Outstanding work they helped me in the time I really needed it. I was scared and lost about what was going to happen. The best ever!!

I explained to the dental assistant (in the presence of the dentist) that I did NOT want a crown. If the tooth could not be filled, then extract the tooth. They told me my insurance doesn't pay for filling. I call my insurance co. to verify my coverage and was told that I am covered for filling with a $25. copayment. I called VIP for an explanation as to why they told me my insurance would not pay for the filling. I am told I did not get a filling (which I requested), but instead I got what is called a "build up". So my request for extraction if the tooth couldn't be filled was ignored and they did what they wanted to do and bill me for the complete procedure. If I am paying for a service, I expect that exact service. I am very angry. read more

Having lost a bridge over 10 years ago, I finally decided to look for an implant replacement for the three missing teeth so I could chew on my right side again. First company estimate was over $15,000. Ouch! A relative suggested VIP Dental's Dr Alex. I had one implant done on my left side 12 years earlier by a different company, $4,000 for one tooth. I visited with Dr Alex and he examined me closely and recommended two implants and a bridge. His estimated for that, with my insurance, was comparable to the cost 12 years earlier. I was a bit skeptical but went forward. Dr Alex not only did a wonderful job on me, but followed me very closely and became my primary dentist. Especially since he also worked on Saturdays. Great experience, great cleaning! The front desk was friendly and my appointment was on time. The hygienist was excellent and detailed and took her time. The dentist came in to do the exam, was professional, answered my questions and made me feel confident that he wasn't to push any services I didn't need on me. I had gone to another practice close by and got up and walked out when they got pushy trying to upsell me on things I didn't need, so I was skeptical to try someone new. I thought the billing tactics of this office to be very ruthless. Quoted to 200$ to pull a tooth only to show up for my appointment being charged over 600$ for additional services that weren't discussed prior to the appointment being made. On top of this, I couldn't even speak with a doctor prior to payment about the services I needed performed. Which was just a tooth pull. There's 1000 different places to have dental work done -- I recommend going to one of those places hoping they don't try to upcharge you 300% on a single tooth pull. read more

Had temporary fillings fallout three times doctor suggested eating soft foods that's all I had the first one fell out by brushing several and I have a implant on the other side that has to be done. Don't know if I'll let them do it. never had temporary fall out before. read more

Dr Hempe and Nicole were amazing. I needed a tricky procedure and couldn't find an oral surgeon in my network but I knew I needed the work done. Great customer service and Dr Hempe was proficient, waylaying any fears I had of not knowing g him prior to procedure. Initially I was skeptical because of the rather kitschy appearance of the facility, but quickly found out that it was a mistake to judge the book by its cover. I have had nothing but excellent care here. My first visit was due to an emergency where I was taken in immediately for treatment. I have a deep seated fear of dentistry and was handled with great compassion and professionalism. Everyone working there that I have encountered has been professional and kind. But! the proof is in my mouth. Over the last year and many visits I have had the best experiences with both Dr Hampe and Dr Alex. Went in to see if they could fix a piece on my dental implant. I got an appointment for Friday( this was a Monday. Got to the office and was called in to see the dentist. He came in and looked at my implant, and walked away. After sitting in the chair for 2 hours waiting for him to return I finally got up and went to the front desk to ask what was going on. After returning to my room, the dentist appeared and I was told they did not have the piece, but would order it. I called on the following Tuesday to see if the piece was in, and was told they had me on the schedule for Saturday, for a 11/2 hr slot. Could not get an earlier appt because of the 11/2 hour slot. Went there Saturday at 2pm and was out in 1/2 hour. $375.00 for this?? Never again! read more

