card credit card ?? I said I don't owe you anything according to our records and conversation. We argued , she cried and I finally tossed my credit card at her and gave it to her to pay the balance . The balance at the time was 4 or 5 hundred and she used my card to pay the balance . Maybe 3 0r 4 months I start getting bills for thousands . I didn't want to call them because I knew she wasnt very good at keeping records or doing her job right . I avoided the place and thought they would find their error . Months later I get a call from a collection company and they are telling me I owe Aspen Dental 4,023.00 !!!! It's all fraud . Another friend he went to get 7 teeth repaired and ended up being told to take all his teeth out . They put in dentures and this poor elderly gentleman went back twice a week for a long time to get them adjusted . Right now he has a bill with care credit to pay and the poor man walks around with no teeth . I have so many horror stories from Aspen Dental . My Biggest mistake I should of got from Blair what she showed us printed in writing . Especially i only went there or needed one crown . Ask on any local town group . Example what's happening in Loris or Conway groups and they will tell you their horror stories . Now I asked for an itemized bill and she said it can only be done by email . This chain of dental clinics should be shut down. It's all about money and financing, taking advantage of those who have the least. My companion's visit, for example. First, a blood pressure reading off the charts which was so high, he would have been in full attack if it were accurate. Then, an exam by a 'Dr.' who could easily pass as an inquisition torture specialist; prodding and pulling at teeth and bridgework in what seemed to be an attempt to dislodge. My guess is so he could charge to replace the broken work. Cost, quickly quoted, from his sugar sweet assistant, was the national debt of most dictatorial nations; even with my insurance. I have insurance. Came in to do a workup of dentures and follow-on Dental Implants. I know my teeth aren't exactly perfect but they are mine and don't cause me pain. The office "hygienist" came in talking loudly (almost screaming). I advised her to be gentle as I've had terrible dental experiences in the past. The hygienist then began measuring my gumline using the tooth probe/pick. She used the sharp tip to basically poke and prod my gumline til she heard me moan. After expressing displeasure four times and asking her to be gentle, she doubled down and continued to see how hard she could poke my gums. I told her I was done. She yelled in a loud voice she would get the doctor. Doctor came and recommended I have my entire mouth of teeth pulled.... good and bad and recommended dentures to the tune of over $28K AFTER insurance. After the doctor left, the "hygienist" came back in and stated in a loud voice that my teeth were "a challenge" and that's why she "called the doctor in." I said I hope you are happy with your victory lap. I have 2 supplemental insurance coverages, the last quote I got was 10K cheaper. Run....don't walk. read more

I had a root scaling and they charged me $1000 for this if they just scheduled me two months later insurance would have covered it. I had a pre written estimate which wasn't nearly that cost. After making appt online and then talking to 3 people, explaining i wanted denture repair, I showed up, went through x-ray and exam, was told they wouldn't do repair because they only do repairs on dentures made by then. The dental assistants are rude particularly Madeline. She basically bullied me by scooting her chair across the room and leaning over me laying down and raising her voice wth her teeth clintched . I had Dr. Mills did a crown and cap on me only 2 years ago. They both fell out. He does shoty work and didn't seem to care . I felt that these teeth replacements should last more than 2 years and when i called to make an appointmemt they said they wouldnt charge me to put them back in as they shouldve lasted better . But Dr. Mills wanted to charge me 240.00 for his mistakes. Also they feel they can yell at you and you are supose to just take it. When i said i don't appreciate how Madeline is talkimg to me Dr. Mills said to bad and he doesn't want to put my teeth back in. It was Friday and they didnt even want to clean my teeth before cementing them back on . That's gross. They were more worried about getting to happy hour and closing than their clients. I have NEVER been to a dental office where you need an "assessment" before they'll give you a cleaning. I was told I have 8 cavities (Not true, given you can feel when they hook a cavity) and that I had the early stages of gum disease and if I didn't do something right away my bones would start eroding. They even sent in a dentist who had gun disease when he was younger to scare me into paying for an expensive treatment. During the price consultation at the end of the visit our consultant was switched from a man to a woman when they realized my husband and I would be discussing prices together. Our consultant started saying very unprofessional things, like how she wonders if she could kill her husband and get away with it (obviously in jest but still an odd line of conversation). I was very uncomfortable with the entire procedure and ultimately declined further treatment to look for a second opinion. read more

Just had the worst experience and made to feel absolutely unimportant and worthless at the Myrtle Beach office. I lost a filling and a piece of a front tooth a week ago. They made the appointment "as soon as they could" a week later, as they advertise dental emergencies. Got there for a 9 am appt. Waited over an hour as people came and went and finally someone asked my name and went to check why I was forgotten about. I get in and the dentist says, "well nothing we are going to do today. We will follow up with a cleaning and go from there another day." So in other words, they forgot about me. Now they didn't have time to do a thing for a painful broken front top tooth. NEVER WILL I EVER RECOMMEND OR RETURN! COMPLETELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I understand that there needs to be other work done however when you advertise and take an appointment for an emergency and that was the understanding from the first phone call, this is absolutely unexcusable! Don't waste your time money or energy and please look elsewhere where it isn't a bunch of young inexperienced chain dentists that aren't in a practice and do not care. Great experience overall! I was looking for someone with SC dental plus coverage would accept and help pay for my wisdom teeth to be removed and Aspen Dental popped up! I got to come in and meet with Mike (who was awesome!) we scheduled for all four wisdom teeth to be taken out, I knew exactly what I was paying, my date and time and instructions on how to prepare in 1 hour. Everything went very smoothly, I arrived, did minimal paperwork. Spoke with the dental aid, the doctor, and asked all the question I needed to and was in an out in about 1.5 hrs. The procedure it self took about 20mins. I would highly recommend Aspen Dental and Dr. Porter for your oral surgery needs. read more

