Complete disaster. First of all convinced me that what I asked for is not what I need for. Pushed me through Invisalign that had to take 6 months but then shortened to 2 months for no reason and without explanation. Promised results were never achieved, despite he said that everything looks good now and we can continue to the next steps. During the Invisalign treatment one crown cracked. Failed to replace the crowns, after all the crown that he places damaged 4 other teeth. Said that goes on vacation for 2 weeks and disappeared for 6 weeks posting very questionable photos in his instagram (if I saw this earlier I would never choose his services) and then said that he spent time with the family. Probably I have a different understanding of the family. Imho this doctor should not practice dentistry at all. He is completely uncapable to deliver any kind of acceptable results despite confidently telling you that he will take care of you. Just see my teeth before and after. I spent ~6k, ~1k he returned and created damage for maybe 10k more. What else do you need to know? Front tooth implant fell out thanks to his crowns, which did not fit, but still offered me to install it without explaining consequences of such decision. I honestly writing this message and feel terrible that I trusted this doctor. I hope the Dental Board will review my complain and make a right decision. I do really wish this doctor won't treat anybody the way he treated me. Photos before (all teeth, posterior open bite) and after (-1 implant, posterior open bite, major/severe crack on canine, premolars, molars). After 8 months of complaints and going circles with the Customer Advocate Team I got dismissed by email from Dr. Dickerson who has never seen me in person but flipped the story the way he wanted, omitted and misrepresents the inconvenient facts for his narrative. However costs are not well explained nothing is printed off and everything feels overpriced and not explained and this would be the second time that I've come there in a year for the same concern and left without anything being done to help resolve this concern, but they will definitely recommend cleanings over and over and over again, but they will not fix the concern. Love the dentist at this dental office. Front office, big fat NO... all I can say is you actually might want to do some insurance checking yourself before committing to any procedures. I went in for a couple of small fillings and the dentist saw my partial and said I could use an upgrade so I go to the office manager to get FACTS, details, figures. Office checks insurance and tells me I've got​ great insurance, that I'm covered. Fast forward, I've picked up my new partial and all is well. Until I get a bill. I call and the office Mgr tells me that this was left to be paid. I called the insurance company and was told that if the dental office had checked, they would have been told that I had a partial made 3 years earlier and that they would not cover another for another 2 years. I know it's not our responsibility to make sure we are covered but it will possibly save you from a NIGHTMARE...... so go ahead, do their job if you need to. Well after my extractions were all healed up I went in and got fitted for dentures... Dr Rokita and assistant Lucy were so professional ... so exacting in doing the settings... I felt special... then when finally that done I got my first made dentures... put them in and they fitted like a glove... so comfortable I just knew I'd be able to talk and eat with them... Refusal of the upsell will result in not having your teeth cleaned due to "office policy". They determined I need a $450 antibacterial treatment before they would consider granting my teeth cleaning. Say what??? As other comments state - it felt like a used car sale tactic or time share pitch - just really uncomfortable. If they had taken me in as a client, cleaned my teeth and established trust - I would be more likely to have accepted the diagnosis and treatment. That said - the staff were all very polite and performed their jobs well. But that is not enough to make me want to purchase ocean front property in Arizona. I hope my original Dentist will survive and reopen after the Covid situation is past us. read more

Waste of my time, I had to make an emergency appointment for my daughter who unfortunately had a cavity and abscess addressed. This became a problem on a Sunday while we were on vacation, I immediately took my daughter to get an antibiotic while we were away and scheduled an appointment to have her seen when we returned from vacation. I explained the entire problem to the appointment setter and was set up for an appointment after my daughter had been on antibiotics for a week. The staff saw my daughter, had X-rays done and then told us they didn't have the proper equipment for pediatric patients. So I wasted a set of insurance covered X-rays for no reason as they won't give me a copy and they knowingly wasted my X-ray benefit just to make a buck before googling "pediatric dentist" and handing me a print out of their Google search. And to top it off the staff was extremely rude and judgmental, obviously I feel horrible that my daughter had such a bad cavity and that it got to the point that it did. But it was a back tooth and things happen. It wasn't intentional and with the way the staff acted you would have thought I intentionally caused my daughter pain. I selected Aspen because they're open later, clearly I should have read the reviews first. read more

