Aspire is a hidden gem in Marina. They do an excellent job on both fingers and toes. Vicky did my pedicure earlier this week paying close attention to detail. I felt amazing post pedicure. She was super nice and a total gem. She did not have time to do a manicure and is not a pro at dip nails so she scheduled me for next week for a manicure. I told her that I could come in quickly if she got a cancellation this week. She called the next day and said that Ha had a cancellation slot available if I could get there quickly. I went right away and got a gorgeous mani (see photo) from Ha. My nails were destroyed, bitten and bleeding from the stress over moving. She was able to add tips, dip my nails and even trim this super short so I could feel comfortable with them. I am SO impressed with this nail salon! Both Ha and Vicky were super nice and easy to talk too!

I got a mani and pedi gel there. They lasted quite a while considering I do alot of housework. Their prices were also great for their quality work.

They squeezed me in 30 minutes before closing. Service was great, love the nails, thank you Von!

Had acrylics done. The tech was very sweet, but took forever removing my old set and left glue all over my fingers and 2 of the nails weren't even attached. Cost me $53 (after being quoted $48 over the phone). I left her a decent tip, because I thought she might have been new. But having my own license, I know she should have known how to do better!

I had my nails done by Van. I showed her a picture from Pinterest. And she did it exact, even better! I was nervous to ask for the ombré but she did it on point! She was paying attention to every detail and made sure I was comfortable. She turned on a little heater for my feet when I got cold. Everything was clean and I appreciated that they had a small fan on for the fumes Great place! read more

I used to come here in high school but after that I had jobs that wouldn't allow me to get my nails done & then I moved to Missouri for 2 years. Well I've been back for about a month now & I decided to try out Aspire again. Van was AMAZING. I don't think my nails have ever looked & felt so good! She took her time & actually cared about my opinion on them! I told her I wanted them to have a natural look and she pulled 3 polishes for me. I chose this one but the others were gorgeous as well & I'll be doing one of them next! The salon is tiny but it makes for good conversations & feels homey. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT & SET ASIDE TIME Overall, i enjoyed my pedicure experience here! I came here because the place i usually go for pedicure was closed. Here is a summary of the service i received. I walked in and was told nothing available until 11:15 (45mins). So i studied at cafe nearby. I go to my 11:15 apt and am waiting for another 15mins to get into my seat. Upon my request to not have the blue colored salts put into the water i was questioned by both staff members which made me uncomfortable. I shouldn't have to convince them to respect my preference. The fragrance of the lotion they use for massaging legs is way too strong. SEE PICS, the paint job was so so. Ive had way better french tip on toes from the place i usually go, Nail It. The apt spanned from 11:30-12:45 plus the 15mins to dry. I have very bad ingrown toe nails my whole life and Vicky is one of the few ladies who knew how to deal with it properly which did take extra time. Thank you, Vicky! Personally, i enjoyed she was taking her time and not rushing me out. Vicky was soooo sweet! read more

Walk-ins definitely not welcome. I came in 2 hours before closing and they can't do a gel mani/pedi. New to the area and wanted to support local businesses, but clearly this one didn't want mine. Won't be coming back again. read more

Extremely upset after that experience. Pedicure was great until they went to sit a person on both sides of me. This place is not abiding by COVID regulations. I stopped the woman from even doing my massage because I just wanted to get out of there. I said something about not abiding by regulation and she just laughed at me. I will be calling the health department to inform them. This is not fair to the business that are abiding by the regulations. read more

This is my go to place in Marina! It's a smaller set up but I never feel rushed by anyone doing my nails. I dont have a preference of techs, everyone I've had have done a great job. read more

This place has extremely ghetto clientele and the owner's wife is very rude. I mean...if your husband runs a nail salon don't you think you would be used to him being friendly to women? Also, there are two women there that don't speak English. I was getting a pedicure and tried to tell her not to scrub my feet so hard and she just ignored me. The owner's wife who does speak English and was also giving a pedicure next to her just looked and didn't say anything. To explain my ghetto clientele comment...I was in the waiting area and some girl was slapping the crap out of her kid while she was talking on her cell phone. The employees of course didn't say anything. I recommend going to a bigger nail salon to experience better customer service. read more

You know the awkward moments when the nail ladies are speaking to each other in vietnamese and think that you don't know that they are talking about you? Well, I didn't feel that here! I felt that they were really professional and constantly checked if I was comfortable. My nail lady also took her time getting all my cuticles out and did not rush through the massage part. I got a pedi with design and the flower design was awesome blue and white two tone with rhinestone. All for $4 extra dollars! My toes are happy! This might not be a big deal for some of you, but it took me 5 years to find a good one in this neighborhood! Oh, and I appreciated that they recommended trying gel polish but didn't push me to get it. They are busy so make sure you call ahead of time to avoid waiting! I rarely give out 5 star ratings, but they really impressed me! Very friendly too! One thing though, the exterior of the nail salon makes it look kind of sketchy! That's why I avoided coming here for years, but my friend comes here and highly recommended them. I wish I had earlier, so I didn't have to waste my money getting mediocre pedi's all around town. Actually, I think i'm going back today to try out the gel polish with my manicure! They prefer tip in cash, but does accept credit card. read more