Make sure you read the contract they come in with after they decide you need a crown. You have one month to be satisfied with it. Mine needed a root canal since the dentist didn't check the tooth. They were in such a big hurry to get the money for the crown. They couldn't fit me in till the last day of the month it's covered to replace the core. I then get a call from my root canal dr advising me they sent over their report but was advised by VIP Dental my appointment was cancelled. I called VIP and they advised me I sent a text stating I had Covid and cancelled my appointment . I said prove it. Supposedly I'm back on the schedule for 6pm tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. It didn't go at all. The receptionists were rude, especially Betty who made a finger gesture. A fireable offense in my eyes. I was handed half of the paperwork I signed which had the wrong tooth number on it. They wanted to charge me $176, conveniently exactly what I have left on Care Credit. My front tooth crown came off when I was eating a hamburger bun. Could not get into a qualified dentist for 4 days so they suggested VIP Dental in Palm Harbor. I called got an appointment within one hour. Person who assassinated the doctor was well qualified, took X- ray, cleaned the tooth put in glue. Dr came in the room did not introduce himself, just put in tooth quickly, and left. He never came back to check on how it was feeling. In 5 DAYS my Crown fell out. This should never have happened. -1 rating. Since I have to put something into the "star" field I'll give it the lowest Rating. The VIP treatment is a far cry. It's more like we will try to get you in and if we do , we most likely won't be able to help. Three crowns and three to four weeks later I'm still in pain. Each time I seek help for the pain Im told everything looks good on the X-ray and that it's too soon to see what's going on Underneath my crowns. (Btw: when I say I'm seeking help for the pain I don't mean pain killers. I mean helping my tooth. Fixing the issue). I was told to try prescription toothpaste and mouthwash, along with warm salt water and to no avail nothing is helping. The pain has gotten so bad I'm often awoken in the middle of the night. This last time (today) I was told my X-rays from (again) 3 weeks ago looks fine and that since my dentist is not in to guide him on what to do and the process he took there is nothing he can do. Don't forget the fact he is a dentist himself, and does do root canals in the event I needed one, but bec he doesn't want to step on toes he does nothing. After realizing I was about to walk out still in pain I'm told my dentist isn't back until the following week bec I at least thought ok I'll try to wait until Monday to see him. No such luck! I'm left in tears and looking for a new dentist as my faith in VIP is gone. If you like pain than by all means this is your place, but to me it's more like RIP, not VIP. read more

Called VIP at 3:00am Friday night into Saturday for an emergency cracked molar and noted I was getting married that evening. They were absolutely amazing. I couldn't ask for better service and care. I had a broken temp crown that was done at another dentist office. I had never been to VIP dental in the past, but they got me in the same day right before the holiday weekend. Caton was awesome and had me fitted for another temp crown in about 15 mins. This temp was so much better than the one I had done at the other dentist office and and I can tell it will hold me over until my crown is done. Canton was very professional and humorous and made me feel confident that I wasn't going to have any more issues. I may be changing dentist after this experience. I am from South Carolina visiting my Family here in Palm Harbor for a few days when I developed severe tooth pain. I tried various home remedies but it continued to worsen and I spent a horrible night. Unfortunately, it was on a Sunday when I looked for Emergency Dental Services and found VIP Dental Center. I called and got an immediate appointment. I was x-rayed and saw Dr. J who explained my condition thoroughly and the treatment he was recommending. I received a nerve block which immediately relieved my excruciating pain. I was 100% satisfied with the care given by the friendly staff and Dr. J. I was given a prescription and told to follow up with my regular Dentist at home. I can't say enough good about VIP and Dr. J. A general dentist at this establishment performed some botched extractions on my wife, but fortunately we found a good oral surgeon to fix his mistakes and stop the bleeding that he was unable or unwilling to. Short story, Things got complicated and they bailed on my wife. If you're interested read more, but don't just take my word do some research before geettig anything besides a cleaning done. Be super careful with these so called dental professionals and understand if things go south you are going find it incredibly difficult to get some help from them. This is most likely because they don't actually have the training or skill to deal with complex dental procedures. My wife went in for some needed extractions, which I understand were complicated. During these extractions the dentist failed to remove a root, this caused excessive bleeding and led to an abcess. This was not discovered until three weeks later after two separate emeragncy visits. She went back for a fourth time and was told that nothing could be done due to swelling at the site. She has now been bleeding for 12hrs today and was told that she still can't be seen by a dentist for another four hours. I understand stand that complications happen and not everything will always go to plan, but its my opinion that the dentists that saw he are irresponsible and negligent in treating a patient that they are responsible for. Update, nothing was done at the latest appointment and my wife is still bleeding! Update, called and left a message on the emergency number, two days later still no call back. Update, took my wife to the emergency room in an attempt to control the bleeding and found out that there was no abscess just a pocket that fills with blood. For some reason the dentist was unable or unwilling to treat this, my guess is the later. Update, talked to more of the VIP staff and was told to come because their oral surgeon was in. Got there waited 30 minutes to been seen. They took my wife back and the surgeon(also the owner) after looking over the wound site said something like "I don't know what to tell you sweetie, you should get a second opinion." It's funny because a physicians assistant and another oral surgeon was able to identify what needed to be done to stop the bleeding. The non VIP dental surgeon was eventually able to fix this. Final update, took my wife to an oral surgeon who stopped the bleeding and removed bone fragments and the root left by their dental team. The suregon was amazed at the lack of professionalism by the VIP team. Also, I had to pay completely out of pocket because insurance does not cover the same procedure twice. They must have a different meaning for VIP. Good luck trying to get someone to call you back or perform anything more complex than a cleaning. If you need dental surgery find an oral surgeon. A real oral surgeon will take responsibility for the work they perform, but so would any professional. read more

