While we completely understand wanting to protect expensive furniture, the tone and delivery came across as rude and made our entire table feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. On the other hand, I want to recognize our waiter, who was excellent throughout the meal. Raymond was attentive, friendly, and did his best to make us feel comfortable again after the interaction with the manager. His professionalism and kindness were the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the food also fell short of expectations. In particular, I would not recommend the mussels. The flavor was unpleasant and left a very bad aftertaste, making them one of the least enjoyable dishes we ordered. Good customer service isn't just about enforcing rules--it's about how those rules are communicated. Unfortunately, the manager's approach, combined with the disappointing food, overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

I genuinely thought it would be pieces of zucchini cut into shapes of flowers, but it was the actual flower! It was yummy! When I seemed confused, they let me try their regular zucchini too! I got the soup of the day which was a creamy mushroom soup and upgraded the sirloin to the filet. Both were worth getting. The filet was a little more cooked than I liked, but still pink in the middle, seasoned well, and tender. Their mashed potatoes honestly might be the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They gave me a sauce to go with the meal that they couldn't exactly describe. I can't exactly describe either. It was good though. I feel like it was similar to stroganoff gravy, savory and sour and a hint of something else. I upgraded one of the sides to the strawberry mozzarella salad, but I did not care for the vinaigrette that came with it. The pistachio cake was not what I was expecting. It was ok, but didn't really taste like pistachio aside from the pistachio crumble on top and was slightly dry. For just the chicharron and the mashed potatoes, I'd come here again. But pretty much everything we ate was solid and worth trying.

As a Jewish girl living in the area that I do, it's very hard to find good bagels with lox and cream cheese. I will most definitely be back for this sooner than later. Now once again that did take a long time to come out and at one point, we were wishing we had not ordered it but once we did get it, it was really good and I highly recommend it. The restaurant is not very large and it's the perfect brunch spot for anybody looking for a smaller Cafe with very good choices.

Holly sh!t! This dude is unbelievable. Read the honest review of parents complaining about their kids being injured at Astor Farm to Table and then the reply by the owner. It is as if this punk lives on another planet. When a mother complains about her child being hit in the eye by an umbrella that was not properly secured Casey comes out and calls her a "Karen"! Im sorry. This guy is unhinged. If this was us and our kids were injured and Casey lipped of like he did Yelp would have been the least of his concern. Looking at his behavior to everybody who dares to leave a single negative comment. We cant help but wonder how much workplace bullying is going on in the kitchen. Astor Farm to Table staff. Is what we seeing in Yelp a representation of what the working environment is like with Casey as your boss? I bet it is! So, Casey, let it rip you d!ck. Lets hear what else comes out of your mouth. To those parents who's kids were injured. We are truly sorry and hope they feel better soon. Not telling you what to do but we would have consulted with legal council. Had an amazing time at this African-Latin themed brunch spot! The vibe was lively and fun, with a great DJ that kept the energy up all afternoon. There was plenty of seating and parking, which made things super easy from the start. We have been coming here about once a month in 2020. The food is always prepared fresh to order, and has Latin American and African tones. There is a wonderful wine list with many South African vintages. They recently moved a few hundred yards to a much larger property, still on South Mason Road. More tables means less of a wait, and the owner (a very hands-on person) is making sure that the quality of food and level of service do not decline. Some of our favorite dishes are arepas and any of the meat dishes. The pasta is also fresh and tasty. Whether for an intimate brunch or dinner for two, or a larger gathering, we recommend Astor Farm-to-Table very highly. read more

Absolutely a hidden gem on the corner of Mason and Highland Knolls. Drawn to this restaurant for Houston's restaurant week, we were truly amazed by the food and beverages served to us by a fabulous server named Nicole. She personally made us mystery mimosas that were the most amazing concoctions of colorful champagne cocktails we've ever had. The hanging kabob was fabulous and the chicken must have marinated for days, it was so juicy.. The outdoor patio was cooled with fans and a great misting system. I am very impressed with this place!!! From the immense variety to the great service, this will definitely be a spot for me whenever i visit houston. I came for lunch and the restaurant had a classy, elegant atmosphere. I ordered the fusion sampler and loving good oxtails! The flavors were everything I hoped they would be. My waiter Nadia was very helpful and treated me very well. Chef Casey came out to speak to me as well and educate me on some of their dishes. The only thing I missed was boiled quail eggs which I used to get at a different churrasco chain back in my hometown. I got passion fruit juice as a drink, it was great that they were able to accommodate that request for me, I was very happy. I also ordered the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection, flakey, with a beautiful, crust. The only thing it was lacking is salt. The fresh little salsa was beautiful and bright. Overall it was a great experience and we are planning to come back with a big group in September because it was such a pleasant experience!
