I moved recently to Malden and chose this place since it was close to my house. Got appnmt within the next 2 days. My wife and I went there. They tried to sell lots of tufa tuff from electric tooth brush to fluoride expensive paste. They insisted on electric brush even though I told I had one. Everything was added to my treatment plan. Indian doc here is more an admin than a doctor. He filled my wife's 2 teeth and it started painting after 2 days. And he is not agreeing about the exposed tooth even after 1week. Now we are looking for another dentist in the area. Oh forgot to mention they charged top rates that insurance cuts them by 30 % all the time. Better to avoid and forgot to tell they have NO emergency number to call after hours and on weekend. read more

Went in for a cleaning and the Rte 1 Saugus office was under construction, I was worried. However, I was greeted courteously by the front office staff and taken in right on time with my hygienist Katie. She was very sweet and explained everything as we went through the entire process which definitely put me at ease. I went there for teeth cleaning in 8th of January. Although my dental health coverage covers two times teeth cleaning a year, I received $32.60 bills from them. I called my health care provider and Aspen Detal about it three times. My health care provider told me that my teeth cleaning made by a doctor who is out of network. I actually didn't know anything about it. After the specialist done my teeth cleaning, called a doctor and he checked my result. I didn't know he was out of network. That was my second visit to Aspen Dental and they have my health insurance information. They should have provided in network doctor for checking the result. Because of their fault, I have to pay $32.60 for the teeth cleaning which I already have the cover in my health care plan. After a year I had to leave this place because this office is not professional on so many levels. To start I made an appt with the owner for my new patient exam about a year ago but was placed with her associate without my knowledge. The dentist who I regretfully saw (Dr Robinson) seemed to have very little experience and fumbled during my filling placements. She made me uncomfortable with her lack of expertise and I quickly lost trust in her. It was clear that her assistant didn't trust her either. She made estimates claiming I needed extensive work done on teeth that already (recently) had work done on them which seemed fishy to me. Then during the first set of fillings (on teeth that had no pain) she says in the middle of the procedure "these fillings aren't going to work, you're going to need root canals and crowns in a few months" . Then as I was leaving the office on that day gives me estimates for the same teeth to have root canals! I realized either she has no idea what she is doing or is just really trying to make money. The front desk staff has no customer service skills. Each time I entered the office (for a year) I never received a "hello" or eye contact. They were short and grumpy. Once, I was told to schedule a cleaning 3 months after one was just done there which seemed weird to me because insurances only cover twice yearly but the receptionist assured me they would cover it, upon arriving for the appt she told me it would cost $206! The only bright shining light about this place is Kaitlin the hygienist. She was very professional, helpful and kind. Sad to leave her behind. But I'm running from the rest of them! read more

I haven't been able to afford to go to the dentist in longer than I'd like to admit, and so I had extreme anxiety around my first appointment "back" once I got dental insurance (I will say I did read on their website that they do have special deals for those without insurance) I simply cannot recommend Aspen Dental in Saugus enough!! The ENTIRE process was so simple, and every single person was incredible in making sure I was not only comfortable and safe, but well informed about my options as well! I have to give the BIGGEST shoutout to my dental hygienist Rich--I literally couldn't have done it without him. He's INCREDIBLE. He gave me every piece of information I needed, he answered all my questions thoroughly, he's amazingly quick, calm, reassuring, and not the least bit judgmental. He singlehandedly made me feel much more relaxed and prepared, and now I can go to the dentist without any anxiety attached. When I left the facility I thought the check up on my irritated gums went ok, but after my girlfriend & mom asked me a few basic questions about how bad my tooth is I realized I walked away with no real information or options from Aspen Dental. I was not shown the x-rays they had to take three times (two side shots of tooth but then decided to x-ray my entire mouth), no explanation if there was any option to save my tooth, no mention that removing my tooth could alter my bite/teeth alignment, no mention of the tooth number, and they gave me no paper work or even a receipt for $87 I paid for the check up. I had trusted Aspen Dental would have mentioned or shown me these things as their commercials imply that Aspen Dental would give me a clear understanding of my Dental needs and provide me with options. I feel instead that Aspen Dental is trying to funnel me into the easiest solution for Aspen Dental and doesn't really care about my personal oral health. I called another dentist to get a second opinion, they asked for copies of the x-rays since there is no reason for them to x-ray me again a week later; plus there is no medical reason why I should have radiation (x-rays) shot through my head a fourth time. I called Aspen Dental to request copies of the x-rays and medical notes, so I could get a 2nd dental opinion. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get the medical records because it had to be approved by head office. I am currently in pain with infected gums. The thought that I have wait two additional weeks for medical records that are already in a computer (and x-rays records which are recorded digitally) seems callous and apathetic to a patient in pain. I was told I could request paper copies of records for the next day (which requested), but paper copies are not the same as the x-ray records and may still result in me having to medically unnecessarily have additional x-rays due to Aspen Dentals bureaucratic delays. Overall I walked away with the experience that Aspen Dental is not interested in informing patients of their medical options nor interested in easily allowing patients in significant pain to get 2nd dental opinions before major oral surgery. read more