I came here years ago to see Bao to fix the mess another shop that is no longer open made of my nails. Once Bao and Julia opened the new store, I kept coming to Aspire and Van was my go to. She's detailed, meticulous and seriously just like the sweetest girl. There are some people in the area who could take business and professionalism tips from the Aspire and Royal teams. It's a tiny shop and they take their time with their clients. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. And ask for Van. read more

I would give Bao at Aspire Nails 10 stars if possible. I've been going to Bao for at least 15 years, followed him from Monterey to Marina. He is an absolute Master at nails. Every single time they are perfection. Although I only go to Bao, I know his wife Julia, sister and Van are phenomenal as well. Their business is like a second home to me. Always clean and welcoming. This place is my favorite! They're so nice and take care of you as a customer. I got a gel manicure ($20) and accidentally chipped my nail later that day at work and when I came back to fix it, they did it for FREE. They were incredibly nice and understanding. This is the most affordable nail place in the area. People come from Monterey, Salinas, Seaside, etc. just to get their nails done here. The beesssstt :) read more

This place was okay. I got a mani pedi and was satisfied with the pedicure. I didn't get the shape i asked for with the manicure, so i wasn't pleased. Also, the atmosphere wasn't great since the tv was so loud i could still hear it, even with my headphones on. Plus there was some boxes and clutter that detracted from the ambiance. read more

I've gotten both a pedi and mani and they do a great job. I used to go to seaside but I think I found my new nail place. On top of that they are affordable compared to a lot other nail salons but don't skimp on the service. read more

I love this place! I've gone to other places in the Monterey area, but this place is by far my favorite and the prices are just as great! Great customer service and they take their time doing your nails unlike other places that rush the work. I highly recommend coming here. Love this family-owned business! They've been around for a few good years now, made me feel like I never left California for a year the day I walked through those doors again :P As a student at CSUMB this was our mani-pedi spot. Great, convenient location for CSUMB gals, the prices are right, the service is always awesome, their color selection is rad, and they just got new pedi chairs! They've turned me on to UV gel nails,which last for weeks and don't chip or fade. Getting the gel nails is like a regular mani, but after every coat applied you "bake" them under the light for about a minute. As soon as the top coat is applied you can wash your hands and dig some dirt because the gel nails dry so quickly they put quick dry nail polish to shame! The coats harden so much they make it impossible for your real nail to chip. In my case, anyway. The only downer is changing colors, regular acetone doesn't cut it. You have to soak and scrape the stuff off. The process doesn't hurt, I just can't stand the feeling of the gel being scraped off. It's like a knife to a plate to me. But I like the compliments I get all day about my nails. They take credit cards but appreciate cash tips, and who doesn't ;) read more

I have showed up here 3 days I'm a row at different times and I have been denied services everytime because they only have 2 employees here. Only one of which does nails.... What kind of place only has 2 damn employees all day!? Do not come. Here at all unless you have made an appointment because u will be disappointed! They didn't even offer me a time to come back. I had to ask about am appointment. They really don't value their customers at all read more

I just moved to the area this past summer and finally decided to try out a nail salon around here. This location was just a 3 minute drive from where I live and i thought what the heck. I want to say that I was pleased with my nails and the price. I got gel nails and was only charged $20. That included them taking my acrylic nails off! I will definitely come again. read more

I'm on vacation from NYC and chose this place for my mani+pedi based on Yelp reviews (thanks!). Vicky did a wonderful job with both. She was very detail oriented, meticulous and careful - and wasn't rushed at all. They have a plastic liner (like a shower cap) for the pedi chair bowls which was nice. Note: it's small (4 pedi chairs) so I'd echo others' recommendations to call ahead for an appointment. read more

My husband & I came here for pedicures (We are visiting from out of town) We chose this salon because it is close to our hotel. They were AMAZING!!!! Our apt was for 6pm & we didn't leave till nearly 7:30. We got right in. But the attention & detail that we were given was amazing. I'm pretty sure my hubby fell asleep during the foot massage! I recommend these people to ANYONE & want to take them home with us. We will definatly visit this shop again when we come back to the Monterey area. read more

I used to come here in high school, and decided to come back now that I don't work a job that forbids painted nails. Service was very quick, and the people working here are very nice and friendly. Cuticles were not clipped or cleaned though, which I was expecting. After about 6 days the gel polish was chipped in one spot and lifting a lot near my cuticles on all fingers. For $20 I can't really complain, but will probably go somewhere else from now on. read more

Aspire nails has really gone downhill. Called to make an appointment and they always ask what time do I want to come in so I tell them and there is never an opening till late in the afternoon or the next day. Why ask a customer what time when they know there are no openings till later. Happens every time I try to schedule an appointment. I stopped going because when I made an appointment I'd show up and have to wait 15 to 20 minutes because they overbook. The shop is filthy polish is always about empty. I remember why I stopped going now. Because my time is valuable and I can go somewhere else for an on time appointment and new product. The technicians do a good job but not definitely not up to covid standards. read more