It took a week to contact them to find out if I was considered a new patient because I haven't been there in a while because they did not answer the phone and the voicemail box was FULL! Then I finally reach someone and schedule an appointment. Went in for there special, Free x-ray and cleaning.. well , they did the X-ray then a quick check of my teeth only to inform me, after telling how nice my teeth are,, that I would need this procedure ( that cost 1500$) before they could impliment my cleaning.. also it came with a 15 minute sales pitch and other pushy sales tactics. . Never received a cleaning, but they sure like to push a lot of papers for you to sign.. complete gimmick, the dentist never even check my teeth for cavities.. Having just moved to Tampa, I set out to find a dentist before I NEEDED one! Aspen Dental seemed like a safe choice as they have offices almost nationwide. I went in for my first appointment. Filled out all the forms and then had X-rays taken....many, many, many X-rays!!!!!The girl was sweet but told me the life story of her 5 yr old's broken arm at daycare....didn't need that. Then into the exam room...hint...when you see a tv monitor, that could mean long wait periods! The dentist was kind, poked around, noting any pockets that could indicate periodontal problems, etc. Then another girl came in, explained the program and what they would do. Inject antibotics in the pockets, clean my teeth and probably cap my front teeth because the fillings were stained and enamel getting thin. Then i was ushered into the office manager's office where she presented the proposed price for the work i needed....$6,000+!!!!!!!!!! I made the appointment to get my teeth cleaned and drove home in tears. I cried the whole time I described my visit to Aspen Dental and my husband said not to worry, I was worth it. I thought about it for a couple of days, became very angry at the possibility of being duped so i called and cancelled the appointment, and searched out another dentist. Guess what? A couple little spots inflamed, replace fillings that are discolored and waaaaaaayyyyy under $ 6000!!!!!! This, my friend, is a cautionary tale....never go with the first opinion! I went in with an infected tooth. I was in pain and swollen. They told me I needed special x-rays and had to pay out of pocket although my insurance covered it. They never gave me an antibiotic and told me to leave. I went to anther location to have the special x-rays, had to go a yet again another location for what was supposed to have been a root canal but ended being just a consultation and had to pay for that. I was eventually told by another dentist that the special x-rays were not needed. I will never step foot in another Aspen Dental again. read more