So about two years ago I started at the aspen dental in Peabody, MA. They checked me over and told me I had no cavities when I KNEW for a fact that I had some. He told me I didn't and proceeded to tell me to get my wisdom teeth out instead. It was gonna cost me an arm and a leg so I went else where. Then this year I decided to go back to aspen but to a different location (Saugus Ma). This time was totally satisfying because they literally went into depth and found all my cavities and really listened to me when I said I knew I had something. The manager, Gina, was really great because she connected with me personally unlike the Peabody manager who wanted to steal my money. Gina was not only professional but she was definitely concerned about my oral health and it made me understand how important it is to maintain a healthy routine. I went here for a few years while I lived in the area. The dental cleanings were adequate. They filled a few cavities they spotted in X-Rays. When I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed, they sent me to a different office where the surgeon goes for special appointments. They did try to up-sell me with fluoride treatment. They said you should get it every time, but I haven't had professional fluoride treatments since I was 12. And when I told them I use over the counter fluoride treatments, they said that it doesn't compare to their treatment, since theirs uses a much stronger concentration. The main reason I stopped going is because I moved. Though for the two years I was there, I did typically have the same dental hygienist. read more

I came today for an annual cleaning, and I left feeling like I had been at the spa! I cannot say enough about how fabulous Kelly is at the Saugus, Massachusetts location on Route 1. The entire staff, from Mr. Anderson working the front desk, to Stephanie doing the x-rays, to Kelly the hygenist..they all had an extremely professional manner and, above all, a GENTLE touch. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist (a necessary evil) but I really was pleased with the level of service and attention I received. Highly recommended! Reading some of these older negative reviews, I have to say this was not my experience. They didn't give me the hard sell...I have dental insurance, so I had to pay a copay for a barely-there cavity, and I paid $50 for a cancer screening (totally optional btw). read more

Poorly run, they are always charging you for services that you never asked for. and do not make you aware of the fact ahead of time, that these service's are not covered by your insurance carrier. Had a filling performed by Dr. Dhwani earlier this year. I was in severe pain immediately afterward (for 2 months) & ended up needing a root canal and crown (performed at a different office). She was prepared with a plethora of excuses for everything. She said the pain is not coming from the tooth she did the filling on -- it was the one in front of it (which ended up not being true). Floss was shredding in the area where she performed the filling as well and she said that's normal if you keep flossing the same area...? But after I had the filling redone at a different office, it was no longer shredding.. I like to think that dentists do what they do because they care about people, but I felt strongly that she showed no sympathy for what I had to go through. She was very rude, argumentative, defensive, stubborn, and unapologetic throughout the whole ordeal. I would highly advise that people go to another dental office for care. Dr. Dhwani is not very trustworthy and it's important to have an honest dentist who cares about you and genuinely wants you to feel better. I thought it was a little strange at times when I was trying to prove to her that I was in pain or that my floss was shredding.. I'm pretty sure that most dentists will just believe you... All in all, what was supposed to be a routine filling ended up costing me almost $2000 and Dr. Dhwani took no responsibility and offered absolutely no compensation for what I had to go through. This whole experience was a nightmare that I will remember for the rest of my life... Pure examples of the greed and lack of humanity in this world. The only explanation or consolation I really got was that there are risks that come with getting fillings done.. You should not take a risk by coming here!! read more

