While I was there I did some comparison with stop and shop on the app. I did see that ALDI had lower prices on many items. The part I didn't like was the scam for the turkey. Spend $40 and you get a turkey. They were out of stock on items so different item was chosen. So the person that has a very nasty attitude rolled her eyes when the question was asked, why wasn't the turkey included. She started saying it was charged per pound, meanwhile that was never stated on the flyer. Some people like to shop here while others love to shop here. I thought about coming back for the prices ... Nah I'm good! I just can't bring myself to tolerate the set up. Oh well, the shopping spree continues. Inspire more. Yelp more!

I've been lucky for the most part with helpful and kind workers. The location it's in is killer. There's plenty of parking, but being around Old Country Road and Glen Cove Road is always a nightmare. And does anyone besides me ever have a problem getting a cart? I put my quarter in, and can never release my cart. Luckily there's always a kind customer to help or I track someone down who's about to return their cart, then give them my quarter. I'd say go just to look at the place even if there's nothing you want to buy. Guaranteed you'll come out with a few shopping bags full of stuff. Bring your own bags and enjoy.

The place is a good source for quality halal meats. However, just like with any other grocery stores, costumers should be aware with product freshness, expired products and items that has sub-par quality. It may be wise to check products carefully before purchasing. The prepared foods, are often praised for being fresh, has acceptable quality and satisfactory. Plentiful street parking is available outside the store. As what I noticed the owner tries to keep the store clean, neat and organized. Some of the item prices are more affordable as compared to other well known groceries. This is where I prefer to purchase raw unshelled peanuts , so that I can cook fried garlic peanuts, and prefer to get fresh red delicious apples. Costumer service is not that preferable (a one time experience), I may describe some staff as dismissive, may lack empathy, or show no interest in solving the customer's problem, and I understand that each costumer experience may vary. Sometimes language barrier could be an issue. I've had an unfortunate experience here while recuperating from a recent surgery. After I was done purchasing some items and while I was pushing the grocery cart towards outside, a staff who is very anxious to help bring back the cart in place has forcibly pushed my cart resulting to minimal pain on my surgical site. I raised my voice at what the staff did, because of the commotion, I found out from another staff that the person who pushed my cart has language challenges, my sentiments were dismissed by the staff who informed me. "Water under the bridge". Due to minimal negative aspects, I just try to buy a handful of items to minimize unfavorable incidents, I just acquire those that I really needed which is really worth buying from this store as compared to other competitors.

This supermarket was previously New Nature's Farm Supermarket and it was the only Chinese…read moresupermarket in the Little Neck area for a long time. Then came along Little Neck Supermarket and then Jmart. Ever since those supermarkets came into the picture, New Nature's Farm business significantly declined, when I used to go there it was usually empty and the meat/fish market employees would be yawning non-stop. Fast forward a few years, they decide to either close down or renovate; now it looks newer, brighter, and more welcoming. When I went to visit, it was a weekend and you would expect a decent amount of people, that was not the case when I visited. It was somewhat empty. The sample lady was serving samples in the freezer section and there was nobody around. I applaud the effort of providing samples since I dont see many chinese supermarkets do this anymore or perhaps I just dont go at the correct time. The shelves look like the original shelves from New Nature's Farm. The freezers are differen, and the meat and seafood departments got revamped. Hopefully this place attracts more customers so all these supermarkets can offer us, the customers, competitive prices.

This is my wife's supermarket of choice. I kind of prefer Stop & Shop, which I recently reviewed,…read morebecause I'm more cost-conscious - uh, in other words, cheap. Overall, Marino's seems a little more expensive. The Deli, for example, seems to have higher prices than most, but I think it's reflected in the quality. However, the OUI yogurt was cheaper at Marino's so it helps to know your prices. Marino's is a lot smaller than S&S, but they do a good job stocking the store. In my last review of S&S, I mentioned they did not have capers, filet mignon, or Marino's coconut Italian ice. Marino's Supermarket did have the capers and filet mignon. And although they did not have the coconut Italian ice, they did have the orange and rainbow flavors which S&S did not. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Perhaps, if you have a large family, S&S is the better option. For smaller food shopping sprees, Marino's definitely is a good choice. 5 stars for Marino's.

I consistently shop at Marino's. The only product I miss is the option to purchase unpackaged fish and sushi. The bread here is very fresh and varied. The meat selection is plentiful. The vegetables well stocked and nice looking. Where this store shines (hold on I need to put my sunglasses on) is the deli/prepared foods department. Not only do most of the prepared foods (mostly Italian) look good, but they are good ... very good. As for the deli, most of their employees know their business (I worked supermarket deli/seafood for 3 years so I know competence). Always a pleasure to be helped by the deli crew. Shout out to Dennis, the deli manager, and thanks for adding more mayo to the chicken salad. And finally, what a fine crew of check out staff. See you folks next week.