I went in knowing I hate the dentist, so I had to get the xrays and that was painful, the girl was very sweet, but it hurt. Was told I needed a deep cleaning and the hygienist Osama, said he could do it right then, so I went and dealt with the payment and he was ready for me. He was reassuring explained everything, No Needles, big plus, felt a twinge here and there, not enough to matter. All in all a good experience for a person who Hates the dentist. Do not go here!! Arron at the front desk is terrible. He put me on hold and i finally get disconnected after 5 minutes. I call back and another gentleman answers and transfers me to Aaron witch he Dosent answer and again I'm on hold for almost 5 minutes before it goes to a voice mail. He is awful. I paid for my bridge 2 months ago, they put a temporary bride in my mouth while they sent away for my bridge to get done. I cane back in two weeks they took the temporary out and put my new expensive bridge in my mouth and I leave the dentist office and as I looked at my mouth outside in the sunlight my teeth were different colors. Mind you my bridge is my front 3 teeth. I immediately go back to the dentist they take out my permanate bridge i have to again make a temporary bridge witch they did in a hurry because they Had other patients. It wasn't my fault they got the wrong bridge sent to them. They do the temporary bridge quickly and it loose in my mouth and I can hardly eat because I'm afraid it going to come out or break. Again these are my front teeth. I call back in 2 weeks they say my permanate bridge is still not in and they aren't sure when it will be in. That they will call me when it comes in and than I can make an appointment witch would probably take another week or two to get in to get my permanate bridge. All in the meantime I have paid for this bridge in full. Aspen dental is not worried because they have there money. I on the other hand have a temporary bridge that is loose and gonna break, have no idea when my permanate bridge will come to the office, have no idea when they will have an available appointment , and aaron at the front desk disconnects you or puts you on hold so long that the phone system finally says to leave a message., nor does he call you back! Absolutely terrible! This was there mistake for having the wrong bridge come the first time. But they arnt worried if my temporary bridge is breaking because they already got paid. All they are worried about is the money. Totally unacceptable.. if I ever get this bridge done correctly I will never come back. I wish I didn't have to pay upfront because I would just go to another dentist. So here I sit out a few thousand dollars and a temporary bridge that is loose and breaking and have no idea when my permanate bridge will be ready and if it is going to be correctly done this time. Aspen dental was a suggestion from a co worker so I scheduled an appointment, which was much sooner than I anticipated. From the front desk to the dentist they were compassionate,caring,informative and very,very patient with this nervous Nellie. They worked out a payment plan that fits my needs and is very manageable. Looking to just get cleanings for myself and my boyfriend, we found out we each had a couple cavities. We went back and got them filled and were both in constant pain for a month after. we went back and had them fix them, it's not 6 months later and still in pain. Although the dentists and staff are great there is no way that I can recommend Aspen Dental. I went in for an initial consultation and cost for a full top denture and partial lower denture. They provided a detailed plan that included pages and pages of detail costs by individual procedure. I asked repeatedly if this covered everything. I was assured that it was the final cost including temporaries and final appliances, hygienist visits - everything. They required a large down payment to start the work which I paid. Although I could have arranged paid later for the remainder, I chose to pay the full balance on the second or third visit. Since then I had to pay for additional items from the hygienist - wasn't thrilled but paid it. Today I walked in for what I thought was going to be the impressions for my permanent appliances and they inform me that I have to pay 60% of $700 for the lower partial with the remaining due when it's done. This after repeatedly asking if the initial quote covered everything and verifying repeatedly that I was paid up. Every appointment through this 6 month process I have reverified that there were no additional costs. Even when I got hit with the extra hygienist bill, I asked again that there were no additional costs. Every time they assured me that everything else was covered. So today I'm getting the permanent upper. I will live with the temporary lower until it falls apart or I need to replace for some reason. When it's time - I won't be going back to Aspen Dental for anything (including further hygienist visits). read more

Been having trouble returning a call from office manager. He was very nice and left two voicemails to follow up with me but I had a family emergency that spanned a couple of weeks. Have called back twice... last week was told he was busy and would receive call back. Called again today and was told he's out of office all week but could talk to a different office manager. Was put on hold for 5 minutes.... let's keep in mind I have been trying to reach out to a manager after I decided to try and pursue an appointment for deep cleaning with Aspen Dental... for which I was on hold over 9 minutes when I called to make an appointment at a diff location. Do I call any office back and hope I can make an appointment without being put on hold for a long time? I like that Aspen has different hours so I can visit them before or after work but I call during my work hours and expect it should only take a few minutes to book an appointment. I wish someone would just say, "we don't want you as our patient." read more

Aspen Dental is hands down the best dental office I have ever been to! From the moment I walked in the staff was extremely warm and welcoming. I did not have to wait long for my appointment. My hygienist Shannon gave me the best cleaning I have ever had. Dr. Altman came in after my cleaning and examined my teeth. This examination was very thorough. He was very kind and I also appreciated how respectful and kind he was to staff. There is no question that I will be back and that Aspen Dental and Dr. Altman will be it when I need any type of dental work done. Dr Altman very much in a hurry to get away from the patient. He broke off my front tooth while pulling out an adjacent tooth. No apologies or admission. Just lied and said the tooth was loose, however I had an exam the day before and that tooth clearly was not loose, nor listed for extraction. The office manager Bryan is a POS. At aspen dental the office manager has all the power practically and all you need is a ged and 3 yrs dental experience to be the office manager. Dont believe me, just check Indeed. Just something to think about if you have ever dealt with the office manager at aspen in palm harbor. That place is a joke. Your free exam and xrays, is true. However, be prepared to get your exam done by the hygenist and be prepared for your results, which will be gingivitis or periodontitis and be prepared to spend money after the fact.