I'm writing this review because I've never been comfortable before about talking about my teeth until I came to aspen dental. My first visit I was already apprehensive because of how uncomfortable other dentist made me feel because of the work that needed to be done. One word a lot! I've now had my 4th appointment with them and never in my life have I felt more happier because of the way they make me feel each appointment and because of the work that they have done. I first met Rene,Clarissa, kelly and Dr. Trangaris. My first appointment was With kelly, and she treated my gums. Again never felt more comfortable letting someone work on my teeth. Then I got my root canals.. I forget the Drs name but he treated me really well and I got 3 and didn't feel a thing the whole time. And then last but not least I went today and today really topped it. I had to have a lot of work done.. Long story short I delt with of course Clarissa and dr trangaris and also rachelly. I was there a long time and not once did it bother me because of the environment and people around me. When they worked on me they made me feel like they actually cared about what they were doing and how I would feel when I seen my smile. Honestly I cried because it changed my life I think and I'm not even done yet! This may be long but it's because I truly feel this way and would recommend anyone get work done here. My experience with this Aspen Dental was wonderful so far. I had scaling done with Kelly, the hygienist. She is very sweet, very thorough with her work and she does not rush even though she is very busy. I love her! I had a crown done on my front tooth which I've been very self conscious about since I fell down the stairs in 4th grade. They fixed it and it came out beautiful. I'm very happy. Clarissa is the best asisstant and she made my temporary crown look amazing as well. Dr Narli Trangaris was very thorough with her work l, she made sure I was happy with everything and gave me excellent patient education. Everyone of the staff here was very friendly from the receptionist, radiologists and everyone else. Lilliette was wonderful in breaking down all the services and charges and worked with my insurance as well to get me the best care. I live in Quincy but will gladly drive up to Saugus to get my teeth done here. Going back for fillings, extractions and follow ups to this clinic is not going to be dreadful at all! :) read more

Hang on to your wallet! I took my 92 year old mother in for an emergency as she had broken a tooth - the rude dentist smoothed down the broken tooth. My mother wanted to go back for an exam and other work but they said they wouldn't do anything else until she had gum therapy to the tune of $920. My mother, feeling pressured, thought she should have it done so we made an appointment for about two weeks later. She changed her mind about spending that kind of money so I cancelled the appt. Come to find out her credit card was charged the $920 the day we made the appt. When I found this out I called to speak to the office manager. I called 3 or 4 times within a week and she was never available and I never got a call back from her. I then called the Aspen Patient Satisfaction line and about a week later they got in touch with her and she called me and credited the account after some debate. read more

I waited, and waited, and waited, when the doctor finally came in, I apologized and put my phone away, she immediately left the room and punished me, like a misbehaving child, and serviced 2 other patients before deciding to check on me again. The Doctor is Rude, Unprofessional, and childish in her treatment of her patients. I will continue with the hygienist, but once my treatment with her is complete, I will be going to another Dentist for my on going treatment. I will never recommend clinic. read more

My family and I have been patients for the last few months. I find them to be a bit too much like bad tupperware salesmen. Everything is "you need this product" "you need this work done" "you have 8 cavities which I am not even sure is true." We are so unhappy with the whole concept. You make an appt. you go, you get treated then they need to consult with you for another appointment then you need to go into the "financial" consult room. The whole entire visit is so frustrating and needless. Oh and almost forgot. Once you schedule an appointment you get a call, a text an email another call and so forth. They are in your face literally at every corner! I find the whole practice to be very off-putting. My family and I are out of there! Yuk! read more

My husband and I moved from Newton and needed a new dentist. We were lucky to find Dr. Trangaris. She and the staff of the Saugus office who took part in our complicated and prolonged treatment program are outstanding . Dr. Trangaris is a very warm, professional, straightforward, extremely well educated and knowledgeable doctor with miracle hands. Most importantly, she truly cares about the outcome of the treatment, so she did not stop until I was fully satisfied with both the esthetics and the function of the crowns that I needed to have. Her assistant Clarissa Russell is also an absolute gem - also very experienced, skillful and very nice. My treatment is finished and I am happy, but I miss these ladies! Highly recommend. read more