For our family, VIP Dental Center (includes Hollywood Smiles) STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE!!! Ever need a dentist when they aren't open? Last summer, my son had a tooth ache on a Friday night. I found this dentist with Emergency Hours in our insurance's provider network and we were at the office on Saturday morning - a first ever for us! The office staff and dentist were great! My son was fixed up in no time. Our regular in-network dental center wanted just over $1900 to give my husband a bridge on 1 tooth. The amount had an extra fee of $300 for the temporary that was not covered by our insurance company. I thought that was strange as temporaries are normally included while a patient waited for the final product. They also said some of the upper teeth needed crowns. So, we decided to wait for our next cleanings to try the dental office that helped our son. My husband had an appointment at 8am on a Friday in January 2016 for his cleaning and to become an established patient. The Dental Tech - Megan - was fantastic! She made us feel welcomed and relaxed and explained what was happening clearly. She was friendly and knowledgeable. The Dental Hygienist - Eric - was fabulous too! He gave very clear education on what my husband was doing right and explained how to best improve dental care at home. His unique interpretation of healthy and unhealthy dental care actually made sense making prior cleaning experiences sound like "blah blah blah." The dentist, Dr. Mark Weiskopf, examined his teeth, came up with a treatment plan, and thought the upper crowns (and teeth) appeared fine! My husband needed quite a bit of work - the bridge, 3 surgical extractions, 1 simple extraction, and a partial (over the extraction spots). This is where Megan comes in again and runs the codes with our insurance. Our responsibility for all of this was just under $1700 - so much less money for so much more work!!! Plus, there were no separate fees for temporaries. We wanted to get all of the work done ASAP since we had taken the day off work for the dental cleaning and to go out of town for the weekend. The first order of treatment was a much needed Perio Cleaning. The next treatment would be the Bridge. So, Hygienist Eric scheduled the deep cleaning for the same day at 11am which would give us time to eat lunch first. We came back and were told there was a scheduling mix-up. BUT Eric stepped up and said he would do the cleaning at 12noon through his lunch so we could still leave for our long weekend getaway. WHAT A RELIEF! Then Dr. Weiskopf returned during the cleaning to say he would do the bridgework on his day off since he started the treatment plan and this helped our comfort level. So, we returned again for the perio cleaning and soon we were leaving for our weekend. Today, we returned for the bridge work with Dr. Weiskopf and my own cleaning. Hygienist Eric was there again and gave the great service to me as he had with my husband. HOWEVER, the office topped itself when they said I could wait in the MOVIE THEATER! It had a lot of children's movies available and real movie seats. HOW COOL! If your dental insurance plan's provider network has these dentists in it, then I recommend you make your next appointment with this full service dental office. The "trick" is to get established as a patient when your insurance company is open. This allows the staff to verify your benefits and your responsibility for treatment, making return visits and financial planning easier for you. The VIP Dental office is open 7am to 9pm Monday through Friday and for appointments on Saturday, with an Emergency Team on call for after-hours if you are in pain. With these hours, anyone should be able to make the time to get their dental work within their own schedule. The main dentist, Dr. William Jarmolych, had done dental work for me when I was pregnant 20 years ago. I needed 2 wisdom teeth surgically pulled and he helped our infant son who was "tongue-tied" by clipping his frenulum (so I could nurse my baby). The HMO doctors would not do this in the delivery hospital nor at the checkup office visit. This was back when Dr. Jarmolych was just starting out with his specialty practice. So, I felt another connection to this new dental office and staff. You may wonder why I would recommend an office that had a scheduling conflict. One, the conflict was solved to meet our needs (not theirs), 2nd, the Dentist made time to start/finish the treatment to meet our schedule, and 3rd, the treatment plan was within our BUDGET. Another thing to keep in mind is the staff was still in transition with the recent move of Hollywood Smiles into a new office with a new name - it's not always smooth moving and expanding any business. Once the "kinks" are worked out (which will be soon), I'm CONFIDENT you will appreciate the dentists, staff, and services as much as we have. KEEP SMILING! :) read more