I only got as far as calling and speaking to the receptionist. I was trying to get info about what Insurance plans they may accept and get prices for specific treatment and I had the dental codes. She was rude and did not want to help me. She even said that she didn't know anything about dental codes...however I told her that the Dental plan I had spoke to said to give her the codes so that I could get a idea of prices. Finally she looked up the codes for me and gave me "some" info. I definitely will not go to them based on the way I was treated. Spent thousands of dollars there and they did not provide work promised and then LATER said that the procedure only works for 25% of people...something they NEVER said up-front. Oh, and they cancelled my Saturday appointment on me the week before which had been scheduled months in advance. After talking to someone at the front desk and setting up another appointment, I continued to get calls from their robot dial system saying I had to call to confirm my appointment (which had been cancelled) or I would be charged...or something to that effect. I went to this location for my first appointment using a dental discount plan. They gave me free first appointment and x-rays and I paid for the cleaning with the discount. Everyone was super nice and the office is clean and welcoming. It worked out that I had to wait a little while since there was some issue, but I was kept informed and treated with respect. read more

Worst experience!! The x-ray technician jammed the bitewings in my mouth which hurt a great deal. Then they objected to giving me my 6-month cleaning because they detected gum disease, which was a lie. My teeth and gums are 97% healthy and perfect according to last dentist with over 30 years experience just told me three months prior. Their plan was to get me to believe them and agree to the treatment that would put money in their pockets. While I was waiting in the lobby I heard two other patients that were receiving gum disease treatments which requires several cleanings specified to gum disease versus my basic teeth cleaning. This was already a red flag before I even was seen. Now, I go to Surfside Family Dentistry and I am very satisfied. read more

I needed extensive dental work done and have dealt with numerous people who all have different responsibilities. Every single person exemplified professionalism and friendliness. The work Dr Mills did has me smiling from ear to ear again. Aspen Dental also had the opportunity to prove to me whether they stand by their word and whether they operate with integrity or not. They passed with flying colors. At first it seemed like a normal, functioning dental office with a nice staff. I came in with a broken tooth and severe pain. They scheduled me for an extraction later that week. So later that week I came in and they refused to treat me because my blood pressure was too high, most likely because of the pain. This is the first time my blood pressure has ever been checked at the dentist's office before. So then I had to go to urgent care to have a medical release signed. It is clearly more important to not be a liability than an actual patient who needs immediate treatment. Then I scheduled the tooth extraction for the next day, hoping they can remove it without surgery. I arrive and the dental hygienist immediately points out my skin and makes me feel self-conscious about my psoriasis. The actual dentist comes in and is trying to up-sale other procedures to me like a used car salesman. He barely tries to remove the tooth without surgery before opting for the more expensive procedure. He is very rough, the hygienist is too busy talking to her colleagues and I had many tooth fragments in my mouth when I left. And to put a cherry on top of this terrible and expensive ordeal, they sent me home and told me to take some Advil for the pain. It has been several days and I am still in pain and have to talk a lot for my job. This is not a real dentist office but a scam to make as much money off of patients without any consideration for the actual patient. After calling other dentists around the area, I become fully aware how unorthodox their treatment is. read more

If I could give NO stars, I would. Went for a root canal, and wound up with a butcher job of an extraction that took an hour and a half - pure torture. On top of that, she left a root and piece of tooth, AND hit a nerve, causing numbness in my upper lip and part of my nose. I was told to come back, and given a 4:00 appt. I waited until 5:30 to see the dentist, he took an x-ray and confirmed the problem, but said he didn't have time to fix it, and I would have to come back the next day! Are you kidding me?? This is the WORST place I've ever been to. They don't even have rinse cups at the dental stations. Took my daughter to get her wisdom teeth extracted. The staff was friendly and helpful. The procedure was very fast. HOWEVER, when we made the appointment for the extraction we were told the total cost would be approx $2600.00. Our insurance paid some and we paid the remaining $1800.00 that was our out-of-pocket cost. So, suprise, suprise, on the day of her appointment we were presented with an additional bill of $224.00. What were we supposed to do? We waited over a month to get the appointment, then we're hit with an additional charge for one of her teeth being impacted. read more

I have dental insurance and gave them my information. They said the xrays and first appointment was free. Took a very long time for the dentist to look at me. The hygenist was not so nice. After that, I was sent to the office where they go over the costs. He told me the cost and I asked if that was with insurance. He didn't even know I had insurance! I asked that he just mail or email me the quote and he said he would. After about 2 weeks, I didn't receive anything but an invoice for the xrays and office visit. I called the office and they said they didn't have my insurance information! ugh!!! I gave the information to them again and asked if Trenton (I believe) would send me the quote. She said she would ask him to. I've still not received that. VERY disorganized and I won't be going there again!
