They claim this is the best steak in Wyoming. I'm going to have to agree. Steaks were incredible. Crab Rangoon appetizer was delicious and the sweet and sour sour sauce complemented them perfectly. Not your normal sticky pink mess by far. We had the shrimp cocktail and the cocktail sauce had good flavor not spicy at all (happily). I had the sirloin and crab legs. By far the best sirloin I have ever had. I'm normally a ribeye lover and this was sooo good. My hubby had the Oscar filet. He liked the dish alot. Service was great. A nice find in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. The salads were fresh and served on chilled plates. The steaks were medium rare and tender. A bottle of wine was fairly priced at 2x retail. Our waiter Harry was congenial and efficient. The ambiance is fun. It was a victorian mansion that was used as a doctor's office. We sat in a small room with only one table which was private and pleasant. The only downsides were: They were out of bread at 7:00 an Sunday night. There are printed instructions for the staff everywhere. Stupid shit like mop the floor, vacuum and turn out the lights before leaving. The glass covering the tablecloths is out of place at this price level. The desert selections are uninspired. We would go back if we ever found ourselves in Rawlings, Wyoming again (unlikely) simply because TINA. read more

This is Wyoming but there were no horses or cowboys but if you squint your eyes I'm sure you can picture them here. I travel and really enjoy a good meal. I tried the Cajun rib eye with asparagus and it was GREAT! The house is very interesting with an interesting chandelier! I was captured by their slogan " Best Steak in Wyoming " and so far they are the top of the list. Try it you won't be disappointed. The dessert is worth saving room for, too. read more

The meal did not meet expectations. Steak not cooked as ordered and was definitely not, as promoted, "the best steak in Wyoming". Mashed potatoes were bland and Bread, which cost extra, appeared to be heated in the microwave. The quality of the food needs to be taken up a notch or the prices need to be lowered. On the positive side the ambiance is pleasant and charming with several small dining rooms graced with beautiful chandeliers and nice music. Service was friendly and attentive and management responded to food complaints. It's a nice concept that needs to up their game to make it worth the price. read more

Found this little gem on our way to Rushmore. The food and drink was outstanding! I had the rib eye with shrimp and my wife had the sea bass. The restaurant is very quaint, with white table linens, excellent service and a relaxed environment. They even let us break our small dog inside. Wow... what a great find! Like many others, my boyfriend and I were just passing through. We are massive foodies and we were so blown away by this spot! From start to finish our service was impeccable. I believe our servers name was Oriana and she was so kind, knowledgeable, and attentive and gave us great suggestions through out the evening. She made me the best cosmo I've ever had! I don't even think I could call it a cosmo, truthfully. She balanced the ingredients so beautifully that it became a completely different cocktail. The sign of a true master of her craft! My bf said it reminded him more of a fortified wine. Delicious. We had the calamari which was peppery, crispy, and perfectly golden. My bf had the red snapper and I had the lamb. Both cooked, dressed, and presented to perfection! I have not one single complaint on any part of our experience. Truly blown away. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem. It has great service ,delicious food and a nice ambiance in a restored Victorian house.

I stopped in town for the night on my way from CA to PA and found this place for dinner. I ordered take out and it was delicious! The Thai Shrimp was delicious and cooked perfectly. The cream of broccoli soup was perfect and the cheesecake was a great finish. This place was a wonderful surprise and definitely worth checking out. read more

We walked into the restaurant and there was no hostess. there was no obvious hostess station so we walked to the register. a lady came by and I asked if we were in the correct place. she replied that we do not have a hostess and walkked away. she then proceeded to pass us multiple times and never spoke to us but treated us like we were intruding. we stood there a good 5 minutes and no one spoke or told us there were no tables or nothing. just walked around us. it was horrible. read more

Just like everyone else here, I was driving from the West Coast to the Midwest. This was the only restaurant that showed up on our GPS system, so we stopped here for dinner. This place has an eclectic menu with steaks, wine, pasta, seafood (if my memory serves correctly), Cajun and... Asian. Cajun and Asian on the same menu??? Wow. Dad got a steak and I got the ravioli. Apparently, we weren't brave enough to try the exotic stuff on the menu. Really nice food. Ravioli wasn't too cheesy, and there was enough to wrap up and take home for breakfast the next day. I just wish I could give the same rating to the service, which was slow and unattentive. It took us 15 minutes to get seated and another 15 minutes before a waiter came around to get our drinks (not take our order). Three and a half stars to this place. read more

Very underwhelming. When you claim to be the best steak in the region, you should make it reality. A huge let down - asked for moscato, was served cab. The bread was chewy and honestly disgusting. Steaks were ordered medium and came out less than rare. I have never had a steak come out so undercooked. We sent them back because I think we would have actually gotten sick from eating meat so raw and they were well when they came back. We are just here for one night and decided to get a NICE dinner. We ordered the lobster ravioli and the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. The Fettuccine was good but the chicken pieces were a bit oversized. The lobster ravioli, on the other hand was not good. Tasted exactly like canned tuna inside the ravioli. We didn't eat it. We told the server and he just said he'd never heard of that before. But he did not offer to "make it right" (not sure how you can get the tuna taste out, once it is in). After a super long drive from Rapid Springs SD, we were ready to stop and eat. Due to COVID, we were limited on our choices...did we luck out. During our trip cross country, we stop at a lot of small resturants to eat. Hands down this was one of the best places eat. The bread they provided was hot and fresh. My wife had the lobster ravioli ...she thought it was really good. My son and I split the ribeye. It was huge. My son does not normal like any sauce on his steak, but he devoured his half. So for starters this place is nice, the staff is attentive and pleasant, and has the markings of fine dinning. The restraint itself is located in an old house lending a rather quaint rustic feel. The menu is rather eclectic containing steaks, Italian, and Asian. Started out the meal with tomato basil soup. The flavor is ok, and the soup thin enough to be translucent. Unfortunately it really needs work-not concentrated enough nor flavorful enough. The lamb was actually pretty decent. Nothing knee weakening but actually quite good. The presentation was good and it was cooked perfectly. All in all it was a decent meal. We were passing through Rawlins on our way to Rock Springs, our last stop before home on a month long cross country trip. We were staying the night in Rawlins on a road trip, and we wanted to find someplace unique to eat dinner. The Aspen House Restaurant was perfect for us. It's a beautiful old home / doctor's office repurposed as a lovely upscale dining experience. I had the wild mushroom stuffed ravioli, and my wife had the pasta primavera. Both were excellent. Our waitress was wonderful. My wife had asked if the tomato soup had any animal products in it, so later on she was thoughtful enough to come back and ask if they should hold the cheese on our entrees - for which my wife was very grateful.