Went in with a horrible toothache on Saturday. Needed two teeth removed to remedy the infected area. Doc gave antibiotics and pain killers to make it through the night and Sunday had the removal done. All I can say is great staff, great doctors and great experience! read more

This is the typical doctors office that can't even hide the fact that all they're after is $ Money $. The place looks old and dirty (why did I go there then? Because it was very convenient to get to the location). The "office manager" is the one in charge of making sure that the dentist can squeeze the last cent out of you. In a nutshell, their "billing" department decided that it would be easier to bill me for a denied claim that they billed wrong. I had to do their job and call the insurance company to find out they billed the same same thing twice, so the doctors office billed me almost $100 for something my insurance company should have paid if the doctors office had done their job correctly. Lastly, after I went through the hassle of doing everything that was their responsibility to do, not once did they apologize for the inconvenience and unprofessionalism on their part...I also had to basically harass them to rebill and give me my money back. read more

I am a problem Dental patient. I have had a long, bad history with Dentists. I am a terrible gagger, with a severe anxiety problem about medical issues. The staff was very reassuring, patient and calming. My experience was very different than any others with dentists. I need much more work done and am not so nervous as I normally would be. Dirty ,dusty, tool used for mouth was on floor, cob webs on ceiling, they vacumned when i waited for my daughter in front of me at 930 am in the lobby. It was a terrible experience !!!! My daughter was sent home without taking her wisdom tooth out but she was completly numb when we got home and bit her tounge and lip. It swelled up and we had to go to emergency room and get 3 diff perscriptions to correct her mouth. This was 5 days ago and she is still in pain and swollen. The doctor didnt wait enough to let the shots work we were in and out of his office within an hour. My sister and I Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Went for my initial exam and x rays because I had a cracked molar. Dentist recommended sedation seeing as how I had two other old cracked teeth that needed to be extracted as well. I agreed that I definitely wanted the sedation because i have had some bad dental experiences and have some anxiety. When I got there he told me that I had said i didn't want the sedation and would be using local anesthetic only. Was a little concerned but decided I would give it a shot. Had me sitting there for 40 minutes after the anesthetic and finally came in and started pulling. I have had extractions and root canals before (not to mention a c-section) so I know the difference between pressure and pain. When i couldn't take it anymore and took a deep breath in. (No screaming or yelling) this guy jumps up and yells at me!!! "I CANT WORK ON THIS GIRL SHE NEEDS TO BE SEDATED!!" Then gives me two options, another $300 for the sedation that I said I wanted in the first place because they can't verify insurance on Sundays or he could come in and start pulling at my unnumbed tooth again.