I went in today because the nail polish came off of two nails. Vicky did them the first time and she did them again. She was also doing a pedicure and I noticed until she was almost finished that she was doing my nails with the same glove she was doing the pedicure with. Very unsanitary! I asked her if it was the same gloves and she said yes. Don't think I will be going back. read more

I love this place! The ladies who work there are super sweet and nice and definitely try to remember their customers. Perfectionist that makes it all great. I only get my brows waxed here! Also the pedi is amazing! They have a drill you can ask for that helps get rid of all the crust. The place does smell of acetone greatly but it's something that is expected! Besides that they're super nice:) read more

And for background we are on vacation but regularly get worked on by each other and other licensed therapists in the industry. It's fine for a cheap massage but for a 30minute foot massage from someone who doesn't have a good gage of anatomy and what areas you have to change the pressure I'm pretty annoyed that I gave her an additional $10 for ruining my day. I'm giving a 3 bcs my fiances therapist was a 4 and mine was a 1.

There was no room in the schedule for my first choice so I settled (first world problems, I know haha) for a 50 minute deep tissue massage with hot stones ($20 add on but so worth it!). I was given 2 appointment options which was awesome cause I thought for sure there would be no chance. I chose the 12 o'clock appointment with Luis. I was a little confused upon arrival where I was supposed to check in so I wandered around upstairs until I found a very helpful woman who took me back downstairs to check in at the front desk. She then took me back upstairs and showed me around. I waited in the comfortable lounging room until it was my turn. Luis was very friendly and thorough. He asked what I was wanting for the massage and explained my options. He took note and actually did what I wanted! I know that sounds silly but I've been to many "resorts" that charge double what I pay for a massage at home and they don't listen to my needs. That was not the case with Luis. He listened and explained everything he would be doing. Now onto the massage... he was excellent! He made sure to pay some attention to other areas of my body but he also took great care around the areas that I asked him to focus on. It was heavenly... I honestly have to say it was probably one of the best massages I've ever gotten. Overall it was a great experience, friendly customer services, cute and relaxing setting and excellent massages. The additional space would have been nice for two adults and their furry friend. It was still a great room with an awesome view of the dunes and water. Check in was terrific. The lobby is beautiful and stocked for a quick whatever you might want. There is a backyard behind the lobby that is sheltered from those pesky ocean breezes with firepit, tables, chairs and other stuff. Nice touch. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was very nice. Clean and let me say that the shower was fantastic. There is a heater/fan in the bathroom that made getting out of the shower, pleasantly warm. Toiletries are of nice quality. Our dog, Sian found the stick library very useful and she had a blast going after it on the beach and in the ocean. Not so much for the timeshares that are on the same property. And that's fine. Parking is not allowed at the units. You are driven to your unit by one of the great golf cart drivers. Zach was our driver. Loaded all our luggage on to the the cart. As we journeyed to our cottage, Zach pointed out sites as well as amenities. Unloaded our luggage as wll as went and got us ice as we settled in. If you need help getting to your car, onsite restaurant or the lobby, just call the lobby about 10 minutes before you want to go and someone will be there. The restaurant is great. We ate there twice and had breakfast delivered to our unit twice. The bread platter... OMG... the bread platter. We loved it so much that we went to Otto's bakery in Salinas on our way out of town to bring it home with us. The restaurant is not open for breakfast but, at check in, you will get a room service menu that that's how you can have breakfast onsite. More on the restaurant in that review... Can't wait to go back. Have to say that overall, this is probably in our top 3 of vacation spots. Including Hawaii. It's just great.

We paid around $1,000 for one night, so I arrived excited and expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Many of the pet-friendly touches that influenced me to book were missing at check-in. There was no personalized dog welcome setup, no dog package, and my dog's name was not on the welcome sign until I called later. I had also requested a simple welcome card for my mother-in-law's first trip to California, and although staff said they would gladly do it, it was never done. We also had multiple room issues throughout the stay. The TV was not working, the phone buttons to reach the front desk did not work, there was no extra pillow for the fold-out bed, and there was even a leftover dog chew from a previous guest found in the bed. To be fair, the maintenance employee was kind and helpful, and the complimentary bottle of wine was appreciated. However, for this price point, the lack of attention to detail and overall service was really disappointing. What upset me most was checkout. I politely explained that I was disappointed and thought at minimum the pet fee might be removed, but there was no effort to make things right beyond emailing the receipt. Beautiful location, but the experience did not match the cost or reputation. I truly wanted to love this stay and left sad and let down instead.

I had a wonderful experience at Aspire Nails in Marina. Ha was very friendly and helpful. She did a great job on my nails(Disney) and gave me some advice on how to take care of them. The shop was very clean and safe. They required everyone to wear a mask and they had plexiglass shields over the chairs for extra protection. I felt very comfortable. Came here last month with my daughter and the woman who did my pedicure was not friendly at all. She rushed through painting my nails (she did a mediocre job) and just walked away without saying anything when she was finished. Maybe because her small son was there at work with her?
